In this paper we study the ground state phase diagram of a one-dimensional t-U-J model, at half-filling. In the large-bandwidth limit and for ferromagnetic exchange with easy-plane anisotropy, a phase with gapless charge and massive spin excitations, characterized by the coexistence of triplet superconducting and spin density wave instabilities is realized in the ground state. With reduction of the bandwidth, a transition into an insulating phase showing properties of the spin- XY model takes place.Received: 6 February 2004, Published online: 9 April 2004PACS: 71.10.Hf Non-Fermi-liquid ground states, electron phase diagrams and phase transitions in model systems - 71.10.Fd Lattice fermion models (Hubbard model, etc.) - 74.20.Mn Nonconventional mechanisms (spin fluctuations, polarons and bipolarons, resonating valence bond model, anyon mechanism, marginal Fermi liquid, Luttinger liquid, etc.) - 71.27. + a Strongly correlated electron systems; heavy fermions - 75.10.Pq Spin chain modelsG.I. A one-dimensional model of interacting electrons with on-site U, nearest-neighbor V, and pair-hopping interaction W is studied at half-filling using the continuum limit field theory approach. The ground state phase diagram is obtained for a wide range of coupling constants. In addition to the insulating spin-density wave (SDW) and charge-density wave (CDW) phases for large U and V, respectively, we identify a bond-charge-density-wave (BCDW) phase W < 0, | U - 2V| < | 2W| and a bond-spin-density-wave (BSDW) for W > 0, | U - 2V| < W. The possibility of bond-located ordering results from the site-off-diagonal nature of the pair-hopping term and is a special feature of the half-filled band case. The BCDW phase corresponding to an enhanced Peierls instability in the system. The BdSDW is an unconventional insulating magnetic phase, characterized by a gapless spin excitation spectrum and a staggered magnetization located on bonds between sites. The general ground state phase diagram including insulating, metallic, and superconducting phases is discussed. A transition to the η-superconducting phase at | U - 2V| ≪ 2t?W is briefly discussed. Using the deformed Hubbard operator approach, we analytically study weak-coupling phase diagram of the one-dimensional t-J-V model at half filling. In the case of small deformed parameter ζ(≪1), the interactions induced by the no double occupancy constraint are softened, accessible by the bosonization field theory and the renormalization group technique. The ground state exhibits insulating behavior of density-wave correlations. The bond-spin-density-wave (BSDW) and bond-charge-density-wave (BCDW) phases are realized in the whole weak-coupling regime while the charge-density-wave (CDW) and spin-density-wave (SDW) phases depend on V/J > (V/J) c or V/J < (V/J) c , where (V/J) c = 1/4. Furthermore, our results are expected to adiabatically continue back to ζ = 1.  相似文献

Given two selfadjoint operators A and V=V + -V -, we study the motion of the eigenvalues of the operator A(t)=A-tV as t increases. Let α>0 and let λ be a regular point for A. We consider the quantities N +(λ,α), N -(λ,α), N 0(λ,α) defined as the number of the eigenvalues of the operator A(t) that pass point λ from the right to the left, from the left to the right or change the direction of their motion exactly at point λ, respectively, as t increases from 0 to α>0. An abstract theorem on the asymptotics for these quantities is presented. Applications to Schr?dinger operators and its generalizations are given. Current-voltage (J-V) and differential-conductivity-voltage ( dJ/dV-V) characteristics are analytically calculated at zero temperature for a point contact consisting of: two Peierls conductors P ( = 1, 2) separated by an insulator (I). Here P is a conductor with charge density wave (CDW). The J-V and dJ/dV-V characteristics depend on the CDW phases ( = 1, 2) in the mean field approximation. To calculate them analytically we assumed, = ≡Δ where ( = 1, 2) are the energy gaps of P ( = 1, 2). The current J has a discontinuous jump at eV = 2Δ for ϕ 1 = ϕ 2≠ 0. The differential conductivity dJ/dV has a singularity at eV = 2Δ for ϕ 1 = ϕ 2≠ 0. The relation J(V 1 2) = - J(- V 1 + π,ϕ 2 + π) is obtained. We study the single production of fourth-family quarks through the process ppQjX at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We have calculated the decay widths and branching ratios of the fourth-family quarks (b′ and t′) in the mass range 300–800 GeV. The cross sections for the signal and background processes have been calculated in a Monte Carlo framework. It is shown that the LHC can discover single t′ and b′ quarks if the CKM matrix elements |V tq |,|V qb|≳0.01.  相似文献

A simple agent model is introduced by analogy with the mean field approach to the Ising model for a magnetic system. Our model is characterised by a generalised Langevin equation = F ϕ + G ϕ t where t is the usual Gaussian white noise, i.e.: t t = 2Dδ t-t and t = 0. Both the associated Fokker Planck equation and the long time probability distribution function can be obtained analytically. A steady state solution may be expressed as P ϕ = exp{ - Ψϕ - ln G(ϕ)} where Ψϕ = - F/ G dϕ and Z is a normalization factor. This is explored for the simple case where F ϕ = Jϕ + bϕ2 - cϕ3 and fluctuations characterised by the amplitude G ϕ = ϕ + ɛ when it readily yields for ϕ≫ɛ, a distribution function with power law tails, viz: P ϕ = exp{2bϕ-cϕ2 /D}. The parameter c ensures convergence of the distribution function for large values of ϕ. It might be loosely associated with the activity of so-called value traders. The parameter J may be associated with the activity of noise traders. Output for the associated time series show all the characteristics of familiar financial time series providing J < 0 and D≈ | J|. The 1D system of correlated electrons characterized in addition to the usual on-site (U) and nearest-neighbour (V) repulsion by a correlated-hopping term (t*) is considered. The ground state phase diagram is studied within the framework of the weak-coupling continuum-limit approach. At filling v the effective interaction originating from the correlated-hopping term which appears in the continuum-limit theory is given by t* cos (πv). Being repulsive for v < 1/2 and attractive for v > 1/2, this interaction leads to a characteristic band-filling dependence of the phase diagram of the system. For v ≠ 1/2, depending on the relation between the bare values of the coupling constants (U, V, t* cos (π v)) and, hence, on the band-filling, the system shows three different phases in the infrared limit: a Luttinger metal, a nonmagnetic metal and a singlet superconducting phase. For v = 1/2, the correlated-hopping interaction is dynamically trivial, leading only to a renormalization of the oneelectron hopping amplitude and the phase diagram of the model coincides with that of the extended Hubbard model.  相似文献

We discuss the occurrence and the stability of charge density plateaux in ladder-like t-J systems (at zero magnetization M = 0) for the cases of 2- and 3-leg ladders. Starting from isolated rungs at zero leg coupling, we study the behaviour of plateaux-related phase transitions by means of first order perturbation theory and compare our results with Lanczos diagonalizations for t-J ladders (N = 2 × 8) with increasing leg couplings. Furthermore we discuss the regimes of rung and leg couplings that should be favoured for the appearance of the charge density plateaux.Received: 28 July 2003, Published online: 8 December 2003PACS: 71.10.Fd Lattice fermion models (Hubbard model, etc.) - 71.27. + a Strongly correlated electron systems; heavy fermions - 75.10.-b General theory and models of magnetic ordering - 75.10.Jm Quantized spin models  相似文献

In the near vicinity of Peierls transition temperature TP, we have measured the V-I characteristics of the quasi-one-dimensional conductor TaS3 under dark and photo-irradiation conditions. It is found that a significant enhancement of CDW current occurs only around the threshold voltage Vt under photo-irradiation. This effect can be interpreted as a result of screening of pinning potential for CDW condensate by photo-excited quasi-particles (QP's). Further the distribution of pinning potential intensity is reflected in the behavior of V-I characteristics near Vt. Our finding suggests that the strength of pinning potential can be controlled by the photo-excited QP's in quasi-1D conductors.  相似文献

Fritzsch like mass matrices with non-zero 22-elements both in U sector and D sector have been investigated in the context of latest data regardingm t phys , |V ub|, |V cb|, |V td| and |V ts|. Unlike several other phenomenological models, the present model not only accommodates the value ofm t phys in the range 150–240 GeV, encompassing the CDF and D0 values, but is also able to reproduce |V cb| ≊0.040 and |V ub/Vcb| = 0.08±0.02 and |V td| is predicted to lie in the range 0.005–0.014. Further, the angles of the unitarity triangle, related to the CP-violating asymmetries, are calculated to be in the ranges −1.0⩽sin2α⩽−0.1, 0.6 ⩽sin2α⩽1.0 and 0.48⩽sin2β⩽0.56, which are in agreement with other recent calculations.  相似文献

We present a simplification of Lieb's proof of the flux phase conjecture for interacting fermion systems—such as the Hubbard model—at half-filling on a general class of graphs. The main ingredient is a procedure which transforms a class of fermionic Hamiltonians into reflection-positive form. The method can also be applied to other problems, which we briefly illustrate with two examples concerning thet–V model and an extended Falicov-Kimball model.  相似文献

A phase diagram for a 2D metal with variable carrier density has been derived. It consists of a normal phase, where the order parameter is absent: a so-called “abnormal normal” phase where this parameter is also absent but the mean number of composite bosons (bound pairs) exceeds the mean number of free fermions; a pseudogap phase where the absolute value of the order parameter gradually increases but its phase is a random value, and finally a superconducting (here Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless) phase. The characteristic transition temperatures between these phases are found. The chemical potential and paramagnetic susceptibility behavior as functions of the fermion density and the temperature are also studied. An attempt is made to qualitatively compare the resulting phase diagram with the features of underdoped high-T c superconducting compounds above their critical temperature. Zh. éksp. Teor. We study the ground state phase diagram of the two dimensional tt′ — U Hubbard model concentrating on the competition between antiferro-, ferro-, and paramagnetism. It is known that unrestricted Hartree–Fock- and quantum Monte Carlo calculations for this model predict inhomogeneous states in large regions of the parameter space. Standard mean field theory, i.e., Hartree–Fock theory restricted to homogeneous states, fails to produce such inhomogeneous phases. We show that a generalization of the mean field method to the grand canonical ensemble circumvents this problem and predicts inhomogeneous states, represented by mixtures of homogeneous states, in large regions of the parameter space. We present phase diagrams which differ considerably from previous mean field results but are consistent with, and extend, results obtained with more sophisticated methods. We present a theoretical study of the electronic structure of bilayer HTSC cuprates and its evolution under doping and in a high magnetic field. Analysis is based on the t-t′-t″-J* model in the generalized Hartree-Fock approximation. Possibility of tunneling between CuO2 layers is taken into account in the form of a nonzero integral of hopping between the orbitals of adjacent planes and is included in the scheme of the cluster form of perturbation theory. The main effect of the coupling between two CuO2 layers in a unit cell is the bilayer splitting manifested in the presence of antibonding and bonding bands formed by a combination of identical bands of the layers themselves. A change in the doping level induces reconstruction of the band structure and the Fermi surface, which gives rise to a number of quantum phase transitions. A high external magnetic field leads to a fundamentally different form of electronic structure. Quantum phase transitions in the field are observed not only under doping, but also upon a variation of the field magnitude. Because of tunneling between the layers, quantum transitions are also split; as a result, a more complex sequence of the Lifshitz transitions than in single-layer structures is observed.  相似文献

We investigate the physical properties of two coupled chains of electrons, with a nearly half-filled band, as a function of the interchain hopping t and the doping. We show that upon doping, the system undergoes a metal-insulator transition well described by a commensurate-incommensurate transition. By using bosonization and renormalization we determine the full phase diagram of the system, and the physical quantities such as the charge gap. In the commensurate phase two different regions, for which the interchain hopping is relevant and irrelevant exist, leading to a confinement-deconfinement crossover in this phase. A minimum of the charge gap is observed for values of t close to this crossover. At large t the region of the commensurate phase is enhanced, compared to a single chain. At the metal-insulator transition the Luttinger parameter takes the universal value K ρ * = 1, in agreement with previous results on special limits of this model. Received 31 July 2000  相似文献

Current-voltage (J -Vcharacteristics of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) are studied at different temperatures upto high voltages ∼ 20 V in the hole-only device configuration. The characteristics are studied in the temperature range 310-210K. In the intermediate voltage range the J -V characteristics follow J V l+1 , where l > 1 . As the voltage increases to high values J still varies as a power law i.e. as Vm, but contrary to the literature result m becomes < 2 . This behavior is explained theoretically in terms of non-zero injection Schottky barriers. The complete analytical expressions for the actual trap filled limit voltage (V′ TFL) and J -V curves beyond V′ TFL are presented.  相似文献

We study the interplay of Anderson localization and interaction in a two chain Hubbard ladder allowing for arbitrary ratio of disorder strength to interchain coupling. We obtain three different types of spin gapped localized phases depending on the strength of disorder: a pinned 4k F Charge Density Wave (CDW) for weak disorder, a pinned 2k F CDWπ for intermediate disorder and two independently pinned single chain 2k F CDW for strong disorder. Confinement of electrons can be obtained as a result of strong disorder or strong attraction. We give the full phase diagram as a function of disorder, interaction strength and interchain hopping. We also study the influence of interchain hopping on localization length and show that localization is enhanced by a small interchain hopping but suppressed by a large interchain hopping. A gauge model featuring a chiral color symmetry of quarks was considered, and possible manifestations of this symmetry in proton-antiproton and proton-proton collisions at the Tevatron and LHC energies were studied. The cross section st[`(t)]\sigma _{t\bar t} for the production of t[`(t)]t\bar t quark pairs at the Tevatron and the forward-backward asymmetry AFBp[`(p)]A_{FB}^{p\bar p} in this process were calculated and analyzed with allowance for the contributions of the G′-boson predicted by the chiral color symmetry of quarks, the G′-boson massm G and the mixing angle θ G being treated as free parameters of the model. Limits on m G versus θ G were studied on the basis of data from the Tevatron on st[`(t)]\sigma _{t\bar t} and AFBp[`(p)]A_{FB}^{p\bar p}, and the region compatible with these data within one standard deviation was found in the m G-θ G plane. The region ofm G-mass values that is appropriate for observing the G′-boson at LHC is discussed.  相似文献

Good-quality hexagonal NbSe2 single crystals were prepared. In 2H-NbSe2, superconducting and charge density wave (CDW) transitions were found at T s = 7.4 K and T c = 35 K respectively as reported previously. We have noticed that these two transitions are changed to T c = 42 K and T s = 6.5 K, in 4H-NbSe2. Thermopower has shown clear anomaly at CDW transitions. The anisotropic upper critical field was calculated as ~3 and 6.3 for 2H- and 4H-single crystals around t = 0.81, where t = T/T s, from resistivity and explained in terms of coherence length. From the relation, Hc2 (T)=Hc2 (0)[1-t2]H_{\rm c2} (T)=H_{\rm c2} (0)[1-t^2], Hc2l (0)H_{\rm c2}^l (0) was calculated as ~8.15 T and 16.98 T at t = 0.84 in 2H-NbSe2 and 4H-NbSe2 respectively. However, Hc2t (0) = 2.68H_{\rm c2}^t (0) = 2.68T for both single crystals.  相似文献
