Semi-infinite systems are considered with long-range surface fields B z –(1+r) for large distancesz from the surface. The influence of such fields on the global phase diagram and on the critical singularities of depinning transitions is studied within Landau theory. For |B|0, the correlation length diverges as b –1/2 withb=|Bln|B–(1+r). For finiteB, t v withv =(2+r)/(2+2r) wheret measures the distance from bulk coexistence. In the latter case, a Ginzburg criterion leads to the upper critical dimensiond *=(2+3r)/(2+r).  相似文献

The current and logarithm-of-the-current distributionsn(i) andn(ln i) on bond diluted two-dimensional random-resistor networks at the percolation threshold are studied by a modified transfer matrix method. Thek th moment (–9k8) of n(ln i) i.e., ln i&k, is found to scale with the linear sizeL as (InL)(k). The exponents (k) are not inconsistent with the recent theoretical prediction (k)=k, with deviations which may be attributed to severe finitesize effects. For small currents, ln n(y), yielding information on the threshold below which the multifractality of (i) breaks down. Our numerical results for the moments of the currents are consistent with other available results.  相似文献

The usual way of obtaining rate equations (RE) and a single equation for the field amplitude (EFA) from the semiclassical laser equations (Lorenz-Haken model) is reexamined by undertaking a systematic elimination procedure developed in synergetics. The RE and EFA are justified in the case 1 (, ) and case 2 (, ), respectively. We show that, because the eliminated variable happens to contain a considerable contribution from an unstable mode, the usual elimination technique in the case 3 (, ) leads to an inconsistency. As important by-products we obtain the RE and EFA for arbitrary cavity relaxation constant (). Some remarks are given on the direct elimination technique in the non-diagonal representation in the study of instabilities.  相似文献

Expressions are obtained for the spectral-angular characteristics of the radiation in two limiting cases: 1 and 1 ( is the angle of deflection of the electron in the field, and is the energy of the electron in units of mc2). In the traditional form of canonical quantization, certain field components (not having conjugate momenta) must be regarded as noncanonical. This long-known distinction enters modern gauge theories, when they are canonically quantized as by Kugo and Ojima. We avoid that peculiarity by not using any conjugate momenta at all. The ac resistivity of a 110 K phase multiphase polycrystalline Ca-Sr-Bi-Cu-O compound and an 85 K phase single-crystalline Ca0.9Sr2.1Cu2.0O8 + has been measured in various magnetic fields up to 8 T. Values forB c 2/ (0) of 71.5 T and forB c2 (0) of 542 T are found for the 85 K phase sample. A value forB c2(0) of 57.9 T is estimated for the 110K phase compound.  相似文献

We consider some models of classical statistical mechanics which admit an investigation by means of the theory of dominant ground states. Our models are related to the Gibbs ensemble for the multidimensional SOS model with symmetric constraints x m/2. The main result is that for 0, where 0 does not depend onm, the structure of thermodynamic phases in the model is determined by dominant ground states: for an evenm a Gibbs state is unique and for an oddm the number of space-periodic pure Gibbs states is two.  相似文献

Successive band-splitting transitions occur in the one-dimensional map xi+1=g(xi),i=0, 1, 2,... withg(x)=x, (0 x 1/2) –x +, (1/2 <x 1) as the parameter is changed from 2 to 1. The transition point fromN (=2n) bands to 2Nbands is given by=(2)1/N (n=0, 1,2,...). The time-correlation function i=xix0/(x0)2,xi xi–xi is studied in terms of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Frobenius-Perron operator of the map. It is shown that, near the transition point=2, i–[(10–42)/17] i,0-[(102-8)/51]i,1 + [(7 + 42)/17](–1)ie–yi, where2(–2) is the damping constant and vanishes at=2, representing the critical slowing-down. This critical phenomenon is in strong contrast to the topologically invariant quantities, such as the Lyapunov exponent, which do not exhibit any anomaly at=2. The asymptotic expression for i has been obtained by deriving an analytic form of i for a sequence of which accumulates to 2 from the above. Near the transition point=(2)1/N, the damping constant of i fori N is given by N=2(N-2)/N. Numerical calculation is also carried out for arbitrary a and is shown to be consistent with the analytic results.  相似文献

The critical behaviour of axially anisotropicn-vector models is characterized by two distinct length scales, the correlation lengths and for the easy and hard axes. In order to handle the full range of anisotropics from to partial differential renormalization group equations are derived, depending on and . The anisotropicX-Y model is studied in detail near four dimensions. The crossover scaling functions for the susceptibilities are calculated to first order in=4–d. The distribution of relaxation times is derived for dielectrics with constants featuring general functions in the - plane. A simple algorithm to determine the distribution parameters is also suggested. The algebraic method adopted enables translation of the algorithm into software to facilitate an efficient processing of data. The dually conjugate Hopf superalgebras Fun p,q (GL(11)) and U p,q (gl(11)) are studied using the Frønsdal-Galindo approach and the full Hopf structure of U p,q (gl(11)) is extracted. A finite expression for the universal T-matrix, identified with the dual form and expressing the generalization of the exponential map of the classical groups, is obtained for Fun p,q (GL(11)). In a representation with a colour index, the T-matrix assumes a form that satisfies a coloured graded Yang-Baxter equation.  相似文献

We study a one-dimensional model for fracture, identifying fractured areas with intervals on which a stress field exceeds a threshold value. Two random aggregation models are used in demonstrating the properties of the random displacementsr i of the center of mass of aggregating particles. It is found that r i is a randomly decreasing sequence that scales with the cluster size (steps)s and i =1/s r i s 1/D , whereD is the fractal dimension.
