We give a direct proof of the ‘upper’ Khintchine inequality for a noncommutative symmetric (quasi-)Banach function space with nontrivial upper Boyd index. This settles an open question of C. Le Merdy and the fourth named author (Le Merdy and Sukochev, 2008 [24]). We apply this result to derive a version of Rosenthal?s theorem for sums of independent random variables in a noncommutative symmetric space. As a result we obtain a new proof of Rosenthal?s theorem for (Haagerup) Lp-spaces. 相似文献

Let X be a rearrangement invariant function space on [0,1]. We consider the Rademacher multiplicator space Λ(R,X) of all measurable functions x such that x⋅h∈X for every a.e. converging series h=∑anrn∈X, where (rn) are the Rademacher functions. We study the situation when Λ(R,X) is a rearrangement invariant space different from L∞. Particular attention is given to the case when X is an interpolation space between the Lorentz space Λ(φ) and the Marcinkiewicz space M(φ). Let X be a rearrangement invariant function space on [0,1]. We consider the subspace Radi X of X which consists of all functions of the form , where xk are arbitrary independent functions from X and rk are usual Rademacher functions independent of {xk}. We prove that Radi X is complemented in X if and only if both X and its Köthe dual space X′ possess the so-called Kruglov property. As a consequence we show that the last conditions guarantee that X is isomorphic to some rearrangement invariant function space on [0,∞). We analyze polar actions on Hermitian and quaternion-Kähler symmetric spaces of compact type. For complex integrable polar actions on Hermitian symmetric spaces of compact type we prove a reduction theorem and several corollaries concerning the geometry of these actions. The results are independent of the classification of polar actions on Hermitian symmetric spaces. In the second part we prove that polar actions on Wolf spaces are quaternion-coisotropic and that isometric actions on these spaces admit an orbit of special type, analogous to the existence of a complex orbit for an isometric action on a compact homogeneous simply connected Kähler manifold. 相似文献

We prove an atomic type decomposition for the noncommutative martingale Hardy space for all by an explicit constructive method using algebraic atoms as building blocks. Using this elementary construction, we obtain a weak form of the atomic decomposition of for all , and provide a constructive proof of the atomic decomposition for which resolves a main problem on the subject left open for the last twelve years. We also study -atoms, and show that every -atom can be decomposed into a sum of -atoms; consequently, for every , the -atoms lead to the same atomic space for all . As applications, we obtain a characterization of the dual space of the noncommutative martingale Hardy space () as a noncommutative Lipschitz space via the weak form of the atomic decomposition. For a closed cocompact subgroup Γ of a locally compact group G, given a compact abelian subgroup K of G and a homomorphism satisfying certain conditions, Landstad and Raeburn constructed equivariant noncommutative deformations of the homogeneous space G/Γ, generalizing Rieffel's construction of quantum Heisenberg manifolds. We show that when G is a Lie group and G/Γ is connected, given any norm on the Lie algebra of G, the seminorm on induced by the derivation map of the canonical G-action defines a compact quantum metric. Furthermore, it is shown that this compact quantum metric space depends on ρ continuously, with respect to quantum Gromov-Hausdorff distances. 相似文献

We investigate the totally geodesic Radon transform which assigns a function to its integration over totally geodesic symmetric submanifolds in Riemannian symmetric spaces of noncompact type. Our main concern is focused on the injectivity and support theorem. Our approach is based on the projection slice theorem relating the totally geodesic Radon transform and the Fourier transforms on symmetric spaces.
