Lepton and flavor violating processes resulting from neutral scalar-lepton mixing are examined in the context of supersymmetric models. Contributions arising at the one-loop level for μ → eγ, μ → 3e, μμ ⇄ ee as well as for neutrinoless ββ-decay are found to be suppressed for a general class of supersymmetry breaking parameters.  相似文献

A widely adopted theoretical scheme to account for the neutrino oscillation phenomena is the see-saw mechanism together with the “lopsided” mass matrices, which is generally realized in the framework of supersymmetric grand unification. We will show that this scheme leads to large lepton flavor violation at low energy if supersymmetry is broken at the GUT or Planck scale. Especially, the branching ratio of already exceeds the present experimental limit. We then propose a phenomenological model which can account for the LMA solution to the solar neutrino problem and at the same time predict a branching ratio of below the present limit. The fundamental constraint on two Higgs doublet models comes from the requirement of sufficiently suppressing flavor-changing neutral currents. There are various standard approaches for dealing with this problem, but they all tend to share a common feature; all of the Higgs doublets couple very weakly to the first generation quarks. Here we consider a simple two Higgs doublet model which is able to have large couplings to the first generation, while also being safe from flavor constraints. We assume only that there is an SUf(3) flavor symmetry which is respected by the couplings of one of the Higgs doublets, and which is broken by Hermitian Yukawa couplings of the second doublet. As a result of the large permitted couplings to the first generation quarks, this scenario may be used to address the excess in W+dijet events recently observed by CDF at the Tevatron. Moreover, Hermitian Yukawa coupling matrices arise naturally in a broad class of solutions to the strong CP problem, providing a compelling context for the model.  相似文献

The lepton number violation(LNV) process can be induced by introducing a fourth generation heavy Majorana neutrino, which is coupled to the charged leptons of the Standard Model(SM). There have been many previous studies on the leptonic number violating decay processes with this mechanism. We follow the trend to study the process: D→Kllπ with the same-sign dilepton final states. We restrict ourselves to certain neutrino mass regions,in which the heavy neutrino could be on-shell and the dominant contribution to the branching fraction comes from the resonance enhanced effect. Applying the narrow width approximation(NWA),we found that the upper limit for the branching fractions for D0→ K-l+l+π-are generally at the order of 10-12 to 10-9,if we take the most stringent upper limit bound currently available in the literature for the mixing matrix elements. We also provide the constraints, which is competitive compared to the LNV B decays,on the mixing matrix element |VeN|2 based on the upper limit of D0→ K-e+e+π-estimated from the Monte-Carlo(MC) study at BESⅢ. Although the constraints are worse than the ones from(0νββ) decay in the literature, the future experiment at the charm factory may yield more stringent constraints.  相似文献

I review some of the recent progress (up to December 2005) in applying non-Abelian discrete symmetries to the family structure of leptons, with particular emphasis on the tribimaximal mixing ansatz of Harrison, Perkins and Scott.  相似文献

Future experiments such as SHiP and high-intensity \(e^+ e^-\) colliders will have a superb sensitivity to heavy Majorana neutrinos with masses below \(M_Z\). We show that the measurement of the mixing to electrons and muons of one such state could establish the existence of CP violating phases in the neutrino mixing matrix, in the context of low-scale seesaw models. We quantify in the minimal model the CP reach of these future experiments, and demonstrate that CP violating phases in the mixing matrix could be established at 5\(\sigma \) CL in a very significant fraction of parameter space.  相似文献

Recent neutrino oscillation data teach us that the neutrinos have masses and that they mix. We discuss two ways that can be used to probe other non-standard leptonic physics. We show that non-standard neutrino interaction can be probed in neutrino oscillation experiments and discuss sneutrino-antisneutrino mixing.  相似文献

In the supersymmetric seesaw model, large flavor mixings of sleptons induce the lepton flavor violating (LFV) interactions ( ), which give rise to various LFV processes. In this work we examine the LFV decays . Subject to the constraints from the existing neutrino oscillation data and the experimental bounds on the decays , these LFV Z-decays are found to be sizable, and among them the largest-rate channel can occur with a branching ratio of 10-8 and may be accessible at the LHC or GigaZ experiment.Received: 1 September 2003, Published online: 20 November 2003  相似文献

We investigate a model in which tiny neutrino masses are generated at the two-loop level by using scalar leptoquark and diquark multiplets. The diquark can be singly produced at the LHC, and it can decay into a pair of leptoquarks through the lepton number violating interaction. Subsequent decays of the two leptoquarks can provide a clear signature of the lepton number violation, namely two QCD jets and a pair of same-signed charged leptons without missing energy. We show that the signal process is not suppressed while neutrino masses are appropriately suppressed.  相似文献

We use the quark-parton model with perturbative QCD corrections in the Weinberg-Salam theory to calculate a parity-violating asymmetry in inclusive lepton pair production. We estimate the asymmetry proportional to the triple correlation P·l+×l? of the lepton momenta l+andl? and the incident hadron momentum P. We find that a nonzero asymmetry requires inclusion of nonperturbative effects.  相似文献

In this Letter we propose a multi-Higgs extension of the standard model with Abelian and non-Abelian discrete symmetries in which the mass matrices of the charged fermions obtained from renormalizable interactions are diagonal. However, non-diagonal contributions, that are important for obtaining the CKM matrix in the quark sector, arise from non-renormalizable dimension five interactions. Active neutrinos acquire mass only from non-renormalizable interactions, the non-diagonal entries arising through dimension five operators, while the diagonal entries comes from dimension six operators. Realistic mixing matrices in the neutrino and the quarks sectors are obtained.  相似文献

We review the sources and phenomenology of non-minimal flavor violation in the MSSM. We discuss in some detail the most important theoretical and experimental constraints, as well as promising observables to look for supersymmetric effects at the LHC and in future experiments. We emphasize the sensitivity of flavor physics to the mechanism of supersymmetry breaking and to new degrees of freedom present at fundamental scales, such as the grand unification scale. We include a discussion of present data that may hint at departures from the standard model.  相似文献
