A complement to A. M. Olevskii's fundamental inequality on the logarithmic growth of Lebesgue functions of an arbitrary uniformly bounded orthonormal system on a set of positive measure is made. Namely, the index where the Lebesgue functions have growth slightly weaker than logarithmic can be chosen independently of the variable. The theorem proved in this paper improves a result established earlier by the author.  相似文献

We consider the observability of systems of the form = Ax +Nx, y = Fx, where A is a linear operator and N and F are nonlinear.We show that if the system is linearized about an equilibriumpoint xe and the linearized system is continuously initiallyobservable, then the nonlinear system is continuously initiallyobservable in some neighbourhood of xe. We then look at conditionsunder which solutions of the nonlinear system can be extendedfor all time and consider the problem of stabilizing the systemby feedback controls such that the solutions are eventuallyin the observability neighbourhood of xe. Let $L[\,\cdot\,]Let be a nondivergent linear second-order uniformly elliptic partial differential operator defined on functions with domain Consider the question, "When is a function u a solution of on ?" The naive answer, "u is a solution of on if and for all " is clearly too limited. Indeed, if the coefficients of L are in then L can be rewritten in divergence form for which the notion of a "weak" solution can be applied. In this case there could be infinitely many functions that are "weak" but not classical solutions. More importantly, even if the coefficients of L are just bounded and measurable, the recent results of Krylov permit us to construct "solutions" of on and these "solutions" are generally no better than continuous; the "weak" solutions previously mentioned can be obtained by this construction, too. The preceding discussion provides us with an adequate extrinsic definition of solution (i.e., given a function u we either prove that it is or is not the result of such a construction) that has been used by several authors, but one that is not particularly satisfying or illuminating. Our major contribution in this paper is to show the following. I. There is an intrinsic definition of solution that is equivalent to the extrinsic one. II. Furthermore, the intrinsic definition is just the (now) well-known Crandall-Lions viscosity solution, modified in a natural way to accommodate measurable coefficients.  相似文献

This paper deals with the issues of robust stability for uncertain discrete-time switched systems with mode-dependent time delays.Based on a novel difference inequality and a switched Lyapunov function,new delay-dependent stability criteria are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which are not contained in known literature.A numerical example is given to demonstrate that the proposed criteria improves some existing results significantly with much less computational effort.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to define an extension of the controllability and observability for linear quaternion-valued systems (QVS). Some criteria for controllability and observability are derived, and the minimum norm control and duality theorem are also investigated. Compared with real-valued or complex-valued linear systems, it is shown that the classical Caylay-Hamilton Theorem as well as Popov-Belevitch-Hautus (PBH) type controllability and observability test do not hold for linear QVS. Hence, a modified PBH type necessary condition is studied for the controllability and observability, respectively. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.  相似文献

In [25] Lions proved several partial observability theorems for coupled linear distributed systems with small enough coupling parameters by a perturbation argument. We define observability and reachability and introduce the corresponding Gramians for a Levy driven linear system like Benner, Damm in [3] which focused on the case of Wiener noise. We additionally show that the sets of observable and reachable states are characterized by these Gramians.
