A recently proposed theory of the density response of particles moving in a random potential is applied to two-dimensional systems. The particles are found to be localized for arbitrary small disorder. By decreasing the potential fluctuations we find an abrupt transition from an insulating state to a quasi-conducting state exhibiting exceedingly small values for the inverse susceptibility, the inverse localization length and the excitation gap of the dynamical conductivity.  相似文献

We calculate the screening properties of a boson superlattice with distanced between the planes at temperature zero. The screened Coulomb potentialV s (r,d) of a test charge located in one plane is calculated in the neighboring plane. It is found that this interplane potential is attractive with a maximal atraction at the intraplane distancer m:V s (r m ,d)<0.V s (r m ,d) versusd shows a minimum atd m , indicating a maximal attraction for anoptimal superlattice period dm. The attraction could give rise topairing of bosons between different planes.  相似文献

We study the behaviors of mean end-to-end distance and specific heat of a two-dimensional intrinsically curved semiflexible biopolymer with a hard-core excluded volume interaction. We find the mean square end-to-end distance R~2_N∝ N~βat large N, with N being the number of monomers. Both β and proportional constant are dependent on the reduced bending rigidity κ and intrinsic curvature c. The larger the c, the smaller the proportional constant, and 1.5 ≥β≥ 1. Up to a moderate κ = κ_c, or down to a moderate temperature T = T_c, β = 1.5, the same as that of a self-avoiding random walk, and the larger the intrinsic curvature, the smaller the κ_c. However, at a large κ or a low temperature, β is close to 1,and the conformation of the biopolymer can be more compact than that of a random walk. There is an intermediate regime with 1.5 β 1 and the transition from β = 1.5 to β = 1 is smooth. The specific heat of the system increases smoothly with increasing κ or there is no peak in the specific heat. Therefore, a nonvanishing intrinsic curvature seriously affects the thermal properties of a semiflexible biopolymer, but there is no phase transition in the system.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of an electron wave-packet in a two-dimensional square lattice with an aperiodic site potential in the presence of an external uniform electric field. The aperiodicity is described by at lattice sites (mx,my), with πα being a rational number, and νx and νy tunable parameters, controlling the aperiodicity. Using an exact diagonalization procedure and a finite-size scaling analysis, we show that in the weakly aperiodic regime (νx,νy<1), a phase of extended states emerges in the center of the band at zero field giving support to a macroscopic conductivity in the thermodynamic limit. Turning on the field gives rise to Bloch oscillations of the electron wave-packet. The spectral density of these oscillations may display a double peak structure signaling the spatial anisotropy of the potential landscape. The frequency of the oscillations can be understood using a semi-classical approach.  相似文献

Two-dimensional(2D) materials, such as graphene, phosphorene, and transition metal dichalcogenides(e.g., Mo S2 and WS2), have attracted a great deal of attention recently due to their extraordinary structural, mechanical, and physical properties. In particular, 2D materials have shown great potential for thermal management and thermoelectric energy generation. In this article, we review the recent advances in the study of thermal properties of 2D materials. We first review some important aspects in thermal conductivity of graphene and discuss the possibility to enhance the ultra-high thermal conductivity of graphene. Next, we discuss thermal conductivity of Mo S2 and the new strategy for thermal management of Mo S2 device. Subsequently, we discuss the anisotropic thermal properties of phosphorene. Finally, we review the application of 2D materials in thermal devices, including thermal rectifier and thermal modulator.  相似文献

建立了二维势场中弹性耦合粒子的输运模型, 其中一维上加交流驱动及噪声, 另一维上不加驱动及噪声, 分析讨论了过阻尼情形下系统和外部参量对定向流的影响. 结果表明, 粒子可以通过相互耦合使一个方向上输入的驱动能量转化到垂直方向上, 从而使无能量输入的方向产生定向流. 适当的弹簧自由长度及耦合强度可以使定向流达到极值, 特别是当耦合强度及噪声强度固定时, 定向流会随弹簧自由长度的变化而振荡, 出现多峰现象. 研究还发现, 定向流随噪声强度的变化出现随机共振现象. 当产生定向流方向上的势的不对称度达到一定程度时会出现流反转现象. 关键词: 弹性耦合 定向输运 随机共振 流反转  相似文献

We study the spontaneous symmetry breaking of a superfluid Bose-Fermi mixture in a two-dimensional double- well potential. The mixture is described by a set of coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equations. The symmetry breaking phenomenon is demonstrated in the two-dimensional double-well potential in the mixture. The results are summarized in the phase diagrams of the mixture particle numbers, which are divided into symmetric and asymmetric regions by the asymmetry ratios. The dynamical pictures of the spontaneous symmetry breaking induced by a gradual transformation of the single-well potential into a double-well one are also illustrated. The properties of the quantum degenerate mixture are explored using the realistic parameters for a 40 K- 87 Rb system.  相似文献

We have studied the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of an interacting Bose gas confined in a two-dimensional (2D) quartic potential by using a mean-field, semiclassical two-fluid model. A thermodynamic analysis including the chemical potential, condensate fraction, total energy, and specific heat has been carried out by considering different values of the interaction strength. Finally, we have found that the behaviour of the condensate fraction and specific heat of quartically trapped bosons differs from those of bosons trapped in a harmonic potential.  相似文献

We use Monte Carlo simulations of the 2D one component Coulomb gas on a triangular lattice, to study the depinning transition of a 2D vortex lattice in a commensurate periodic potential. A detailed finite size scaling analysis indicates this transition to be first order. No significant changes in behavior were found as vortex density was varied over a wide range.  相似文献

We report direct observations of the scattering potentials in a two-dimensional electron gas using electron-beam diffraction experiments. The diffracting objects are local density fluctuations caused by spatial and charge-state distribution of donors in the GaAs-(Al,Ga)As heterostructures. The scatterers can be manipulated externally by sample illumination or by cooling the sample down under depleted conditions.  相似文献

We investigate the energy spectrum and the corresponding wave functions of an electron confined by a pseudoharmonic potential both including harmonic dot and antidot potentials in the presence of a strong magnetic field together with an Aharonov-Bohm flux field. Exact solutions for the energy levels and wave functions are found for this exactly soluble system. These are all tested under various conditions and also are compared with other works found in the literature. Further, we discuss the related energy spectrum in terms of special values of the proposed pseudoharmonic potential, AB field and magnetic field as a function of magnetic quantum number and magnetic field.  相似文献

We investigate the plasmon excitations in a two-dimensional electron gas subjected to a one-dimensional weak periodic potential. We derive and discuss the dispersion relations for both intrasubband and intersubband excitations within the framework of Bohm-Pines' random-phase approximation. For such an anisotropic system with spatially modulated charge density, we observe a splitting of the 2D plasmon dispersion. The splitting is caused by the superlattice effect of the charge-density modulation on the collective excitation spectrum. We also discuss how the tunneling and the potential amplitude affect the plasmon excitations.  相似文献
