本文研究端部受力和力矩作用,且存在初曲率和初扭率的非圆截面弹性细杆的螺旋线平衡及其稳定性。描述弹性细杆平衡状态的Kirchhoff方程存在与杆的螺旋线平衡状态相对应的特解。直杆和圆环杆为螺旋线状态的两种特例。文中分析了螺旋线的几何特性与作用力和力矩之间的相互关系,并导出螺旋线平衡的一次近似解析形式稳定性判据。分析表明,松弛状态下弹性杆可处于螺旋线状态,直杆只有在轴向压力的作用下才能保持螺旋线平衡。无初曲率和初扭率弹性杆的螺旋线平衡稳定性必要条件是杆截面绕副法线轴的抗弯刚度大于或等于绕法线轴的抗弯刚度。此条件也适用于带初扭率的圆环杆及更普遍情形。无初曲率和初扭率的圆截面杆的螺旋线平衡恒稳定。  相似文献

弹性细杆的平衡和稳定性问题的研究在工程和分子生物学中有重要的应用背景。利用文中提出的复柔度概念,建立了用复弯矩表示的非圆截面杆平衡的Schrdinger方程。借助复曲率概念,导出以杆的曲率、挠率和截面相对Frenet坐标系的扭角为未知变量的2阶常微分方程,此方程与传统使用的Kirchhoff方程等价。文献中仅适用于圆截面杆平衡问题的Schrdinger方程为本文导出方程的特例。对于准对称截面杆,用小参数法分别建立了零次和一次近似方程,其中零次近似方程存在解析解。对于截面的主轴坐标轴与中心线的Frenet坐标轴重合的无扭转杆特殊情形,Schrdinger方程转化为Duffing方程,应用数值方法作出了Duffing杆变形后的三维几何图形。  相似文献

在Kirchhoff动力学比拟基础上讨论端部受轴向压力作用的圆截面弹性细杆的螺旋线平衡稳定性问题.弹性杆的平衡状态由Euler角描述的弹性杆平衡方程的特解确定.从Lyapunov或Euler的不同稳定性概念出发,对弹性杆的平衡稳定性的判断可得出不同的结果.根据一次近似扰动方程判断,弹性杆的螺旋线状态和圆环状态恒满足Lyapunov稳定性条件.但螺旋杆在轴向压力到达临界值时,圆环杆在扭转数到达临界值时将产生屈曲而丧失Euler稳定性.导出临界载荷和临界扭转数的计算公式.螺旋杆的临界载荷取决于螺旋线的高度和螺旋角:螺旋角趋近于π/2时螺旋杆转化为带扭率的直杆,其临界载荷的极限值与压杆的Euler载荷一致.文中对两类不同稳定性概念的区别和联系作出解释.  相似文献

本文从动力学观点讨论具有初扭率的非圆截面弹性细杆的螺旋线平衡稳定性。弹性杆平衡的动态稳定性建立在以弧坐标s和时间坐标t为双自变量的离散系统的Lyapunov稳定性概念基础上。对于两端约束状况固定不变的弹性杆,若静态稳定性条件已满足,其与弧坐标对应的本征值可根据端部约束条件确定。则螺旋线平衡的动态稳定性由时间域的本征值判断。在缓慢受扰运动条件下,引入尺度缩小的时间变量T=εt,可将动力学过程视为对平衡状态的摄动。证明在ε^2计算精度范围内,当螺旋线平衡的一次近似静态稳定性条件得到满足时,考虑动力学因素的稳定性条件必也同时满足。  相似文献

以可伸展空间结构元件的盘绕折叠过程为工程背景,分析受圆柱面单面约束的弹性直杆变形为螺旋杆,最终压缩为叠放的平面圆环的变形过程.对此空间大变形的分析不允许利用小变形假设进行简化.由于约束力的存在,也不能直接利用忽略分布力的Kirchhoff弹性杆方程.本文以表述截面姿态的欧拉角为变量,建立受圆柱面约束弹性杆平衡的非线性方程.利用方程的初积分计算杆截面的内力和力矩.忽略盘绕过程的惯性效应,将参数连续改变的螺旋线状态作为杆盘绕过程中的准平衡状态.导出为实现盘绕过程需要施加的轴向压力和扭矩随螺旋角的变化规律.根据一次近似稳定性理论分析得出:两端铰支弹性杆当相对扭率为零时不能保证螺旋线平衡的稳定性.若杆端支承允许存在相对扭转,则轴向压力和扭矩按文中确定的规律变化时可以保证盘绕过程的稳定性.  相似文献

基于Kirchhoff理论讨论圆截面弹性细杆的平面振动.以杆中心线的Frenet坐标系为参考系建立动力学方程.杆作平面运动时,其扭转振动与弯曲振动解耦.讨论任意形状杆的扭转振动和轴向受压直杆在无扭转条件下的弯曲振动,证明直杆平衡的静态Lyapunov稳定性与欧拉稳定性条件为动态稳定性的必要条件.考虑轴向力和截面转动惯性效应的影响,导出弯曲振动的固有频率.  相似文献

We consider the problem of determining the stability boundary for an elastic rod under thrust and torsion. The constitutive equations of the rod are such that both shear of the cross-section and compressibility of the rod axis are considered. The stability boundary is determined from the bifurcation points of a single nonlinear second order differential equation that is obtained by using the first integrals of the equilibrium equations. The type of bifurcation is determined for parameter values. It is shown that the bifurcating branch is the branch with minimal energy. Finally, by using the first integral, the solution for one specific dependent variable is expressed in terms of elliptic integrals. The solution pertaining to the complete set of equilibrium equations is obtained by numerical integration.  相似文献

The present paper focuses on the structural stability of long uniformly pressurized thin elastic tubular shells subjected to in-plane bending. Using a special-purpose non-linear finite element technique, bifurcation on the pre-buckling ovalization equilibrium path is detected, and the post-buckling path is traced. Furthermore, the influence of pressure (internal and/or external) as well as the effects of radius-to-thickness ratio, initial curvature and initial ovality on the bifurcation moment, curvature and the corresponding wavelength, are examined. The local character of buckling in the circumferential direction is also demonstrated, especially for thin-walled tubes. This observation motivates the development of a simplified analytical formulation for tube bifurcation, which considers the presence of pressure, initial curvature and ovality, and results in closed-form expressions of very good accuracy, for tubes with relatively small initial curvature. Finally, aspects of tube bifurcation are illustrated using a simple mechanical model, which considers the ovalized pre-buckling state and the effects of pressure.  相似文献

In the framework of elastic rod model, the Euler-Lagrange equations characterizing the equilibrium configuration of the polymer chain are derived from a free energy functional associated with the curvature, torsion, twisting angle, and its derivative with respect to the arc-length. The configurations of the helical ribbons with different crosssectional shapes are given. The effects of the elastic properties, the cross-sectional shapes,and the intrinsic twisting on the helical ribbons are discussed. The results show that the pitch angle of the helical ribbon decreases with the increase in the ratio of the twisting rigidity to the bending rigidity and approaches the intrinsic twisting. If the bending rigidity is much greater than the twisting rigidity, the bending and twisting of the helical ribbon always appear simultaneously.  相似文献

We consider the problem of Nicolai on dynamic stability of an elastic cantilever rod loaded by an axial compressive force and tangential twisting torque in continuous formulation. The rod is assumed to be non-uniform, i.e. having variable cross-section with non-equal principal moments of inertia. New linear equations and boundary conditions are derived from nonlinear governing equations. These equations form the basis for analytical and numerical studies. The important new details of this formulation include the pre-twisting effect due to the torque and compressibility of the rod. General formulae for the influence of small geometrical imperfections to the stability region are derived and numerical examples are presented.  相似文献

Methods are presented for obtaining exact analytical representations of supercoiled equilibrium configurations of impenetrable elastic rods of circular cross-section that have been pretwisted and closed to form rings, and a discussion is given of applications in the theory of the elastic rod model for DNA. When, as here, self-contact is taken into account, and the rod is assumed to be inextensible, intrinsically straight, transversely isotropic, and homogeneous, the important parameters in the theory are the excess link Δℒ (a measure of the amount the rod was twisted before its ends were joined), the ratio ω of the coefficients of torsional and flexural rigidity, and the ratio d of cross-sectional diameter to the length of the axial curve C. Solutions of the equations of equilibrium are given for cases in which self-contact occurs at isolated points and along intervals. Bifurcation diagrams are presented as graphs of Δℒ versus the writhe of C and are employed for analysis of the stability of equilibrium configurations. It is shown that, in addition to primary, secondary, and tertiary branches that arise by successive bifurcations from the trivial branch made up of configurations for which the axial curve is a circle, there are families of equilibrium configurations that are isolas in the sense that they are not connected to bifurcation branches by paths of equilibrium configurations compatible with the assumed impenetrability of the rod. Each of the isolas found to date is connected to a bifurcation branch by a path which, although made up of solutions of the governing equations, contains regions on which the condition of impenetrability does not hold. On the basis of the interaction between the electromagnetic field and a solid, the imperfect sensitivity of a superconducting rod is studied in this paper. The influences of the initial deflection of the rod and the initial magnetic field on the stability are discussed. The stability of equilibrium of non-linearly elastic rods, whose deformations obey the classical Kirchhoff’s equations, is considered. A variational formulation of the equilibrium problem is given, and the equilibrium equations for infinitesimal deformations superimposed to a finite transformation of a rod are deduced. The stability of annular rings, in which the twisting strain is non-null, is investigated by study of the second variation of the energy functional.  相似文献

A straightforward application of the Jacobi test is used to establish the stability of all equilibrium configurations of a cantilever rod with a free end and sliding end. It is demonstrated that in both cases, only the forms produced by the first critical load can be stable, while all other equilibrium forms are unstable. We consider the problem of a long thin weightless rod constrained to lie on a cylinder while being held by end tension and twisting moment. Applications of this problem are found, for instance, in the buckling of drill strings inside a cylindrical hole. In a previous paper the general geometrically exact formulation was given and the case of a rod of isotropic cross-section analysed in detail. It was shown that in that case the static equilibrium equations are completely integrable and can be reduced to those of a one-degree-of-freedom oscillator whose non-trivial fixed points correspond to helical solutions of the rod. A critical load was found where the rod coils up into a helix.Here the anisotropic case is studied. It is shown that the equations are no longer integrable and give rise to spatial chaos with infinitely many multi-loop localised solutions. Helices become slightly modulated. We study the bifurcations of the simplest single-loop solution and a representative multi-loop as the aspect ratio of the rod's cross-section is varied. It is shown how the anisotropy unfolds the `coiling bifurcation'. The resulting post-buckling behaviour is of the softening–hardening–softening type typically seen in the cellular buckling of long structures, and can be interpreted in terms of a so-called Maxwell effective failure load.  相似文献
