This attempt presents the series solution of second Painlevé equation by homotopy analysis method (HAM). Comparison of HAM solution is provided with that of the Adomian decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM), analytic continuation method, and Legendre Tau method. It is revealed that there is very good agreement between the analytic continuation and HAM solutions when compared with ADM, HPM, and Legendre Tau solutions. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, the homotopy perturbation method (HPM), the variational iteration method (VIM) and the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) are applied to solve the Fitzhugh–Nagumo equation. Numerical solutions obtained by these methods when compared with the exact solutions reveal that the obtained solutions produce high accurate results. The results show that the HPM, the VIM and the ADM are of high accuracy and are efficient for solving the Fitzhugh–Nagumo equation. Also the results demonstrate that the introduced methods are powerful tools for solving the nonlinear partial differential equations. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Many physical and scientific phenomena are modeled by nonlinear partial differential equations (NPDEs); it is difficult to handle nonlinear part of these equations. Recently some analytical methods are applied to solve such equations. In this work, modified Camassa–Holm and Degasperis–Procesi equation is studied. Adomian’s decomposition method (ADM) is applied to obtain solution of this equation. The results are compared to those of homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and exact solution. The study highlights the significant features of the employed method and its ability to handle nonlinear partial differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper, the homotopy analysis method (HAM) is compared with the homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) and the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) to determine the temperature distribution of a straight rectangular fin with power-law temperature dependent surface heat flux. Comparisons of the results obtained by the HAM with that obtained by the ADM and HPM suggest that both the HPM and ADM are special case of the HAM.  相似文献

In this work, we apply the homotopy analysis method to solve fin problems with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. The results are compared with the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and with the Taylor series expansion method as well. The results of the comparisons have shown that the ADM and HPM are just an approximation of the present study and the accuracy of the solution obtained by the present study is much better than the latter algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, the quadratic Riccati differential equation is solved by means of an analytic technique, namely the homotopy analysis method (HAM). Comparisons are made between Adomian’s decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the exact solution and the homotopy analysis method. The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple.  相似文献

In this article, Laplace decomposition method (LDM) is applied to obtain series solutions of classical Blasius equation. The technique is based on the application of Laplace transform to nonlinear Blasius flow equation. The nonlinear term can easily be handled with the help of Adomian polynomials. The results of the present technique have closed agreement with series solutions obtained with the help of Adomian decomposition method (ADM), variational iterative method (VIM) and homotopy perturbation method (HPM).  相似文献

In this paper, we give an analytical-approximate solution for the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation arising in optimal control problems using He’s polynomials based on homotopy perturbation method (HPM). Applying the HPM with He’s polynomials, solution procedure becomes easier, simpler and more straightforward. The comparison of the HPM results with the exact solution, Modal series and measure theoretical method are made. Some illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the simplicity and efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this article, the problem of Burgers equation is presented and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is employed to compute an approximation to the solution of the system of nonlinear differential equations governing on the problem. Comparison is made between the HPM and Exact solutions. The obtained solutions, in comparison with the exact solutions, admit a remarkable accuracy. A clear conclusion can be drawn from the numerical results that the HPM provides highly accurate numerical solutions for nonlinear differential equations. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This article aims to establish a semi-analytical approach based on the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to find the closed form or approximated solutions for the population balance equations such as Smoluchowski"s coagulation, fragmentation, coupled coagulation-fragmentation and bivariate coagulation equations. An accelerated form of the HPM is combined with the Elzaki transformation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the method. One of the significant advantages of the technique lies over the classic numerical methods as it allows solving the linear and non-linear differential equations without discretization. Further, it has benefits over the existing semi-analytical techniques such as Adomian decomposition method (ADM), optimized decomposition method (ODM), and homotopy analysis method (HAM) in the sense that computation of Adomian polynomials and convergence parameters are not required. The novelty of the scheme is shown by comparing the numerical findings with the existing results obtained via ADM, HPM, HAM and ODM for non-linear coagulation equation. This motivates us to extend the scheme for solving the other models mentioned above. The supremacy of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by taking several numerical examples for each problem. The error between exact and series solutions provided in graphs and tables show the accuracy and applicability of the method. In addition to this, convergence of the series solution is also the key attraction of the work.  相似文献

In this article, we have used the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to find the travelling wave solutions for some non-linear initial-value problems in the mathematical physics. These problems consist of the Burgers–Fisher equation, the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation, the coupled Schordinger KdV equations and the long–short wave resonance equations together with initial conditions. The results of these problems reveal that the HPM is very powerful, effective, convenient and quite accurate to the systems of non-linear equations. It is predicted that this method can be found widely applicable in engineering and physics.  相似文献

In this paper, approximate and/or exact analytical solutions of the generalized Emden–Fowler type equations in the second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are obtained by homotopy-perturbation method (HPM). The homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) is a coupling of the perturbation method and the homotopy method. The main feature of the HPM is that it deforms a difficult problem into a set of problems which are easier to solve. In this work, HPM yields solutions in convergent series forms with easily computable terms, and in some cases, only one iteration leads to the high accuracy of the solutions. Comparisons with the exact solutions and the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) show the efficiency of HPM in solving equations with singularity.  相似文献

This paper investigates the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions. Its approximate solution is developed by combining the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method (RKHSM). HPM is based on the use of the traditional perturbation method and the homotopy technique. The HPM can reduce nonlinear problems to some linear problems and generate a rapid convergent series solution in most cases. RKHSM is also an analytical technique, which can solve powerfully linear boundary value problems. Therefore, the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions can be solved using advantages of these two methods. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the strength of the method.  相似文献

In this paper, the homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) is employed to obtain approximate analytical solutions of the Klein–Gordon and sine-Gordon equations. An efficient way of choosing the initial approximation is presented. Comparisons with the exact solutions, the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and the variational iteration method (VIM) show the potential of HPM in solving nonlinear partial differential equations.  相似文献

In this work, a partial differential equation, which has several important applications, is investigated, and some techniques based on semianalytic (or quasi‐numerical) approaches are developed to find its solution. In this article, the homotopy perturbation method (HPM), Adomian decomposition method, and the modified homotopy perturbation method are proposed to solve the Eikonal equation. HPM yields solution in convergent series form with easily computable terms, and in some case, yields exact solutions in one iteration. In other hand, in Adomian decomposition method, the approximate solution is considered as an infinite series usually converges to the accurate solution. Moreover, these methods do not require any discretization, linearization, or small perturbation, and therefore reduce the numerical computation a lot. Several test problems are given and results are compared with the variational iteration method. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2010  相似文献

In this paper, a novel Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is developed for the solution of Burgers' equation. While high level of this method for differential equations are found in the literature, this work covers most of the necessary details required to apply ADM for partial differential equations. The present ADM has the capability to produce three different types of solutions, namely, explicit exact solution, analytic solution, and semi-analytic solution. In the best cases, when a closed-form solution exists, ADM is able to capture this exact solution, while most of the numerical methods can only provide an approximation solution. The proposed ADM is validated using different test cases dealing with inviscid and viscous Burgers' equations. Satisfactory results are obtained for all test cases, and, particularly, results reported in this paper agree well with those reported by other researchers.  相似文献

In this article, a new homotopy perturbation method (NHPM) is introduced to obtain exact solutions of system of ODEs. Theoretical considerations are discussed. Comparison of the results of applying NHPM with those of homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and Adomia's decomposition method (ADM) leads to significant consequences. Three examples, including stiff system of linear and nonlinear ODEs are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the new method. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The available analytical solutions of the coupled Schrödinger–KdV equation obtained by multiple traveling wave method are compared with HPM to examine the accuracy of the method. The numerical results validate the convergence and accuracy of the Homotopy Perturbation Method for the analyzed coupled Schrödinger–KdV equation.  相似文献

In this paper, the quadratic Riccati differential equation is solved by He's variational iteration method with considering Adomian's polynomials. Comparisons were made between Adomian's decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the exact solution. In this application, we do not have secular terms, and if λλ, Lagrange multiplier, is equal -1-1 then the Adomian's decomposition method is obtained. The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple and can be applied for other nonlinear problems.  相似文献
