A Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser operating in a non-soliton regime is demonstrated. Dispersive wave generation is observed as a result of third order dispersion in the vicinity of zero dispersion. The characteristics of the Ti:sapphire laser operating in a positive dispersion regime are presented, where the oscillator directly generates pulses with duration continuously tunable from 0.37~ps to 2.11~ps, and 36~fs pulses are achieved after extracavity compression. The oscillation is numerically simulated with an extended nonlinear Schr?dinger equation, and the simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.  相似文献

同时考察了群速色散失配、最低阶群速色散和二阶群速色散。研究了在BBO晶体中飞秒激光脉冲的谐产生,计算了BBO晶体的作为波长函数的晶体的最低阶和二谐群速色散,借助求解改进的耦合波方程的数值计算,得到了飞秒脉冲的二次及三次谐波辐射,分析了最低工阶及二阶GVD对于基波脉冲和谐波脉的影响,最后考虑了三次谐波产生中群速失配的补偿。  相似文献

We present a detailed theoretical and experimental characterization of a new methodology for stimulated Raman spectroscopy using two duplicates of a chirped, broadband laser pulse. Because of the linear variation of laser frequency with time (‘chirp’), when the pulses are delayed relative to one another, there exists a narrow bandwidth, instantaneous frequency difference between them, which, when resonant with a Raman‐active vibration in the sample, generates stimulated Raman gain in one pulse and inverse Raman loss in the other. This method has previously been used for coherent Raman imaging and termed ‘spectral focusing’. Here, gain and loss signals are spectrally resolved, and the spectrally integrated signals are used to determine the spectral resolution of the measured Raman spectrum. Material dispersion is used to generate a range of pulse durations, and it is shown that there is only a small change in the magnitude of the signal and the spectral resolution as the pulse is stretched from 800 to 1800 fs in duration. A quantitative theory of the technique is developed, which reproduces both the magnitude and linewidth of the experimental signals when third‐order dispersion and phase‐matching efficiency are included. The theoretical calculations show that both spectral resolution and signal magnitude are severely hampered by the third‐order dispersion in the laser pulse, and hence, a minimal amount of chirp produces the most signal with only a slight loss of spectral resolution. 利用耦合非线性薛定谔方程(CNLSE)为非线性偏振旋转(NPE)锁模自相似光纤激光器建立了一种新的数值模型.模型中,用CNLSE描述脉冲在单模光纤中的传播,在增益光纤中同时考虑了增益带宽和增益饱和作用,用传输矩阵描述构成NPE锁模的光学元件.优化了腔内净色散和光纤长度等参数,模拟了脉冲在激光腔内的演化特性,得到了典型的自相似脉冲运行区域及特点.在最佳自相似脉冲运行区域内,得到了能量约为7 nJ、脉宽约11 ps、线性啁啾的抛物脉冲.比较了不同腔内净色散条件下输出脉冲的特点,给出了三阶色散对输出脉冲的影响. 关键词: 自相似脉冲 非线性偏振旋转锁模 耦合非线性薛定谔方程 数值模拟  相似文献

研究了强双折射光纤中沿偏振主轴入射的超短光脉冲压缩效应。当考虑三阶色散效应时,三阶色散与光纤非线相互作用能增强一偏振光脉冲的压缩而抑制另一偏振光脉冲的压缩。正三阶和的强慢孤子压缩,负三阶色散增强快孤子压缩,三阶色散参量越大,脉冲压缩效果越明显。  相似文献

以包含了三、四阶色散项的耦合非线性薛定谔方程为基础,重点研究了三、四阶色散对交叉相位调制不稳定性的影响。结果表明:三阶色散对调制不稳定性不起作用;当满足一定条件时,由于四阶色散的影响,不仅在光纤的反常色散区,而且在光纤的正常色散区,交叉相位所致的调制不稳定性均发生在两个频谱区。当光纤各参量及两束入射光波功率一定时,光纤反常色散区第一区域的增益谱要比正常色散区第一区域的增益谱宽;同时,反常色散区第二区域的增益谱比正常色散区第二区域的增益谱更靠近零点;进一步对比反、正常色散区的这两个频谱区,发现两个频谱区的范围有确定的对应关系。  相似文献

Compression of sub-nanojoule laser pulses using a commercially available photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with zero dispersion wavelength of 860 nm is discussed. A twofold pulse compression starting from 24 fs transform limited seed pulses around 800 nm is experimentally demonstrated as a verification of our simulations. Theory shows that by the optimization of input and output chirp parameters up to the third order, high quality, 5.7 fs pulses can be generated from a cost efficient experimental setup. Further calculations show that 1 ps pulses with central wavelength of 800 nm can be compressed down to 50 fs in the normal dispersion regime of the fiber with proper dispersion compensation. Calculations also show that dispersion flattened fibers can improve both the quality and the duration of compressed pulses. PACS 42.65.Re  相似文献

Time of flight mass spectrometry (TOF-MS) in combination with laser ablation (LA) applied for low isotope composition measurements is limited by energy and spatial dispersion of ions, spatial charge density, and some other factors. In order to reduce these factors that make the extraction of the plasma ions difficult, we used a second laser to create ions by non-isotope-selective photoionization of neutral particles. The photoionization was carried out in uranium vapor beam by the third harmonic of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser. This work presents the results of tentative experiments to estimate the characteristics of the LA-TOF-MS method with non-selective photoionization.  相似文献

A directly diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Cr4+:YAG laser is demonstrated for what is to our knowledge the first time. Pulses as short as 65 fs with up to 30 mW of average output power, at a central wavelength of 1569 nm, were obtained at a repetition rate of 100 MHz. Low-loss chirped mirrors have been used for dispersion compensation up to the third order. Comparison with an Yb-fiber-pumped configuration shows good prospects for improvement.  相似文献

A method for measuring laser seeding efficiencies by use of group-velocity dispersion has been developed. By tuning the laser near a resonance in an atomic-vapor filter it is possible to temporally decouple the seeded (narrow-band) light from the unseeded (broadband) light. We measured a seeding efficiency of 99.8% of the third harmonic of an injection-seeded Ti:sapphire laser. A model for the observed dispersion has been developed and tested. The group-velocity dispersion in the filter may also be used to chirp pulses for spectral analysis in the time domain.  相似文献

We study the influence of higher-order effects such as third order dispersion (TOD), fourth order dispersion (FOD), quintic nonlinearity (QN), self steepening (SS) and second order nonlinear dispersion (SOND) on the dynamics of dissipative soliton (DS) in metamaterials. Considering each higher-order effect as a perturbation to the system and following Lagrangian variational method, we demonstrate stable dynamics of DS as a result of the interplay between different higher-order effects. By use of a transmission-grating-based Michelson interferometer, second-order interferometric as well as intensity autocorrelation traces of the third harmonic of a Ti:sapphire 50-fs laser beam produced in Ar have been measured. The duration of the harmonic is found to be that expected from lowest-order perturbation theory. At this wavelength, the performance of the interferometer with respect to pulse-front distortion and dispersion is found to be satisfactory. This result is a first step toward the use of the interferometer for the temporal characterization of higher harmonics or harmonic superposition forming attosecond pulse trains.  相似文献

实验研究了线偏振和圆偏振状态下的飞秒强激光脉冲在块状材料中的传输过程。不同偏振的激光脉冲在传输过程中得到了不同程度的光谱展宽,经色散补偿后,脉冲时域宽度均得到了压缩。详细分析了压缩脉冲的脉宽以及啁啾情况与入射激光脉冲能量之间的关系,比较了飞秒激光在线偏振及圆偏振情况下的不同压缩效果。在线偏振入射光情况下得到了最短21fs的压缩脉冲宽度,在圆偏振情况下得到的最短脉冲宽度为22fs。实验结果表明,这种光谱展宽与色散补偿方式对圆偏振光同样适用,而且圆偏振的入射激光将更有利于对更高能量的脉冲进行压缩。在色散补偿量相同的情况下,压缩效果随入射脉冲能量变化的规律符合理论估计。  相似文献

本文以平均近似法处理光纤链的损耗理论为前提,采用一组非零色散位移光纤链的参量,用分步傅里叶方法对20Gb/s,1000km的归零码光脉冲进行了数值模拟.数值结果表明,在该光纤链上可实现双向准稳传输,并讨论了三阶色散对光脉冲传输的影响.  相似文献
