We report a generalization of our earlier formalism [Pramana, 54, 663 (1998)] to obtain exact solutions of Einstein-Maxwell’s equations for static spheres filled with a charged fluid having anisotropic pressure and of null conductivity. Defining new variables: w=(4π/3)(ρ+ε)r 2, u=4πξr 2, v r=4πp r r 2, v =4πp r 2[ρ, ξ(=−(1/2)F 14 F 14), p r, p being respectively the energy densities of matter and electrostatic fields, radial and transverse fluid pressures whereas ε denotes the eigenvalue of the conformal Weyl tensor and interpreted as the energy density of the free gravitational field], we have recast Einstein’s field equations into a form easy to integrate. Since the system is underdetermined we make the following assumptions to solve the field equations (i) u=v r=(a 2/2κ)r n+2, v =k 1 v r, w=k 2 v r; a 2, n(>0), k 1, k 2 being constants with κ=((k 1+2)/3+k 2) and (ii) w+u=(b 2/2)r n+2, u=v r, v v r=k, with b and k as constants. In both cases the field equations are integrated completely. The first solution is regular in the metric as well as physical variables for all values of n>0. Even though the second solution contains terms like k/r 2 since Q(0)=0 it is argued that the pressure anisotropy, caused by the electric flux near the centre, can be made to vanish reducing it to the generalized Cooperstock-de la Cruz solution given in [14]. The interior solutions are shown to match with the exterior Reissner-Nordstrom solution over a fixed boundary. Dedicated to Prof. F A E Pirani.  相似文献

The polarization of the leading Λ hyperons produced on carbon and lead target nuclei by 4–10 GeV neutrons in the angle range Θ<8.5° with respect to the beam and with only neutral-particle accompaniment is measured: 〈Π〉=−0.096±0.018 for C and 〈Π〉=− 0.128±0.047 for Pb. The dependence of the polarization on the transverse momentum and the Feynman variable is measured. The normalized invariant cross section as a function of p 2 is found to be approximated by the function A exp(−Bp 2 ), where the parameter B is independent of the kind of nucleus (B=8.71±0.09 (GeV/c)−2 for carbon and B=8.83±0.18 (GeV/c)−2 for lead). Twenty high energy nuclear interactions produced in the graphite units of an emulsion chamber were recorded. The emulsion chamber was exposed to cosmic rays at an atmospheric depth of 10 g cm−2 for about 7 hr over Hyderabad, India. Fourteen interactions which radiated energyΣ E r⩾1000 GeV in the form ofγ-rays were analysed in detail. The median energy 〈Σ E r〉 of the interactions was 1600 GeV. Results concerning the multiplicity, the transverse and longitudinal momentum distributions, and the fractional energy distribution ofγ-rays in these interactions are presented. The average transverse momentum ofπ 0—mesons <pt π 0> is found to increase very slowly with the primary energyE 0 and it can be approximated by the function <pt π 0>=0·238E 0 0.06 .  相似文献

The integral energy spectrum of primary cosmic rays has been obtained. In the energy range (2.4×103−1.1×105 GeV), the spectrum of all nuclei is consistent with a power law of indexγ=1.55±0.06 and the flux of all nuclei is:N(⩾E 0)⋍(5.1±1.8)×10−1×E 0 −1.55 particles/cm2 sterad. sec., whereE 0 is in GeV. The spectrum of primaryα-particles in the energy range (4.4×103−4.8×104) GeV is also consistent with a power law of indexγ=1.71±0.12 and the flux is:N(⩾E 0)=(4.2±1.4)×10−1×E 0 −1.71 , particles per cm2 sterad. sec, whereE 0 is in GeV.  相似文献

We present two rotating black hole solutions with axion ξ, dilaton f{\phi} and two U(1) vector fields. Starting from a non-rotating metric with three arbitrary parameters, which we have found previously, and applying the “Newman–Janis complex coordinate trick” we get a rotating metric g μν with four arbitrary parameters namely the mass M, the rotation parameter a and the charges electric Q E and magnetic Q M . Then we find a solution of the equations of motion having this g μν as metric. Our solution is asymptotically flat and has angular momentum J = M a, gyromagnetic ratio g = 2, two horizons, the singularities of the solution of Kerr, axion and dilaton singular only when r = a cos θ = 0 etc. By applying to our solution the S-duality transformation we get a new solution, whose axion, dilaton and vector fields have one more parameter. The metrics, the vector fields and the quantity l = x+ie-2f{\lambda=\xi+ie^{-2\phi}} of our solutions and the solution of: Sen for Q E , Sen for Q E and Q M , Kerr–Newman for Q E and Q M , Kerr, Reference Kyriakopoulos [Class. Quantum Grav. 23:7591, 2006, Eqs. (54–57)], Shapere, Trivedi and Wilczek, Gibbons–Maeda–Garfinkle–Horowitz–Strominger, Reissner–Nordstr?m, Schwarzschild are the same function of a, and two functions ρ 2 = r(r + b) + a 2 cos2 θ and Δ = r(r + b) − 2Mr + a 2 + c, of a, b and two functions for each vector field, and of a, b and d respectively, where a, b, c and d are constants. From our solutions several known solutions can be obtained for certain values of their parameters. It is shown that our two solutions satisfy the weak the dominant and the strong energy conditions outside and on the outer horizon and that all solutions with a metric of our form, whose parameters satisfy some relations satisfy also these energy conditions outside and on the outer horizon. This happens to all solutions given in the “Appendix”. Mass formulae for our solutions and for all solutions which are mentioned in the paper are given. One mass formula for each solution is of Smarr’s type and another a differential mass formula. Many solutions with metric, vector fields and λ of the same functional form, which include most physically interesting and well known solutions, are listed in an “Appendix”.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a model of calculation with respect to the interactions of high-energy nuclei with matter. Based on this model, we obtain results on energy and angular spectra of the n- and π-particles produced in collisions of deuterium and tritium nuclei at energiesT d=1 GeV/nucleon with light targets such as Li, Be. We have also estimated the production yields of neutrons and π-mesons in targets of various radii, as well as mean energies of these these particles. Summarizing, we find that the lithium target of radiusR=10−12 cm for which the energy cost επ to produce one π-meson is estimated as 6.7 GeV/π for a d-beam and 5.3 GeV/π for a t-beam is the most preferred pion-production target.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to obtain further information about the source of proton relaxation in the Mn(II)-human serum albumin complex. For this purpose, proton relaxation rates in albumin solutions 1/T 1 and 1/T 2 were measured versus increasing amounts of manganese [Mnt]. The fractions of manganese bound to albumin [Mnb] and free manganese [Mnf] were then determined from proton relaxation rate enhancement data. Paramagnetic contributions of bound manganese to the observed relaxation rates (1/T 1p*)b and (1/T 2p*)b were also determined. Finally, the (1/T 2p*)b/(1/T 1p*)b ratio was used in a derived equation to estimate an effective correlation time τ. Mean τ value of the complex was found to be in the order of 3 ns, while the hydration number of bound manganese q was estimated to be about 4. The 1/τ was found to be the sum of the inverse values of rotational correlation time 1/τ r, mean residence time of water in hydration spheres of the complex 1/τ m, and longitudinal electronic relaxation time of manganese 1/τ s in the complex. In conclusion, the relaxation mechanism in albumin solutions containing Mn(II) can be interpreted through dipolar and scalar interactions modulated by τ r, τ m and τ s. This analysis enables one to get reasonable figures for the τ r and q of Mn(II) in albumin solution.  相似文献

We report on our measurement of the inclusive spectrum of positive pions from the reaction pp→π++X on a CH 2 internal target of the ITEP proton synchrotron at 1.5 GeV/c with a missing mass resolution of about 1 MeV/c2. The goal of our experiment was the search for the hypothetical narrow πNN resonance (0.5\ MeV/c2 width and a mass of 2.06\ GeV/c2) with I(J P P)=even(0), called d′. We do not see any statistically significant d′-signal. The upper limit for d′ production cross-section in pp-interactions is near 2μb at 84%C.L. Received: 5 November 1997  相似文献

The excess 1/f noise in a random lattice with bond resistances r∼exp(−λx), where x is a random variable and λ≪1, is studied theoretically. It is shown that if the correlation function {δr 2}∼r r θ+2, then the relative spectral density of the noise in the system is expressed as C e∼λm exp(−λ(1−p c)), where p c is the percolation threshold and md (ν is the critical exponent of the correlation length and d is the dimensionality of the problem). It is hypothesized that the exponent m possesses a dual universality: It is independent of 1) the geometry of the lattice and 2) the θ-mechanism responsible for the generation of the local noise. Numerical modeling in a three-dimensional lattice gives m=52.3 for θ=1 and θ=0, in agreement with the hypothesis. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 63, No. 8, 614–618 (25 April 1996)  相似文献

The global fit of the Standard Model to electroweak precision data, routinely performed by the LEP electroweak working group and others, demonstrated impressively the predictive power of electroweak unification and quantum loop corrections. We have revisited this fit in view of (i) the development of the new generic fitting package, Gfitter, allowing for flexible and efficient model testing in high-energy physics, (ii) the insertion of constraints from direct Higgs searches at LEP and the Tevatron, and (iii) a more thorough statistical interpretation of the results. Gfitter is a modular fitting toolkit, which features predictive theoretical models as independent plug-ins, and a statistical analysis of the fit results using toy Monte Carlo techniques. The state-of-the-art electroweak Standard Model is fully implemented, as well as generic extensions to it. Theoretical uncertainties are explicitly included in the fit through scale parameters varying within given error ranges. This paper introduces the Gfitter project, and presents state-of-the-art results for the global electroweak fit in the Standard Model (SM), and for a model with an extended Higgs sector (2HDM). Numerical and graphical results for fits with and without including the constraints from the direct Higgs searches at LEP and Tevatron are given. Perspectives for future colliders are analysed and discussed. In the SM fit including the direct Higgs searches, we find M H =116.4−1.3+18.3 GeV, and the 2σ and 3σ allowed regions [114,145] GeV and [[113,168] and [180,225]] GeV, respectively. For the strong coupling strength at fourth perturbative order we obtain α S (M Z 2)=0.1193−0.0027+0.0028(exp )±0.0001 (theo). Finally, for the mass of the top quark, excluding the direct measurements, we find m t =178.2−4.2+9.8 GeV. In the 2HDM we exclude a charged-Higgs mass below 240 GeV at 95% confidence level. This limit increases towards larger tan β, e.g., is excluded for tan β=70.  相似文献

The prospects for the measurement of the tensor structure of the vertex between a standard model Higgs boson and two weak gauge bosons using the distribution of the azimuthal angles between the two tagging jets in the weak boson fusion channel are studied in a Monte Carlo analysis using the fast simulation of the ATLAS detector. The decay channels H→τ+τ-→ll+4ν, H→τ+τ-→lh+3ν at mH=120 GeV and H→W+W-→llνν at mH=160 GeV are used in the analysis. For a standard model Higgs boson it is found that purely anomalous couplings are expected to be excluded at a confidence level corresponding to 2σ or more at mH=120 GeV and more than 5σ at mH=160 GeV from 30 fb-1 of data. With a value of 1 roughly reproducing the standard model cross section for a purely anomalous coupling, the standard deviation in a measurement of a contribution of a CP even anomalous coupling in addition to the standard model coupling is estimated to be 0.20 at mH=120 GeV and 0.09 at mH=160 GeV.  相似文献

The nucleon electromagnetic form factorsG E P (q2),G M P (q2) and the axial-vector form factor GA(q2) are studied in a relativistic model of independent quarks confined by an equally mixed scalar-vector square root potentialV q(r)=1/2(1+γ 0)(ar 1/2+ν 0) taking into account the appropriate centre-of-mass corrections. The respective root-mean-square radii associated withG E P (q2) and G A (q2) come out as [〈r 2E P ]1/2=0.86 fm and 〈r A 21/2=0.88 fm. Restoration of chiral symmetry in this model is discussed to derive the pion-nucleon form factorG πNN(q2) and consequently the pion-nucleon coupling constant is obtained asg πNN(q2)=12.81 as compared tog πNN(q2)exp⋍13.  相似文献

We present a comprehensive study of the inclusive production of V0V0 pairs (V0=Λ, Λ̄ or KS ) by Σ- and π- of 340 GeV/c momentum and neutrons of 260 GeV/c mean momentum in copper and carbon targets. In particular, the dependence of the xF spectra on the combination of beam-particle and produced V0V0 pair is investigated and compared to predictions obtained from PYTHIA and QSGM calculations. The data and these predictions differ in many details, the agreement can at best be termed as qualitative. A signal from decays of the tensor meson f’2(1525) was observed in the KS KS mass distribution and inclusive production cross sections were measured. No signal was found from the double-strange H-dibaryon decaying to ΛΛ.  相似文献

A quadrupole mass filter (QMF) can operate with a large acceptance and high transmission at the bottom vertex S (a=2.5210, q=2.8153) of the stability quadrilateral. The combined acceptance at a level of 50% transmission and a resolving power of 100 equals 2.0×10−3 r 0 4 f 2, which is comparable to the acceptance (5.1×10−3 r 0 4 f 2) of the standard operating regime of a QMF in the first stability region under the same computational conditions and optimal on-axis ion velocity. The acceptance is approximately three times higher in the presence of edge fields than in their absence. The optimal on-axis ion energy equals 1.15r 0 f, where r 0 is the radius of the field (the radius of the inscribed circle between the vertices of the electrodes) and f is the working frequency. In the gas-analysis regime a sensitivity of 10−5 A/Pa is achieved on a mass filter with rod length and rod diameter of 15 cm and 8 mm, respectively, frequency f=1 MHz, and field radius r 0=0.35 cm. The electron mass valuem=9.093 × 10–28 g is shown to be obtainable from the QED self-energy formula amended to include gravitational selfenergy and restricted by the space-time equipartition lawm/n 0=4/3. Held together by gravity, the electron has a radiusr e =8Gm/9e 2 c=2.588 × 10–53 cm. An extension of the analysis yields the theoretical muon-electron mass ratio of 206.241 and predicts heavier charged leptons with mass values of 1.915 GeV, 15.67 GeV, and above.  相似文献

We present the results of simultaneous analysis of the S-wave ππ spectra in the reactions π p → (ππ)S n at p lab=38 GeV/c (GAMS) and π p → (ππ)S n at p lab=18 GeV/c (E852 Collaboration) at moderate momenta transferred to the nucleon, |t| ≲ 1.5 (GeV/c)2. The t distributions are described by the Reggeized π and a 1 exchanges provided by the leading and daughter trajectories, while the M ππ spectra are determined by a set of scalar-isoscalar resonances. With M ππ distributions averaged over different t intervals, we have found several solutions given by different t-channel-exchange mechanisms at |t| ∼ (0.5–1.5) (GeV/c)2, with resonance parameters close to each other. We conclude that, despite a poor knowledge of the structure of the t exchange, the characteristics of resonances such as masses and widths can be reliably determined using the processes under discussion. As to pole positions, we have found (1031±10)−i(35±6) MeV for f 0(980) and (1315±20)−i(150±30) MeV for f 0(1300). From Yadernaya Fizika, Vol. 66, No. 5, 2003, pp. 960–972. The recently discovered narrow peaks (theψ-particles) in e+e system at 3.105 and 3.695 GeV are interpreted as hadrons in a broken SU4 symmetry scheme. A new additional additive quantum number, parachargeZ, is combined with the usual SU3 quantum numbers in the group SU4. Theψ (3.1) is assigned to a near ideally mixed151 multiplet of vector mesons (containing theρ) as theI=Y=0, charge conjugationC=−combination ofZ=±1.members. Theψ (3.7) is assigned correspondingly to another mixed151 multiplet containing theρ′ (1600). The hadronic electromagnetic interactions are modified by the addition of (non-minimal) anomalous pieces that can changeZ. The decays of theψ-particles are discussed. New enlarged SU4 multiplets of other hadrons are proposed. Tests of our scheme are put forward. The most crucial test will be the observation of two rather broad resonances in e+ e collisions with masses around 4.2 GeV and 5.1 GeV. Another prediction is the presence of energetic photons in the decays of theψ-particles. Important results concerning the recently observed phenomena in the process e+e→hadrons follow in this scheme.  相似文献

Quantitative structure–property relationships (QSPRs) between the molecular structure of [C60] and [C70] fullerene derivatives and their solubility in chlorobenzene (mg/mL) have been established by means of CORAL (CORrelations And Logic) freeware. The CORAL models are based on representation of the molecular structure by simplified molecular input line entry system (SMILES). Three random splits into the training and the external validation sets have been examined. The ranges of statistical characteristics of these models are as follows: n = 18, r 2 = 0.748–0.815, s = 15.1 –17.5 (mg/mL), F = 47–71 (training set); n = 9, r 2 = 0.806–0.936, s = 12.5–17.5 (mg/mL), F = 29–103 (validation set).  相似文献
