The paper discusses formulations for the theoretical and numerical analysis of inelastic composites with scale separation. The basic underlying structure is a canonical variational setting in the fully nonlinear range based on incremental energy minimization. We focus on formulations of strain–driven homogenization for representative composite aggregates with emphasis on the development of canonical families of algorithms based on Lagrange and penalty functionals to cover alternative boundary constraints of (i.) linear deformations, (ii.) periodic deformations and (iii.) uniform tractions. Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one periodic solution of two classes of nonlinear higher order periodic difference equations are established, respectively. The results show us that sufficient conditions for the existence of T ? periodic solutions of difference equation are different from those ones for the existence of T ? periodic solutions of differential equation. The Jurdjevic-Quinn theorem on the global asymptotic stabilization of the origin is generalized to nonlinear time-varying affine control systems with periodic coefficients. The proof is based on the Krasovskii theorem on the global asymptotic stability for periodic systems and the introduced notion of “commutator” for two vector fields one of which is time-varying. The obtained sufficient conditions for stabilization are applied to bilinear control systems with periodic coefficients. We construct a control periodic in t in the form of a quadratic form in x that asymptotically stabilizes the zero solution of a bilinear periodic system with a time-invariant drift.  相似文献

We investigate leaky integrate-and-fire models (LIF models for short) driven by Stepanov and μ-almost periodic functions. Special attention is paid to the properties of the firing map and its displacement, which give information about the spiking behavior of the considered system. We provide conditions under which such maps are well-defined and are uniformly continuous. We show that the LIF models with Stepanov almost periodic inputs have uniformly almost periodic displacements. We also show that in the case of μ-almost periodic drives it may happen that the displacement map is uniformly continuous, but is not μ-almost periodic (and thus cannot be Stepanov or uniformly almost periodic). By allowing discontinuous inputs, we extend some previous results, showing, for example, that the firing rate for the LIF models with Stepanov almost periodic input exists and is unique. This is a starting point for the investigation of the dynamics of almost-periodically driven integrate-and-fire systems.  相似文献

A periodic predator–prey-chain system with impulsive effects is considered. By using the global results of Rabinowitz and standard techniques of bifurcation theory, the existence of its trivial, semi-trivial and nontrivial positive periodic solutions is obtained. It is shown that the nontrivial positive periodic solution for such a system may be bifurcated from an unstable semi-trivial periodic solution. Furthermore, the stability of these periodic solutions is studied.  相似文献

We consider the noise-induced transitions from a linearly stable periodic orbit consisting of T periodic points in randomly perturbed discrete logistic map. Traditional large deviation theory and asymptotic analysis at small noise limit cannot distinguish the quantitative difference in noise-induced stochastic instabilities among the T periodic points. To attack this problem, we generalize the transition path theory to the discrete-time continuous-space stochastic process. In our first criterion to quantify the relative instability among T periodic points, we use the distribution of the last passage location related to the transitions from the whole periodic orbit to a prescribed disjoint set. This distribution is related to individual contributions to the transition rate from each periodic points. The second criterion is based on the competency of the transition paths associated with each periodic point. Both criteria utilize the reactive probability current in the transition path theory. Our numerical results for the logistic map reveal the transition mechanism of escaping from the stable periodic orbit and identify which periodic point is more prone to lose stability so as to make successful transitions under random perturbations.  相似文献

In this paper we survey recent results on the decay of periodic and almost periodic solutions of conservation laws. We also recall some recent results on the global existence of periodic solutions of conservation laws systems which lie inBV loc and are constructed through Glimm scheme. The latter motivates a discussion on a possible strategy for solving the open problem of the global existence of periodic solutions of the Euler equations for nonisentropic gas dynamics. We base our decay analysis on a general result about space-time functions which are almost periodic in the space variable, established here for the first time. This result is an abstract version of Theorem 2.1 in [31], which in turn is an extention of the combined result given by Theorems 3.1–3.2 in [9].  相似文献

This Note introduces a new class of functions called weighted pseudo almost periodic functions, which generalize in a natural fashion the classical pseudo almost periodic functions due to C. Zhang. Properties of those weighted pseudo almost periodic functions are discussed including a composition result of weighted pseudo almost periodic functions, which plays a crucial role for the solvability of some weighted pseudo almost periodic semilinear differential and partial differential equations. By treating the periodic Riccati equation ${\rm\dot{z}=a(t)z^2+b(t)z+c(t)}$ as a dynamical system on the sphere S, the number and stability of its periodic solutions are determined. Using properties of Moebius transformations, an exact algebraic relation is obtained between any periodic solution and any complex-valued periodic solution. In this paper, a periodic predator–prey system with distributed time delays and impulsive effect is investigated. By using the Floquet theory of linear periodic impulsive equation, some conditions for the linear stability of trivial periodic solution and semi-trivial periodic solutions are obtained. It is proved that the system can be permanent if all the trivial and semi-trivial periodic solutions are linearly unstable. We improve some results in Guo and Chen (2009) [1].  相似文献

For abstract linear functional differential equations with a weighted pseudo-almost periodic forcing term, we prove that the existence of a bounded solution on R+ implies the existence of a weighted pseudo-almost periodic solution. Our results extend the classical theorem due to Massera on the existence of periodic solutions for linear periodic ordinary differential equations. Abstract

A pseudospectral method for generating optimal trajectories of the class of periodic optimal control problems is proposed. The method consists of representing the solution of the periodic optimal control problem by an mth degree trigonometric interpolating polynomial, using Fourier nodes as grid points, and then discretizing the problem using the trapezoidal rule as the quadrature formula for smoothly differentiable periodic functions. The periodic optimal control problem is thereby transformed into an algebraic nonlinear programming problem. Due to its dynamic nature, the pseudospectral Fourier approach avoids many of the numerical difficulties typically encountered in solving standard periodic optimal control problems. An illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method.  相似文献

As approximating aggregates, we use the so-called Fourier operators, which are entire functions of exponential type ≤ σ. These functions turn into trigonometric polynomials if the function ?(·) is periodic (in particular, they may be the Fourier sums of the function approximated). The approximations are studied in the spacesL p determined by local integral norms ∥·∥-p . Analogs of the Lebesgue and Favard inequalities, wellknown in the periodic case, are obtained and used for finding estimates of the corresponding best approximations which are exact in order. On the basis of these inequalities, we also establish estimates of approximations by Fourier operators, which are exact in order and, in some important cases, exact with respect to the constants of the principal terms of these estimates.  相似文献

We discuss the problem of the existence of almost periodic in distribution solutions of affine stochastic differential equations with almost periodic coefficients. We prove that if the linear part of the affine equation is exponentially stable in mean square then the unique continuous L2 -bounded solution of the affine system has the onedimensional distributions almost periodic. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for the global exponential stability of periodic solutions to periodic bi-directional Cohen–Grossberg neural networks involving distributed delays, by using the Lyapunov functional method and some analytical techniques. This paper is concerned with the extension of the concepts and theories of traveling wave solutions of time and space periodic monostable equations to time recurrent and space periodic ones.  It first introduces the concept of generalized traveling wave solutions of time recurrent and space periodic monostable equations, which extends the concept of periodic traveling wave solutions of time and space periodic monostable equations to time recurrent and space periodic ones. It then proves that in the direction of any unit vector \(\xi\), there is \(c^*(\xi)\) such that for any \(c>c^*(\xi)\), a generalized traveling wave solution in the direction of \(\xi\) with averaged propagation speed \(c\) exists. It also proves that if the time recurrent and space periodic monostable equation is indeed time periodic, then \(c^*(\xi)\) is the minimal wave speed in the direction of \(\xi\) and the generalized traveling wave solution in the direction of \(\xi\) with averaged speed \(c>c^*(\xi)\) is a periodic traveling wave solution with speed \(c\), which recovers the existing results on the existence of periodic traveling wave solutions in the direction of \(\xi\) with speed greater than the minimal speed in that direction.  相似文献
