On the properties of the strong Cesàro summability and strong convergence of series

Nörlund summability of Fourier series and its conjugate series

Summary In this paper the author has obtained two theorems for the N?rlund summability of Fourier series and its conjugate series respectively under very general conditions.     

Multiple Fourier sums and ϕ-strong means of their deviations on the classes of $$\bar \psi $$ -differentiable functions of many variables

We present the results concerning the approximation of -differentiable functions of many variables by rectangular Fourier sums in uniform and integral metrics and establish estimates for the ϕ-strong means of their deviations in terms of the best approximations. __________ Translated from Ukrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, Vol. 59, No. 8, pp. 1075–1093, August, 2007.

Norm summability of Nörlund logarithmic means on unbounded Vilenkin groups

The (Nörlund) logarithmic means of the Fourier series is:

$t_n f = \frac{1}{{l_n }}\sum\limits_{k = 1}^{n - 1} {\frac{{S_k f}}{{n - k}}} , where l_n = \sum\limits_{k = 1}^{n - 1} {\frac{1}{k}} $

. In general, the Fejér (C,1) means have better properties than the logarithmic ones. We compare them and show that in the case of some unbounded Vilenkin systems the situation changes.

     

Metric properties of classes of Hölder surfaces on Carnot groups

Area formulas for classes of Hölder mappings of Carnot groups and the corresponding graph mappings are obtained. The calculation of a nonintrinsic measure is exemplified.     

A theorem on the absolute Cesàro summability of factored fourier series

Summary In this paper, the author proves a theorem on the absoluteCesàro summability of factoredFourier series. His theorem extends a theorem ofMatsumoto and generalizes a theorem ofPrasad andBhatt.     

Common extension of bilateral series for Andrews’ q-Bailey and q-Gauss sums

By means of the modified Abel lemma on summation by parts, we establish a common bilateral series extension of the q-Bailey and q-Gauss sums discovered by Andrews (Duke Math. J. 40 (1973), 525–528).     

Localization for multiple Fourier series with “J k -lacunary sequence of partial sums” in Orlicz classes

We obtain structural and geometric characteristics of sets on which weak generalized localization almost everywhere is valid for multiple trigonometric Fourier series of functions in the classes $L(\log ^ + L)^{3k + 2} (\mathbb{T}^N ),1 \leqslant k \leqslant N - 2,N \geqslant 3$ , in the case where the rectangular partial sums of these series have an “index” in which exactly k components are elements of lacunary sequences.     

Convergence and localization of multiple Fourier series for classes of bounded Λ-variation

Previously obtained results for convergence and localization of multiple trigonometric Fourier series for functions from classes of bounded Λ-variation and embedding of these classes into each other are strengthened in the paper. The case when sequences Λ and M have a limit of the ratio Σ _n=1 ^N 1/λ _n /Σ _n=1 ^N 1/µ _n is considered. A more strict condition, the existence of a limit for the ratio λ _n /µ _n was considered before.     

Eisenstein series attached to lattices¶and modular forms on orthogonal groups

We study certain vector valued Eisenstein series on the metaplectic cover of SL₂(ℝ), which transform with the Weil representation associated with the discriminant group of an even lattice L. We find a closed formula for the Fourier coefficients in terms of Dirichlet L-series and representation numbers of L modulo “bad” primes. Such Eisenstein series naturally occur in the context of Borcherds' theory of automorphic products. We indicate some applications to modular forms on the orthogonal group of L with zeros on Heegner divisors. Received: 27 September 2001     

On Cesàro summability of vector valued multiplier spaces and operator valued series

In this paper, we introduce and study vector valued multiplier spaces with the help of the sequence of continuous linear operators between normed spaces and Cesàro convergence. Also, we obtain a new version of the Orlicz–Pettis Theorem by means of Cesàro summability.     

Characteristic classes and Hilbert–Poincaré series for perverse sheaves on abelian varieties

The convolution powers of a perverse sheaf on an abelian variety define an interesting family of branched local systems whose geometry is still poorly understood. We show that the generating series for their generic rank is a rational function of a very simple shape and that a similar result holds for the symmetric convolution powers. We also give formulae for other Schur functors in terms of characteristic classes on the dual abelian variety, and as an example we discuss the case of Prym–Tjurin varieties.     

Conjugacy classes of affine automorphisms of and linear automorphisms of ℙ n in the Cremona groups

We describe the conjugacy classes of affine automorphisms in the group Aut(n,) (respectively Bir()) of automorphisms (respectively of birational maps) of . From this we deduce also the classification of conjugacy classes of automorphisms of ℙⁿ in the Cremona group Bir().     

Addition to V. P. Zastavnyi’s paper “Estimates for sums of moduli of blocks in trigonometric Fourier series”

Analogs of scaling relations are constructed for basis exponential splines with uniform knots corresponding to a linear differential operator of arbitrary order with constant coefficients and real pairwise distinct roots of the characteristic polynomial; the construction does not employ techniques from harmonic analysis.
