Novel zinc(II), copper(II), and cobalt(II) complexes of the Schiff base derived from 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde and D, L ‐selenomethionine were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectra, conductance measurements, magnetic measurements and powder XRD. The analytical data showed the composition of the metal complex to be ML(H2O), where L is the Schiff base ligand and M = Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II). IR results confirmed the tridentate binding of the Schiff base ligand involving azomethine nitrogen, naphthol oxygen and carboxylato oxygen atoms. 1H NMR spectral data of lithium salt of the Schiff base ligand [Li(HL)] and ZnL(H2O) agreed with the proposed structures. The conductivity values of complexes between 12.50 and 15.45 S cm2 mol?1 in DMF suggested the presence of non‐electrolyte species. The powder XRD studies indicated that Co(II) complex is amorphous, whereas Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes are crystalline. The results of antibacterial and antifungal screening studies indicated that Li(HL) and its metal complexes are active, but CuL(H2O) is most active among them. Chemical and electrochemical syntheses of a series of the zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes were carried out on the basis of sterically hindered Schiff bases, which are the condensation products of 4,6-di-tert-butyl-2-aminophenol with the salicylaldehyde derivatives (H2L, H2L1). The structures and compositions of the synthesized binuclear complexes M2L2 and M2L 2 1 where M = Zn(II) and Cd(II), were proved by the data of elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The structures of the Zn2L2 · 2Py and Zn2L2 · 2DMF dimers were proved by X-ray diffraction analysis. The electrochemical dissolution of zero-valence zinc and cadmium in methanol in the presence of equimolar amounts of H2L and H2L1 made it possible to isolate dimeric complexes of the corresponding metals of the composition M2L2 and M2 2 1 .  相似文献

A new series of copper(II) mononuclear and copper(II)–metal(II) binuclear complexes [(H2L)Cu] ? H2O, [CuLM] ? nH2O, and [Cu(H2L)M(OAc)2] ? nH2O, n = 1–2, M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), or Zn(II), and L is the anion of dipyridylglyoxal bis(2-hydroxybenzoyl hydrazone), H4L, were synthesized and characterized. Elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and FT-IR spectra support the formulation of these complexes. IR data suggest that H4L is dibasic tetradentate in [(H2L)Cu] ? H2O and [Cu(H2L)M(OAc)2] ? nH2O but tetrabasic hexadentate in [CuLM] ? nH2O (n = 1–2). Thermal studies indicate that waters are of crystallization and the complexes are thermally stable to 347–402°C depending upon the nature of the complex. Magnetic moment values indicate magnetic exchange interaction between Cu(II) and M(II) centers in binuclear complexes. The electronic spectral data show that d–d transitions of CuN2O2 in the mononuclear complex are blue shifted in binuclear complexes in the sequences: Cu–Cu > Cu–Ni > Cu–Co > Cu–Zn, suggesting that the binuclear complexes [CuLM] ? nH2O are more planar than the mononuclear complex. The structures of complexes were optimized through molecular mechanics applying MM +force field coupled with molecular dynamics simulation. [(H2L)Cu] ? nH2O, [CuLM] ? nH2O, and the free ligand were screened for antimicrobial activities on some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial species. The free ligand is inactive against all studied bacteria. The screening data showed that [CuLCu] ? H2O > [(H2L)Cu] ? H2O > [CuLZn] ? H2O > [CuLNi] ? 2H2O ≈ [CuLCo] ? H2O in order of biological activity. The data are discussed in terms of their compositions and structures.  相似文献

1,6-Bis(2-formylphenyl) hexane (I) was derived from 1,6-dibromohexane with salicylaldehyde and K2CO3 and the ligand (L) was derived from compound I and 2,6-diaminopyridine. Then, the Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and La(III) complexes with L were synthesized by the reaction of this ligand and Cu(NO3)2 · 3H2O, Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O, Pb(NO3)2, Zn(NO3)2 · 6H2O, Cd(NO3)2 · 6H2O, and La(NO3)3 · 6H2O, respectively. The ligand and its metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR, UV-Vis spectra, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity measurements, and mass spectra. All complexes are diamagnetic and the Cu(II) complex is binuclear. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

Decamethyl-3,3′-bis(dipyrrolylmethene) dihydrobromide H2L · 2HBr (H2L is bis(3,4,7,8,9-pentamethylpyrrol-3-yl)methane), which is the simplest representative of a novel class of oligo(dipyrrolylmethenes) belonging to chromophore chelating nonmacrocyclic ligands, were examined by 1H NMR, IR, and electronic absorption spectroscopy. Complexation reactions of H2L · 2HBr with M(AcO)2 (M = Zn(II), Cu(II), and Co(II)) in DMF at 298.15 K were monitored by electronic absorption spectroscopy and studied by the molar ratio method. The thermodynamic constants K 0 of these reactions were estimated. The d metal ions coordinate H2L to give the binuclear homoleptic complexes [M2L2]. The reactions proceed through the intermediate binuclear heteroleptic complex [M2L(AcO)2] detected by spectroscopic methods. The thermodynamic stabilities of [M2L2] and [M2L(AcO)2] increase when moving from Cu(II) to Zn(II) and Co(II). The probability of formation and stability of [M2L2] containing 3,3′-bis(dipyrrolylmethene) are substantially higher than those of analogous complexes with the 2,2′-isomer (decamethyl-2,2′-biladienea, c). The low K 0 values for the complexation between H2L and Cu(AcO)2 are due to slow oxidation of the biladiene ligand into a bilatriene with participation of Cu2+ ions.  相似文献

A tridentate ONN donor Schiff-base hydrazone ligand, H2L, was synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-4-hydrazino-6-methyl pyrimidine with o-hydroxyacetophenone. The structure of the ligand was elucidated by IR and 1H NMR spectra which indicated the presence of three different coordinating groups, the oxygen atom of the phenolic OH group, the nitrogen atom of the azomethine, C=N, group and one of the nitrogen atoms of the heterocyclic ring. The ligand behaves either as a tridentate (N2O sites) neutral, mono- or di-basic ligand or as a bidentate (NO sites) monobasic ligand depending on the pH of the reaction medium and the metal ion. The mass spectrum of the ligand showed the presence of the molecular ion peak. Different types of metal complexes, mononuclear such as [(HL)M(OAc)]·xH2O (M = Cu or Zn), [(HL)M(OAc)H2O]·xH2O (M = Ni or UO2), [(HL)Co(OH2)Cl]·2H2O, [(H2L)FeCl3]·3½H2O, [(L)FeCl(H2O)2]· 2¼H2O, [(HL)L'FeCl(H2O)]·H2O (L' = 8-hydroxyquinoline, 8-HQ), [(HL)L'FeCl]Cl·xH2O (L' = 1,10-phenanthroline, phen, or 2,2'-bipyridyl, bpy) and [(HL)L'Cu]·ClO4 (L' = phen). Also, binuclear complexes with oxalic acid of the type [(HL)ClFe(ox)FeCl(HL)], [(HL)Cu(ox)Cu(HL)] were obtained. The IR spectra of the binuclear complexes indicated that the oxalate anion acts as a bridging tetradentate ligand. Elemental analyses, IR, electronic and ESR spectra as well as conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to elucidate the structures of the newly prepared metal complexes. Square-planar geometry is suggested for the Cu(II) complex, octahedral geometry for the Fe(III), Ni(II) complexes, tetrahedral geometry for the Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes and pentagonal-bipyramidal geometry for the UO2(VI) complex.  相似文献

4-(Chloroacetyl)diphenyl ether was synthesized from chloroacetyl chloride and diphenyl ether in the presence of AlCl3 as catalyst in a Friedel-Crafts reaction. Then, its keto oxime and dioxime derivatives were prepared. 4-phenoxy-(N-4-chlorophenylamino)phenylglyoxime (H2L) was synthesized from 4-(phenoxy)chlorophenylglyoxime and 4-chloroaniline. Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes of H2L were obtained. The mononuclear Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes of H2L have a metal–ligand ratio of 1:2 and the ligand coordinates through the two N atoms, as do most of the vic-dioximes. The structure of the ligand was identified by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 13C NMR (APT) spectroscopy and elemental analysis data. The structures of the complexes were characterized on the basis of FT-IR, ICP-AES, UV-Vis, elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical measurements were obtained by using cyclic voltammetry in DMF solution at room temperature. The electrochemical behaviors of H2L and its complexes showed that the redox process of H2L has one irreversible oxidation wave, whereas the redox processes of the complexes have both oxidation and reduction waves with metal centered.  相似文献

The novel crown-containing porphyrin 5-{4-[(4-hydroxybenzo-15-crown-5)-5-yldiazo]phenyl}-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin (H3L) and its transition metal complexes MHL (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)) and AgH2L were obtained. The compositions and structures of all the compounds were studied by MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy, electronic absorption and IR spectroscopy. The diamagnetic compounds were additionally characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy. It was proved that Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) are coordinated through the pyrrole N atoms, while Ag(I) is coordinated through the hydroxyl O atom and the diazo N atom of H3L.  相似文献

A tridentate ONN donor ligand, 5-methyl-3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyrazole; H2L, was synthesized by reaction of 2-(3-ketobutanoyl)phenol with hydrazine hydrate. The ligand was characterized by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra. 1H NMR spectra indicated the presence of the phenolic OH group and the imine NH group of the heterocyclic moiety. Different types of mononuclear metal complexes of the following formulae [(HL)2M][sdot]xH2O (M=VO, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd), [(HL)2M(H2O)2] (M=Mn and UO2) and [(HL)LFe(H2O)2] were obtained. The Fe(III) complex, [(HL)LFe(H2O)2] undergoes solvatochromism. Elemental analyses, IR, electronic and ESR spectra as well as thermal, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to elucidate the structures of the newly prepared metal complexes. A square-pyramidal geometry is suggested for the VO(IV) complex, square-planar for the Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, octahedral for the Fe(III) and Mn(II) complexes and tetrahedral for the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes, while the UO2(VI) complex is eight-coordinate. Transmetallation of the UO2(VI) ion in its mononuclear complex by Fe(III), Ni(II) or Cu(II) ions occurred and mononuclear Fe(III), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were obtained. IR spectra of the products did not have the characteristic UO2 absorption band and the electronic spectra showed absorption bands similar to those obtained for the corresponding mononuclear complexes. Also, transmetallation of the Ni(II) ion in its mononuclear complex by Fe(III) has occurred. The antifungal activity of the ligand and the mononuclear complexes were investigated.  相似文献

4,4′-Bis(chloroacetyl)diphenyl ether (HL) was synthesized from chloroacetyl chloride and diphenyl ether in the presence of AlCl3 as catalyst by Friedel-Crafts reaction. Subsequently, its keto oxime (H2L) and glyoxime (H4L) derivatives were also prepared. Then, five new substituted 4,4′-oxy-bis(aminophenyl-glyoximes) (H4L1–5) were synthesized from 4,4′-oxy-bis(chlorophenylglyoxime) and the corresponding amines. The Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) complexes of these ligands were prepared. The structures of these ligands and their complexes were identified by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and ICP-AES spectral data, elemental analyses, and magnetic measurements.  相似文献

1,3-Diaminopropan-2-ol N,N′-bis(3-formyl-5-tert-butylsalicylidene) (H3L) and the binuclear copper(II) complex based on H3L, [Cu2L(CH3COO)] (I), are synthesized. The compounds are studied by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopies, magnetochemistry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Compared to the copper(II) complexes with 1,3-diaminopropan-2-ol N,N′-bis(salicylidene), complex I is characterized by a substantial change in the structure resulting in weakening of the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction.  相似文献

Schiff base ligand (H3L) was prepared from the condensation reaction of protochatechualdehyde (3,4-dihydroxybenzaldhyde)with 2-amino phenol. From the direct reaction of the ligand (H3L) with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chlorides, and Fe(III)and Zn(II)nitrates in 2?M/1?L molar ratio, the five new neutral complexes were prepared. The characterization of the newly formed compounds was done by 1H NMR, UV?CVis, and IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The in vitro antibacterial activity of the metal complexes was studied and compared with that of free ligand.  相似文献

Novel cobalt, nickel and copper complexes were synthesized by regular reflux method and nano sized Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) metal complexes were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method using green solvent at various temperatures without the addition of any capping agent. The structural characterization was done by magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, elemental analysis, thermal analysis, FT‐IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, ESI mass, UV–Visible analysis. The morphology and size of the nano metal complexes were determined using FE‐Scanning electron microscopy, powder X‐ray diffraction data and atomic force microscopic techniques. All the spectral and analytical results reveal 1:2 metal to ligand ratios having [ML2(H2O)2] stoichiometry, here M=Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II), L=deprotonated ligand. The non‐electrolytic nature of the compound was confirmed by molar conductance experiment. The synthesized Schiff base and its metal complexes (7, 8 and 9) were tested for their biological activity. All the tested compounds exhibit decent anticancer and DNA cleavage activity and copper complex shows better activity results than other tested compounds.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes have been synthesized with a new tetradentate ligand viz. 1,3,7,9-tetraaza-2,4,8,10-tetraketo-6,12-diphenyl-cyclododecane (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to be nonelectrolytic nature for Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) while 1:2 electrolytes for Ni(II) complexes. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl and NO3).On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, square-planar for Ni(II) whereas tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The ligand and its complexes were also evaluated against the growth of bacteria and pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

Complexes [M(L)(L′)Cl?·?H2O], where M?=?Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II), L?=?ligand derived from reaction between benzofuran-2-carbohydrazide and 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde (TMeOBFC) and L′?=?2-aminothiophenol (2-atp), have been synthesized. The structures of the complexes have been proposed from analytical data, IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR, direct analysis in real time-mass spectra, ESR spectral data, magnetic, and thermal studies. The complexes are soluble in DMF and DMSO. Molar conductance values indicate that the complexes are non-electrolytes. Antibacterial and antifungal activities of the ligands and their metal complexes have been obtained against bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus and against fungi Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavus.  相似文献

Then, its Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Co(III) and La(III) complexes were synthesized by template effect by reaction of 2,6-diaminopyridine and 1,7-bis(2-formylphenyl)-1,4,7-trioxaheptane and Cu(NO3)2 · 3H2O, Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O, Pb(NO3)2, Co(NO3)2 · 6H2O, La(NO3)3 · 6H2O, respectively. The ligand and its metal complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR, UV–Vis spectra, magnetic susceptibility, thermal gravimetric analysis, conductivity measurements, mass spectra and cyclic voltammetry. All complexes are diamagnetic and Cu(II) complex is binuclear. The Co(II) was oxidized to Co(III). The comparative electrochemical studies show that the nickel complex exhibited a quasi-reversible one-electron reduction process while copper and cobalt complexes gave irreversible reduction processes in DMSO solution.  相似文献

Two new soluble phenylaminoglyoxime ligands, 4-isopropylanilinephenylglyoxime (L1H2), 4-benzylpiperidinephenylglyoxime (L2H2), were prepared by reacting 4-isopropylaniline and 4-benzylpiperidine with chlorophenylglyoxime. Mononuclear nickel(II), cobalt(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) complexes with these ligands were synthesized. On the basis of the magnetic and spectral evidence a square-planar geometry for Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes, a tedrahedral geometry for Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes and octahedral geometry for Co(II) complexes are proposed. These compounds were elucidated by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, and magnetic moments. The ligands were additionally characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra.  相似文献

Complexes of Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) and U(VI)O2 with 2-acetylpyridine-[N-(3-hydroxy-2-naphthoyl)] hydrazone (H2APHNH) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal (TG, DTG), spectral (1H NMR, IR, UV–Vis, ESR) and magnetic measurements. 1H NMR spectrum of the ligand suggests the presence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding. IR spectra show that H2APHNH is a bidentate, tridentate and/or tetradentate ligand. Thermal decomposition of some complexes ended with metal oxide as a final product. ESR spectra gave evidence for the proposed structure and the bonding for some Cu(II) complexes. Biological activity measurements were carried out.  相似文献

A series of transition metal (II/III) complexes containing organometallic Schiff base ligand (H2L) had been synthesized and characterized by using elemental analysis (C, H, N, M), molar conductivity, IR, UV–Vis, 1H NMR and mass spectral analysis. Also, their TG and DTG behaviors were investigated. The ligand was prepared by condensation of 4-aminosalicylic acid with 2-acetylferrocene in 1:1 M ratio. The data of elemental analysis indicated that the prepared complexes were synthesized also in a 1:1 M ratio. The ligand behaved as neutral bidentate ligand that coordinated to metal ions through protonated O-phenolic and protonated carboxylic-OH groups. All complexes had octahedral structure. DFT calculations for H2L ligand were determined with some parameters such as HOMO-LUMO energy gab, electronegativity and chemical hardness–softness. Antimicrobial activity of both H2L Schiff base ligand and its metal complexes was tested against different strains of bacteria and fungi species. Furthermore, all compounds had been screened for their anticancer activities against breast cancer (MCF-7) cell line. [Cu(H2L)(H2O)2Cl2]·2H2O complex had the lowest IC50 value = 47.3 µg/mL. For determining the more effective and probable binding mode between the H2L ligand, Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes with different active sites of 4K3V, 2YLB and 3DJD receptors, so molecular docking studies were investigated.  相似文献
