Aut(Ω) denotes the group of all order preserving permutations of the totally ordered set Ω, and if eu ∈ Aut(Ω), then B u Aut(Ω) denotes the subgroup of all those permutations bounded pointwise by a power of u. It is known that if Aut(Ω) is highly transitive, then Aut(Ω) has just five normal subgroups. We show that if Aut(Ω) is highly transitive and u has just one interval of support, then B u Aut(Ω) has normal subgroups, and there is a certain ideal of the lattice of subsets of (), the power set of the integers, such that the lattice of normal subgroups of every such Aut(Ω) is isomorphic to . Intriguing sets of vertices have been studied for several classes of strongly regular graphs. In the present paper, we study intriguing sets for the graphs Γ n , n ≥ 2, which are defined as follows. Suppose Q(2n, 2), n?≥ 2, is a nonsingular parabolic quadric of PG(2n, 2) and Q +(2n ? 1, 2) is a nonsingular hyperbolic quadric obtained by intersecting Q(2n, 2) with a suitable nontangent hyperplane. Then the collinearity relation of Q(2n, 2) defines a strongly regular graph Γ n on the set Q(2n, 2) \ Q +(2n ? 1, 2). We describe some classes of intriguing sets of Γ n and classify all intriguing sets of Γ2 and Γ3.  相似文献

This paper presents an algorithm for computing a linear recurrence system R(n, m) of order m for n equations on MIMD parallel system. This algorithm is not only easy to be programmed on a parallel computer system, but also reduces the data-waiting time due to compute-ahead strategy. The paper analyses how to achieve maximal load balancing when the algorithm is implemented on MIMD parallel system. By the end of the paper, an analysis on the speedup and parallel efficiency are given. The results indicate that the new parallel elimination algorithm has great improvement compared with the old ones.  相似文献

对偶理论是非线性规划理论的一个重要组成部分,目前较成熟和完善的仅是凸规划的对偶理论.对于非凸规划对偶问题的研究仅有少量的工作完成,其结果也不令人满意.文献[1]就凸共轭函数进行了推广,建立了(H,(?))共轭函数理论,这一理论为凸对偶向非凸对偶迈进提供了基础.本文应用这一(H,(?))共轭函数理论,提出并建立了非线性规划的(H,(?))对偶理论.应用表明,在特殊簇 H 及(?)下,迄今为止几乎所有非线性规划的对偶理论都是这一对偶框架下的特殊形式,因此可以说,它是对偶理论的一个突破.  相似文献

Consider the wave equation defined on a smooth bounded domain R n with boundary = 0 1. The control action is exercised in the Dirichlet boundary conditions only on 1 and is of classL 2(0,T: L 2(1)); instead, homogeneous boundary conditions of Dirichlet (or Neumann) type are imposed on the complementary part 0. The main result of the paper is a theorem which, under general conditions on the triplet {, 0, 1} with 0 , guarantees exact controllability on the spaceL 2() ×H –1() of maximal regularity forT greater than a computable timeT 0>0, which depends on the triplet. This theorem generalizes prior results by Lasiecka and the author [L-T.3] (obtained via uniform stabilization) and by Lions [L.5], [L.6] (obtained by a direct approach, different from the one followed here). The key technical issue is a lower bound on theL 2(1)-norm of the normal derivative of the solution to the corresponding homogeneous problem, which extends to a larger class of triplets {, 0, 1} prior results by Lasiecka and the author [L-T.3] and by Ho [H.1].This research was partially supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant NSF-DMS-8301668 and by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research under Grant AFOSR-84-0365.
