A number of phenomena connected with the formation of electrode jets in discharges in hydrogen at a current of 10/sup 5/-10/sup 6/ A, a current growth rate of 10/sup 10/ A/s, an initial pressure 0.1-4.0 MPa, and a discharge gap length of 5-40 mm were studied. After the secondary breakdown, the jets are observed through a discharge semitransparent channel, widening with velocity (4-7) /spl middot/ 10/sup 2/ m/s. Shockwave formation was detected at the interaction of jets with the surrounding gas and the opposite electrode. Plasma vapor pressure of metal near the end of the tungsten cathode 70 /spl mu/s after initiation of a discharge was 180 MPa. Thus, magnitude of brightness temperature was 59 /spl middot/ 10/sup 3/ K, with an average charge of ions-m~=3.1, and a concentration of metal vapors n=5.3/spl middot/10/sup 19/ cm/sup -3/. While those at the end of the anode 90 /spl mu/s after initiation of discharge: m~=2.6, n=7.4/spl middot/10/sup 19/ cm/sup -3/. Probable reasons of high-voltage drops near the electrodes (the summarized magnitude of which is /spl sim/1 kV) are discussed on the basis of experimental data. For the first time, the shadow method registered symmetric ejection of material from the all-cathode surface the maximum discharge current was observed.  相似文献

介质材料表面电荷的积累和衰减行为是制约众多高压直流电力设备研制的关键因素. 薄片状介质试样的表面电荷密度与表面电位近似呈线性关系, 因此常通过表面电位衰减行为研究表面电荷的衰减特性. 基于电晕充电、表面电荷沉积和脱陷、介质体内单极性电荷输运等3个物理过程, 建立表面电位动态响应的物理模型. 通过计算环氧树脂的表面电位衰减行为, 得到栅极电压、相对介电常数和体电导率等对其表面电位衰减特性的影响. 栅极电压越高, 表面电位的衰减速度越快; 环氧树脂材料参数典型值(相对介电常数3.93, 体电导率10-14 S· m-1)下, 归一化表面电位的衰减速率随时间变化的曲线可拟合为分段幂函数, 其中, 分段幂函数的特征时间、指数系数与栅极电压分别呈幂函数和线性变化关系. 相对介电常数越大, 表面电位的衰减速度越慢; 环氧树脂相对介电常数典型范围(3–4)内, 表面电位衰减时间常数由1720 s增大到2540 s, 两者呈线性关系. 体电导率越大, 表面电位的衰减速度越快; 环氧树脂体电导率典型范围(10-15–10-13 S· m-1)内, 表面电位衰减时间常数由24760 s 减小到260 s, 两者呈幂函数变化关系.  相似文献

A one-dimensional plasma model developed for AC plasma display pixels is used to perform multipulse and single-pulse simulations to model the maximum sustain voltages, the minimum sustain voltages, and the voltage margins for 100% helium, 100% xenon, and for 2% xenon in helium and a 400 torr pressure (p) and a gap (L) of 100 μm. The multipulse simulations describe the growth in wall voltage at the so-called ON voltage and the decay in wall voltage at the so-called OFF voltage. For square wave forms, the ON voltage is the voltage at which a pixel attains to a stable operation in which a discharge occurs in each succeeding pulse and the wall voltage equal to the applied voltage. The OFF voltage is the voltage at which a pixel that is ON goes off and no further discharges occur. Experimental data for helium show the hysteresis in the discharge current observed when the voltage is increased to turn ON pixels and then reduced to turn OFF-pixels in a panel. Simulations which match the helium data are also shown. The difference between the ON and OFF voltages defines the bistable margin. For the helium-xenon Penning mixture, the ON and OFF voltages determined by multipulse simulations are almost identical to the values obtained from the wall voltage transfer curve method. In the helium-xenon Penning mixture, the ionization rate for xenon ground state increases dramatically compared to its ionization rate in pure xenon due to the modification in the electron velocity distribution function in the mixture. This feature provides enhanced volumetric ionization in the discharge and hence a rapid growth rate of the wall voltage which is desirable for a sharp transition from OFF to ON in a pixel  相似文献

大气压介质阻挡辉光放电中放电电流的测量与分析   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
介质阻挡放电产生的低温等离子体具有广泛的应用前景而成为研究热点。文章利用平行平板介质阻挡放电装置,在流动的氦气中实现了大气压均匀辉光放电,得到了大气压下的均匀等离子体。利用电学方法将放电电流从总电流中分离出来,从而得到了辉光放电的放电电流。通过分析放电电流、外加电压、气隙上电压以及壁电荷电量之间的相互关系,可以研究气体放电过程中壁电荷积累的微观动力学行为。实验结果表明壁电荷主要是在放电电流脉冲持续期间积累的,但电流脉冲结束后,由于气隙电压没有改变极性,壁电荷还会逐渐积累,气隙电压改变极性后,壁电荷量随时间减小。这些结果对壁电荷在介质阻挡辉光放电中作用的深入研究和大气压介质阻挡辉光放电的工业应用具有重要意义。  相似文献

为了研究氩气(Ar)中介质阻挡大气压辉光放电(APGD)的放电机理, 通过建立一个一维的多粒子自洽耦合流体模型, 采用有限元方法进行数值计算, 得到了气体间隙压降、介质表面电荷密度、放电电流密度随时间的周期变化波形, 以及电子、离子、亚稳态粒子密度和空间电场强度的时空分布. 仿真计算结果表明:介质表面积聚的电荷对于放电的过程的起始及熄灭具有重要作用;当增大外施电压时, 放电击穿时刻提前, 放电电流密度和介质表面电荷密度峰值增大, 表明放电过程更加剧烈;随着阻挡介质相对介电常数的增大, 放电电流密度也随之增大. 各粒子密度及电场的时空分布表明放电过程在外施电压半个周期中只有一次放电, 且存在明显的阴极位降区、负辉区、等离子体正柱区等辉光放电的典型区域, 为大气压辉光放电(APGD).  相似文献

作为分析仪器和医疗仪器光源,脉冲氙灯的光谱特性直接影响着仪器的整体性能。为了研究脉冲氙灯放电回路参数及几何参数对其光谱特性的影响,利用气体放电理论分析了脉冲氙灯发光过程,设计了光谱检测系统,实验测定了脉冲氙灯在不同放电参数下的光谱特性。结果表明:脉冲氙灯光谱由连续谱和线状谱组成,连续谱有离子复合和韧致辐射产生,线状谱由电子能级跃迁产生。相对光谱辐射能量随着放电电压升高呈近似线性增长、并随着储能电容的变大而变大。在放电电压较低时,弧长较短时相对光谱辐射能量较大;在放电电压较大时,弧长越长相对光谱辐射能量越大。对于脉冲氙灯工作参数选取以及应用生产具有重要的意义。  相似文献

A new sustain driving method with a high-impedance state for alternating current plasma display panels (ac PDP) is proposed. In this method, the voltage applied to scan and common electrodes of the ac PDP has three states during one sustain cycle, namely, positive-voltage, high-impedance, and negative-voltage states. The positive- and negative-voltage states occur alternately. The high-impedance state occurs between the positive- and negative-voltage states. During the positive and negative states, the glow discharge forms in the on-state cells, and the wall charges are accumulated on the dielectric layer. The high-impedance state is used to interrupt the current flow during the polarity change of the applied voltage and can suppress the loss of wall charges between adjacent gas discharges, thus improving the stability of the sustain discharge in the ac PDP. The experimental results on a 12-in PDP test panel show that the wall charges increase by 15% during the sustain period, the dynamic sustain voltage margin increases by 100%, and the brightness increases by 5%.   相似文献

A late afterglow period of cryogenic plasma with density less than 10/sup 8/ cm/sup -3/ in 4.2-K helium gas is measured, where the plasma is lost mainly through ambipolar diffusion. We fabricate a large stainless-steel cylindrical discharge vessel of 16.6 cm in diameter and 8.2 cm in length. The vessel is a TE/sub 011/ mode cavity with resonant frequency 2.85 GHz and Q-value larger than 3000. The diffusion length of the cavity, 2.1 cm, is much larger than those previously reported on cryogenic plasmas. A high-voltage pulse of 15 kV, 600 A with duration 2.5 /spl mu/ s is applied between tungsten needle electrodes to produce a plasma repeatedly. Gas pressure is varied from 0.08 to 1.1 torr. Temporal changes in plasma density and electron-atom momentum transfer collision frequency are measured by an improved method of microwave interferometer including the cavity. The plasma decay with time constant on the order of 1 s is observed. We can see very slowly fading fluorescent light with our naked eyes. The decay time is increased, if gas temperature is cooled below 4.2 K.  相似文献

利用双水电极介质阻挡放电装置,采用光学方法测量了大气压空气和氩气中介质阻挡放电的微放电时间特性.实验发现微放电通道相邻两次放电时间间隔是长短交替的.根据壁电荷对相邻两次微放电的不同影响,建立了介质阻挡放电时间序列的映射方程.不同放电参量取值情况下的计算结果表明,介质阻挡放电中,壁电荷电场的衰减时间常数远大于100μs量级.由方程所得的结果,解释了相邻两次放电时间间隔长短交替的实验现象,确定了壁电荷衰减时间常数的范围. 关键词: 介质阻挡放电 时间特性 壁电荷 映射方程  相似文献

A one-dimensional multispecies model of a helium filled AC plasma display cell is described. The model includes a continuity equation for each species. Poisson's equation and a circuit equation. The fill gas is helium for which the cross sections for ionization and excitation for the various atomic states are well known. The reaction rates for the different species were parametrized as functions of E/N using a zero-dimensional spatial and two velocity multispecies Boltzmann kinetic code. Calculations are performed using address and sustain voltages operating at a frequency of 50 kHz to model the pulse behavior of a dielectric barrier discharge which occurs over a time scale on the order of 200 ns or less. The code simulates multipulse behavior and shows reasonably good agreement with experimental data. The simulations show that the circuit filters out the discharge dynamics and that the pulse width of the discharge current depends on the circuit RC time constant. Using a 123 V sustain voltage, the calculated discharge current is 0.4 A with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 28 ns. 通过建立一个自洽耦合的一维流体模型来描述低气压氙气介质阻挡放电(DBD),并采用有限元法对模型进行数值仿真研究,得到了不同外加电压幅值和频率下的气体间隙压降、放电电流、介质表面电荷随时间的变化关系以及电子、离子、中性粒子和空间电场的时域分布.仿真结果表明:介质表面电荷对放电的点燃与熄灭起着关键的作用;在一个放电周期内,根据气体间隙压降的变化情况,介质表面电荷可按六个阶段进行分析;随着外施电压幅值的增加,间隙击穿逐渐提前至外施电压过零点之前发生,放电更为剧烈;随着外施电压频率的提高,气体间隙压降减小,间隙容易击穿,放电也更加均匀.粒子及空间电场的时域分布表明氙气DBD为典型的辉光放电.  相似文献

Kinetics of electrons, ions and metastable excited atoms in the interelectrode gap of a low-current discharge in the argon-mercury mixture is simulated, and the discharge ignition voltage as a function of the temperature and the cathode ion-electron secondary emission rate is calculated. A study of the different discharge phases of the pseudospark discharge is presented. During the temporal development several modes of the pseudospark discharge are observed leading to a transient, high current, low pressure gas discharge with current densities of the order of 104A/cm2 and a forward voltage drop of about 10 2 volts. Therefore measurements of the discharge current, the total charge transported, the forward voltage drop and the influence of the gas pressure and LRC circuit, from initial phase of discharge until the transient phase to the superdense glow, are reported. Through comparison of experimental results with literature the different types of discharges are characterized. Optical studies of the radially expanding plasma column enable the temporal and spatial location of the discharge plasma. In the high current phase estimations of the temperature on the cathode surface and the solution of the Schottky-Equation show that a constriction of the ion current at microscopic surface irregularities is necessary to sustain the discharge  相似文献

This paper investigates the emission characteristics of a high-performance low-energy (3-kJ) repetitive dense plasma focus device, NX2, operated at up to 1-Hz repetition rate to develop it as an intense source of soft X-rays (SXR) for microlithography and micromachining. Various SXR yield optimization studies with argon and neon as filling gases were performed under different operating conditions (charging voltage, filling pressure, anode length, and insulator sleeve length). The SXR yield was computed using signals obtained from a PIN diode SXR spectrometer with appropriate filters. When operated in neon, the average optimum SXR (/spl lambda//spl sim/1 nm) yield in 4/spl pi/ steradians was found to be up to 140 J/shot, which corresponded to a wall plug efficiency of 5.6%. Operation in argon showed that optimized SXR (/spl lambda//spl sim/0.4 nm) yield was up to 1.3 J/shot. While operating with neon under optimized conditions with a water-cooled anode in repetitive mode, the NX2 device was used as a SXR source to imprint a test lithograph on a highly sensitive chemically-amplified resist SU-8. Test structures showing the effect of a stepper with aspect ratio 3:1 on 10-/spl mu/m-thick SU-8 resist film were obtained.  相似文献

环氧树脂电气绝缘性能优良,但是其在脉冲功率设备中充当绝缘子时,表面容易带电且不易衰减,当表面电荷集聚到一定的程度会造成局部放电甚至发展为沿面闪络。为了提高环氧树脂的沿面闪络性能,用中心粒径为1μm的氢氧化铝(ATH)无机填料来改善环氧树脂复合材料的表面性能。分别制备了ATH填料质量分数为0%(纯环氧),20%,40%,60%,80%和100%的ATH/环氧树脂复合材料试样。用电声脉冲法研究了ATH填料对环氧树脂复合材料电荷衰减性能的影响,对比了试样直流极化场强为10kV/mm和30kV/mm的试验结果。结果表明:ATH/环氧树脂复合材料电荷的衰减常数不仅与填料的质量分数有关,而且与试样的带电量有关。  相似文献

The intensity decay of negative bands of N 2 + and of first positive bands of N2 in the auroral afterglow has been measured. An explanation, seeming possible for the decay curves of the first ones is proposed. By this the intensity decay in the beginning of the afterglow at high ionic densities is determined by the recombination of N 2 + with electrons. Later, the ambipolar diffusion of the charge carriers to the wall causes the time dependance. A value of the ambipolar diffusion coefficient in nitrogen, derived from the measurements is given by the relationD a ·p ≈ 124cm2 sec?1 Torr. The temperature of the charge carriers is estimated to be 313? K. The intensity decay of the pos. group in the afterglow seems mainly to be due to the diffusion of metastable particles to the wall.  相似文献

An intense pulsed electron beam produced by a pseudospark discharge is used for material processing. The electron beam propagates in a self-focused manner in the background gas. Hardly 12 ns after the beginning of the discharge the fraction of space charge neutralization is about 96%. To sustain the neutralization effect high energy electrons (E <500 keV) are accelerated in radial direction at the beam head, due to strong electric field gradients. At current maximum the beam pinches due to its own magnetic field. At peak current of 400 A and charging voltage up to 16 kV power density reaches 109 W/cm 2 on the target surface. On the basis of the electron Boltzmann equation and of the balances for the charge carriers (e, H+, H2+, H3+), the H-atoms and the metastable H(2s)-atoms for the H/H2-mixture the behaviour of the weakly turbulent, band-like electron-beam discharge plasma in hydrogen has been calculated taking into account the main collision and transport processes. In dependence of the normalized discharge length, the life time of the neutral particles in the band-like plasma and the electron beam generated turbulence energy density the ionization and dissociation budget and in particular the most important electron-heavy particle collision rates, which appear in the balance equation system, are investigated in the present part of our paper. In a second part the results related to the budget of the ions and the metastable atomic state will be reported and an analysis of the main processes in the balances will be made.  相似文献

We point out that the existence of metastable, tau>10(3) s, negatively charged electroweak-scale particles (X-) alters the predictions for lithium and other primordial elemental abundances for A>4 via the formation of bound states with nuclei during big bang nucleosynthesis. In particular, we show that the bound states of X- with helium, formed at temperatures of about T=10(8) K, lead to the catalytic enhancement of 6Li production, which is 8 orders of magnitude more efficient than the standard channel. In particle physics models where subsequent decay of X- does not lead to large nonthermal big bang nucleosynthesis effects, this directly translates to the level of sensitivity to the number density of long-lived X- particles (tau>10(5) s) relative to entropy of nX-/s less, approximately <3x10(-17), which is one of the most stringent probes of electroweak scale remnants known to date.  相似文献

An interactive beam-circuit code (IBC) is presented, to run interactively on fast PCs or workstations, for purposes of first-cut design of traveling-wave tubes (TWTs) at small and large amplitudes. The new physics parts are the use of particle-in-cell methods to obtain the space-charge forces, and the following of the electron beam over the full length of the tube. The model is fully nonlinear and one-dimensional, with the transverse space-charge fields approximated by one mode. The slow-wave circuit is modeled by a transmission line. All variables are displayed continuously, such as the velocity displacement of all the particles (phase space), beam charge and current densities, space-charge field, circuit field, voltage and current, circuit power, and the location of the added loss.
