A contact problem is studied for a prestressed elastic strip with an elastic reinforcement. The integral Fourier transform is used to construct an influence function for an infinite strip with one face fixed. A unit concentrated force is applied to the strip at an arbitrary angle. The contact problem on force transfer from a thin infinite stringer to the prestressed strip is solved. The problem is mathematically formulated as a system of integro-differential equations for the unknown contact stresses on the assumption that the beam bending model and the uniaxial stress model are valid for the stringer, which is subjected to both vertical and horizontal forces. This system is solved in a closed form using the integral Fourier transform. The contact stresses are expressed in terms of Fourier integrals in a quite simple form. The influence of the initial stresses on the contact stress distribution is analyzed, and effects of concentrated load are revealed  相似文献

In the plane (plane strain) and axially symmetric statements, we study the problem of stability, under the action of longitudinal compressing forces, of an infinite elastic plate in two-sided contact with an elastic half-space. The upper layer of finite depth is described by the usual equations of linear theory of elasticity; the lower layer, which is geometrically nonlinear, incompressible, and infinite in depth, is prestressed by gravity forces. The total adhesion between the layer of finite depth and the lower half-space is realized. It is also assumed that the same adhesion takes place between the upper layer of the half-space and the plate with the contact tangential stresses taken into account. The results can be used to calculate the working capacity of coated bodies and layered composites and in problems of geophysics. The problem of stability of an infinite elastic plate under longitudinal compression under conditions of two-sided contact with an elastic base was studied earlier in the monograph [1] (Fuss-Winkler base) and in [2–4].  相似文献

This paper considers a two-dimensional linear unsteady problem of rigid-stamp indentation on an elastic layer of finite thickness lying on the surface of a compressible fluid of infinite depth. The Lamé equations holds for the elastic layer, and the wave equation for the fluid velocity potential. Using the Laplace and Fourier transforms, the problem is reduced to determining the contact stresses under the stamp from the solution of an integral equation of the first kind, whose kernel has a logarithmic singularity. An asymptotic solution of the problem is constructed for large times of interaction. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 49, No. 2, pp. 131–142, March–April, 2008.  相似文献

A boundary-element scheme is proposed for the numerical determination of the stress-strain state of a three-dimensional composite body, which is an elastic inclusion of arbitrary shape perfectly bonded to an infinite elastic matrix. The scheme involves the reduction of the original problem to six boundary integral equations for the components of interfacial displacements and forces and the boundary-element parametrization and discretization of these equations using generalized Gaussian integrals and topological maps with regularizing Jacobians. Numerical results are obtained for a cylindrical inclusion with rounded ends in a matrix subject at infinity to constant forces acting along this fiber. The influence of the length-to-radius ratio of the fiber and the ratio of the elastic moduli of the matrix and fiber on the stresses is examined __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 43, No. 4, pp. 27–35, April 2007.  相似文献

A mathematical formulation is given and a solution is found to the quasistatic contact problem of thermoelasticity for a rigid heat-conducting punch moving over an elastic layer with fixed base. The interaction is accompanied by heating due to frictional forces obeying Amonton’s law. The problem is reduced to a system of integral equations with time-varying limits of integration. The structure of these equations depends on the type of thermal and physical conditions on the contact surface. An algorithm is proposed for the numerical solution of this kind of equations. The variation in the contact pressure and contact area with time is studied __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 41, No. 12, pp. 35–46, December 2005.  相似文献

A mechanical and mathematical bending model for a stack of transversely isotropic plates is developed. The resolving equations for deflections and tangential displacements are supplemented with a system of differential equations for normal and tangential contact stresses. It is demonstrated that for stacks consisting of an arbitrary number of identical plates with no friction between them, the initial system of equations for contact stresses can be reduced to Helmholtz equations. This transition allows obtaining the complete eigenvalue spectrum for the Laplasian of the problem and, in special cases, eigenfunctions. They are Krylov functions when bending is cylindrical and Bessel functions when bending is axisymmetric  相似文献

On the Computer Formulations of the Wheel/Rail Contact Problem   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In this investigation, four nonlinear dynamic formulations that can be used in the analysis of the wheel/rail contact are presented, compared and their performance is evaluated. Two of these formulations employ nonlinear algebraic kinematic constraint equations to describe the contact between the wheel and the rail (constraint approach), while in the other two formulations the contact force is modeled using a compliant force element (elastic approach). The goal of the four formulations is to provide accurate nonlinear modeling of the contact between the wheel and the rail, which is crucial to the success of any computational algorithm used in the dynamic analysis of railroad vehicle systems. In the formulations based on the elastic approach, the wheel has six degrees of freedom with respect to the rail, and the normal contact forces are defined as function of the penetration using Hertzs contact theory or using assumed stiffness and damping coefficients. The first elastic method is based on a search for the contact locations using discrete nodal points. As previously presented in the literature, this method can lead to impulsive forces due to the abrupt change in the location of the contact point from one time step to the next. This difficulty is avoided in the second elastic approach in which the contact points are determined by solving a set of algebraic equations. In the formulations based on the constraint approach, on the other hand, the case of a non-conformal contact is assumed, and nonlinear kinematic contact constraint equations are used to impose the contact conditions at the position, velocity and acceleration levels. This approach leads to a model, in which the wheel has five degrees of freedom with respect to the rail. In the constraint approach, the wheel penetration and lift are not permitted, and the normal contact forces are calculated using the technique of Lagrange multipliers and the augmented form of the system dynamic equations. Two equivalent constraint formulations that employ two different solution procedures are discussed in this investigation. The first method leads to a larger system of equations by augmenting all the contact constraint equations to the dynamic equations of motion, while in the second method an embedding procedure is used to obtain a reduced system of equations from which the surface parameter accelerations are systematically eliminated. Numerical results are presented in order to examine the performance of various methods discussed in this study.  相似文献

This paper proposes a semi-analytical model for the two-dimensional contact problem involving a multi-layered elastic solid loaded normally and tangentially by a rigid punch. The solid is comprised of a homogeneous coating and substrate joined together by a graded elastic transition layer whose material properties exhibit an exponential dependence on the vertical coordinate. By applying the Fourier transform to the governing boundary value problem, we formulate analytic expressions for the stresses and displacements induced by the application of line forces acting both normally and tangentially at the origin. The superposition principle is then used to generalise these expressions to the case of distributed normal and tangential tractions acting on the solid surface. A pair of coupled integral equations are further derived for the parabolic stamp problem which are easily solved using collocation methods.  相似文献

Two problems are considered on frictionless indentation of a stamp into the upper face of a layer with a homogeneous field of initial stresses present in the layer. The model of an isotropic incompressible nonlinearly-elastic material determined by the Mooney potential is used. The following two cases are studied: the lower face of the prestressed layer is rigidly fixed, and the lower face of a prestressed layer is supported by a rigid foundation without friction. It is assumed that the additional stresses due to the action of the stamp on the layer are small as compared with the initial stresses. This assumption makes it possible to linearize the problems of determining the additional stresses. In what follows, the problems are reduced to solving two-dimensional integral equations (IE) of the first kind with symmetric irregular kernels with respect to the pressure in the contact region. As an example, the case of an elliptic (in plan) stamp acting on a layer is considered. The spatial contact problem for a prestressed elastic half-space was first considered in [1].  相似文献

Integral relations between three-dimensional dynamic displacements (stresses) in an infinite elastic body with arbitrarily located plane cracks and discontinuities in the displacements of the opposite crack faces are presented. The influence of opening cracks on each other is considered in the problem on crack faces loaded by pulse forces. This problem is reduced to a system of boundary integral equations of the wave-potential type in a time domain. The dynamic mode I stress intensity factors are determined for two coplanar elliptic cracks under forces in the form of the Heaviside function  相似文献

In the theory of elastic thin plates, the bending of a rectangular plate on the elastic foundation is also a difficult problem. This paper provides a rigorous solution by the method of superposition. It satisfies the differential equation, the boundary conditions of the edges and the free corners. Thus we are led to a system of infinite simultaneous equations. The problem solved is for a plate with a concentrated load at its center. The reactive forces from the foundation should be made to be in equilibrium with the concentrated force to see whether our calculation is correct or not.  相似文献

A plane elastic problem for an orthotropic infinite strip with mixed boundary conditions is investigated. A model of the strip has been built by using the method of integral Fourier transforms. We obtain relationships which allow us to formulate singular integral equations for the various types of boundary conditions on one of its edges. The problems in the case of both smooth stamp-strip contact and rigid stamp-strip adhesion have been considered. It is shown that the effect of anisotropy on the contact stress distribution is minor. The stress intensity factors at the stamp corners, which are the main parameters of fracture, are evaluated. The quasi-invariance of a certain combination of the stress intensity factors is confirmed. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Three-dimensional elastostatics of a layer and a layered medium   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
This paper is concerned with the determination of the distribution of stresses and displacements in an infinite three-dimensional, linear, elastic, isotropic, homogeneous layer subjected to concentrated body forces acting upon an arbitrary internal point. In §2 and §3 the governing partial differential field equations are reduced to a system or ordinary differential equations by the use of the two-dimensional Fourier transform, taken with respect to the two in-plane geometric variables (§4). Analytical expressions for the stresses and displacements are then obtained for the particular case of concentrated body forces, represented as Dirac delta functions (§5).The results are subsequently utilized to formulate the multilayered medium problem by means of transfer matrices. In §8 the typical problem of a non-adhesive layered medium is undertaken.  相似文献

The contact problem of indentation of a pair of rigid punches with plane bases connected by an elastic beam into the boundary of an elastic half-plane is considered under the conditions of plane strain state. The external load is generated by lumped forces applied to the punches and a uniformly distributed normal load acting on the beam.It is assumed that the contact between the punch and the elastic half-plane can be described by L. A. Galin’s statement, i.e., it is assumed that the adhesion acts in the interior part of each of the contact regions and the tangential stresses obeying the Coulomb law act on their boundaries. With the symmetry taken into account, the problem is stated only for a single punch, and solving this problem is reduced to a system of four singular integral equations for the tangential and normal stresses in the adhesion region and the contact pressure in the sliding zones. The solution of the constitutive system together with three conditions of equilibrium of the system of punches connected by a beam is constructed by direct numerical integration by the method of mechanical quadratures. As a result of the numerical analysis, the contact stress distribution functions were constructed and the values of the sliding zones and the punch rotation angle were determined for various values of the geometric, elastic, and force characteristics.  相似文献

Summary To evaluate the mechanical strength of fiber-reinforced composites, it is necessary to consider singular stresses at the end of fibers because they cause crack initiation, propagation, and final failure. A square array of rectangular inclusions under longitudinal tension is considered in this paper. The body-force method is applied to a unit cell region. Then, the problem is formulated as a system of singular integral equations, where the unknown functions are the densities of body forces distributed in infinite plates having the same elastic constants as those of the matrix and inclusions. The unknown functions are expressed as piecewise-smooth functions using power series and two types of fundamental densities which express singular stresses. Generalized stress intensity factors at the corners of inclusions are systematically calculated with varying the shape and spacing of a square array of square and rectangular inclusions.  相似文献

This paper examines the problem of finding thermal stresses, caused by a symmetric indentation of a line crack by an inclusion in an infinite isotropic elastic heat conducting solid. The thermal and elastic problems are reduced to a system of triple integral equations. In each case the solution of the triple integral equations is obtained in a closed form. The expressions for the stress intensity factor at the edge of the line crack, the strain energy density function and the resultant pressure applied to the inclusion are obtained. The expression for the displacement component is also obtained. Finally the results for the physical quantities are displayed graphically.  相似文献
