The moving single-bubble sonoluminescence of Ce3+ in water and ethylene glycol solutions of CeCl3 and (NH4)2Ce(NO3)6 was studied. As found, a significant part of intensity of the luminescence (100% with cerium concentration less than 10–4 M) is due to the sonochemiluminescence. A key reaction of sonochemiluminescence is the Ce4+ reduction by a solvated (or hydrated in water) electron: Ce4+ + es (eaq) → *Ce3+. Solvated electrons are formed in a solution via electrons ejection from a low-temperature plasma periodically generated in deformable moving bubble at acoustic vibrations. Reactions of heterolytic dissociation of solvents make up the source of electrons in the plasma. In aqueous CeCl3 solutions, the Ce4+ ion is formed at the oxidation of Ce3+ by OH radical. The latter species originates from homolytic dissociation of water in the plasma of the bubble, also penetrating from the moving bubble into the solution. The sonochemiluminescence in cerium trichloride solutions are quenched by the Br (acceptor of OH) and H+ ions (acceptor of eaq). In water and ethylene glycol solutions of (NH4)2Ce(NO3)6, the sonochemiluminescence also quenched by the H+ ion. The sonochemiluminescence in CeCl3 solutions is registered at [Ce3+] ≥ 10–5 M. Then the sonochemiluminescence intensity increases with the cerium ion concentration and reaches the saturation plateau at 10–2 M. It was shown that sonophotoluminescence (re-emission of light of bubble plasma emitters by cerium ions) also contributes to the luminescence of Ce3+ in solutions with [Ce3+] ≥ 10–4 M. If the cerium concentration is more than 10–2 M, a third source contributes to luminescence, viz., the collisional excitation of Ce3+ ions penetrating into the moving bubble.  相似文献

Aqueous suspensions of silicon dioxide porous nanoparticles (average size 10–30 nm, average pore size 5.8 nm) were obtained via ultrasonic dispersing. As was shown through recording SiO molecular lines in a moving single-bubble sonoluminescence spectrum, these nanoparticles penetrate into the bubble and then undergo decay. Similarly, suspensions of SiO2 nanoparticles, the pores of which were saturated with ruthenium dodecacarbonyl or elemental sulfur, were obtained by impregnation of the initial powder with solutions of these reagents in chloroform followed by evaporation of the solvent. Single-bubble sonoluminescence spectra of these suspensions contain more intense lines of Ru or S and Sn+ as compared with the SiO lines. This also proves the involvement of water insoluble ruthenium and sulfur compounds into bubble sonoluminescent reactions in the heterogenic aqueous medium. Using the method of comparing the experimentally obtained and computer simulated luminescent spectra, we determined the effective electronic temperature TeRu, which was 9000 ± 500 K, in non-equilibrium plasma of a bubble levitating in the ultrasonic field.  相似文献

Abstract

A series of Ru(II) complexes have been synthesized, and their electronic spectra and NMR spectroscopy properties were characterized. the chemical shifts of aromatic protons of [Ru(bpy)3] (PF6)2, [Ru(phen)3](ClO4)2 and [Ru(bqdi)3](PF6) move downfield, but the resonance peaks of cis-Ru(bpy)2Cl2 shift upfield. Within the visible spectra of the ruthenium(II) complexes appear a relatively high oscillator strength which is referred to as the π(Ru)→? (ligands) transition.  相似文献

Luminescence bands of Tb3+ and Gd3+ ions are detected during sonolysis in the regime of a moving single bubble in aqueous solutions of TbCl3 and GdCl3 salts with concentration 1–2 mol/L. Saturation with argon, low temperatures of solutions (?5°C), and a high concentration of salts are the factors facilitating sonoluminescence of the metal. Comparison with the characteristics of sonoluminescence of lanthanide ions studied earlier in the regimes of multibubble and single-bubble sonolysis with a stationary bubble shows that the electron excitation of metal ions in the given case is associated with translational displacements of the bubble. Our results confirm the validity of the sonochemical model of microdroplet injection, which explains the penetration of nonvolatile salts into cavitation bubbles as a result of their deformation during intense movements.  相似文献

Electronic structures of binuclear ruthenium complexes [Ru2(terpy)2(tppz)]4+ ( 1A ) and [Ru2Cl2(L)2(tppz)]2+ {L = bpy ( 2A ), phen ( 3A ), and dpphen ( 4A )} were studied by density functional theory calculations. Abbreviations of the ligands (Ls) are bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine, phen = 1,10‐phenanthroline, dpphen = 4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline, terpy = 2,2′:6′,2″‐terpyridine, and tppz = tetrakis(2‐pyridyl)pyrazine. Their mononuclear reference complexes [Ru(terpy)2]2+ ( 1B ) and [RuClL(terpy)]+ {L = bpy ( 2B ), phen ( 3B ), and dpphen ( 4B )} were also examined. Geometries of these mononuclear and binuclear Ru(II) complexes were fully optimized. Their geometric parameters are in good agreement with the experimental data. The binuclear complexes were characterized by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammograms. Hexafluorophosphate salts of binuclear ruthenium complexes of 3A and 4A were newly prepared. The crystal structure of binuclear complex 1A (PF6)4 was also determined. Orbital interactions were analyzed to characterize the metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) states in these complexes. The Cl? ligand works to raise the orbital energy of the metal lone pair, which leads to the low MLCT state. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Raman and infrared spectra of fac ‐tris(2‐phenylpyridinato‐N,C2′)iridium(III), Ir(ppy)3 and surface‐enhanced resonance Raman spectra of bis(2‐phenyl pyridinato‐) (2,2′bipyridine) iridium (III), [Ir(ppy)2 (bpy)]+ cation were recorded in the wavenumber range 150–1700 cm−1, and complete vibrational analyses of Ir(ppy)3 and [Ir(ppy)2 (bpy)]+ were performed. Most of the vibrational wavenumbers were calculated with density‐functional theory agree with experimental data. On the basis of the results of calculation and comparison of the spectra of both complexes and their analogue [Ru(bpy)3]2+, we assign the vibrational wavenumbers for metal–ligand modes; metal–ligand stretching wavenumbers are 277/307 and 261/236 cm−1 for Ir(ppy)3, and 311/324, 257/270, 199/245 cm−1 for [Ir(ppy)2 bpy]+. Surface‐enhanced Raman scattering spectra of [Ir(ppy)2 bpy]2+ were measured at two wavelengths on the red and blue edges of the low‐energy metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer band. According to the enhanced Raman intensities for the vibrational modes of both ligands ppy and bpy, the unresolved charge‐transfer band is deduced to consist of charge‐transfer transitions from the triplet metal to both ligands ppy and bpy. Density functional theory (DFT)-based relativistic calculations were performed to model the Ru L-edge X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra of the hexaammineruthenium complex [Ru(NH3)6]3+ and “blue dimer” water oxidation catalyst, cis,cis- [(bpy)2(H2O)RuIIIORuIII(OH2)(bpy)2]4+ (bpy is 2,2-bipyridine). Two computational approaches were compared: simulations without the core-hole and by modeling of the core-hole within the Z+1 approximation. Good agreement between calculated and experimental XANES spectra is achieved without including the core-hole. Simulations with algorithms beyond the Z+1 approximation were only possible in a framework of the scalar relativistic treatment. Time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) was used to compute the Ru L-edge spectrum for [Ru(NH3)6]3+ model compound. Three different core-hole treatments were compared in a real-space full multiple scattering XANES modeling within the Green function formalism (implemented in the FEFF9.5 package) for the [Ru(Mebimpy)(bpm)(H2O)]2+ complex. The latter approaches worked well in cases where spin–orbit treatment of relativistic effects is not required.  相似文献

The reductive and the oxidative electron-transfer photochemical reaction system of light-irradiated the mix solutions of Ru(bpy)3 2+ with [Fe(CN)6]4–, [Fe(CN)6]3–, [Fe(CN)5NO]2– and PB (Prussian Blue) have been studied. The double complexes which isolated from the precipitates of the photochemical reaction have been identified by means of Mössbauer spectroscopy. In order to clarify the chemical states of these isolated double complexes, we have (prepared and) studied Mössbauer spectra of the double complexes such as [Ru(bpy)3]3[Fe(CN)6]2.14H2O, [Ru(bpy)3]2[Fe(CN)6].10H2O, [Ru(bpy)3][Fe(CN)5NO].4H2O, and [Ru(bpy)3][PB]2.xH2O.  相似文献

The single-bubble sonoluminescence of d-f (Ce3+, Pr3+) and f-f (Tb3+) ions is detected in aqueous solutions of LnCl3. It has been shown that the luminescence of these ions is sonophotoluminescence, i.e., the reemission of the absorbed short-wavelength part of the radiation spectrum of a blackbody, which appears in a bubble levitating in the field of a standing ultrasonic wave, in the bulk of the solution. In view of the revealed inefficiency of reemission in GdCl3, the single-bubble sonoluminescence of Gd3+ has not been observed. The results indicate the low probability of the penetration of nonvolatile metal ions into the bubble in the hot shell model, which would be valid in single-bubble sonolysis and thereby confirm the validity of the injected droplet model, which explains the penetration to the bubble, electronic excitation, and luminescence of f-f ions Gd3+ and Tb3+ in multibubble sonolysis with an intensity much higher than the yield of their sonophotoluminescence.  相似文献

A novel and facile method for effective immobilization of Ru(bpy)32+ within titanate nanotubes (TiNTs) and its application as a sensitive solid-state electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor material was studied. The process involved the formation of Ru(bpy)32+-titanate nanotube nanocomposite (Ru-TiNTs) via electrostatic interactions by mixing TiNTs and Ru(bpy)3(ClO4)2 in aqueous medium. Then Ru-TiNTs were attached to the surface of a Pt electrode to form an ECL sensor. Characterization of Ru(bpy)32+-titanate nanotube nanocomposite was accomplished by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectrum, and field emission scanning electron microscope. The electrochemistry and ECL behavior of Ru(bpy)32+ immobilized on TiNTs were studied with tripropylamine as a coreactant. As-prepared Ru-TiNTs exhibited very good stability and Ru(bpy)32+ species contained showed excellent ECL behavior. Therefore, the as-prepared Ru(bpy)32+-titanate nanotube nanocomposite exhibited great promise as new luminescent materials for solid-state ECL detection.  相似文献

Tris(2,2′‐bipyridine)ruthenium(II) complex‐based carbonic anhydrase (CA) inhibitors, [Ru(bpy)2(bpydbs)]2+ {bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine and bpydbs = 2,2′‐bipyridinyl‐4,4′‐dicarboxilic acid bis[(2‐{2‐[2‐(4‐sulfamoylbenzoylamino)ethoxy]ethoxy}ethyl)amide]} and [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+, tethering plural benzenesulfonamide groups have been prepared. The CA catalytic activity was effectively suppressed by these synthetic [Ru(bpy)2(bpydbs)]2+ and [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+ inhibitors, and their dissociation constants at pH = 7.2 and at 25°C were determined to be KI = 0.93 ± 0.02 μM and KI = 0.24 ± 0.03 μM, respectively. Next, 2 photoinduced electron‐transfer (ET) systems comprising a Ru2+‐CA complex and an electron acceptor, such as chloropentaamminecobalt(III) ([CoCl(NH3)5]2+) or methylviologen (MV2+) were studied. In the presence of CA and a sacrificial electron acceptor, such as pentaamminechlorocobalt(III) complex, the photoexcited triplet state of 3([Ru(II)]2+)* was quenched through an intermolecular photoinduced ET mechanism. In case of the [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+‐CA‐MV2+ system, the photoexcited triplet state of 3([Ru(bpydbs)3]2+)* was quenched by sacrificial quencher through an intermolecular photoinduced ET mechanism, giving the oxidized [Ru(bpydbs)3]3+. Then the following intramolecular ET from the amino acid residue, Tyr6, near the active site of CA proceeded. We observed a transient absorption around at 410 nm, arising from the formation of a Tyr?+ in the [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+‐CA‐MV2+ system. These artificial Ru(II)‐CA systems may clearly demonstrate both intermolecular and intramolecular photoinduced ET reactions of protein and could be one of the interesting models of the ET proteins. Their photophysical properties and the detailed ET mechanisms are discussed in order to clarify the multistep ET reactions.  相似文献

Nitric oxide (NO) is one of the most important intercellular signaling molecules, and plays important roles in various biological systems. In this work, a unique RuII complex, tris[(5-(4-methylamino-3-aminobenzylamino)-1,10-phenanthroline)] ruthenium(II) hexafluorophosphate [Ru(MAA-phen)3][PF6]2, has been designed and synthesized as a luminescent probe for the detection of NO in aqueous media. The complex itself is almost non-luminescent, but can specifically react with NO under the aerobic conditions to afford its highly luminescent triazole derivative in aqueous media, [Ru(MTA-phen)3]2+ (MTA-phen: methyl-trazolebenzylamino-1,10-phenanthroline), accompanied by a 302-fold increase in luminescence intensity at 598 nm with a 130 nm Stokes shift. The luminescence response of [Ru(MAA-phen)3]2+ to NO is rapid, highly specific without interferences of other reactive oxygen/nitrogen species, and highly stable against the pH changes in the range of pH 4.5–9.5. These features enable [Ru(MAA-phen)3]2+ to be used as a probe for the highly selective and sensitive luminescence detection of NO in weakly acidic, neutral, and weakly basic media.  相似文献

The transient luminescence of three kinds of ruthenium complexes [Ru(bpy)2(7-CH3-dppz)]2+, [Ru(bpy)2(7-F-dppz)]2+ and [Ru(phen)2(7-F-dppz)]2+ bound to calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) has been studied by using the time-resolved spectroscopy. The results show that the luminescence is due to the radiative decay from the charge-transfer states to the ground state. By the interaction with DNA, the radiativeless rate of the photoexcited Ru complex molecules decreases, which results in the increase of luminescence lifetime and efficiency. The structure of the Ru complex has an important impact on the interaction with DNA. The [Ru(bpy)2(7-CH3-dppz)]2+ shows the longest luminescence lifetime (about 382 ns), while the [Ru(bpy)2(7-F-dppz)]2+ shows the shortest lifetime (about 65 ns). The possible origin of the luminescence dynamics is discussed. The excited state of Ru(II)[bpy]3 2+ dissolved in hydroxylic solvents is subject to specific solvent effects, which were hitherto not understood on a quantitative basis. We determined the solvent effects of linear monovalent alcohols on the energy gap law of internal conversion with the help of lifetime and intensity measurements. An on-line method for measurement of the temperature dependence of quantum efficiencies was introduced. A modified Franck-Condon analysis of emission spectra by taking into account the shape of a Morse potential of the involved states was applied to compute excited-state energies.Abbreviations used Ru(II)[bpy]3 2+ ruthenium(II)tris(2,2-bipyridyl) chloride - MLCT metal-to-ligand charge transfer - PMT photomultiplier tube  相似文献

Sonoluminescence spectra collected from 0.1 to 3.0 M aqueous solutions of formic acid sparged with argon show the OH(A2Σ+−X2Πi) and C2(d3Πg  a3Πu) emission bands and a broad continuum typical for multibubble sonoluminescence. The overall intensity of sonoluminescence and the sonochemical yield of HCOOH degradation vary in opposite directions: the sonoluminescence is quenched while the sonochemical yield increases with HCOOH concentration. By contrast, the concentration of formic acid has a relatively small effect on the intensity of C2 Swan band. It is concluded that C2 emission originates from CO produced by HCOOH degradation rather than from direct sonochemical degradation of HCOOH. The intensity of C2 band is much stronger at high ultrasonic frequency compared to 20 kHz ultrasound which is in line with higher yields of CO at high frequency. Another product of HCOOH sonolysis, carbon dioxide, strongly quenches sonoluminescence, most probably via collisional non-radiative mechanism.  相似文献

The paper reports Time Dependent Density Functional Theory (TD DFT) calculations providing the structure, electronic properties and spectra of [Ru(II)(bpy)3? n (dcbpy) n ]2+ and [Rh(III)(bpy)3? n (dcbpy) n ]3+ complexes, where bpy?=?2,2′-bipyridyl, dcbpy?=?4,4′-dicarboxy-2,2′-bipyridyl, and n?=?0,?1,?2,?3, studied as possible pigments for dye-sensitized solar cells. The role of the metallic ion and of the COOH groups on the optical properties of these complexes are compared and contrasted and their relevance as dyes for hybrid organic–inorganic photovoltaic cells is discussed. It was found that the optical spectra are strongly influenced by the metallic ion, with visible absorption bands for the Ru(II) complexes and only ultraviolet bands for the Rh(III) complexes. Upon excitation, the extra positive charge of the Rh3+ centre tends to draw electrons towards the metal ion, facilitating some charge transfer from the ligand to the metal, whereas in the case of the Ru2+ ion the electron transfer is clearly from the metal to the ligand. The carboxyl groups play an important role in strengthening the absorption bands in solution in the visible region. Of the complexes studied, the most suited as pigments for dye-sensitized solar cells are the [Ru(II)(bpy)3? n (dcbpy) n ]2+ complexes with n?=?1 and 2. This is based on the following arguments: (i) their intense absorption band in the visible region, (ii) the presence of the anchoring groups allowing the bonding to the TiO2 substrate and the charge transfer, and (iii) the good energy level alignment with the conduction band edge of the semiconducting substrate and the redox level of the electrolyte.  相似文献

The electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) (Ru(bpy)32+) in the presence of lidocaine was investigated under ultrasound (US) irradiation. The sonoelectrochemical experiments are conducted by indirect irradiation of ultrasound with a piezoelectric transducer operating at 430 kHz. In a supporting electrolyte at pH 11, the Ru(bpy)32+/lidocaine system gave weak ECL peaks around +1.2 V and +1.45 V, respectively. The ECL signal at +1.2 V was attributed to redox reactions of the oxidative intermediates of Ru(bpy)32+ and lidocaine, while the signal at +1.45 V was assumed to be caused by an advanced oxidation process due to the generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH) at the electrode surface. In this study, the potential modulation approach is employed in the study of ECL process upon US irradiations because it can suppress the noise components from sonoluminescence effectly and improve the resolution of ECL-potential profiles. It is found ECL signals were greatly enhanced upon US irradiation at the output power of 30 W, however, the relative intensity of ECL signal at +1.2 V was larger than that obtained with a rotating disk electrode even though the mass transport effect is equilvalent. The experiment results suggest that the chemical effect (i.e., generation of OH) by 430 kHz US becomes remarkable in the electrochemical process. Detailed ECL reaction routes under US are proposed in this study.  相似文献

We studied the spectral-luminescent characteristics of the luminescence of mixed-ligand polypyridine-phosphine complexes of ruthenium(II) cis-[Ru(bpy)2(PPh3)X](BF4) n with ligands 2,2′-bipyridyl (bpy) and triphenylphosphine (PPh3) and X = Cl, Br, CN, NO2, NH3, MeCN, pyridine (py), 4-aminopyridine (pyNH2), and 4,4′-bipyridyl (4,4′-bpy) in a 4: 1 EtOH-MeOH alcoholic mixture at 77 K. The radiative and nonradiative deactivation rate constants of the lowest electronically excited state of the complexes are determined. We find that triphenylphosphine has a greater effect on the photophysical characteristics of ruthenium(II) complexes compared to π-acceptor strong-field ligands, such as MeCN, CN, and NO2. At the same time, the characteristics of complexes cis-[Ru(bpy)2(PPh3)X] n+ considerably depend on the nature of the second monodentate ligand X, which is coordinated to ruthenium(II), and correlate with its position in the spectrochemical series of ligands.  相似文献

The luminescence spectra of cis-[Ru(bpy)2(L)Cl]+ (bpy is 2,2′-bipyridyl; L is pyrazine, pyridine, 4-amino-pyridine, 4-picolin, isonicotinamide, 4-cyanopyridine, or 4,4′bipyridyl) complexes are studied in alcoholic (4: 1 EtOH-MeOH) solutions at 77 K. A linear correlation is found between the energy of the lowest electronically excited metal-to-ligand charge transfer (3MLCT) state d π(Ru) → π* (bpy) and the parameter pK a of the free 4-substituted pyridines and pyrazine used as ligands L. The [B3LYP/6-31G + LanL2DZ(Ru)] hybrid method of the density functional theory is used to optimize the geometry of complexes and calculate their electronic structure and the charge distribution on the atoms of the nearest environment of the ruthenium ion. It is shown that there exists a linear unambiguous correlation between the negative charge on the nitrogen atom (qN L) of ligands L coordinated in the complex and the parameters pK a of free ligands. The calculated energies of 3MLCT excited states almost linearly (correlation coefficient 0.958) depend on the charge qN L, which completely agrees with experimental data.  相似文献

The absorption, luminescence, and luminescence excitation spectra of ruthenium(II) complexes cis-[Ru(bpy)2(L)Cl]+[bpy=2,2′-bipyridyl; L=NH3, pyrazine, pyridine, 4-aminopyridine, 4-picoline, isonicotinamide, 4-cyanopyridine, 4,4′-bipyridyl, or trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene] in alcoholic (4: 1 EtOH-MeOH) solutions are studied. At 77 K, the quantum yields and decay times of the luminescence of the complexes are measured and the deactivation rate constants of the lowest electronically excited metal-to-ligand charge transfer state (3MLCT) are determined. The linear correlation between the energy of the lowest state 3MLCT d π(Ru)>π*(bpy) of the cis-[Ru(bpy)2(L)Cl]+ complexes and the parameter pKa of the free 4-substituted pyridines and pyrazine used as ligands is established.  相似文献
