The control of a Cauchy system for an elliptic operator seems to be globally an open problem. In this paper, we analyze this problem using a regularization method which consists in viewing a singular problem as a limit of a family of well-posed problems. Following this analysis and assuming that the interior of considered convex is non-empty, we obtain a singular optimality system (S.O.S.) for the considered control problem.  相似文献

Numerical solution of the parabolic partial differential equations with an unknown parameter play a very important role in engineering applications. In this study we present a high order scheme for determining unknown control parameter and unknown solution of two-dimensional parabolic inverse problem with overspecialization at a point in the spatial domain. In this approach, a compact fourth-order scheme is used to discretize spatial derivatives of equation and reduces the problem to a system of ordinary differential equations(ODEs).Then we apply a fourth order boundary value method to the solution of resulting system of ODEs. So the proposed method has fourth order of accuracy in both space and time components and is unconditionally stable due to the favorable stability property of boundary value methods. The results of numerical experiments are presented and some comparisons are made with several well-known finite difference schemes in the literature.Also we will investigate the effect of noise in data on the approximate solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the problem of boundary layer for nonstationary flows of viscous incompressible fluids. There are some open problems in the field of boundary layer. The method used here is mainly based on a transformation which reduces the boundary layer system to an initial-boundary value problem for a single quasilinear parabolic equation. We prove the existence of weak solutions to the modified nonstationary boundary layer system. Moreover, the stability and uniqueness of weak solutions are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of variational inclusions involving (H, η)-monotone operators in Banach space. Using the resolveut operator associated with (H, η)- monotone operators, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions for this new system of variational inclusions. We also construct a new algorithm for approximating the solution of this system and discuss the convergence of the iterative sequence generated by the algorithm.  相似文献

The authors prove a new Carleman estimate for general linear second order parabolic equation with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. On the basis of this estimate, improved Carleman estimates for the Stokes system and for a system of parabolic equations with a penalty term are obtained. In this paper,we investigate the time-periodic solution to a coupled compressible Navier–Stokes/Allen–Cahn system which describes the motion of a mixture of two viscous compressible fluids with a time periodic external force in a periodic domain in R^N.The existence of the time-periodic solution to the system is established by using an approach of parabolic regularization and combining with the topology degree theory,and then the uniqueness of the period solution is obtained under some smallness and symmetry assumptions on the external force.  相似文献

This paper studies a higher-order semilinear parabolic system. We obtain the second critical exponent to characterize the critical space-decay rate of the initial data in the co-existence parameter region of global and non-global solutions. Together with the critical Fujita exponent established by Pang et al.(2006),this gives a clear and complete picture to the Fujita phenomena in the coupled higher-order semilinear parabolic system.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive blow-up rates for higher-order semilinear parabolic equations and systems. Our proof is by contradiction and uses a scaling argument. This procedure reduces the problems of blow-up rate to Fujita-type theorems. In addition, we also give some new Fujita-type theorems for higher-order semilinear parabolic equations and systems with the time variable on R. We present a method for the derivation of lower bounds on free boundary propagation for the thin-film equation, one of the most prominent examples of a higher-order degenerate parabolic equation. In particular, we obtain sufficient conditions for instantaneous forward motion of the free boundary, upper bounds on waiting times, as well as lower bounds on asymptotic propagation rates. Our estimates coincide (up to a constant factor) with the previously known reverse bounds and are therefore optimal. To the best of our knowledge, these results constitute the first lower bounds on free boundary propagation for any higher-order degenerate parabolic equation. Our technique is based on new monotonicity formulas for solutions to the thin-film equation which involve weighted entropies with singular weight functions. It turns out that our method is not restricted to the thin-film equation, but also applicable to other higher-order parabolic equations like quantum drift-diffusion equations. This work concerns analysis and error estimates for optimal control problems related to implicit parabolic equations. The minimization of the tracking functional subject to implicit parabolic equations is examined. Existence of an optimal solution is proved and an optimality system of equations is derived. Semi-discrete (in space) error estimates for the finite element approximations of the optimality system are presented. These estimates are symmetric and applicable for higher-order discretizations. Finally, fully-discrete error estimates of arbitrarily high-order are presented based on a discontinuous Galerkin (in time) and conforming (in space) scheme. Two examples related to the Lagrangian moving mesh Galerkin formulation for the convection-diffusion equation are described.  相似文献

We establish short-time existence and regularity for higher-order flows generated by a class of polynomial natural tensors that, after an adjustment by the Lie derivative of the metric with respect to a suitable vector field, have strongly parabolic linearizations. We apply this theorem to flows by powers of the Laplacian of the Ricci tensor, and to flows generated by the ambient obstruction tensor. This study was suggested by previous work on the simulation of evolution equations with scale-dependent processes,e.g.,wave-propagation or heat-transfer,that are modeled by wave equations or heat equations.Here,we study both parabolic and hyperbolic equations.We focus on ADI (alternating direction implicit) methods and LOD (locally one-dimensional) methods,which are standard splitting methods of lower order,e.g.second-order.Our aim is to develop higher-order ADI methods,which are performed by Richardson extrapolation,Crank-Nicolson methods and higher-order LOD methods,based on locally higher-order methods.We discuss the new theoretical results of the stability and consistency of the ADI methods.The main idea is to apply a higher- order time discretization and combine it with the ADI methods.We also discuss the dis- cretization and splitting methods for first-order and second-order evolution equations. The stability analysis is given for the ADI method for first-order time derivatives and for the LOD (locally one-dimensional) methods for second-order time derivatives.The higher-order methods are unconditionally stable.Some numerical experiments verify our results.  相似文献
