We present more general forms of the mean-value theorems established before for multiplicative functions on additive arithmetic semigroups and prove, on the basis of these new theorems, extensions of the Elliott-Daboussi theorem. Let be an additive arithmetic semigroup with a generating set ℘ of primes p. Assume that the number G(m) of elements a in with “degree” (a)=m satisfies

Let q be a power of a prime, and E be an elliptic curve defined over  . Such curves have a classical group structure, and one can form an infinite tower of groups by considering E over field extensions for all k≥1. The critical group of a graph may be defined as the cokernel of L(G), the Laplacian matrix of G. In this paper, we compare elliptic curve groups with the critical groups of a certain family of graphs. This collection of critical groups also decomposes into towers of subgroups, and we highlight additional comparisons by using the Frobenius map of E over  . Let G(OS)\mathbf{G}(\mathcal{O}_{S}) be an S-arithmetic subgroup of a connected, absolutely almost simple linear algebraic group G over a global function field K. We show that the sum of local ranks of G determines the homological finiteness properties of G(OS)\mathbf{G}(\mathcal{O}_{S}) provided the K-rank of G is 1. This shows that the general upper bound for the finiteness length of G(OS)\mathbf{G}(\mathcal{O}_{S}) established in an earlier paper is sharp in this case.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that the arithmetical rank of a squarefree monomial ideal I is equal to the projective dimension of R/I in the following cases: (a) I is an almost complete intersection; (b) arithdeg I=reg I; (c) arithdeg I=indeg I+1. We also classify all almost complete intersection squarefree monomial ideals in terms of hypergraphs, and use this classification in the proof in case (c).  相似文献

Since the modular curve has genus zero, we have a field isomorphism where X 2(z) is a product of Klein forms. We apply it to construct explicit class fields over an imaginary quadratic field K from the modular function j Δ,25(z):=X 2(5z). And, for every integer N≥7 we further generate ray class fields K (N) over K with modulus N just from the two generators X 2(z) and X 3(z) of the function field , which are also the product of Klein forms without using torsion points of elliptic curves. We show that for almost all points on any analytic curve on ℝ k which is not contained in a proper affine subspace, the Dirichlet’s theorem on simultaneous approximation, as well as its dual result for simultaneous approximation of linear forms, cannot be improved. The result is obtained by proving asymptotic equidistribution of evolution of a curve on a strongly unstable leaf under certain partially hyperbolic flow on the space of unimodular lattices in ℝ k+1. The proof involves Ratner’s theorem on ergodic properties of unipotent flows on homogeneous spaces. Dedicated to my inspiring teacher Professor A.R. Rao (VASCSC, Ahmedabad) on his 100th birthday. The rectangular assignment problem is a generalization of the linear assignment problem (LAP): one wants to assign a number of persons to a smaller number of jobs, minimizing the total corresponding costs. Applications are, e.g., in the fields of object recognition and scheduling. Further, we show how it can be used to solve variants of the LAP, such as the k-cardinality LAP and the LAP with outsourcing by transformation. We introduce a transformation to solve the machine replacement LAP.  相似文献

Variable neighbourhood search (VNS) is a metaheuristic, or a framework for building heuristics, based upon systematic changes of neighbourhoods both in descent phase, to find a local minimum, and in perturbation phase to emerge from the corresponding valley. It was first proposed in 1997 and has since then rapidly developed both in its methods and its applications. In the present paper, these two aspects are thoroughly reviewed and an extensive bibliography is provided. Moreover, one section is devoted to newcomers. It consists of steps for developing a heuristic for any particular problem. Those steps are common to the implementation of other metaheuristics.  相似文献

In this work we describe the Chen–Ruan cohomology of the moduli stack of smooth and stable genus 2 curves with marked points. In the first half of the paper we compute the additive structure of the Chen–Ruan cohomology ring for the moduli stack of stable n-pointed genus 2 curves, describing it as a rationally graded vector space. In the second part we give generators for the even Chen–Ruan cohomology ring as an algebra on the ordinary cohomology.  相似文献

In this paper we study the computation of the number of isomorphism classes of hyperelliptic curves of genus 2 over finite fields Fq with q even. We show the formula of the number of isomorphism classes, that is, for q = 2m, if 4 m, then the formula is 2q3 q2 - q; if 4 | m, then the formula is 2q3 q2 - q 8. These results can be used in the classification problems and the hyperelliptic curve cryptosystems.  相似文献

We propose and analyze a perturbed version of the classical Josephy–Newton method for solving generalized equations. This perturbed framework is convenient to treat in a unified way standard sequential quadratic programming, its stabilized version, sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming, and linearly constrained Lagrangian methods. For the linearly constrained Lagrangian methods, in particular, we obtain superlinear convergence under the second-order sufficient optimality condition and the strict Mangasarian–Fromovitz constraint qualification, while previous results in the literature assume (in addition to second-order sufficiency) the stronger linear independence constraint qualification as well as the strict complementarity condition. For the sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming methods, we prove primal-dual superlinear/quadratic convergence under the same assumptions as above, which also gives a new result.  相似文献

In the moduli space M \mathcal{M} g of genus-g Riemann surfaces, consider the locus RMO \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} of Riemann surfaces whose Jacobians have real multiplication by the order O \mathcal{O} in a totally real number field F of degree g. If g = 3, we compute the closure of RMO \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} in the Deligne–Mumford compactification of M \mathcal{M} g and the closure of the locus of eigenforms over RMO \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} in the Deligne–Mumford compactification of the moduli space of holomorphic 1-forms. For higher genera, we give strong necessary conditions for a stable curve to be in the boundary of RMO \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} . Boundary strata of RMO \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} are parameterized by configurations of elements of the field F satisfying a strong geometry of numbers type restriction.  相似文献

We introduce a class of ordered monoids defined by the existence of certain “unique products” with respect to artinian and narrow subsets of the monoid. The logical relationships between this and other significant classes of monoids are explicated with several examples. We conclude with results on skew generalized power series rings. The new class of monoids provides the appropriate setting for obtaining results on reduced rings and domains of skew generalized power series, and on analogues of Armendariz rings.  相似文献

In this paper, a projection iterative scheme is introduced for the approximation method for finding common fixed points of two relatively nonexpansive mappings in a real uniformly smooth and uniformly convex Banach space and, by using the iterative scheme, we obtain a strong convergence theorem and some applications of the main result. This paper deals with connections on non-archimedean, especially p-adic, analytic curves, in the sense of Berkovich. The curves must be compact but the connections are allowed to have a finite number of meromorphic singularities on them. For any choice of a semistable formal model of the curve, we define a geometric, intrinsic notion of normalized radius of convergence of a full set of local solutions as a function on the curve, with values in (0, 1]. For a sufficiently refined choice of the semistable model, we prove continuity, logarithmic concavity and logarithmic piece-wise linearity of that function. We introduce and characterize Robba connections, that is connections whose sheaf of solutions is constant on any open disk contained in the curve, precisely as it happens in the classical case.  相似文献

We present an efficient method to solve the problem of the constrained least squares approximation of the rational Bézier curve by the polynomial Bézier curve. The presented algorithm uses the dual constrained Bernstein basis polynomials, and exploits their recursive properties. Examples are given, showing the effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献
