The catalytic effect of copper(II) ions toward the oxidation of ‐asparagine (Asn) by an anticancer platinum(IV) complex in the form of hexachloroplatinate(IV) (HCP) has been investigated in aqueous acid medium at the constant ionic strength and temperature. The progress of both uncatalyzed and copper(II)‐catalyzed oxidation reactions has been monitored spectrophotometrically. The stoichiometry in both cases is [Asn]/[HCP] = 1:1. The kinetics of both redox reactions is first order with respect to [oxidant] and less than the unit order in [acid]. The order with respect to [Asn]T decreases from unity in the uncatalyzed path to less than unity in the catalyzed one. The catalyzed path is first order in [CuII]T. Increasing ionic strength and dielectric constant decreases the oxidation rates. The final oxidation products of ‐asparagine are identified as the corresponding aldehyde (α‐formyl acetamide), ammonium ion, and carbon dioxide. Tentative mechanisms of both reactions have been suggested. The appropriate rate laws are deduced. The activation parameters of the uncatalyzed reaction have been evaluated and discussed.  相似文献

The catalytic effect of silver(I) and copper(II) ions on the oxidation of histidine by cerium(IV) in aqueous sulfuric acid solutions was studied spectrophotometrically at a constant ionic strength of 3.0 mol dm−3 and at 25°C. In both uncatalyzed and metal ions‐catalyzed paths, the reactions exhibited first‐order kinetics with respect to [Ce(IV)] and [catalyst], and fractional first‐order dependences with respect to [His] and [H+]. The oxidation rates increased as the ionic strength and dielectric constant of the reactions media increased. The catalytic efficiency of Ag(I) was higher than that of Cu(II). Plausible mechanistic schemes for both uncatalyzed and catalyzed reactions were proposed, and the rate laws associated with the suggested mechanisms were derived. In both cases, the final oxidation products of histidine were identified as 2‐imidazole acetaldehyde, ammonium ion, and carbon dioxide. The activation parameters associated with the second‐order rate constants were evaluated.  相似文献

Oxidations of glycolaldehyde (GA) to glyoxal by osmium(VIII), iridium(IV) and platinum(IV) have been investigated in aqueous solution, and the orders with respect to each [reactant] determined. The reaction involving iridium(IV) takes place through intermediate formation of free radicals in a MeCO2Na-MeCO2H buffer medium, whereas a one-step two-electron transfer process occurs in the oxidations by OsVIII and PtIV in an alkaline medium. Mechanisms consistent with the experimental findings are proposed. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A series of new platinum(II) and platinum(IV) complexes of the type [PtII(HMI)2X] (where HMI=hexamethyleneimine, X=dichloro, sulfato, 1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylato [CBDCA], oxalato, methylmalonato, or tatronato) and [PtIV(HMI)2Y2Cl2] (where Y=hydroxo, acetato, or chloro) were synthesized and characterized by infrared (IR) spectroscopy, 13C and 195Pt nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Among the complexes synthesized, [PtII(hexamethyleneimine)2(1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylato)]·H2O was examined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The slightly distorted square planar coordination environment of the platinum metal includes the amino group of the hexamethyleneimine (HMI) molecule and the oxygen atoms of the carboxylato ligand. The cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid (CBDCA) molecule adopts six-member chelating rings with platinum. Hydrogen bonding plays an important part in holding the crystal lattice together.  相似文献

The kinetics of RuIII-catalysed oxidation of tellurium(IV) by alkaline diperiodatonickelate(IV) were studied spectrophotometrically using a rapid kinetic accessory. The reaction is a two stage process. In both the stages, the reaction is first-order with respect to [oxidant] and to [catalyst] with an apparent less than unit order, each in [substrate] and [alkali]. Periodate has a retarding effect on the reaction rate. A mechanism involving monoperiodatonickelate(IV) (MPN) as the reactive oxidant species is proposed. The data suggest that oxidation proceeds via formation of a complex between the active species of RuIII and TeIV, which then reacts with 1 mol of MPN in a slow step to yield the products. The reaction constants involved in the mechanism were evaluated. There is good agreement between the observed and calculated rate constants under varying experimental conditions for both the stages of reaction. The activation parameters for the slow step were calculated and discussed.  相似文献

The title compound, catena‐poly[[[bis(ethylenediamine‐κ2N,N′)platinum(II)]‐ μ‐chlorido‐[bis(ethylenediamine)platinum(IV)]‐μ‐chlorido] tetrakis{4‐[(4‐hydroxyphenyl)diazenyl]benzenesulfonate} dihydrate], {[PtIIPtIVCl2(C2H8N2)4](HOC6H4N=NC6H4SO3)4·2H2O}n, has a linear chain structure composed of square‐planar [Pt(en)2]2+ (en is ethylenediamine) and elongated octahedral trans‐[PtCl2(en)2]2+ cations stacked alternately, bridged by Cl atoms, along the b axis. The Pt atoms are located on an inversion centre, while the Cl atoms are disordered over two sites and form a zigzag ...Cl—PtIV—Cl...PtII... chain, with a PtIV—Cl bond length of 2.3140 (14) Å, an interatomic PtII...Cl distance of 3.5969 (15) Å and a PtIV—Cl...PtII angle of 170.66 (6)°. The structural parameter indicating the mixed‐valence state of the Pt atom, expressed by δ = (PtIV—Cl)/(PtII...Cl), is 0.643.  相似文献

A new one‐dimensional platinum mixed‐valence complex with nonhalogen bridging ligands, namely catena‐poly[[[bis(ethane‐1,2‐diamine‐κ2N,N′)platinum(II)]‐μ‐thiocyanato‐κ2S:S‐[bis(ethane‐1,2‐diamine‐κ2N,N′)platinum(IV)]‐μ‐thiocyanato‐κ2S:S] tetrakis(perchlorate)], {[Pt2(SCN)2(C2H8N2)4](ClO4)4}n, has been isolated. The PtII and PtIV atoms are located on centres of inversion and are stacked alternately, linked by the S atoms of the thiocyanate ligands, forming an infinite one‐dimensional chain. The PtIV—S and PtII...S distances are 2.3933 (10) and 3.4705 (10) Å, respectively, and the PtIV—S...PtII angle is 171.97 (4)°. The introduction of nonhalogen atoms as bridging ligands in this complex extends the chemical modifications possible for controlling the amplitude of the charge‐density wave (CDW) state in one‐dimensional mixed‐valence complexes. The structure of a discrete PtIV thiocyanate compound, bis(ethane‐1,2‐diamine‐κ2N,N′)bis(thiocyanato‐κS)platinum(IV) bis(perchlorate) 1.5‐hydrate, [Pt(SCN)2(C4H8N2)2](ClO4)2·1.5H2O, has monoclinic (C2) symmetry. Two S‐bound thiocyanate ligands are located in trans positions, with an S—Pt—S angle of 177.56 (3)°.  相似文献

The fundamental properties and extraction capability of an ionic liquid (IL), trioctylammonium nitrate ([HTOA][NO3]), for PdII and PtIV, are investigated. At room temperature, [HTOA][NO3] is a solid (melting point: 30.7 °C), but it becomes a liquid (melting point: 16.7 °C) when saturated with water. Water-saturated [HTOA][NO3] exhibits a viscosity of 267.1 mPa·s and an aqueous solubility of 2.821?×?10?4 mol·dm?3 at 25 °C, and can be used as an extraction solvent without dilution. [HTOA][NO3] exhibits an extremely high extraction capability for PdII and PtIV in dilute hydrochloric acid (0.1–2 mol·dm?3 HCl); the distribution ratio reaches 3 × 104 for both the metals. From electrospray ionization mass spectrometry analysis, the species extracted in the IL phase are [PdCl3]? and [PdCl2(NO3)]? for PdII and [PtCl6]2? and [PtCl5]? for PtIV. A majority of the other transition metals are considerably less or marginally extracted into [HTOA][NO3] from a 0.1 mol·dm?3 hydrochloric acid solution. The extraction capacity of [HTOA][NO3] is greater than that of other hydrophobic ILs such as [HTOA]Cl and bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide-based ILs. The metals extracted into the IL phase are quantitatively back-extracted using an aqueous solution containing thiourea and nitric acid. By controlling the thiourea concentration and shaking time, PdII and PtIV are mutually separated to some extent in the back extraction process. The IL phase used for the back extraction can be reused for the forward extraction of these metals after scrubbing it with an aqueous nitric acid solution.  相似文献

A comparative kinetic study of the reactions of two mixed valence manganese(III,IV) complexes with macrocyclic ligands, [L1MnIV(O)2MnIIIL1], 1 (L1 = 1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane) and [L2MnIV(O)2MnIIIL2], 2 (L2 = 1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane) with 2‐mercaptoethanol (RSH) has been carried out by spectrophotometry in aqueous buffer at (30 ± 0.1)°C. Rate of the reactions between the oxidants and the reductant was found to be negligibly slow with no systematic dependence on either redox partners. Externally added copper(II) (usually 5 × 10?7 mol dm?3), however, increases the rate of the reduction of 1 and 2 significantly. In the presence of catalytic amount of copper(II), the rate of the reaction is nearly proportional to [RSH] at lower concentration of the reductant but follows a saturation kinetics at higher concentration of the latter for the reaction between 1 and the thiol. Reaction rate was found to be strongly influenced by the variation of acidity of the medium and the observed kinetics suggests that the two reductant species ([Cu(RSH)]2+ and [Cu(RS)]+) are significant for the reaction between 1 and the thiol. The dependence of the rate on [RSH] for the reduction of 2 by the thiol was complex and rationalized considering two equilibria involving the catalyst (Cu2+) and the reductant. The pH rate profile suggests that both the μ‐O protonated [MnIII(O)(OH)MnIV] and the deprotonated [MnIII(O)2MnIV] forms of the oxidant 2 become important. The kinetic results presented in this study indicate the domination of outer‐sphere path. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 36: 129–137, 2004  相似文献

A procedure was developed for the synthesis of previously unknown β-chlorovinyl derivatives of PtIV chloride complexes by chloroplatination of terminal alkynes catalyzed by PtII chloride complexes. The reaction is highly stereoselective and gives only the products of trans-anti-addition of platinum and chlorine atoms. The regioselectivity of the catalytic reaction formally corresponds to Markovnikov’s rule, e.g., in alkynes containing electron-donating substituents, platinum attacks the terminal carbon atom. The σ-vinyl derivatives of PtIV chloride complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Two PtIV and two PtII complexes containing a 2,2′‐bipyridine ligand were treated with a short DNA oligonucleotide under light irradiation at 37 °C or in the dark at 37 and 50 °C. Photolysis and thermolysis of the PtIV complexes led to spontaneous reduction of the PtIV to the corresponding PtII complexes and to binding of PtII 2,2′‐bipyridine complexes to N7 of guanine. When the reduction product was [Pt(bpy)Cl2], formation of bis‐oligonucleotide adducts was observed, whereas [Pt(bpy)(MeNH2)Cl]+ gave monoadducts, with chloride ligands substituted in both cases. Neither in the dark nor under light irradiation was the reductive elimination process of these PtIV complexes accompanied by oxidative DNA damage. This work raises the question of the stability of photoactivatable PtIV complexes toward moderate heating conditions.  相似文献

Water‐soluble platinum(IV) prodrugs, which proved kinetically stable to reduction in the presence of physiological concentration of ascorbate, were quickly reduced to their active form, oxaliplatin, when co‐incubated with a macrocycle metallotexaphyrin (i.e., Motexafin Gadolinium (MGd)). The reduction of PtIV to PtII promoted by MGd occurs in cell culture as well, leading to an increase in the antiproliferative activity of the PtIV species in question. The mediated effect is proportional to the concentration of MGd and gives rise to an enhancement when the prodrug is relatively hydrophilic. MGd is known to localize/accumulate preferentially in tumor tissues. Thus, the present “activation by reduction” approach may allow for the cancer‐selective enhancement in the cytotoxicity of PtIV prodrugs.  相似文献

The kinetics of metal exchange between copper(II) and tetramethylenediaminetetraacetatonickel(II), [Ni(TMDTA)] has been studied between pH 3.4 and 4.8 at an ionic strength of 1.25 M (NaClO4) and a temperature of 25.0 ± 0.1 °C. The reaction is first order in [Ni(TMDTA)]. The reaction order in [Cu2+] varies from first to zero and then back to first as [Cu2+] is increased. At low copper concentration, the first-order rate constant is pH independent and represents the attack of copper on the nickel complex through a pathway in which TMDTA is partially uncoordinated before reaction with copper. Evidence is presented for a stepwise dechelation mechanism followed by attack of copper to give a dinuclear intermediate. The zero-order rate is pH dependent. At higher [Cu2+], the swing back to first order is due to the formation of a weak copper-tetramethylenediaminetetraacetatonickelate complex which then converts to products through a dinuclear intermediate. A plausible mechanism, consistent with all the kinetic data, is presented.  相似文献

The ability to rationally design and construct a platform technology to develop new platinum(IV) [PtIV] prodrugs with functionalities for installation of targeting moieties, delivery systems, fluorescent reporters from a single precursor with the ability to release biologically active cisplatin by using well‐defined chemistry is critical for discovering new platinum‐based therapeutics. With limited numbers of possibilities considering the sensitivity of PtIV centers, we used a strain‐promoted azide–alkyne cycloaddition approach to provide a platform, in which new functionalities can easily be installed on cisplatin prodrugs from a single PtIV precursor. The ability of this platform to be incorporated in nanodelivery vehicle and conjugation to fluorescent reporters were also investigated.  相似文献

Summary The kinetics of the oxidation of hypophosphite ion by platinum(IV) have been studied spectrophotometrically in alkaline medium at different temperatures. The rate increases as the pH increases and the empirical rate law applicable to the reaction is given by:-d[PtIV]/dt = k3[PtIV][H2PO2–][OH]The rate constant is 2.17×10–3 (l2 mo–2s–1) at 40.5°. The energy and entropy of activation for the reaction are 104.2 kJ mol–1 and 28.5 JK–1mol–1 respectively.  相似文献

Naphthaldimines containing N2O2 donor centers react with platinum(II) and (IV) chlorides to give two types of complexes depending on the valence of the platinum ion. For [Pt(II)], the ligand is neutral, [(H2L1)PtCl2]·3H2O (1) and [(H2L3)2Pt2Cl4]·5H2O (3), or monobasic [(HL2)2Pt2Cl2]·2H2O (2) and [(HL4)2Pt]·2H2O (4). These complexes are all diamagnetic having square-planar geometry. For [Pt(IV)], the ligand is dibasic, [(L1)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·2H2O (5), [(L2)Pt3Cl10]·3H2O (6), [(L3)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·C2H5OH (7) and [(L4)Pt2Cl6]·H2O (8). The Pt(IV) complexes are diamagnetic and exhibit octahedral configuration around the platinum ion. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis and IR spectra, electrical conductivity and thermal analyses (DTA and TGA). The molar conductances in DMF solutions indicate that the complexes are non-ionic. The complexes were tested for their catalytic activities towards cathodic reduction of oxygen.  相似文献

Thiocarbamoyl chitosan (TCC) was synthesized by grafting thiourea on chitosan backbone in eutectic composition of ammonium thiocyanate—thiourea. Insoluble products with the amno group functionalization degree of 0.3–1.1 can be prepared by varying the conditions of polymer-analogous (synthesis in a gel) transformation. Structure of the synthesized chitosan derivatives was characterized by elemental analysis, diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy, and the solid state 13C NMR. Study of sorption properties of TCC shows high sorption capacity and selectivity for the ions of gold(III), platinum(IV), and palladium(II) as evidenced by results obtained at pH 2 in the presence of 100–1000-fold excess of iron(III), copper(II), zinc(II), and nickel(II). Sorption capacity of TCC for all ions increases with the increase in the degree of substitution and changes in the series: AuIII > PdII > PtIV.  相似文献

Hydrogen peroxide oxidation of platinum(II) compounds containing labile groups such as Cl, OH, and alkene moieties has been carried out and the products characterized. The reactions of [PtII (X)2 (N–N)] (X = Cl, OH, X2 = isopropylidenemalorate (ipm); N–N 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine [(dmpda), N-isopropyl-1,3-propanediamine (ippda)] with hydrogen peroxide in an appropriate solvent at room temperature affords [PtIV (OH)(Y)(X)2(N–N)] (Y = OH, OCH3). The crystal structures of [PtIV(OH)(OCH3)(Cl)2(dmpda)]·2H2O (P-1 bar, a = 6.339(2) Å , b = 9.861(1) Å, c = 11.561(1) Å, a = 92.078(9)°, β = 104.78(1)°, γ=100.54(1)°, V = 684.3(2) Å3, Z = 2R = 0.0503) and [PtIV(OH)2(ipm)(ippda)]·3H2O (C 2/c, a = 27.275(6) Å, b=6.954(2) Å, c = 22.331(4) Å, β = 118.30(2)°, V = 3729(2) Å3, Z = 8, R = 0.0345) have been solved and refined. The local geometry around the platinum(IV) atom approximates to a typical octahedral arrangement with two added groups (OH and OCH3; OH and OH) in a transposition. The platinum(IV) compounds with potential labile moieties may be important intermediate species for further reactions.  相似文献
