The complex dielectric and AC conductivity response of BaBi2Nb2O9 relaxor ferroelectric ceramics were studied as a function of frequency (100 Hz-10 MHz) at various temperatures. The observed dielectric behavior was characterized by two types of relaxation processes which were described by the ‘universal relaxation law’. The frequency dependence of conductivity which showed a classical relaxor behavior followed the Jonscher's universal law σ(ω)=σ0+Aωn. The exponent n exhibited a minimum in the vicinity of temperatures of dielectric anomaly while the pre-factor A showed a maximum. The temperature dependence of n followed the Vogel-Fulcher relation with activation energy of about 0.14 eV.  相似文献

Lanthanum-substituted bismuth titanate, Bi3.5La0.5Ti3O12 (i.e., x=0.5 in Bi4−xLaxTi3O12), thin films have been grown on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates using pulsed laser deposition. The frequency dependence of the real part ε′(ω) and the imaginary part ε″(ω) of the dielectric constant has been studied. The ε′(ω) does not show any sudden change within the frequency range of 102-106 Hz. In contrast, the ε″(ω) shows a large dispersion as frequency decreases. The observed relaxation behavior in ε″(ω) can be explained in terms of a migration of oxygen vacancies in (Bi2O2)2+ layers, not in Bi2Ti3O10 perovskite layers.  相似文献

Microstructure, phase transformation behavior and dielectric properties of BaTi1−x(Al1/2Nb1/2)xO3 (0.01≤x≤0.40) ceramics were investigated. A high level of (Al1/2Nb1/2)4+ substitution for Ti4+ ions was not conducive to the stability of the perovskite structure and resulted in the formation of BaAl2O4. As x was increased, lattice constants and unit cell volume decreased, reached a minimum at x=0.10 and then increased. The BaTi1−x(Al1/2Nb1/2)xO3 ceramics at room temperature experienced a transformation from ferroelectric to paraelectric phase with increasing (Al1/2Nb1/2)4+ concentration. Meanwhile, permittivity of the BaTi1−x(Al1/2Nb1/2)xO3 ceramics was markedly reduced, while Q value was slightly increased. Frequency dispersion of dielectric peak was obviously increased as x was increased from 0.01 to 0.10. It is of great interest that a dielectric abnormity represented by a broad dielectric peak at 200-400 K was observed for the composition with x=0.40.  相似文献

This paper reports the dielectric and impedance characteristics of ferroelectric SrBi2Nb2O9 (SBN) ceramics in the 100 Hz-1 MHz frequency range at various temperatures (300-823 K). A strong low frequency dielectric dispersion (LFDD) associated with an impedance relaxation has been found to exist in these ceramics in the temperature range 573-823 K. The Z″ of the AC complex impedance showed two distinct slopes in the frequency range 100 Hz-1 MHz suggesting the existence of two dispersion mechanisms. This non-ideal behavior has been explained on the basis of the expression, Z*=R0/(1+(/ω1)m+(/ω2)n) [J. Phys. Chem. Solids 53 (1992) 1] where ω1 and ω2 characterize the lattice response and the charge carrier behavior, respectively. The exponents m and n were obtained from the curve fitting. The exponent n was found to exhibit a minimum at the Curie temperature, Tc (723 K) whereas the m was temperature independent.  相似文献

AC conductivity and dielectric properties of tungsten trioxide (WO3) in a pellet form were studied in the frequency range from 42 Hz to 5 MHz with a variation of temperature in the range from 303 K to 463 K. AC conductivity, σac(ω) was found to be a function of ωs where ω is the angular frequency and s is the frequency exponent. The values of s were found to be less than unity and decrease with increasing temperature, which supports the correlated barrier hopping mechanism (CBH) as the dominant mechanism for the conduction in WO3. The dielectric constant (ε′) and dielectric loss (ε″) were measured. The Cole–Cole diagram determined complex impedance for different temperatures.  相似文献

The transport properties of Nd-doped perovskite materials (La0.7−xNdx)Sr0.3Mn0.7Cr0.3O3 (x≤0.30) were investigated using impedance spectroscopy techniques over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies. AC conductance analyses indicate that the conduction mechanism is strongly dependent on temperature and frequency. The DC conductance plots can be described using the small polaron hopping (SPH) model, with an apparent reduction of the polaron activation energy below the Curie temperature TC. Complex impedance plots exhibit semicircular arcs described by an electrical equivalent circuit. Off-centered semicircular impedance plots show that the Nd-doped compounds obey to a non-Debye relaxation process. The conductivity of grains and grain-boundaries has been estimated. The activation energies calculated from the conductance and from time relaxation analyses are comparable. This indicates that the same type of charge carriers is responsible for both the electrical conduction and relaxation phenomena.  相似文献

In this work, ((1−x)Ba(Fe1/2Ta1/2)O3-xBa(Zn1/3Ta2/3)O3), ((1−x)BFT-xBZT) ceramics with x = 0.00–0.12 were synthesized by the solid–state reaction method. X-ray diffraction data revealed that both the powders and ceramics were of a pure-phase cubic perovskite structure. All ceramics showed large dielectric constants. For the x = 0.12 sample, a very high dielectric constant (>20,600) was observed. A lowering in the dielectric loss compared to pure BFT ceramics was observed with the BZT addition. The impedance measurements indicated that BZT has a strong effect on the bulk grain and grain boundary resistance of BFT ceramics. These results are in agreement with the measured dielectric properties. Based on dielectric and impedance results, (1−x)BFT-xBZT ceramics could be of great interest for high performance dielectric materials applications due their giant dielectric constant behavior.  相似文献

The dielectric properties and loss of Bi1.5ZnSb1.5O7 a poor-semiconducting ceramic were investigated by impedance spectroscopy, in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 13 MHz. Electric measurements were performed from 100 to 700 °C. Pyrochlore type phase was synthesized by the polymeric precursor method. Dense ceramic with 97% of the theoretical density was prepared by sintering via constant heating rate. The dielectric permittivity dependence as a function of frequency and temperature showed a strong dispersion at frequency lower than 10 kHz. The losses exhibit slight dependence with the frequency at low temperatures presenting a strong increase at temperatures higher than 400 °C. A decrease of the loss magnitude occurs with increasing frequency. Relaxation times were extracted using the dielectric functions Z″(ω) and M″(ω). The plots of the relaxation times τZ and τM as a function of temperature follow the Arrhenius law, where a single slope is observed with activation energy values equal to 1.38 and 1.37 eV, respectively.  相似文献

Ba[(Fe0.5Nb0.5)1−xTix]O3 (x=0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8,0.85,0.9 and 0.95) solid solutions were synthesized by a standard solid-state reaction technique. X-ray diffraction at room temperature and dielectric characteristics over a broad temperature and frequency range were evaluated systematically. The structure of Ba[(Fe0.5Nb0.5)1−xTix]O3 solid solutions changed from cubic to tetragonal with increasing x. A Debye-like dielectric relaxation following the Arrhenius law similar to that in Ba(Fe0.5Nb0.5)O3 was observed at lower temperature in the composition range 0.2≤x≤0.8, while the relaxor ferroelectric, diffused ferroelectric and normal ferroelectric behavior were observed for x=0.85,0.9 and 0.95, respectively. The process of the evolution of relaxor-like dielectric to ferroelectric suggested the changing from dilute polar micro-domains to polar micro-domains, polar micro/macro-domains and then polar macro-domains in the present ceramics.  相似文献

The electrical properties and phase transition behavior of (Pb0.87La0.02Ba0.1)(Zr0.6Sn0.4−xTix)O3 solid solutions (PLBZST, 0.04≤x0.2) were investigated by the X-ray diffraction, permittivity, pyroelectric current, and P-E electric hysterisis loops. As the composition x increased from 0.04 to 0.2, the antiferroelectric ceramics (x≤0.07, AFE) with tetragonal phase changed to the ferroelectric relaxors (RFE, 0.09≤x). AFE ceramics showed a peculiar diffuse phase transition and dielectric relaxation at the low temperature (down to −100 °C) due to a frustration between AFE and FE state. With an increase in composition x, electrically field-induced AFE-FE switching field (EAFE-FE) and AFE-paraelectric (PE) phase transition temperature (Tc) are depressed in the temperature (T)-Ti composition (x) phase diagram, a FE-AFE-PE triple phase point (Ttr) with the lowest transition temperature occurred at x=0.09. The pyroelectric currents under an application of various external electric field (E) were measured to identify a T-E phase diagram of the PLBZST compound.  相似文献

A single phase rare earth double perovskite oxide Ba2CeNbO6 (BCN) is synthesized by solid-state reaction technique for the first time. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the sample at room temperature shows monoclinic structure, with the lattice parameters, a=5.9763 Å, b=5.975 Å and c=8.48 Å and β=90.04°. Impedance spectroscopy is used to study the ac electrical behavior of this material as a function of frequency (102-106 Hz) at various temperatures (30-450 °C). A relaxation is observed in the entire temperature range. Conduction mechanism is investigated by fitting the complex impedance data to Cole-Cole equation. Complex impedance plane plots show only one semicircular arc, indicating only the grain contribution of dielectric relaxation. The scaling behavior of imaginary part of electric modulus (M″) and imaginary part of electrical impedance (Z″) suggests that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at various temperatures. The frequency dependence of conductivity is interpreted in terms of the jump relaxation model and is fitted to Jonscher's power law. The values of dc conductivities extracted from the Jonscher power law varies from 2.79×10−7 to 3.5×10−5 Sm−1 with the increase in temperature from 100 to 450 °C. The activation energies (0.37 eV) extracted from M″(ω) and Z″(ω) peaks are found to follow the Arrhenius law.  相似文献

Ceramics with the nominal composition of SrBi4−xLaxTi4O15 have been prepared within the range of 0≤x≤1.8, and the dielectric properties are investigated. Single phase SrBi4−xLaxTi4O15 solid solution exists until the secondary phase of La2/3TiO3 appears at x=1.6. The Curie temperature is 520 °C for pure SrBi4Ti4O15, and it shifts to low temperature with increasing x, which is due to the smaller structural distortion caused by La3+ substitution. In addition, the dielectric constant anomaly is suppressed with the substitution. No dielectric relaxation behavior is observed. When x≥1.2, the paraelectric state is attained in the present ceramics. La3+ substitution effects on the SrBi4Ti4O15 ceramics are also compared with the previous work on Bi4−xLaxTi3O12.  相似文献

Complex impedance spectroscopy (CIS) technique has been utilized to investigate the intra- and intergranular contributions to the impedance in pristine and wolframium (tungsten, W) -substituted strontium bismuth tantalate [SrBi2(Ta1−xWx)2O9 (SBTW); x=0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1 and 0.2] ceramics as a function of temperature and frequency. CIS studies reveal that the electrical relaxation process was temperature dependent and non-Debye type. The temperature dependence of the relaxation time was found to obey the Arrhenius law. DC conductivity of the studied samples obtained from the CIS data decreased for W content upto x=0.05, followed by a subsequent increase with x>0.05. Electrical conductivity data including the typical values of the activation energies at high temperature indicated that the conductivity in the studied ceramics was essentially due to the contribution of doubly ionized oxygen vacancies to the conduction process.  相似文献

Na1−xLixNbO3 ceramics with composition 0.05≤x≤0.30 were prepared by solid-state reaction method and sintered in the temperature range 1100-1150 °C. These ceramics were characterised by X-ray diffraction as well as dielectric permittivity measurements and Raman spectroscopy. Dielectric properties of ceramics belonging to the whole composition domain were investigated in a broad range of temperatures from 300 to 750 K and frequencies from 0.1 to 200 kHz. The Rietveld refinement powder X-ray diffraction analysis showed that these ceramics have a single phase of perovskite structure with orthorhombic symmetry for x≤0.15 and two phases coexistence of rhombohedral and orthorhombic above x=0.20. The evolution of the permittivity as a function of temperature and frequency showed that these ceramics Na1−xLixNbO3 with composition 0.05≤x≤0.15 present the classical ferroelectric character and the phase transition temperature TC increases as x content increases. The polarisation state was checked by pyroelectric and piezoelectric measurements. For x=0.05, the piezoelectric coefficient d31 is of 2pC/N. The evolution of the Raman spectra was studied as a function of temperatures and compositions. The results of the Raman spectroscopy study confirm our dielectric measurements, and they indicate clearly the transition from the polar ferroelectric phase to the non-polar paraelectric one.  相似文献

Se75Te25−xGax (x=0, 5, 10 and 15 at wt%) chalcogenide compositions were prepared by the well known melt quenching technique. Thin films with different thicknesses in the range (185–630 nm) of the obtained compositions were deposited by thermal evaporation technique. X-ray diffraction patterns indicate that the amorphous nature of the obtained films. The ac conductivity and the dielectric properties of the studied films have been investigated in the frequency range (102–105 Hz) and in the temperature range (293–333 K). The ac conductivity was found to obey the power low ωs where s≤1 independent of film thickness. The temperature dependence of both ac conductivity and the exponent s can be well interpreted by the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model. The experimental results of the dielectric constant ε1 and dielectric loss ε2 are frequency and temperature dependent. The maximum barrier height Wm calculated from the results of the dielectric loss according to the Guintini equation, and agrees with that proposed by the theory of hopping of charge carriers over a potential barrier as suggested by Elliott for chalcogenide glasses. The density of localized state was estimated for the studied film compositions. The variation of the studied properties with Ga content was also investigated. The correlation between the ac conduction and the dielectric properties were verified.  相似文献

The glasses of the composition (40−x) PbO-15Bi2O3-45As2O3-xCoO, with 0≤x≤0.6 mol% in the steps of 0.1 were synthesized. The dielectric properties viz., dielectric constant, loss and ac conductivity over moderately larger ranges of frequency and temperature were investigated. The results were analyzed with the aid of the data on optical absorption and IR spectra. The analysis indicated that there is an increase in the insulating strength of the glasses with increase in the concentration of CoO up to 0.4 mol%.  相似文献

Bismuth ferrite (BFO) and La-substituted BFO with composition Bi1−xLaxFeO3 (x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.15) (BLFOx=0.05-0.15) ceramics were prepared using the solid state reaction route. A structural phase transition from rhombohedral phase to triclinic phase was observed for BLFOx=0.05-0.15 ceramics. Modulus spectroscopy reveals the deviation of dielectric behavior from ideal Debye characteristics and the dependence of conductivity on ion hopping in BFO and BLFOx=0.05-0.15 ceramics. The conductivity of the BFO ceramics decreases for La content of 5 mol%, followed by a subsequent increase with 10 and 15 mol% of lanthanum doping. The typical values of the activation energies at high temperature reveal the contribution of short range movement of doubly ionized oxygen vacancies to the conduction process in BFO and BLFOx=0.05 ceramics. Both short range and long range motion of oxygen vacancies are responsible for large conductivity in BLFOx=0.1 and 0.15 ceramics.  相似文献

Lead-free (Ba1−xCax)(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 (x = 0.05-0.40) (BCZT) ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction technique. XRD results show that the samples in the composition range of 0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.25 exhibit pure perovskite structures and undergo a polymorphic phase transitions from orthorhombic to tetragonal phase around room temperature. The biphasic structures are detected at x ≥ 0.30 and the dielectric peaks become broad and dielectric constants decrease with increasing Ca content. Ca replacement at Ba site leads to diffuseness, whereas Ca occupancy at Ti site leads to decrease of the Tc.  相似文献

Bismuth doped bismuth sodium titanate ceramics [(Bi1/2Na1/2)(1−1.5x)BixTiO3, x=0 to 0.06] were prepared, and the resulting effects on the microstructure and dielectric properties were examined. All of the Bi-doped ceramics exhibited a single phase of perovskite structure with rhombohedral symmetry. The poling leakage current was significantly reduced by the doping of Bi, facilitating the poling process of the ceramics. The doping with Bi enhances the piezoelectric properties and increases the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of the ceramics. At 2 mol% Bi-doping level, the ceramics exhibit a large remanent polarization of 47 μC/cm2 and a relatively low coercive field of 71 kV/cm, while their d33 and kp reach a maximum value of 95 pC/N and 21%, respectively.  相似文献

We present the results of impedance spectroscopic study with its analytical interpretations in the framework of electric modulus formalism for Barium Nickel Tantalate Ba(Ni1/3Ta2/3)O3 (BNT), Calcium Nickel Tantalate Ca(Ni1/3Ta2/3)O3 (CNT) and Strontium Nickel Tantalate Sr(Ni1/3Ta2/3)O3 (SNT) synthesized by the solid-state reaction technique. The results of powder X-ray diffraction study reveal that BNT and SNT crystallize in cubic structure with lattice parameter a=4.07 Å and 3.98 Å respectively, whereas CNT crystallizes in monoclinic structure having lattice parameters, a=5.71 Å, b=13.45 Å and c=5.47 Å with β=118.3°. The logarithmic angular frequency dependence of the real part of complex dielectric permittivity and loss tangent as a function of temperature indicate significant dielectric relaxation in the samples, which have been explained by the Debye theory. The frequency dependence of the loss peak and the imaginary part of electrical modulus are found to obey the Arrhenius law. The relaxation mechanism of these samples is modeled by the Cole–Cole equation. This confirms that the polarization mechanism in BNT, CNT and SNT is due to the bulk effect arising in semiconductive grains. The scaling behavior of imaginary part of electric modulus M″ suggests that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at various temperatures but relaxation frequency is strongly temperature dependent. The normalized peak positions of tan δ/tan δm and M″/Mm versus log ω for BNT, CNT and SNT do not overlap completely and are very close to each other. These indicate the presence of both long-range and localized relaxation. Due to their high dielectric constant and low loss tangent, these materials may find several technological applications such as in capacitors, resonators, filters and integrated circuits.  相似文献
