An approximate martingale estimating function with an eigenfunction is proposed for an estimation problem about an unknown drift parameter for a one-dimensional diffusion process with small perturbed parameter ε from discrete time observations at n regularly spaced time points k/n, k=0,1,…,n. We show asymptotic efficiency of an M-estimator derived from the approximate martingale estimating function as ε→0 and n→∞ simultaneously. 相似文献

We discuss joint temporal and contemporaneous aggregation of N independent copies of AR(1) process with random-coefficient a∈[0,1) when N and time scale n increase at different rate. Assuming that a has a density, regularly varying at a=1 with exponent −1<β<1, different joint limits of normalized aggregated partial sums are shown to exist when N1/(1+β)/n tends to (i) ∞, (ii) 0, (iii) 0<μ<∞. The limit process arising under (iii) admits a Poisson integral representation on (0,∞)×C(R) and enjoys ‘intermediate’ properties between fractional Brownian motion limit in (i) and sub-Gaussian limit in (ii). 相似文献

We derive a Molchan–Golosov-type integral transform which changes fractional Brownian motion of arbitrary Hurst index K into fractional Brownian motion of index H. Integration is carried out over [0,t], t>0. The formula is derived in the time domain. Based on this transform, we construct a prelimit which converges in L2(P)-sense to an analogous, already known Mandelbrot–Van Ness-type integral transform, where integration is over (−∞,t], t>0. 相似文献

Consider events of the form {Zs≥ζ(s),s∈S}, where Z is a continuous Gaussian process with stationary increments, ζ is a function that belongs to the reproducing kernel Hilbert space R of process Z, and S⊂R is compact. The main problem considered in this paper is identifying the function β∗∈R satisfying β∗(s)≥ζ(s) on S and having minimal R-norm. The smoothness (mean square differentiability) of Z turns out to have a crucial impact on the structure of the solution. As examples, we obtain the explicit solutions when ζ(s)=s for s∈[0,1] and Z is either a fractional Brownian motion or an integrated Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. 相似文献

In many applications it has been observed that hybrid-Monte Carlo sequences perform better than Monte Carlo and quasi-Monte Carlo sequences, especially in difficult problems. For a mixed s-dimensional sequence m, whose elements are vectors obtained by concatenating d-dimensional vectors from a low-discrepancy sequence q with (s−d)-dimensional random vectors, probabilistic upper bounds for its star discrepancy have been provided. In a paper of G. Ökten, B. Tuffin and V. Burago [G. Ökten, B. Tuffin, V. Burago, J. Complexity 22 (2006), 435–458] it was shown that for arbitrary ε>0 the difference of the star discrepancies of the first N points of m and q is bounded by ε with probability at least 1−2exp(−ε2N/2) for N sufficiently large. The authors did not study how large N actually has to be and if and how this actually depends on the parameters s and ε. In this note we derive a lower bound for N, which significantly depends on s and ε. Furthermore, we provide a probabilistic bound for the difference of the star discrepancies of the first N points of m and q, which holds without any restrictions on N. In this sense it improves on the bound of Ökten, Tuffin and Burago and is more helpful in practice, especially for small sample sizes N. We compare this bound to other known bounds. 相似文献

We study the well-posedness of general reflected BSDEs driven by a continuous martingale, when the coefficient f of the driver has at most quadratic growth in the control variable Z, with a bounded terminal condition and a lower obstacle which is bounded above. We obtain the basic results in this setting: comparison and uniqueness, existence, stability. For the comparison theorem and the special comparison theorem for reflected BSDEs (which allows one to compare the increasing processes of two solutions), we give intrinsic proofs which do not rely on the comparison theorem for standard BSDEs. This allows to obtain the special comparison theorem under minimal assumptions. We obtain existence by using the fixed point theorem and then a series of perturbations, first in the case where f is Lipschitz in the primary variable Y, and then in the case where f can have slightly-superlinear growth and the case where f is monotonous in Y with arbitrary growth. We also obtain a local Lipschitz estimate in BMO for the martingale part of the solution. 相似文献

This paper considers the short- and long-memory linear processes with GARCH (1,1) noises. The functional limit distributions of the partial sum and the sample autocovariances are derived when the tail index α is in (0,2), equal to 2, and in (2,∞), respectively. The partial sum weakly converges to a functional of α-stable process when α<2 and converges to a functional of Brownian motion when α≥2. When the process is of short-memory and α<4, the autocovariances converge to functionals of α/2-stable processes; and if α≥4, they converge to functionals of Brownian motions. In contrast, when the process is of long-memory, depending on α and β (the parameter that characterizes the long-memory), the autocovariances converge to either (i) functionals of α/2-stable processes; (ii) Rosenblatt processes (indexed by β, 1/2<β<3/4); or (iii) functionals of Brownian motions. The rates of convergence in these limits depend on both the tail index α and whether or not the linear process is short- or long-memory. Our weak convergence is established on the space of càdlàg functions on [0,1] with either (i) the J1 or the M1 topology (Skorokhod, 1956); or (ii) the weaker form S topology (Jakubowski, 1997). Some statistical applications are also discussed. 相似文献

We consider the motion of a Brownian particle in R, moving between a particle fixed at the origin and another moving deterministically away at slow speed ε>0. The middle particle interacts with its neighbours via a potential of finite range b>0, with a unique minimum at a>0, where b<2a. We say that the chain of particles breaks on the left- or right-hand side when the middle particle is at a distance greater than b from its left or right neighbour, respectively. We study the asymptotic location of the first break of the chain in the limit of small noise, in the case where ε=ε(σ) and σ>0 is the noise intensity. 相似文献

For α∈R, let pR(t,x,x) denote the diagonal of the transition density of the α-Bessel process in (0,1], killed at 0 and reflected at 1. As a function of x, if either α≥3 or α=1, then for t>0, the diagonal is nondecreasing. This monotonicity property fails if 1≠α<3. 相似文献

We give functional limit theorems for the fluctuations of the rescaled occupation time process of a critical branching particle system in Rd with symmetric α-stable motion in the cases of critical and large dimensions, d=2α and d>2α. In a previous paper [T. Bojdecki, L.G. Gorostiza, A. Talarczyk, Limit theorems for occupation time fluctuations of branching systems I: long-range dependence, Stochastic Process. Appl., this issue.] we treated the case of intermediate dimensions, α<d<2α, which leads to a long-range dependence limit process. In contrast, in the present cases the limits are generalized Wiener processes. We use the same space–time random field method of the previous paper, the main difference being that now the tightness requires a new approach and the proofs are more difficult. We also give analogous results for the system without branching in the cases d=α and d>α. 相似文献

Let M=(Mt)t≥0 be any continuous real-valued stochastic process. We prove that if there exists a sequence (an)n≥1 of real numbers which converges to 0 and such that M satisfies the reflection property at all levels an and 2an with n≥1, then M is an Ocone local martingale with respect to its natural filtration. We state the subsequent open question: is this result still true when the property only holds at levels an? We prove that this question is equivalent to the fact that for Brownian motion, the σ-field of the invariant events by all reflections at levels an, n≥1 is trivial. We establish similar results for skip free Z-valued processes and use them for the proof in continuous time, via a discretization in space. 相似文献

Let ηt be a Poisson point process of intensity t≥1 on some state space Y and let f be a non-negative symmetric function on Yk for some k≥1. Applying f to all k-tuples of distinct points of ηt generates a point process ξt on the positive real half-axis. The scaling limit of ξt as t tends to infinity is shown to be a Poisson point process with explicitly known intensity measure. From this, a limit theorem for the m-th smallest point of ξt is concluded. This is strengthened by providing a rate of convergence. The technical background includes Wiener–Itô chaos decompositions and the Malliavin calculus of variations on the Poisson space as well as the Chen–Stein method for Poisson approximation. The general result is accompanied by a number of examples from geometric probability and stochastic geometry, such as k-flats, random polytopes, random geometric graphs and random simplices. They are obtained by combining the general limit theorem with tools from convex and integral geometry. 相似文献

It is known that in the critical case the conditional least squares estimator (CLSE) of the offspring mean of a discrete time branching process with immigration is not asymptotically normal. If the offspring variance tends to zero, it is normal with normalization factor n2/3. We study a situation of its asymptotic normality in the case of non-degenerate offspring distribution for the process with time-dependent immigration, whose mean and variance vary regularly with non-negative exponents α and β, respectively. We prove that if β<1+2α, the CLSE is asymptotically normal with two different normalization factors and if β>1+2α, its limit distribution is not normal but can be expressed in terms of the distribution of certain functionals of the time-changed Wiener process. When β=1+2α the limit distribution depends on the behavior of the slowly varying parts of the mean and variance. 相似文献

In this note we study distance-regular graphs with a small number of vertices compared to the valency. We show that for a given α>2, there are finitely many distance-regular graphs Γ with valency k, diameter D≥3 and v vertices satisfying v≤αk unless (D=3 and Γ is imprimitive) or (D=4 and Γ is antipodal and bipartite). We also show, as a consequence of this result, that there are finitely many distance-regular graphs with valency k≥3, diameter D≥3 and c2≥εk for a given 0<ε<1 unless (D=3 and Γ is imprimitive) or (D=4 and Γ is antipodal and bipartite). 相似文献
