A novel dibromo compound containing unsymmetrical substituted bi‐triarylamine was synthesized. A conjugated polymer was prepared via the Suzuki coupling from the newly prepared dibromo compound and 9,9‐dioctylfluorene‐2,7‐bis(trimethyleneboronate). The glass transition temperature (Tg) of the conjugated polymer was 140 °C, 10% weight‐loss temperatures (Td10) in nitrogen was 458 °C, and char yield at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 64%. Cyclic voltammogram of the polymer film cast onto an indium‐tin oxide (ITO)‐coated glass substrate exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.70 and 1.10 V versus Ag/Ag+ in acetonitrile solution. The polymer films revealed excellent stability of electrochromic characteristics, with a color change from yellow green of the neutral form to the dark green and blue of oxidized forms at applied potentials ranging from 0 to 1.3 V. The color switching time and bleaching time were 4.25 and 7.22 s for 860 nm and 5.51 s and 6.48 s for 560 nm. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new triphenylamine‐based diamine monomer, 4,4′‐diamino‐2″,4″‐dimethoxytriphenylamine ( 2 ), was synthesized from readily available reagents and was reacted with various aromatic dicarboxylic acids to produce a series of aromatic polyamides ( 4a–h ) containing the redox‐active 2,4‐dimethoxy‐substituted triphenylamine (dimethoxyTPA) unit. All the resulting polyamides were readily soluble in polar organic solvents and could be solution cast into tough and flexible films. These polymers exhibited good thermal stability with glass transition temperatures of 243–289 °C and softening temperatures of 238–280 °C, 10% weight loss temperatures in excess of 470 °C in nitrogen, and char yields higher than 60% at 800 °C in nitrogen. The redox behaviors of the polymers were examined using cyclic voltammetry (CV). All these polyamides showed two reversible oxidation processes in the first CV scan. The polymers also displayed low ionization potentials as a result of their dimethoxyTPA moieties. In addition, the polymers displayed excellent stability of electrochromic characteristics with coloration change from a colorless neutral state to green and blue‐purple oxidized states. These anodically coloring polyamides showed high green coloration efficiency (CE = 329 cm2/C), high contrast of optical transmittance change (ΔT% = 84% at 829 nm), and long‐term redox reversibility. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new carbazole‐derived, triphenylamine (TPA)‐containing aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomer, 4,4′‐dicarboxy‐4″‐(3,6‐di‐tert‐butylcarbazol‐9‐yl)TPA, was synthesized, and it led to a series of electroactive aromatic polyamides with main‐chain TPA and pendent 3,6‐bis(tert‐butyl)carbazole units by reacting it with various aromatic diamines via the phosphorylation polyamidation technique. The polyamides were amorphous with good solubility in many organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into flexible and strong films. They showed high glass‐transition temperatures (282–335 °C) and high thermal stability (10% weight loss temperatures >480 °C). The electroactive polymer films had well‐defined and reversible redox couples with good cycle stability in acetonitrile solutions. The polymer films also exhibited fluorescent and multielectrochromic behaviors. The anodically electrochromic polyamide films had moderate coloration efficiency (~100 cm2/C) and high optical contrast ratio of transmittance change (Δ%T) up to 47% at 813 nm and 48% at 414 nm for the green coloring. After hundreds of cyclic switches, the polymer films still retained good redox and electrochromic activity. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2010  相似文献

A novel electroactive spirocyclododecylfluorene monomer named 2,7‐bis(carbazol‐9‐yl)‐9,9′‐spiro[cyclododecane‐1,9′‐fluorene] (SFC) was synthesized and electrochemically polymerized to give a very stable multi‐electrochromic polymer (poly‐SFC). Two separate oxidation processes were observed for both SFC monomer and poly‐SFC that carries two carbazole units. The polymeric film of poly‐SFC was coated onto ITO/glass surface, and it shows different colors (transparent, yellowish green, green, and dark green) upon stepwise oxidations. An electrochromic device based on poly‐SFC was assembled in the sandwich cell configuration of ITO/poly‐SFC//gel electrolyte//PEDOT/ITO. Poly‐SFC exhibits 90% of transparency at neutral state and a high contrast ratio (ΔT = 58% at 800 nm). This device constructed from it represents a response time of about 1 s, high coloration efficiency (1377 cm2 C–1) and retained its performance by 96.4% even after 1000 cycles. Exhibiting high transparency at neutral state, reversible redox behavior, resistance to overoxidation, and especially high contrast ratio at near IR region can make poly‐SFC be useful and promising candidate for electrochromic applications despite having a relatively slow response time. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new triphenylamine‐based aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomer, 4‐tert‐butyl‐4′,4″‐dicarboxytriphenylamine ( 2 ), was synthesized from the cesium fluoride mediated N,N‐diarylation reaction of 4‐tert‐butylaniline with 4‐fluorobenzonitrile and subsequent alkaline hydrolysis of the dinitrile intermediate. A series of six aromatic polyamides 4a‐4f with tert‐butyltriphenylamine groups was prepared from the newly synthesized dicarboxylic acid and various aromatic diamines. These polyamides were readily soluble in many organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into flexible and strong films. The glass‐transition temperatures of these polymers were in the range of 274–311 °C. These polymers exhibited strong UV‐vis absorption bands at 356–366 nm in NMP solution. Their photoluminescence spectra showed maximum bands around 433–466 nm in the blue region. Cyclic voltammograms of all the polyamides exhibited reversible oxidation redox couples in acetonitrile. The polyamide 4f, with tert‐butyltriphenylamine segment in both diacid and diamine residues, exhibited stable electrochromic characteristics with a color change from a colorless neutral form, through a green semioxidized form, to a deep purple fully oxidized form. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of highly organosoluble polyamides with high modulus having propeller‐shaped triarylamine were synthesized using aromatic diacid chlorides by low‐temperature solution polycondensation. The polyamide films had strong, tough, flexible, and amorphous properties. These polymers revealed electrochromic characteristics both in the visible range and near‐infrared (NIR) region, with a color change from pale yellowish at its neutral state to green and blue at its oxidized state at applied potentials ranging from 0.00 to 1.35 V. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) of the polymer films cast onto an indium tin oxide (ITO)‐coated glass substrate exhibited two reversible redox couples at potentials of 0.80–0.87 V and 1.19–1.25 V, respectively, vs. Ag/Ag+ in acetonitrile solution. From the combination of the experimental and computational study, we proposed an oxidation mechanism based on molecular orbital (MO) theory, which well explains the CV experimental result. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We describe the preparation, characterization, and luminescence of four novel electrochromic aromatic poly(amine hydrazide)s containing main‐chain triphenylamine units with or without a para‐substituted N,N‐diphenylamino group on the pendent phenyl ring. These polymers were prepared from either 4,4′‐dicarboxy‐4″‐N,N‐diphenylaminotriphenylamine or 4,4′‐dicarboxytriphenylamine and the respective aromatic dihydrazide monomers via a direct phosphorylation polycondensation reaction. All the poly(amine hydrazide)s were amorphous and readily soluble in many common organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into transparent and flexible films with good mechanical properties. These poly(amine hydrazide)s exhibited strong ultraviolet–visible absorption bands at 346–348 nm in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) solutions. Their photoluminescence spectra in NMP solutions or as cast films showed maximum bands around 508–544 and 448–487 nm in the green and blue region for the two series of polymers. The hole‐transporting and electrochromic properties were examined by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. All obtained poly(amine hydrazide)s and poly(amine‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.8 and 1.24 V vs. Ag/AgCl in acetonitrile solution and revealed excellent stability of electrochromic characteristics, changing color from original pale yellow to green and then to blue at electrode potentials of 0.87 and 1.24 V, respectively. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel bi‐triphenylamine‐containing aromatic dibromide M3 , N,N‐bis(4‐bromophenyl)‐N′,N′‐dipheny‐l,4‐phenylenediamine, was successfully synthesized. The novel conjugated polymer P1 having number‐average molecular weight of 1.31 × 104 was prepared via Suzuki coupling from the dibromide M3 and 9,9‐dioctylfluorene‐2,7‐diboronic acid bis(1,3‐propanediol) ester. Polymer P1 had excellent thermal stability associated with a high glass‐transition temperature (Tg = 141 °C). The hole‐transporting and UV‐vis‐near‐infrared electrochromic properties were examined by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of the conjugated polymer films cast onto indium‐tin oxide‐coated glass substrates exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at E1/2 values of 0.73 and 1.13 V versus Ag/Ag+ in acetonitrile solution. The hole mobility of the conjugated polymer P1 revealed ~10?3 cm2 V?1 s?1, which is much higher than that of other conjugated polymer systems. The observed UV‐vis‐near‐infrared absorption change in the conjugated polymer film P1 at applied potentials ranging from 0.00 to 1.23 V are fully reversible and associated with strong color changes from pale yellowish in its neutral form to green and blue in its oxidized form. Using a combination of experimental study and theoretical investigation, we proposed an oxidation mechanism based on molecular orbital theory, which explains the cyclic voltammetry experimental results well. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel kind of photosensitive water‐dispersible polyaniline (PANI) nanoparticles was designed and prepared by template synthesis using a photo‐responsive vinyl‐coumarin (VM)/2‐acrylamido‐2‐methyl‐1‐propanesulfonic acid (AMPS) copolymer micelle containing coumarin moieties. The resulting PANI nanoparticles exhibited reversible photo‐crosslinking and photo‐decrosslinking behavior similar to coumarin moiety upon irradiation with different UV light as verified by UV–vis absorption. In addition, photoinduced size change of the PANI nanoparticles after 365 nm UV light irradiation was successfully monitored by dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy measurements, further confirming the photosensitivity of the obtained PANI nanoparticles by the incorporation of VM/AMPS copolymer. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new triphenylamine‐containing aromatic diamine monomer, N,N‐bis(4‐aminophenyl)‐N,N′‐bis(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, was synthesized by an established synthetic procedure from readily available reagents. A novel family of electroactive polyamides with di‐tert‐butyl‐substituted N,N,N,N′‐tetraphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine units were prepared via the phosphorylation polyamidation reactions of the newly synthesized diamine monomer with various aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acids. All the polymers were amorphous with good solubility in many organic solvents, such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NMP) and N,N‐dimethylacetamide, and could be solution‐cast into tough and flexible polymer films. The polyamides derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acids had useful levels of thermal stability, with glass‐transition temperatures of 269–296 °C, 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 544 °C, and char yields at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 62%. The dilute solutions of these polyamides in NMP exhibited strong absorption bands centered at 316–342 nm and photoluminescence maxima around 362–465 nm in the violet‐blue region. The polyamides derived from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids were optically transparent in the visible region and fluoresced with a higher quantum yield compared with those derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acids. The hole‐transporting and electrochromic properties were examined by electrochemical and spectro‐electrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of the polyamide films cast onto an indium‐tin oxide‐coated glass substrate exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.57–0.60 V and 0.95–0.98 V versus Ag/AgCl in acetonitrile solution. The polyamide films revealed excellent elcterochemical and electrochromic stability, with a color change from a colorless or pale yellowish neutral form to green and blue oxidized forms at applied potentials ranging from 0.0 to 1.2 V. These anodically coloring polymeric materials showed interesting electrochromic properties, such as high coloration efficiency (CE = 216 cm2/C for the green coloring) and high contrast ratio of optical transmittance change (ΔT%) up to 64% at 424 nm and 59% at 983 nm for the green coloration, and 90% at 778 nm for the blue coloration. The electroactivity of the polymer remains intact even after cycling 500 times between its neutral and fully oxidized states. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report the preparation and characterization of a series of novel electrochromic, aromatic poly(amine amide)s with pendent triphenylamine units. The synthesis proceeded via direct phosphorylation polycondensation between a novel diamine, N,N‐bis(4‐aminophenyl)‐N′,N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, and various aromatic dicarboxylic acids. All the poly(amine amide)s were amorphous and readily soluble in many common organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into transparent, tough, and flexible films with good mechanical properties. They exhibited good thermal stability and 10% weight‐loss temperatures above 540 °C. Their glass‐transition temperatures were 263–290 °C. These polymers in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone solutions exhibited strong ultraviolet–visible absorption peaks at 307–358 nm and photoluminescence peaks around 532–590 nm in the green region. The hole‐transporting and electrochromic properties were studied with electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of poly(amine amide) films prepared by the casting of polymer solutions onto an indium tin oxide coated glass substrate exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.65 and 1.03 V versus Ag/AgCl in an acetonitrile solution. All the poly(amine amide)s showed excellent stability with respect to their electrochromic characteristics; the color of the films changed from pale yellow to green and then blue at 0.85 and 1.25 V, respectively. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of triphenylamine‐based polymers containing electron‐donating methoxy (? OCH3) and electron‐withdrawing cyano or nitro (? CN or ? NO2) substituents in the main chains have been designed and investigated. These conjugated polymers ( P1 – P3 ) could be readily prepared by oxidative coupling polymerization from monomers ( M1 – M3 ) using FeCl3 as an oxidant. The P2 and P3 exhibited moderate high Tg values (203–205 °C) and thermal stability. These polymers in NMP solution showed UV–vis absorption around 288–404 nm and photoluminescence peaks around 435–492 nm. P1 – P3 showed reversible oxidation redox couples at Eonset = 0.67, 0.99, and 1.00 V in solution of 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP)/acetonitrile (CH3CN), respectively. M3 and P3 exhibited reversible reduction redox couples at Eonset = ?1.04 and ?1.03 V. A new bis(triphenylamine)‐type dicarboxylic acid monomer, N,N‐bis(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐N′,N′‐bis(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, was prepared by a well‐established procedure and led to a new family of redox‐active aromatic polyamides with di‐tert‐butyl‐substituted N,N,N′,N′‐tetraphenylphenylenediamine (TPPA) segments. The resulting polyamides were amorphous with good solubility in many organic solvents, and most of them could be solution cast into flexible polymer films. The polyamides exhibited high thermal stability with glass‐transition temperatures in the range of 247–293 °C and 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 500 °C. They showed well‐defined and reversible redox couples during oxidative scanning, with a strong color change from a colorless or pale yellowish neutral form to green and blue oxidized forms. They had enhanced redox stability and electrochromic performance when compared with the corresponding analogs without tert‐butyl substituents on the TPPA unit. The polyamide with TPPA units in both the diacid and diamine components shows multicolored electrochromic behavior. A polyamide containing both the cathodic coloring anthraquinone chromophore and the anodic coloring TPPA chromophore has the ability to show red, green, and blue states, toward single‐component RGB electrochromics. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of novel aromatic polyarylates with triphenylamine units in the main chain and as the pendent group were prepared from the dicarboxylic acid monomer, N,N‐bis(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐N′, N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine (1), and various bisphenols. These polyarylates were amorphous and readily soluble in common organic solvents. They had excellent levels of thermal stability associated with moderately high Tg values (182–263 °C). These polymers exhibited strong UV–vis absorption bands at 357–360 nm in toluene solution and the photoluminescence spectra showed maximum bands around 493–503 nm in the green region. The hole‐transporting and electrochromic properties were examined by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of the polyarylates exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples in acetonitrile solution at Eonset 0.77–0.79 V and 1.12–1.14 V, respectively. The typical polymer 3b film revealed good stability of electrochromic characteristics, with color change from colorless to green and blue at applied potentials ranging from 0.00 to 1.24 V. These anodically polymeric electrochromic materials not only showed excellent reversible electrochromic stability with good green coloration efficiency (CE = 159 cm2/C) and blue coloration efficiency (CE = 154 cm2/C) but also exhibited high contrast of optical transmittance change (ΔT%), 54% in 895 nm for green color and up to 84% in 595 nm for blue color. A potential‐sensitive separator is prepared simply by incorporating a redox‐active poly(3‐butylthiophene) (P3BT) into the micropores of a commercial porous polyolefin film and tested for overcharge protection of LiFePO4/Li4Ti5O12 lithium‐ion batteries. The experimental results demonstrate that owing to the reversible p‐doping and dedoping of the redox‐active P3BT polymer embedded in the separator with the changes of the cathode potential from an overcharge state to a normal operating state, this type of separator can reversibly switch between electronically insulating state and conductive state to maintain the charge voltage of LiFePO4/Li4Ti5O12 cells at a safety value of ≤2.4 V, and thus protecting the cell from voltage runaway. As this type of the separators works reversibly and has no negative impact on the battery performances, it can be used as an internal and self‐protecting mechanism for commercial lithium‐ion batteries and other rechargeable batteries. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new triphenylamine‐based polyamide I was prepared by direct polycondensation of AB‐type monomer, 4‐amino‐4′‐carboxy‐4″‐methoxytriphenylamine ( 4 ), in the presence of triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensation agents. A facile and template‐free method is reported to synthesize a new thin film structure: polyaniline (PANI) film/nanotubes (F/N) structure. The PANI F/N is a 100‐nm thick PANI film embedded with PANI nanotubes. This well‐controlled method requires no surfactant or organic acid as well as relatively low concentration of reagents. Synthesis condition studies reveal that aniline oligomers with certain structures are responsible for guiding the growth of the nanotubes. Electrical characterization also indicates that the PANI F/N possesses similar field‐effect transistor characteristics to bare PANI film. With its 20% increased surface‐area‐to‐volume (S/V) ratio contributed by surface embedded nanotubes and the excellent p‐type semiconducting characteristic, PANI F/N shows clear superiority compared with bare PANI film. Such advantages guarantee the PANI F/N a promising future toward the development of ultra‐high sensitivity and low‐cost biosensors © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. A reversible color change of a polyaniline‐infiltrated TiO2 inverse opal photonic crystal (PC) film can be obtained when the PC is switched from an acidic to alkali vapor environment. In a saturated NH3 environment, the stopband of the as‐prepared PCs changes from 556 to 688 nm; such large shift of 132 nm could be observed, corresponding to a clear color change from green to red. After placing in HCl vapor, the stopband undergoes a blue‐shift and the color turns back to green. The result is ascribed to PANI being doped or dedoped by acid or base and the effective refractive index of the PC film varying accordingly. The naked‐eye detection of NH3 and HCl vapors can be realized by the reversible color change of the PC film, which is of importance for chemical and biological sensors.  相似文献
