A simple one-dimensional spring-block chain with asymmetric interactions is considered to model an idealized single-lane highway traffic. The main elements of the system are blocks (modeling cars), springs with unidirectional interactions (modeling distance-keeping interactions between neighbors), static and kinetic friction (modeling inertia of drivers and cars) and spatiotemporal disorder in the values of these friction forces (modeling differences in the driving attitudes). The traveling chain of cars correspond to the dragged spring-block system. Contrary to most of the studies in the field of highway traffic here we focus on a measure characteristic for one car in the row. Our statistical analysis for the spring-block chain predicts a non-trivial and rich complex behavior. As a function of the disorder level in the system a dynamic phase-transition is observed. For low disorder levels uncorrelated slidings of blocks are revealed while for high disorder levels correlated avalanches dominates.  相似文献

The original Olami-Feder-Christensen (OFC) model, which displays a robust power-law behavior, is a quasistatic two-dimensional version of the Burridge--Knopoff spring-block model of earthquakes. In this paper, we introduce a modified OFC model based on heterogeneous network, improving the redistribution rule of the original model. It can be seen as a generalization of the original OFC model. We numerically investigate the influence of theparameters θ and β, which respectively control the intensity of the evolutivemechanism of the topological growth and the inner selection dynamicsin our networks, and find that there are two distinct phases in theparameter space (θ, β). Meanwhile, we study the influence of the control parameter a either. Increasing a, the earthquake behavior of the model transfers from local to global.  相似文献

Fracture patterns resulting from point-like impact acting perpendicularly on the plane of a commercial sodalime glass plate is modelled by a spring-block system. The characteristic patterns consist of crack lines that are spreading radially from the impact point and concentric arcs intersecting these radial lines. Experimental results suggest that the number of radial crack lines is scaling linearly with the energy dissipated during the crack formation process. The elaborated spring-block model reproduces with success the observed fracture patterns and scaling law.  相似文献

In the spring-block models of earthquakes, one of the key factors is the dynamic friction term which determines the complexity of the faulting process. Generally, two kinds of friction, namely velocity-dependent friction and slip-dependent friction, are used in the modelling. But until now there has still been a lack of information on which kind of friction term is more suitable for modelling the phenomenology of earthquakes. Based on the numerical studies of Shaw (1998 Bull. Seismol. Soc. Am. 88 1457), we have examined the ratio of the broadband radiated energy and the scalar seismic moment of shallow earthquakes worldwide from 1987 to 1998. The result shows that for earthquakes with strike-slip mechanisms, velocity-dependent friction seems to be predominant, while for thrust and normal events, slip-dependent friction seems predominant. This suggests that in the spring-block models for earthquakes, the type of focal mechanism has to be accounted for, and different types of earthquakes require different dynamic friction terms in the corresponding spring-block model.  相似文献

The self-organized critical (SOC) spring-block models are accessible and powerful computational tools for the study of seismic subduction. This work aims to highlight some important findings through an integrative approach of several actual seismic properties, reproduced by using the Olami, Feder, and Christensen (OFC) SOC model and some variations of it. A few interesting updates are also included. These results encompass some properties of the power laws present in the model, such as the Gutenberg-Richter (GR) law, the correlation between the parameters a and b of the linear frequency-magnitude relationship, the stepped plots for cumulative seismicity, and the distribution of the recurrence times of large earthquakes. The spring-block model has been related to other relevant properties of seismic phenomena, such as the fractal distribution of fault sizes, and can be combined with the work of Aki, who established an interesting relationship between the fractal dimension and the b-value of the Gutenberg-Richter relationship. Also included is the work incorporating the idea of asperities, which allowed us to incorporate several inhomogeneous models in the spring-block automaton. Finally, the incorporation of a Ruff-Kanamori-type diagram for synthetic seismicity, which is in reasonable accordance with the original Ruff and Kanamori diagram for real seismicity, is discussed.  相似文献

We describe a 2D spring-block model for the transition from static to kinetic friction at an elastic-slider-rigid-substrate interface obeying a minimalistic friction law (Amontons-Coulomb). By using realistic boundary conditions, a number of previously unexplained experimental results on precursory microslip fronts are successfully reproduced. From the analysis of the interfacial stresses, we derive a prediction for the evolution of the precursor length as a function of the applied loads, as well as an approximate relationship between microscopic and macroscopic friction coefficients. We show that the stress buildup due to both elastic loading and microslip-related relaxations depends only weakly on the underlying shear crack propagation dynamics. Conversely, crack speed depends strongly on both the instantaneous stresses and the friction coefficients, through a nontrivial scaling parameter.  相似文献

Spatiotemporal correlations of earthquakes are studied numerically on the basis of the one-dimensional spring-block (Burridge-Knopoff) model. As large events approach, the frequency of smaller events gradually increases, while, just before the mainshock, it is dramatically suppressed in a close vicinity of the epicenter of the upcoming mainshock, a phenomenon closely resembling the "Mogi doughnut."  相似文献

介绍了光弹性分组环(ORPR)节点模型,分析了ORPR网络中流量成型时光分组组装算法,提出一种适合ORPR网络的基于控制发送时间的光分组组装算法,给出了该算法的算法结构,并和传统的光分组组装算法做了比较。该算法通过分组发送间隔的调整,使得分组单位时间内的流量的自相似性被平滑,具有很好地抑制突发性的效果,同时,分组组装的时间门限可以被ORPR调度算法动态调整,可以适应缺乏缓存的ORPR网络的调度机制。  相似文献

Fracture in quasistatically driven systems is studied by means of a discrete spring-block model. Developed from close comparison with desiccation experiments, it describes crack formation induced by friction on a substrate. The model produces cellular, hierarchical patterns of cracks, characterized by a mean fragment size linear in the layer thickness, in agreement with experiments. The selection of a stationary fragment size is explained by exploiting the correlations prior to cracking. A scaling behavior associated with the thickness and substrate coupling, derived and confirmed by simulations, suggests why patterns have similar morphology despite their disparity in scales.  相似文献

基于Newell跟驰模型,建立考虑车与车互联(vehicle-to-vehicle,V2V)通讯技术的单车道跟驰模型.根据V2V技术的特征,引入参数α以表征驾驶员在收到V2V技术所提供的实时交通信息后的提前反应程度.根据线性稳定分析方法,得到V2V跟驰模型的中性稳定条件.通过计算机的模拟,研究V2V技术对交通流运行的影响,分析小扰动下V2V跟驰模型对参数变化的敏感性,研究不同α取值下交通流密度波及迟滞回环的变化.研究发现:1)与全速度差跟驰模型相比,在引入V2V后,交通流在加速起步、减速刹车及遇到突发事件时,车辆运行的安全性和舒适性均得到不同程度的提升;2)V2V跟驰模型对参数α及T的变化较为敏感,且在交通流较为拥堵时,V2V技术的引入可以提升交通流的平均速度;3)参数α的增大、T的减小可以有效提升V2V跟驰模型在不同交通环境下的运行稳定性.由于可以实时地获取交通流运行的状态并针对性地改变车辆自身的运行,V2V交通流跟驰模型提升了交通流运行的稳定性.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a simple spring-block model for ocean internal waves based on the self-organized criticality (SOC). The oscillations of the water blocks in the model display power-law behavior with an exponent of -2 in the frequency domain, which is similar to the current and sea water temperature spectra in the actual ocean and the universal Garrett and Munk deep ocean internal wave model [Geophysical Fluid Dynamics 2 (1972) 225; J. Geophys. Res. 80 (1975) 291]. The influence of the ratio of the driving force to the spring coefficient to SOC behaviors in the model is also discussed.  相似文献

平面背景流量的强度是光突发交换网络中的一个重要参数。该参数直接影响网络的性能并约束网络边缘节点的组装算法。指出了在配置波长转换器的情况下,核心节点控制平面的服务速率是与背景流量密切相关的随机变量而不是确定性变量。构建了M/D/1和一种特殊的M/G/1排队模型分别描述不同配置的核心节点的行为,并以剩余偏置时间为观测变量,构建了核心节点的背景流量估计模型。仿真和数值分析表明,该模型能够实时反映出核心节点控制平面的背景流量强度。  相似文献

采用双车道元胞自动机模型,分析了考虑驾驶心理的城市道路交通流特性.针对驾驶员在城市道路行驶时在换道与减速制动方面的不同心理,分别引入了反映驾驶心理的选择换道概率Ps与安全参数λ.通过计算机模拟,给出了不同选择换道概率与安全参数条件下的车辆速度、密度与流量间的关系,并分析了不同驾驶心理对于交通系统的影响.研究发现:选择换道概率对交通流的速度影响并不明显,但选择换道概率的增大会导致速度的方差增大而降低行车安全;而安全参数的增大可以获得更快的平均车速和更大的交通 关键词: 元胞自动机 驾驶心理 选择换道概率 计算机模拟  相似文献

Processes with long-range dependence (LRD) have gained wide applications in many fields of science and technologies ranging from hydrology to network traffic. Two key properties of such processes are LRD that is characterized by the Hurst parameter H and self-similarity (SS) that is measured by the fractal dimension D. However, in the popular traffic model using fractional Gaussian noise (fGn), these two parameters are linearly related. This may be regarded as a limitation of fGn in traffic modeling from the point of view of either accurately fitting real traffic or appropriately explaining the particular multi-fractal phenomena of traffic. In this paper, we discuss recent results in traffic modeling from a view of the generalized Cauchy (GC) process. The GC process is indexed by two parameters D and H. The parameter D in the GC model is independent of H. Hence, it provides a more flexible way to describe the multi-fractal phenomena of traffic in addition to accurately modeling traffic for both short-term lags and long-term ones.  相似文献

In this Letter, a new lattice model is presented with the consideration of the driver?s forecast effects (DFE). The linear stability condition of the extended model is obtained by using the linear stability theory. The analytical results show that the new model can improve the stability of traffic flow by considering DFE. The modified KdV equation near the critical point is derived to describe the traffic jam by nonlinear analysis. Numerical simulation also shows that the new model can improve the stability of traffic flow by adjusting the driver?s forecast intensity parameter, which is consistent with the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, a new lattice hydrodynamic traffic flow model is proposed by considering the driver’s anticipation effect in sensing relative flux (DAESRF) for two-lane system. The effect of anticipation parameter on the stability of traffic flow is examined through linear stability analysis and shown that the anticipation term can significantly enlarge the stability region on the phase diagram. To describe the phase transition of traffic flow, mKdV equation near the critical point is derived through nonlinear analysis. The theoretical findings have been verified using numerical simulation which confirms that traffic jam can be suppressed efficiently by considering the anticipation effect in the new lattice model for two-lane traffic.  相似文献

为了更加客观地描述实际的车辆跟驰行为, 在优化速度模型的基础上, 通过引入横向分离参数并提出超车期望和虚拟前车的概念, 建立了考虑横向分离与超车期望的车辆跟驰模型.对模型进行线性稳定性分析, 得到了模型稳定性条件, 发现车辆横向分离、超车期望和虚拟前车的位置的增加, 在车流密度较小、车速较快的情况下, 使得交通流稳定区域增大, 但在车流密度较大、车速较慢的情况下, 反而使得交通流稳定区域减小.数值模拟结果验证了模型稳定性分析的结果, 表明在交通瓶颈处等交通流密度较大、运行缓慢的区域, 为抑制交通拥堵, 应该限制车辆的横向偏移和超车行为的发生. 关键词: 交通流 车辆跟驰模型 横向分离 超车期望  相似文献

在分析应急车辆对城市道路交通流影响的基础上, 引入让行状态参数、警笛影响区域和强制换道安全距离等特征变量, 修改换道规则, 建立了多车道元胞自动机模型, 并进行数值模拟. 结果表明, 车道数量和混合车辆比例系数在低密度范围内影响车辆速度及换道次数, 警笛影响区域参数改变了一定范围内车辆的换道次数, 应急车辆强制换道安全距离参数主要影响应急车辆的速度及换道次数.研究发现, 应急车辆对低密度交通流的扰动现象明显, 其与社会车辆相互作用参数的设置使得交通流元胞自动机模型更接近应急条件下实际交通运行. 关键词: 交通流 元胞自动机 应急车辆  相似文献

Urban transportation with multiple roundabouts is facing significant challenges such as traffic congestion, gridlock and traffic accidents. In order to understand these behaviors, we propose a two-dimensional cellular automata (CA) model, where all streets are two-way, with one lane in each direction. To allow the turning movement, a roundabout is designed for each intersection where four roads meet. The distance between each pair of roundabouts is configured with the parameter K while the turning behavior of drivers is modeled by a parameter γ. To study the impact of these different parameters on the urban traffic, several traffic metrics are considered such as traffic flow, average velocity, accident probability and waiting time at the entrance of roundabout. Our simulation results show that the urban traffic is in free flow state when the vehicle’s density is low enough. However, when the density exceeds a critical density ρc, the urban traffic will be in gridlock state whenever γ is nonzero. In the case where γ=0, the urban traffic presents a phase transition between free flow and congested state. Furthermore, detailed analysis of the traffic metrics shows that the model parameters (γ, K) have a significant effects on urban traffic dynamics.  相似文献
