The dynamic magnetic behavior of the mixed Ising bilayer system (σ=2σ=2 and S=5/2S=5/2), with a crystal-field interaction in an oscillating field are studied, within the mean-field approach, by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics for both ferromagnetic/ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic/ferromagnetic interactions. The time variations of average magnetizations and the temperature dependence of the dynamic magnetizations are investigated. The dynamic phase diagrams are presented in the reduced temperature and magnetic field amplitude plane and they exhibit several ordered phases, coexistence phase regions and critical points as well as a re-entrant behavior depending on interaction parameters.  相似文献

The physical properties of arbitrary half-integer spins F=N−1/2F=N1/2 fermionic cold atoms loaded into a one-dimensional optical lattice are investigated by means of a conformal field theory approach. We show that for attractive interactions two different superfluid phases emerge for F?3/2F?3/2: A BCS pairing phase, and a molecular superfluid phase which is formed from bound-states made of 2N   fermions. In the low-energy approach, the competition between these instabilities and charge-density waves is described in terms of ZNZN parafermionic degrees of freedom. The quantum phase transition for F=3/2,5/2F=3/2,5/2 is universal and shown to belong to the Ising and three-state Potts universality classes respectively. In contrast, for F?7/2F?7/2, the transition is non-universal. For a filling of one atom per site, a Mott transition occurs and the nature of the possible Mott-insulating phases are determined.  相似文献

We set up a strategy for studying large families of logarithmic conformal field theories by using the enlarged symmetries and non-semisimple associative algebras appearing in their lattice regularizations (as discussed in a companion paper [N. Read, H. Saleur, Enlarged symmetry algebras of spin chains, loop models, and S-matrices, cond-mat/0701259]). Here we work out in detail two examples of theories derived as the continuum limit of XXZ spin-1/2 chains, which are related to spin chains with supersymmetry algebras gl(n|n)gl(n|n) and gl(n+1|n)gl(n+1|n), respectively, with open (or free) boundary conditions in all cases. These theories can also be viewed as vertex models, or as loop models. Their continuum limits are boundary conformal field theories (CFTs) with central charge c=−2c=2 and c=0c=0 respectively, and in the loop interpretation they describe dense polymers and the boundaries of critical percolation clusters, respectively. We also discuss the case of dilute (critical) polymers as another boundary CFT with c=0c=0. Within the supersymmetric formulations, these boundary CFTs describe the fixed points of certain nonlinear sigma models that have a supercoset space as the target manifold, and of Landau–Ginzburg field theories. The submodule structures of indecomposable representations of the Virasoro algebra appearing in the boundary CFT, representing local fields, are derived from the lattice. A central result is the derivation of the fusion rules for these fields.  相似文献

The coincidence problem is studied in the effective Yang–Mills condensate dark energy model. As the effective YM Lagrangian is completely determined by quantum field theory, there is no adjustable parameter in this model except the energy scale, and the cosmic evolution only depends on the initial conditions. For generic initial conditions with the YM condensate subdominant to the radiation and matter, the model always has a tracking solution, the Universe transits from matter-dominated into the dark energy dominated stage only recently z∼0.3z0.3, and evolve to the present state with Ωy∼0.73Ωy0.73 and Ωm∼0.27Ωm0.27.  相似文献

We use tight-binding model including curvature effects to study the effect of transverse electric field on the persistent currents of armchair and zigzag carbon nanotubes (ACNTs and ZCNTs) threaded by longitudinal magnetic field. With increasing field strength, ZCNTs could undergo zero-gap transitions, whereas metallic ACNTs are not affected. The current amplitude, without electric field, in a (m,mm,m) ACNT is inversely proportional to m2m2. However, for a (m,0m,0) ZCNT, it is determined by the modulus of m with respect to three. Electric field could enhance the current amplitude of an ACNT, but could not change its magnetism. As for a ZCNT, both electric-field-distorted electronic states and zero-gap transitions determine a change in magnetism that is pronouncedly related with nanotube's geometry.  相似文献

We study the electromagnetic wave propagation in the joint dilaton field and axion field. Dilaton field induces amplification/attenuation in the propagation while axion field induces polarization rotation. The amplification/attenuation induced by dilaton is independent of the frequency (energy) and the polarization of electromagnetic waves (photons). From observations, the agreement with and the precise calibration of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) to blackbody radiation constrains the fractional change of dilaton |Δψ|/ψ|Δψ|/ψ to less than about 8×10−48×104 since the time of the last scattering surface of the CMB.  相似文献

We formulate four-dimensional higher spin gauge theories in spacetimes with signature (4−p,p)(4p,p) and non-vanishing cosmological constant. Among them are chiral models in Euclidean (4,0)(4,0) and Kleinian (2,2)(2,2) signature involving half-flat gauge fields. Apart from the maximally symmetric solutions, including de Sitter spacetime, we find: (a) SO(4−p,p)SO(4p,p) invariant deformations, depending on one continuous and infinitely many discrete parameters, including a degenerate metric of rank one; (b) non-maximally symmetric solutions with vanishing Weyl tensors and higher spin gauge fields, that differ from the maximally symmetric solutions in the auxiliary field sector; and (c) solutions of the chiral models furnishing higher spin generalizations of type D gravitational instantons, with an infinite tower of Weyl tensors proportional to totally symmetric products of two principal spinors. These are apparently the first exact 4D solutions with non-vanishing massless higher spin fields.  相似文献

The grand partition functions Z(T,B)Z(T,B) of the Ising model on L×LL×L triangular lattices with fully periodic boundary conditions, as a function of temperature T and magnetic field B  , are evaluated exactly for L<12L<12 (using microcanonical transfer matrix) and approximately for L?12L?12 (using Wang–Landau Monte Carlo algorithm). From Z(T,B)Z(T,B), the distributions of the partition function zeros of the triangular-lattice Ising model in the complex temperature plane for real B≠0B0 are obtained and discussed for the first time. The critical points aN(x)aN(x) and the thermal scaling exponents yt(x)yt(x) of the triangular-lattice Ising antiferromagnet, for various values of x=e−2βBx=e2βB, are estimated using the partition function zeros.  相似文献

A new powerful method to test the stability of the replica symmetric spin glass phase is proposed by introducing a replicon generator function g(v)g(v). Exact symmetry arguments are used to prove that its extremum is proportional to the inverse spin glass susceptibility. By the idea of independent droplet excitations a scaling form for g(v)g(v) can be derived, whereas it can be exactly computed in the mean field Sherrington–Kirkpatrick model. It is shown by a first order perturbative treatment that the replica symmetric phase is unstable down to dimensions d?6d?6, and the mean field scaling function proves to be very robust. Although replica symmetry breaking is escalating for decreasing dimensionality, a mechanism caused by the infrared divergent replicon propagator may destroy the mean field picture at some low enough dimension.  相似文献

The dynamic behavior of a mixed spin-1 and spin-2 Ising system with a crystal-field interaction in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field on a hexagonal lattice is studied by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=1σ=1 and S=2. The Hamiltonian model includes intersublattice, intrasublattice and crystal-field interactions. The set of mean-field dynamic equations is obtained by employing the Glauber transition rates. Firstly, we study time variations of the average sublattice magnetizations in order to find the phases in the system, and the thermal behavior of the average sublattice magnetizations in a period or the dynamic sublattice magnetizations to obtain the dynamic phase transition points as well as to characterize the nature (continuous and discontinuous) of transitions. Then, the behavior of the dynamic total magnetization as a function of the temperature is investigated to find the dynamic compensation points as well as determine the type of behavior. We also present the dynamic phase diagrams for both presence and absence of the dynamic compensation temperatures in the nine different planes. According to the values of Hamiltonian parameters, besides the paramagnetic (p), antiferromagnetic (af), ferrimagnetic (i) and non-magnetic (nm) fundamental phases, eight different mixed phases and the compensation temperature or L- and N-types behavior in the Néel classification nomenclature exist in the system.  相似文献

We have studied the anisotropic two-dimensional nearest-neighbor Ising model with competitive interactions in both uniform longitudinal field HH and transverse magnetic field ΩΩ. Using the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlation in cluster with N=1N=1 spin we calculate the thermodynamic properties as a function of temperature with values HH and ΩΩ fixed. The model consists of ferromagnetic interaction JxJx in the xx direction and antiferromagnetic interaction JyJy in the yy direction, and it is found that for H/Jy∈[0,2]H/Jy[0,2] the system exhibits a second-order phase transition. The thermodynamic properties are obtained for the particular case of λ=Jx/Jy=1λ=Jx/Jy=1 (isotropic square lattice).  相似文献

The Ising model in the presence of a random field, drawn from the asymmetric and anisotropic trimodal probability distribution P(hi)=pδ(hih0)+qδ(hi+λ∗h0)+rδ(hi)P(hi)=pδ(hih0)+qδ(hi+λh0)+rδ(hi), is investigated. The partial probabilities p,q,rp,q,r take on values within the interval [0,1][0,1] consistent with the constraint p+q+r=1p+q+r=1; asymmetric distribution, hihi is the random field variable with basic absolute value h0h0 (strength); λλ is the competition parameter, which is the ratio between the respective strength of the random magnetic field in the two principal directions (+z)(+z) and (−z)(z) and is positive so that the random fields are competing, anisotropic distribution. This probability distribution is an extension of the bimodal one allowing for the existence in the lattice of non magnetic particles or vacant sites. The current random field Ising system displays mainly second order phase transitions, which, for some values of p,qp,q and h0h0, are followed by first order phase transitions joined smoothly by a tricritical point; occasionally, two tricritical points appear implying another second order phase transition. In addition to these points, re-entrant phenomena can be seen for appropriate ranges of the temperature and random field for specific values of λλ, pp and qq. Using the variational principle, we write down the equilibrium equation for the magnetization and solve it for both phase transitions and at the tricritical point in order to determine the magnetization profile with respect to h0h0, considered as an independent variable in addition to the temperature.  相似文献

Accurate calculations for the ground state of the molecular ions He3+2 and HeH2+ placed in a strong magnetic field B?102 a.u.B?102 a.u. (≈2.35×1011 G2.35×1011 G) using the Lagrange-mesh method are presented. The Born–Oppenheimer approximation of zero order (infinitely massive centers) and the parallel configuration (molecular axis parallel to the magnetic field) are considered. Total energies are found with 9–10 s.d. The obtained results show that the molecular ions He3+2 and HeH2+ exist at B>100 a.u.B>100 a.u. and B>1000 a.u.B>1000 a.u., respectively, as predicted in Turbiner and López Vieyra (2007) [1] while a saddle point in the potential curve appears for the first time at B∼80 a.u.B80 a.u. and B∼740 a.u.B740 a.u., respectively.  相似文献
