In this paper we proposed an improved colour image quantization scheme based on predictive coding. Since the neighbouring colour pixels are quite similar in most colour images, the similarity among the encoded pixels is exploited. In the proposed scheme the encoded distinct neighbouring colours are collected to form a smaller state-palette. If the closest colour in the state-palette is quite similar to the current encoding colour pixel, the index of the closest colour in the state-palette is recorded. Otherwise, the closest colour in original colour palette for the current encoding colour pixel is searched and the corresponding index is recorded. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves good image qualities while requiring much lower bit rates for colour image compression.  相似文献

本文提出了利用液晶光阀和单色激光进行彩色全息图记录的方法.借助于液晶光阀非相干-相干转换的功能,采用新的彩虹全息术,获得了记录于同一块干版上的原彩色目标由红、绿、篮三色所成的三个基色彩虹全息像.用白光透射再现,得到原彩色图的真彩色全息像.这种方法是液晶光阀、条形散斑屏在图像处理中的一种特殊应用.  相似文献

提出一种像素随机映射的快速方法, 将该方法与像素字节低位隐藏信息的LSB(Least Significant Bit)技术相结合, 讨论了将RGB彩色图像作为载体隐匿真彩色图像、灰度图像、二值图像及全息信息的方法. 研究结果表明, 该方法加密及解密效率高, 载体图像具有较好的抗破译及抗剪切能力. 根据隐藏信息的性质合理使用LSB技术, 能在基本不影响载体图像质量的情况下较好地隐匿多种信息.  相似文献

A photographic colour film, which was exposed to heavy ions, reveals a coloured dye image of the ion tracks. Since the colour film consists of several layers and different colours appear on each layer, three-dimensional information on the tracks in the layers can be obtained by the colour image. Previously, we have reported the method for which the tracks in different colours represented differences of track depth and we also discussed the disadvantages of using commercial colour films. Here we present the procedure for a self-made photographic coating and the development formula which can overcome the disadvantages.  相似文献

The Fourier transforms of colour transparencies have been separated spatially according to their colour content. This article describes the way in which image is prepared for content-based image retrieval system. Automated image extraction is crucial; especially, if we take into consideration the fact that the feature selection is still a task performed by human domain experts and represents a major stumbling block in the process of creating fully autonomous CBIR systems. Our CBIR system is dedicated to support estate agents. In the database, there are images of houses and bungalows. We put all our efforts into extracting elements from an image and finding their characteristic features in the unsupervised way. Hence, the paper presents segmentation algorithm based on a pixel colour in RGB colour space. Next, it presents the method of object extraction applied to obtain separate objects prepared for the process of introducing them into database and further recognition. Moreover, we present a novel method of texture identification which is based on wavelet transformation. Due to the fact that the majority of texture is geometrical (such as bricks and tiles) we have used the Haar wavelet. After a set of low-level features for all objects is computed, the database is stored with these features.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new comprehensive procedure for both geometric and colour calibration of structured light system. In order to perform both geometric and colour calibration procedure, a new calibration artifact is proposed. The intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of projector and camera are estimated by using an extended pinhole camera model with a tangential and radial distortion. Camera image plane coordinates are obtained by extracting features from images of a calibration artifact. Projector image plane coordinates are calculated on the basis of continuous phase maps obtained from a fringe pattern phase reconstruction procedure. In order to stereo calibrate camera-projector system, pairs of corresponding image plane points are calculated with subpixel accuracy. In addition, one of three pattern views is used in colour calibration. RGB values of a colour field pattern detected by camera and their reference values are compared. This comparison leads to derivation of a colour transformation matrix. The performance of the proposed method is tested by measuring plane, sphere and distance reference. Also 360 degrees complex object 3D model from a set of measurements is obtained. Residual mean errors for all tests performed are calculated.  相似文献

A novel variable-sized block encoding with threshold control for colour image quantization (CIQ) is presented in this paper. In CIQ, the colour palette used has a great influence on the reconstructed image quality. Typically, a higher image quality and a larger storage cost are obtained when a larger-sized palette is used in CIQ. To cut down the storage cost while preserving quality of the reconstructed images, the threshold control policy for quadtree segmentation is used in this paper. Experimental results show that the proposed method adaptively provides desired bit rates while having better image qualities comparing to CIQ with the usage of multiple palettes of different sizes.  相似文献

In recent years, colour-vision abilities have been rather generously ascribed to various invertebrates and even bacteria. This uncertainty of when to diagnose colour vision stems in part from confusing what colour vision can do with what it is. What colour vision can do is discriminate wavelength independent of intensity. However, if we take this as a definition of what colour vision is, then we might be obliged to conclude that some plants and bacteria have colour vision. Moreover, there is a similar confusion of what are necessary and what are sufficient mechanisms and behavioural abilities for colour vision. To humans, seeing in colour means seeing an image in which objects/lights have chromatic attributes—in contrast to the sensation that we have when viewing monochrome movies, or our experience in dim light when only rod vision is possible. The necessary basic equipment for this is to have at least two types of photoreceptors that differ in spectral sensitivity, and at least one type of spectrally opponent cell to compare the signals from the photoreceptors. Clearly, however, a necessary additional prerequisite for colour vision is to have vision, which entails the identification of shapes, sizes and locations of objects in the world. Thus, if an animal has colour vision, it should see an image in which distinct objects/lights have colour attributes. This distinguishes colour vision from wavelength discrimination, but also from what has historically been called wavelength-specific behaviour: a type of behaviour triggered by fixed configurations of spectral receptor signals; however, we discuss difficulties in diagnosing wavelength-specific behaviour as an indicator of the absence of colour vision. Finally, we discuss whether colour vision, by definition, contains a cognitive dimension for ordering and classifying perceptual experience.  相似文献

Colour is not the domain of any one discipline be it art, philosophy, psychology or science. Each discipline has its own colour wheel and this presentation examines the origins and philosophies behind the colour circles of Art, Perception, Science and Physiology (after image) with reference to Aristotle, Robert Boyle, Leonardo da Vinci, Goethe, Ewald Hering and Albert Munsell.The paper analyses and discusses the differences between the four colour wheels using the Natural Colour System® notation as the reference for hue (the position of colours within each of the colour wheels). Examination of the colour wheels shows the dominance of blue in the wheels of art, science and physiology particularly at the expense of green.This paper does not consider the three-dimensionality of colour space its goal was to review the hue of a colour with regard to its position on the respective colour wheels.  相似文献

The early application of the digital image processing (DIP) technique to automate photoelastic analysis is based on black and white image processing systems. The various methodologies reported can be said to rely upon one or more features of a black and white DIP system. With the advancements in computer technology, modern colour image processing systems are available at affordable prices. In such systems, the image is identified as a superposition of image planes of red, green and blue. This paper investigates whether one or all of the image planes can be thought of as behaving like an optical filter: with the hardware used, the green channel is found to behave in this way. This idea is then used to extend the phase-shifting technique to colour domain. For the problem of a disk under diametral compression, total fringe order variation along a few lines is evaluated by this new technique and compared with theoretical predictions: the comparison is found to be good.  相似文献

A measuring principle for qualitative and quantitative analyses of three-dimensional unsteady flows is presented. The principle is based on colour coding of the flow volume under consideration. Coloured light sheets are generated and used to illuminate the flow volume. Consecutive light sheets of different colours are scanned over the volume within a small interval of time. Thus, the volume is sliced and colour-coded quasi-instantaneously. With this technique, the 3D position of a particle in the volume can be identified by a 2D image and an associated colour. Since most optical flow measuring systems are based on tracers, colour coding allows the application of 2D image recorders to register 3D flow information. The paper discusses the state-of-the-art of this principle for three-dimensional flow analyses and gives information about applicability and limitations.  相似文献

A method that uses white-light processing to reconstruct colour holographic images is introduced. Construction of the colour hologram and the optical arrangement for image retrieval are outlined. In three fringe photoelasticity, a single colour isochromatic image is used to estimate the total fringe order by comparing the colour at each point with that of a calibration table. The generation of the calibration table is critical, and certain nuances involved therein are brought out in this paper. Ideally, the same specimen material and lighting conditions must be used for both the calibration and application experiments, which are often not possible in an industrial scenario, and colour adaptation is a simple way of suitably modifying the calibration table. Till date, only experimental analyses of the colour adaptation procedures are available in the literature; in this paper, the colour adaptation procedures are investigated from an analytical viewpoint. This study has brought out that a two-point colour adaptation scheme accounts not only for tint variation between the calibration and application specimens, but also for ambient illumination. This finding has also been experimentally verified for a benchmark problem, and thereafter extended for reflection photoelastic analyses.  相似文献

An optical method of measuring the pressure distribution in an automobile tyre contact area is reported. The method relies on the phenomenon of frustrated total internal reflection to produce a video image in which the brightness is a measurement of the pressure at any point. Conversion of this monochrome picture via a colour synthesizer allows the contact area to be displayed as a colour contour map of pressure.  相似文献

针对传统颜色迁移算法计算量大、对图像无法准确进行颜色迁移的问题,提出一种基于形态学变换和快速模糊C均值聚类(FFCM)的灰度图像颜色迁移算法。首先对目标图像进行腐蚀膨胀运算,消除亮度不均匀的区域,通过FFCM聚类算法对目标图像进行准确聚类,然后在目标图像与源图像中选取对应样本块,完成样本块的颜色迁移,并以已上色的样本块为参考,完成图像的全局颜色迁移。实验结果表明:与Welsh和FCM算法相比较,本文算法处理时间分别缩短64.29 %和54.25 %,结果图像在类间交界处的颜色过渡更加自然,证明了算法的有效性。  相似文献
