We propose a feedback control strategy for the stabilization of two-phase flow with variable densities, where we use an inexact variant of Model Predictive Control, called Instantaneous Control. The physical system is governed by the Cahn–Hilliard Navier–Stokes system with different densities proposed in [1]. (© 2014 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

We propose an original scheme for the time discretization of a triphasic Cahn–Hilliard/Navier–Stokes model. This scheme allows an uncoupled resolution of the discrete Cahn–Hilliard and Navier‐Stokes system, which is unconditionally stable and preserves, at the discrete level, the main properties of the continuous model. The existence of discrete solutions is proved, and a convergence study is performed in the case where the densities of the three phases are the same. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We prove three results on the existence of densities for the laws of finite dimensional functionals of the solutions of the stochastic Navier–Stokes equations in dimension $3$ . In particular, under very mild assumptions on the noise, we prove that finite dimensional projections of the solutions have densities with respect to the Lebesgue measure which have some smoothness when measured in a Besov space. This is proved thanks to a new argument inspired by an idea introduced in (Fournier and Printems. Bernoulli 16(2):343–360, 2010).  相似文献

We construct Einstein metrics of non-positive scalar curvature on certain solid torus bundles over a Fano Kähler–Einstein manifold. We show, among other things, that the negative Einstein metrics are conformally compact, and the Ricci-flat metrics have slower-than-Euclidean volume growth and quadratic curvature decay. Also we construct positive Einstein metrics on certain 3-sphere bundles over a Fano Kähler–Einstein manifold. We classify the homeomorphism and diffeomorphism types of the total spaces when the base is the complex projective plane.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the behavior of the normalized Ricci flow on asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds. We show that the normalized Ricci flow exists globally and converges to an Einstein metric when starting from a non-degenerate and sufficiently Ricci pinched metric. More importantly we use maximum principles to establish the regularity of conformal compactness along the normalized Ricci flow including that of the limit metric at time infinity. Therefore we are able to recover the existence results in Graham and Lee (Adv Math 87:186–255, 1991), Lee (Fredholm Operators and Einstein Metrics on Conformally Compact Manifolds, 2006), and Biquard (Surveys in Differential Geometry: Essays on Einstein Manifolds, 1999) of conformally compact Einstein metrics with conformal infinities which are perturbations of that of given non-degenerate conformally compact Einstein metrics.  相似文献

We present an energy-stable, decoupled discrete scheme for a recent model (see [1]) supposed to describe electrokinetic phenomena in two-phase flow with general mass densities. This model couples momentum and Cahn–Hilliard type phase-field equations with Nernst–Planck equations for ion density evolution and an elliptic transmission problem for the electrostatic potential. The transport velocities in our scheme are based on the old velocity field updated via a discrete time integration of the force densities. This allows to split the equations into three blocks which can be treated sequentially: The phase-field equation, the equations for ion transport and electrostatic potential, and the Navier–Stokes type equations. By establishing a discrete counterpart of the continuous energy estimate, we are able to prove the stability of the scheme. (© 2015 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

In this Note, we announce the result that if M is a Kähler–Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has nonnegative bisectional curvature, and the curvature is positive somewhere, then the Kähler–Ricci flow converges to a Kähler–Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature.  相似文献

Let T=?×(‐1,1) and &ℴ??2 be a smoothly bounded open set, closure of which is contained in T. We consider the stationary Navier–Stokes flows in . In general, the pressure is determined up to a constant. Since Ω has two extremities, we want to know if we can choose the constant same. We study the behaviour of the pressure at the infinity in Ω and give a relation between the velocity and the pressure difference. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of a complete holomorphic vector field on a strongly pseudoconvex complex manifold admitting a negatively curved complete Kähler–Einstein metric and a discrete sequence of automorphisms. Using the method of potential scaling, we will show that there is a potential function of the Kähler–Einstein metric whose differential has a constant length. Then, we will construct a complete holomorphic vector field from the gradient vector field of the potential function.

The work deals with numerical modelling of 2D/3D laminar incompressible viscous flows for Newtonian and non–Newtonian fluids. The unsteady system of Navier–Stokes equations with steady boundary conditions in the form of an artificial compressibility method is solved by multistage Runge–Kutta finite volume method. Steady state solution is achieved for t→∞. Convergence is followed by steady residual behaviour. For unsteady solution high compressibility coefficient β2 is considered. We describe and construct pseudo-Hermitian structures θ without torsion (i.e. with transverse symmetry) whose Webster–Ricci curvature tensor is a constant multiple of the exterior differential . We call these structures TS-pseudo-Einstein and our first result states that all these structures can locally be derived from Kähler–Einstein metrics. Then we discuss the corresponding Fefferman metrics of the TS-pseudo-Einstein structures. These are never Einstein. However, our second result states that they are locally always conformally Einstein.  相似文献

Coupled systems of nonlinear Schrödinger equations have been used extensively to describe Bose–Einstein condensates. In this paper, we study a two-component Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) with an external driving field in a three-dimensional space. This model gives rise to a new kind of vortex–filaments, with fractional degree and nontrivial core structure. We show that vortex–filaments is 1-rectifiable set, and calculate its mean curvature in the strong coupling (Thomas–Fermi) limit. In particular, we show that large strength of the external driving field causes vortex–filaments for a two-component BEC.  相似文献

We consider the problem of the asymptotic behaviour in the L2‐norm of solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations. We consider perturbations to the rest state and to stationary motions. In both cases we study the initial‐boundary value problem in unbounded domains with non‐compact boundary. In particular, we deal with domains with varying and possibly divergent exits to infinity and aperture domains. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study an odd‐dimensional analogue of the Goldberg conjecture for compact Einstein almost Kähler manifolds. We give an explicit non‐compact example of an Einstein almost cokähler manifold that is not cokähler. We prove that compact Einstein almost cokähler manifolds with nonnegative *‐scalar curvature are cokähler (indeed, transversely Calabi–Yau); more generally, we give a lower and upper bound for the *‐scalar curvature in the case that the structure is not cokähler. We prove similar bounds for almost Kähler Einstein manifolds that are not Kähler.  相似文献

The velocity–vorticity formulation of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations was recently found to give excellent numerical results for flows with strong rotation. In this work, we propose a new regularization of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations, which we call the 3D velocity–vorticity-Voigt (VVV) model, with a Voigt regularization term added to momentum equation in velocity–vorticity form, but with no regularizing term in the vorticity equation. We prove global well-posedness and regularity of this model under periodic boundary conditions. We prove convergence of the model's velocity and vorticity to their counterparts in the 3D Navier–Stokes equations as the Voigt modeling parameter tends to zero. We prove that the curl of the model's velocity converges to the model vorticity (which is solved for directly), as the Voigt modeling parameter tends to zero. Finally, we provide a criterion for finite-time blow-up of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations based on this inviscid regularization.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the inviscid limit for the periodic solutions to Navier–Stokes equation in the framework of Gevrey class. It is shown that the lifespan for the solutions to Navier–Stokes equation is independent of viscosity, and that the solutions of the Navier–Stokes equation converge to that of Euler equation in Gevrey class as the viscosity tends to zero. Moreover, the convergence rate in Gevrey class is presented. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This Note deals with the controllability of Stokes and Navier–Stokes systems with distributed controls with support in possibly small subdomains. We first present a new global Carleman inequality for the solutions to Stokes-like systems that leads to the null controllability at any time T>0. Then, we present a local result concerning exact controllability to trajectories of the Navier–Stokes system. To cite this article: E. Fernández-Cara et al., C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. In this article, we consider the Darcy–Stokes–Brinkman model that can be sorted into three problems: the Darcy problems, the Stokes–Brinkman interface problems and the coupled Darcy–Stokes problems. We study finite element approximation of the model with Dirichlet boundary conditions and make a unified analysis of the three problems based on nonconforming element. Optimal error estimates for the fluid velocity and pressure are derived. Finally, we present some numerical examples verifying the theoretical predictions. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We describe the asymptotic behaviour of an incompressible viscous free fluid in contact with a porous layer flow through the porous layer surface. This porous layer has a small thickness and consists of thin channels periodically distributed. Two scales are present in this porous medium, one associated to the periodicity of the distribution of the channels and the other to the size of these channels. Proving estimates on the solution of this Stokes problem, we establish a critical link between these two scales. We prove that the limit problem is a Stokes flow in the free domain with further boundary conditions on the basis of the domain which involve an extra velocity, an extra pressure and two second-order tensors. This limit problem is obtained using Γ-convergence methods. We finally consider the case of a Navier–Stokes flow within this context.  相似文献

For the positive solutions of the Gross–Pitaevskii system we prove that L‐boundedness implies C0,α‐boundedness for every α ? (0,1), uniformly as β → +∞. Moreover, we prove that the limiting profile as β → +∞ is Lipschitz‐continuous. The proof relies upon the blowup technique and the monotonicity formulae by Almgren and Alt, Caffarelli, and Friedman. This system arises in the Hartree‐Fock approximation theory for binary mixtures of Bose–Einstein condensates in different hyperfine states. Extensions to systems with k > 2 densities are given. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献
