This article considers the inverse problem of identification of a time‐dependent thermal diffusivity together with the temperature in an one‐dimensional heat equation with nonlocal boundary and integral overdetermination conditions when a heat exchange takes place across boundary of the material. The well‐posedness of the problem is studied under some regularity, and consistency conditions on the data of the problem together with the nonnegativity condition on the Fourier coefficients of the initial data and source term. The inverse problem is also studied numerically by using the Crank–Nicolson finite difference scheme combined with predictor‐corrector technique. We consider the impedance tomography problem for anisotropic conductivities. Given a bounded region Ω in space, a diffeomorphism Ψ from Ω to itself which restricts to the identity on ? Ω, and a conductivity γ on Ω, it is easy to construct a new conductivity Ψ*γ which will produce the same voltage and current measurements on ? Ω. We prove the converse in two dimensions (i.e., if γ1 and γ2 produce the same boundary measurements, then γ1, = Ψ*γ2 for an appropriate Ψ) for conductivities which are near a constant. 相似文献

Under examination is the question on existence and uniqueness of solutions to some inverse problems for a parabolic equation. We look for a solution of this equation and a coefficient with the use of the data of an initial-boundary value problem and the Cauchy data on a part of the boundary of a spatial cylindrical domain. The Note is concerned with an inverse source problem for the Helmholtz equation, which determines the source from measurements of the radiated field away at multiple frequencies. Our main result is a novel stability estimate for the inverse source problem. Our result indicates that the ill-posedness of the inverse problem decreases as the frequency increases. Computationally, a continuation method is introduced to solve the inverse problem by capturing both the macro and the small scales of the source function. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the method. 相似文献

Based on the two‐dimensional stationary Oseen equation we consider the problem to determine the shape of a cylindrical obstacle immersed in a fluid flow from a knowledge of the fluid velocity on some arc outside the obstacle. First, we obtain a uniqueness result for this ill‐posed and non‐linear inverse problem. Then, for the approximate solution we propose a regularized Newton iteration scheme based on a boundary integral equation of the first kind. For a foundation of Newton‐type methods we establish the Fréchet differentiability of the solution to the Dirichlet problem for the Oseen equation with respect to the boundary and investigate the injectivity of the linearized mapping. In remote sensing data assimilation, inverse methods are often used to retrieve the boundary conditions from some of the observations in the interior scanning region. Needless to say, the inverse boundary value problem (IBVP) is ill-conditioned in general. Ultimately, the data assimilation must include mechanisms that enable them to overcome the numerical instability for solving IBVP. In this paper, we begin by studying the behavior of ill-conditioned IBVP, and find that the condition number varies with the number of the observations and distribution locations of the observations. Next, we define the number of equivalent independent equations as a novel measurement of ill-conditioning of a problem, which can measure the degree of bad conditions. Furthermore, the novel measure can answer how many additional observations are needed to stabilize the retrieving problem, and where additional observations are fixed up. Finally, we illustrate the proposed methodology by applying it to the study of precipitation data assimilation, with a particular emphasis on the analysis of the effect of the number of observations and their distribution locations. The new methodology appears to be particularly efficient in tackling the instability of the retrieving problem in data assimilation. 相似文献

We consider an inverse problem for identifying a leading coefficient α(x) in −(α(x)y′(x))′ + q(x)y(x) = H(x), which is known as an inverse coefficient problem for the Sturm-Liouville operator. We transform y(x) to u(x, t) = (1 + t)y(x) and derive a parabolic type PDE in a fictitious time domain of t. Then we develop a Lie-group adaptive method (LGAM) to find the coefficient function α(x). When α(x) is a continuous function of x, we can identify it very well, by giving boundary data of y, y′ and α. The efficiency of LGAM is confirmed by comparing the numerical results with exact solutions. Although the data used in the identification are limited, we can provide a rather accurate solution of α(x). 相似文献

We examine a mixed type equation with the Lavrent??ev-Bitsadze operator and an unknown right-hand side in a rectangle and study a nonlocal boundary value problem in which the values of the stream function on the lateral sides of the rectangle are equal.
