In this work, the homotopy perturbation method (HPM), the variational iteration method (VIM) and the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) are applied to solve the Fitzhugh–Nagumo equation. Numerical solutions obtained by these methods when compared with the exact solutions reveal that the obtained solutions produce high accurate results. The results show that the HPM, the VIM and the ADM are of high accuracy and are efficient for solving the Fitzhugh–Nagumo equation. Also the results demonstrate that the introduced methods are powerful tools for solving the nonlinear partial differential equations. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper reports a modified homotopy perturbation algorithm, called the domain decomposition homotopy perturbation method (DDHPM), for solving two‐point singular boundary value problems arising in science and engineering. The essence of the approach is to split the domain of the problem into a number of nonoverlapping subdomains. In each subdomain, a method based on a combination of HPM and integral equation formalism is implemented. The boundary condition at the right endpoint of each inner subdomain is established before deriving an iterative scheme for the components of the solution series. The accuracy and efficiency of the DDHPM are demonstrated by 4 examples (2 nonlinear and 2 linear). In comparison with the traditional HPM, the proposed domain decomposition HPM is highly accurate.  相似文献

In this paper, approximate and/or exact analytical solutions of the generalized Emden–Fowler type equations in the second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are obtained by homotopy-perturbation method (HPM). The homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) is a coupling of the perturbation method and the homotopy method. The main feature of the HPM is that it deforms a difficult problem into a set of problems which are easier to solve. In this work, HPM yields solutions in convergent series forms with easily computable terms, and in some cases, only one iteration leads to the high accuracy of the solutions. Comparisons with the exact solutions and the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) show the efficiency of HPM in solving equations with singularity.  相似文献

In this work, homotopy perturbation method (HPM) has been used to solve homogeneous Smoluchowsk's equation. The results will be compared with Adomian decomposition method (ADM). It is shown that the results of the HPM are the same as those obtained by ADM. To illustrate the reliability of the method, some special cases of the equation have been solved as examples. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2010  相似文献

As thermal conductivity plays an important role on fin efficiency, we tried to solve heat transfer equation with thermal conductivity as a function of temperature. In this research, some new analytical methods called homotopy perturbation method, variational iteration method, and Adomian decomposition method are introduced to be applied to solve the nonlinear heat transfer equations, and also the comparison of the applied methods (together) is shown graphically. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, a numerical method for fourth-order time-fractional partial differential equations with variable coefficients is proposed. Our method consists of Laplace transform, the homotopy perturbation method and Stehfest's numerical inversion algorithm. We show the validity and efficiency of the proposed method (so called LHPM) by applying it to some examples and comparing the results obtained by this method with the ones found by Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and He's variational iteration method (HVIM).  相似文献

This paper investigates the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions. Its approximate solution is developed by combining the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method (RKHSM). HPM is based on the use of the traditional perturbation method and the homotopy technique. The HPM can reduce nonlinear problems to some linear problems and generate a rapid convergent series solution in most cases. RKHSM is also an analytical technique, which can solve powerfully linear boundary value problems. Therefore, the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions can be solved using advantages of these two methods. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the strength of the method.  相似文献

In the paper, we implement relatively new analytical techniques, the variational iteration method, the Adomian decomposition method and the homotopy perturbation method, for obtaining a rational approximation solution of the fractional Sharma–Tasso–Olever equation. The three methods in applied mathematics can be used as alternative methods for obtaining an analytic and approximate solution for different types of differential equations. In these schemes, the solution takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. The numerical results demonstrate the significant features, efficiency and reliability of the three approaches.  相似文献

This article aims to establish a semi-analytical approach based on the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to find the closed form or approximated solutions for the population balance equations such as Smoluchowski"s coagulation, fragmentation, coupled coagulation-fragmentation and bivariate coagulation equations. An accelerated form of the HPM is combined with the Elzaki transformation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the method. One of the significant advantages of the technique lies over the classic numerical methods as it allows solving the linear and non-linear differential equations without discretization. Further, it has benefits over the existing semi-analytical techniques such as Adomian decomposition method (ADM), optimized decomposition method (ODM), and homotopy analysis method (HAM) in the sense that computation of Adomian polynomials and convergence parameters are not required. The novelty of the scheme is shown by comparing the numerical findings with the existing results obtained via ADM, HPM, HAM and ODM for non-linear coagulation equation. This motivates us to extend the scheme for solving the other models mentioned above. The supremacy of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by taking several numerical examples for each problem. The error between exact and series solutions provided in graphs and tables show the accuracy and applicability of the method. In addition to this, convergence of the series solution is also the key attraction of the work.  相似文献

In this paper, the quadratic Riccati differential equation is solved by means of an analytic technique, namely the homotopy analysis method (HAM). Comparisons are made between Adomian’s decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the exact solution and the homotopy analysis method. The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple.  相似文献

This attempt presents the series solution of second Painlevé equation by homotopy analysis method (HAM). Comparison of HAM solution is provided with that of the Adomian decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM), analytic continuation method, and Legendre Tau method. It is revealed that there is very good agreement between the analytic continuation and HAM solutions when compared with ADM, HPM, and Legendre Tau solutions. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this article, Laplace decomposition method (LDM) is applied to obtain series solutions of classical Blasius equation. The technique is based on the application of Laplace transform to nonlinear Blasius flow equation. The nonlinear term can easily be handled with the help of Adomian polynomials. The results of the present technique have closed agreement with series solutions obtained with the help of Adomian decomposition method (ADM), variational iterative method (VIM) and homotopy perturbation method (HPM).  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the numerical comparison of methods applied to solve the generalized Ito system. Four numerical methods are compared, namely, the Laplace decomposition method (LDM), the variation iteration method (VIM), the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the Laplace decomposition method with the Pade approximant (LD–PA) with the exact solution.  相似文献

In this work, we apply the homotopy analysis method to solve fin problems with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. The results are compared with the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and with the Taylor series expansion method as well. The results of the comparisons have shown that the ADM and HPM are just an approximation of the present study and the accuracy of the solution obtained by the present study is much better than the latter algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the application of the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to two-point boundary-value problems with fractional-order derivatives of Caputo-type. We show that HPM is equivalent to the semi-analytical Adomian decomposition method when applied to a class of nonlinear fractional advection-diffusion-reaction models. A general expression is derived for the coefficients in the HPM series solution. Numerical experiments are given to demonstrate several properties of HPM, such as its dependence on the fractional order and the parameters in the model. In the case of more than one solution, HPM has difficulties to find the second solution in the model. Another example is given for which HPM seems to converge to a non-existing solution.  相似文献

A homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is proposed to solve non-linear systems of second-order boundary value problems. HPM yields solutions in convergent series forms with easily computable terms, and in some cases, yields exact solutions in one iteration. Moreover, this technique does not require any discretization, linearization or small perturbations and therefore reduces the numerical computations a lot. Some numerical results are also given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the presented technique. The results reveal that the method is very effective, straightforward and simple.  相似文献

In this article, we apply the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to obtain approximate analytical solutions of the generalized Burger and Burger‐Fisher (B–F) equations. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the efficiency of the HPM. Comparison of the result obtained by the present method with exact solution reveals that the accuracy and fast convergence of the new method. It is predicted that the HPM can be found wide application in engineering problems. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2009  相似文献

The main aim of the present work is to propose a new and simple algorithm for space-fractional telegraph equation, namely new fractional homotopy analysis transform method (HATM). The fractional homotopy analysis transform method is an innovative adjustment in Laplace transform algorithm (LTA) and makes the calculation much simpler. The proposed technique solves the nonlinear problems without using Adomian polynomials and He’s polynomials which can be considered as a clear advantage of this new algorithm over decomposition and the homotopy perturbation transform method (HPTM). The beauty of the paper is error analysis which shows that our solution obtained by proposed method converges very rapidly to the known exact solution. The numerical solutions obtained by proposed method indicate that the approach is easy to implement and computationally very attractive. Finally, several numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and stability of this method.  相似文献
