The CD spectrum of the complexesQ·2CuCl2,Q·2CoCl2,Q·2NiCl2·8H2O,Q·3CrCl3·6H2O,Q·PdCl2·3H2O andQ·2PdCl2·5H2O (whereQ=quinine) inDMF orDMSO solution revealsCotton effects in the d-d absorption range. TheCotton effects are relatively strong in the case of Cu(II) and Pd(II) complexes which implies that only in these complexes the hydroxyl group of the quinine molecule possibly participates in the coordination with these metal ions by formation of a chelate ring. The IR spectra of the complexes of Pd(II) are discussed in this respect.

Ni(II) and Cu(II) metal complexes of simple unsymmetrical Schiff-base ligands derived from salicylaldehyde/5-methylsalicylaldehyde and ethylenediamine or diaminomaleonitrile (DMN) were synthesized. The ligands and their complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, FT IR, and mass spectroscopy. The electronic spectra of the complexes show d–d transitions in the region at 450–600 nm. Electrochemical studies of the complexes reveal that all mononuclear complexes show a one-electron quasi-reversible reduction wave in the cathodic region. ESR spectra of the mononuclear copper(II) complexes show four lines, characteristic of square-planar geometry, with nuclear hyperfine spin 3/2. The copper(II) complexes show a normal room temperature magnetic moment value μ eff = 1.70–1.74 BM which is close to the spin only value of 1.73 BM. Kinetic studies on the oxidation of pyrocatechol to o-quinone using the copper(II) complexes as catalysts were also carried out. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the investigated compounds was tested against human pathogenic bacterias such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. The antifungal activity was tested against Candida albicans. Generally, the metal complexes have higher antimicrobial activity than the free ligands.  相似文献

Reactions of cymantrenecarboxylic acid (CO)3MnC5H4COOH (CymCOOH) with Ni(II) and Co(II) pivalates in boiling THF followed by extraction of the products with diethyl ether or benzene and treatment with triphenylphosphine gave the binuclear complexes LM(CymCOO)4ML (M = Ni (I) and Co (II); L = PPh3). Treatment of the benzene extract of the intermediate cobalt cymantrenecarboxylate with 2,6-lutidine (L’) yielded the trinuclear complex L’Co(CymCOO)3Co(CymCOO)3CoL’ (III). Complex I is antiferromagnetic; μeff decreases from 3.7 to 0.9 μB in a temperature range from 300 to 2 K. Structures I-III were identified using X-ray diffraction. The frameworks of complexes I and II are like Chinese lanterns, having four carboxylate bridges and axial ligands L (Ni-P, 2.358(1) Å; Co-P, 2.412(2) Å). The metal atoms are not bonded to each other (Ni…Ni, 2.7583(9) Å; Co…Co, 2808 (2) Å). In complex III, either terminal Co atom is coordinated to one ligand L’ (Co-N, 2.059(2) Å). The Co atoms form a linear chain showing no M-M bonds (Co…Co, 3.346(1) Å), in which either terminal Co atom is linked with the central Co atom by three carboxylate bridges (on average, Cocentr-O, 2.164 Å; COterm-O, 2.094 Å). In one of three carboxylate groups, only one carboxylate O atom serves as a bridge, while the other is bonded to the terminal Co atom only (Coterm-O, 2.094 and 2.389 Å); so this carboxylate group is a bridging and chelating ligand.  相似文献

Reactions of Ni(II) and Mn(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonates with pyrazole-containing nitronylnitroxyl radicals (L) result in dimeric heterospin complexes [M(hfac)2L]2or [M(hfac)2L]2· C6H6. The paramagnetic ligands in the centrosymmetric binuclear molecules function as a bridge, with the nitroxyl O atom being bound to one metal and the imine N atom of the pyrazole ring to the other metal atom. The metal environment is a cis-octahedron with short M–ONOdistances, which specifies a strong antiferromagnetic interaction between the lone electrons of paramagnetic centers in M–O–N< exchange clusters.  相似文献

The title compounds, hexaaquacobalt(II) bis(hypophosphite), [Co(H2O)6](H2PO2)2, and hexaaquacobalt(II)/nickel(II) bis(hypophosphite), [Co0.5Ni0.5(H2O)6](H2PO2)2, are shown to adopt the same structure as hexaaquamagnesium(II) bis(hypophosphite). The packing of the Co(Ni) and P atoms is the same as in the structure of CaF2. The CoII(NiII) atoms have a pseudo‐face‐centred cubic cell, with a = b~ 10.3 Å, and the P atoms occupy the tetrahedral cavities. The central metal cation has a slightly distorted octahedral coordination sphere. The geometry of the hypophosphite anion in the structure is very close to ideal, with point symmetry mm2. Each O atom of the hypophosphite anion is hydrogen bonded to three water molecules from different cation complexes, and each H atom of the hypophosphite anion is surrounded by three water molecules from further different cation complexes.  相似文献

Six new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by the template effect from reaction of 1,4-bis(2-carboxyaldehydephenoxy)butane, Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O or Co(NO3)2 · 6H2O and various diamines. The metal-to-ligand ratios of Ni(II) or Co(II) metal complexes were found to be 1 : 1. Coordination of the Schiff base to Ni(II) and Co(II) through the two nitrogen and two oxygen atom (ONNO) are expected to reduce the electron density in the azomethine link and hydroxyl group. The Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes are proposed to be tetrahedral and are 1 : 2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (ΛM) in DMF (dimethyl formamide) at 10?3 M. The structures are proposed from elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-VIS, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements, and mass spectra.  相似文献

Heteronuclear complexes containing oxorhenium(V), with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and UO2(VI) ions were prepared by the reaction of the complex ligands [ReO(HL1)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (a) and/or [ReO(H2L2)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (b), where H2L1?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine-3-ylhydrazone) and H3L2?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylhydrazone), with transition and actinide salts. Heterodinuclear complexes of ReO(V) with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) were obtained using a 1?:?1 mole ratio of the complex ligand and the metal salt. Heterotrinuclear complexes were obtained containing ReO(V) with UO2(VI) and Cu(II) using 2?:?1 mole ratios of the complex ligand and the metal salts. The complex ligands a and b coordinate with the heterometal ion via a nitrogen of the heterocyclic ring and the nitrogen atom of the C=N7 group. All transition metal cations in the heteronuclear complexes have octahedral configurations, while UO2(VI)?complexes have distorted dodecahedral geometry. The structures of the complexes were elucidated by IR, ESR, electronic and 1H NMR spectra, magnetic moments, conductance and TG-DSC measurements. The antifungal activities of the complex ligands and their heteronuclear complexes towards Alternaria alternata and Aspergillus niger showed comparable behavior with some well-known antibiotics.  相似文献

Three new transition metal tricyanomethanide complexes [Cu(dpyam)(tcm)2] ( 1 ), [Cu(dpyam)(tcm)(OAc)] ( 2 ) and Zn(dpyam)2(tcm)2 ( 3 ) were synthesized and characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. In 1 each copper(II) atom is coordinated to three tcm anions and one dpyam molecule to form a square pyramide geometry. In 2 the coordination geometry around the central metal is also square pyramidal, and each copper atom is surrounded by two tcm anions, one dpyam ligand and one OAc. Both 1 and 2 display a µ1,5‐tcm bridged infinite chain structure. In 3 each zinc(II) atom is coordinated by two tcm anions and two dpyam molecules to form a distorted octahedral geometry. Different from the former two complexes, 3 shows a mononuclear structure. Magnetic susceptibility measurement in the range 2–300 K indicates that there are weak antiferromagnetic couplings between adjacent copper(II) ions in 1 (J=?0.03 cm?1) and 2 (J=?0.11 cm?1) respectively.  相似文献

Some metal complexes of DL–methionine were prepared in aqueous medium and characterized by different physico-chemical methods. Methionine forms 1:2 complexes with metal, M(II). The general empirical formula of the complexes is proposed as [(C5H10NO2S)2MII]; where MII = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II). All the complexes are extremely stable in light and air and optically inactive. Magnetic susceptibility data of the complexes demonstrate that they are high spin paramagnetic complex except Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes. The bonding pattern in the complexes are similar to each other as indicated by electronic absorption spectra and FTIR spectral analysis. The current potential data, peak separation (AE) and the peak current ratio (ipa/ipc) of the (Mn, Cu and Cd) complexes indicate that the charge transfer processes are irreversible, the systems are diffusion controlled and also adsorptive controlled. The charge transfer rate constant of metals in their complexes are less than those in their metal salts at identical experimental conditions due to the coordination of metal with methionine.  相似文献

The geometries and energetics of complexes of Hg(II) and Pb(II) with sulfur‐ and aminopyridine‐containing chelating resin including crosslinked polystyrene immobilizing 2‐aminopyridine via sulfur‐containing (PVBS‐AP), sulfoxide‐containing (PVBSO‐AP), and sulfone‐containing (PVBSO2‐AP) spacer arms have been investigated theoretically, and thus interactions of the metal ions with chelating resins were evaluated. The results indicate that PVBS‐AP behaves as a tridentate ligand to coordinate with the metal ions by S and two N atoms to form chelating compounds with S atom playing a dominant role in the coordination, whereas PVBSO‐AP and PVBSO2‐AP interact with metal cations, respectively, in a tricoordinate manner by O and two N atoms forming chelating complexes. Furthermore, it is revealed that O and N2 atoms of PVBSO‐AP are the main contributor of coordination to Hg(II), whereas N2 atom of PVBSO2‐AP is mainly responsible for the coordination to Hg(II). For PVBSO‐AP‐Pb2+ and PVBSO2‐AP‐Pb2+ complex, the coordination is dominated by the synergetic effect of N1, N2, and O atoms. Natural bond orbital and second‐order perturbation analyses suggest that the charge transfer from the chelating resins to metal ions is mainly dominated by the interactions of lone pair of electrons of the donor atoms with the unoccupied orbitals of metal ions. Hg(II) complexes exhibit larger binding energies than the corresponding Pb(II) complexes, implying the chelating resins exhibit higher affinity toward Hg(II), which is consistent with the experimental results. Combined the theoretical and experimental results, further understanding of the structural information of the complexes and the coordination mechanism was achieved. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with 1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole (L) of the composition ML2(H2O)2(NO3)2 · nH2O (M = Co(II), n = 3; M = Ni(II), n = 0; M = Cu(II), n = 0) were synthesized and studied by photoelectron and IR spectroscopy, magnetochemistry, thermogravimetry, and X-ray powder diffraction analysis. The type of eff(T) relationship suggests that paramagnetic centers in the Co(II) chloride and Cu(II) nitrate and bromide complexes are involved in antiferromagnetic exchange interactions. The exchange energy values were estimated by the molecular field method.  相似文献

Summary New dicyanamide complexes of the typeM[N(CN)2]2 L 2 (M=Cu or Ni;L=2-, 3-, 4-aminopyridine, 2-amino-5-nitropyridine) and Co[N(CN)2]2 (2-amino-5-nitropyridine)2 were prepared and studied by spectroscopic methods as well as by room-temperature magnetic moments. The results show that the Cu(II) complexes have elongated pseudooctahedral structures while the Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes are octahedral. In most cases the N(CN)2 groups are in bridging function and through their cyanide nitrogens, or-more rarely-amide and cyanide nitrogens connect the basic structure units into polymeric conglomerates. In the Cu(II) systems exchange coupling is seen from the eff value or ESR spectrum.

New complexes CuL2×2H2O, CoL2×3H2O, MnL2×2H2O and FeL3×2H2O, L=γ-L -glutamyl-5-(p-nitroanilide), were synthesized and characterized by their spectral, magnetic and thermal properties. The thermal stabilities of the synthesized complexes were examined in the temperature range 20–500°C. In all these complexes γ-L -glutamyl-5-(p -nitroanilide) acts as a bidentate ligand, its coordination involving the carbonyl oxygen and the nitrogen atom of the second amino group. The local structure around the Cu(II) ion is pseudotetrahedral. In the Co(II), Mn(II) and Fe(III) complexes, the metal ions are in the high-spin form, with octahedral stereochemistry. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A new series of binuclear copper(II) complexes were synthesised and studied by magnetic, spectral, ESR and cyclic voltammetry methods. The μeff values per copper atom correspond to the values observed for mononuclear copper(II) complexes. ESR spectral data in solution indicate weak interactions resulting from the electron delocalisation through the ligand system. Two nearly reversible red-ox couples are identified at +?0.50 V and +?0.75 V vs SCE. They correspond to Cu(II)αCu(III) red-ox processes, successively occurring at the two copper sites in the binuclear complexes.  相似文献

A novel route for the synthesis of Cu(II)‐triazolophthalazine complexes using the Cu(II)‐promoted cyclization dehydrogenation reactions of hydrazonophthalazines under reflux was presented. Two hydrazonophthalazines were cyclized to the corresponding triazolophthalazine ligands, 3‐pyridin‐2‐yl‐3,10b‐dihydro‐[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4‐a]phthalazine ( TPP ) and 3‐(3,10b‐dihydro‐[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4‐a]phthalazin‐3‐yl)‐benzoic acid ( TP3COOH ), followed by in situ complexation with Cu(II) yielding six novel Cu(II)‐triazolophthalazine complexes depending on the reaction conditions. The molecular and supramolecular structures of the Cu(II)‐triazolophthalazine complexes were discussed. The metal sites have rectangular pyramidal geometry in the [Cu(TPP)Cl2]2; 1 and [Cu(TP3COOEt)Cl2(H2O)]2; 4 dinuclear complexes, distorted square planar in [Cu(TP3COOMe)2Cl2]; 3 , [Cu(TP3COOH)2Cl2]; 5 and [Cu(TP3COOH)2Cl2]·H2O; 6 and a distorted octahedral in [Cu(TPP)(H2O)2(NO3)2]; 2 . Hirshfeld analysis showed that the O…H, C…H, Cl…H (except TP3COOH and 2 ), N…H and π‐π stacking interactions are the most important intermolecular contacts. The π‐π stacking interactions are the maximum for TP3COOH and complex 6 with net C…C/C…N contacts of 19.4% and 15.4%, respectively. The orbital–orbital interaction energies of the Cu‐N/Cu‐Cl bonds correlated inversely with the corresponding Cu‐N/Cu‐Cl distances, respectively. The charge transfer processes between Cu(II) and ligand groups were also discussed. The charge densities of the Cu(II) centers are reduced to 0.663–0.995 e due to the interactions with the ligand groups coordinating it.  相似文献

New Pd(II) complexes with 1-allyl-3-(2-pyridyl)thiourea (APTU) of the formulas [Pd(C9H11N3S)Cl2] (I) and [Pd(C9H11N3S)2]Cl2 (II) were obtained and examined by UV-Vis, IR, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The conditions for the complexation reactions were optimized. The instability constants and molar absorption coefficients of these complexes were calculated. Comparison of the characteristic bands in the UV-Vis and IR spectra of the complexes and free APTU revealed that the ligand in both complexes is coordinated to the metal atom in the thione form in the bidentate chelating mode through the S atom of the thiourea group and the pyridine N atom. In the UV-Vis spectra of the complexes, the charge transfer bands (π → π* Py) and n → π* (C=NPy), (C=S) experience hypsochromic shifts by 450–470 cm−1 caused by the coordination of APTU to the metal ion, which gives rise to ligand-metal charge-transfer bands (C=NPy → Pd, n → π* (C=S)) and (SPd). The protons in the 6-, 4-, and 3-positions of the pyridine ring and the thiourea NH proton in the chelate ring are most sensitive to the complexation.  相似文献

New Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Mn(II) complexes of the gabapentin (Gpn) bidentate drug ligand were synthesized and studied using elemental analyses, melting temperatures, molar conductivity, UV–Vis, magnetic measurements, FTIR, and surface morphology (scanning (SEM) and transmission (TEM) electron microscopes). The gabapentin ligand was shown to form monobasic metal:ligand (1:1) stoichiometry complexes with the metal ions Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Mn(II). Molar conductance measurements in dimethyl-sulfoxide solvent with a concentration of 10−3 M correlated to a non-electrolytic character for all of the produced complexes. A deformed octahedral environment was proposed for all metal complexes. Through the nitrogen atom of the –NH2 group and the oxygen atom of the carboxylate group, the Gpn drug chelated as a bidentate ligand toward the Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, and Cu2+ metal ions. This coordination behavior was validated by spectroscopic, magnetic, and electronic spectra using the formulas of the [M(Gpn)(H2O)3(Cl)]·nH2O complexes (where n = 2–6).Transmission electron microscopy was used to examine the nanostructure of the produced gabapentin complexes. Molecular docking was utilized to investigate the comparative interaction between the Gpn drug and its four metal [Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Mn(II)] complexes as ligands using serotonin (6BQH) and dopamine (6CM4) receptors. AutoDock Vina results were further refined through molecular dynamics simulation, and molecular processes for receptor–ligand interactions were also studied. The B3LYP level of theory and LanL2DZ basis set was used for DFT (density functional theory) studies. The optimized geometries, along with the MEP map and HOMO → LUMO of the metal complexes, were studied.  相似文献

The 2-methylimidazole complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) orotates, mer-[Co(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)2] (1), mer-[Ni(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)2] (2), [Cu(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)] (3) and [Zn(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)] (4), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (UV–Vis and FT-IR) methods, thermal analysis (TG, DTG and DTA), magnetic susceptibility, antimicrobial activity studies and single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The complexes 1 and 2 have distorted octahedral geometries with two monodentate 2-methylimidazole and one bidentate orotate and two aqua ligands. The complexes 3 and 4 have distorted square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal geometry, respectively, with one 2-methylimidazole, bidentate orotate and aqua ligands. The orotate coordinated to the metal(II) ions through deprotonated nitrogen atom of pyrimidine ring and oxygen atom of carboxylate group as a bidentate ligand. The antimicrobial activities of 1 and 4 were found to be more active gram (+) than gram (−) and 4 could be use for treatment Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

In the three title complexes, namely (2,2′‐biquinoline‐κ2N,N′)dichloropalladium(II), [PdCl2(C18H12N2)], (I), and the corresponding copper(II), [CuCl2(C18H12N2)], (II), and zinc(II) complexes, [ZnCl2(C18H12N2)], (III), each metal atom is four‐coordinate and bonded by two N atoms of a 2,2′‐biquinoline molecule and two Cl atoms. The PdII atom has a distorted cis‐square‐planar coordination geometry, whereas the CuII and ZnII atoms both have a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The dihedral angles between the N—M—N and Cl—M—Cl planes are 14.53 (13), 65.42 (15) and 85.19 (9)° for (I), (II) and (III), respectively. The structure of (II) has twofold imposed symmetry.  相似文献
