Supramolecular self‐assembly of 24 forklike mesogenic ligands and 12 transition metal ions led to the formation of giant spherical coordination complexes that exhibit liquid‐crystalline (LC) phases. Self‐healing LC supramolecular gels were also obtained through the introduction of these LC nanostructured supramolecular giant spherical complexes into dynamic covalent networks formed by cross‐linkers and bifunctional polymers. The giant spherical structures of the PdII complexes with 72 rodlike moieties on the periphery were characterized by NMR, diffusion‐ordered NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. These complexes are stable and exhibit lyotropic LC behavior, while the mesogenic ligands show thermotropic LC properties. The self‐assembled LC structures of the spherical complexes can be tuned by the length of the rodlike moieties.  相似文献

Dimeric, trimeric, and tetrameric cyclic [2]catenanes have been prepared directly through one‐pot sodium‐ion‐templated dynamic imine formation from a diamine and a tetraaldehyde. NaBH4 mediated reduction of the labile imino bonds of these cyclic [2]catenane oligomers, followed by methylation of the resulting secondary amino groups enabled the isolation and characterization of oligomeric cyclic [2]catenanes as stable, covalently linked compounds.  相似文献

We report herein a series of tetrablock‐mimic azobenzene‐containing [60]fullerene dyads that form supramolecular liquid crystals (LCs) from phase‐segregated two‐dimensional (2D) crystals. The unique double‐, triple‐, and quadruple‐layer packing structure of fullerenes in the 2D crystals leads to different smectic supramolecular LC phases, and novel LC phase transitions were observed upon changes in the fullerene packing layer number in the 2D crystals. Interestingly, by combining the LC properties with 2D crystals, these materials show excellent electron mobility in the order of 10−3 cm2 V−1 s−1, despite their relatively low fullerene content. Our results provide a novel method to manipulate 2D crystal layer thickness, with promising applications in optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

A diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) dye self‐assembles via a unique hydrogen‐bonding motif into an unprecedented columnar liquid‐crystalline (LC) structure. X‐ray and polarized FTIR experiments reveal that the DPPs organize into a one‐dimensional assembly with the chromophores oriented parallel to the columnar axis. This columnar structure is composed of two π–π‐stacked DPP dimers with mirror‐image configurations that stack alternately through quadruple hydrogen bonding by 90° rotation. This exotic packing is dictated by the complementarity between H‐bonds and the steric demands of the wedge‐shaped groups attached at the core. This novel LC supramolecular material opens a new avenue of research on DPP dye assemblies with photofunctional properties tailored by H‐bonding networks.  相似文献
