Stable t-structures and Homotopy Category of Strongly Copure Projective Modules

In this paper, we study the homotopy category of unbounded complexes of strongly copure projective modules with bounded relative homologies K~(∞,bscp)(SCP).We show that the existence of a right recollement of K~(∞,bscp)(SCP) with respect to K~(-,bscp)(SCP), K_(scpac)(SCP) and K~(∞,bscp)(SCP) has the homotopy category of strongly copure projective acyclic complexes as a triangulated subcategory in some case.

An Elementary Approach to the Projective Dimension in Proper Homotopy Theory

Abstract

This paper presents some basic properties of the category of trees of abelian groups. In particular an elementary proof of the existence of kernels in the category of “finitely generated” trees is included. Also a characterization of projective dimension in the class of “pro-finitely generated” trees is given in terms of the inverse limit functor.     

New Families in the Stable Homotopy of Spheres Revisited

This paper constructs a new family in the stable homotopy of spheres π _{t −6} S represented by h _n g ₀γ₃∈E ^{6 t} ₂ in the Adams spectral sequence which revisits the b _{n −1} g ₀γ₃-elements ∈π _{t −7} S constructed in [3], where t = 2p ⁿ (p− 1) + 6(p ² + p + 1)(p− 1) and p≥ 7 is a prime, n≥ 4. Topological Structures in Colombeau Algebras: Topological $\widetilde{\mathbb{C}}$ -modules and Duality Theory

We study modules over the ring of complex generalized numbers from a topological point of view, introducing the notions of -linear topology and locally convex -linear topology. In this context particular attention is given to completeness, continuity of -linear maps and elements of duality theory for topological -modules. Two New Families in the Stable Homotopy Groups of Sphere and Moore Spectrum

This paper proves the existence of an order p element in the stable homotopy group of sphere spectrum of degree pnq pmq q - 4 and a nontrivial element in the stable homotopy group of Moore spectum of degree pnq pmq q - 3 which are represented by h0(hmbn-1-hnbm-1) and i*(h0hnhm) in the E2-terms of the Adams spectral sequence respectively, where p≥7 is a prime, n≥m 2≥4, q = 2(p - 1).     

A Relation in the Stable Homotopy Groups of Spheres

Let p≥7 be an odd prime. Based on the Toda bracket α1βp-11, α1 β1, p, γs,the authors show that the relation α1βp-11h2,0 γs= βp/p-1γs holds. As a result, they can obtain α1βp1h2,0 γs = 0 ∈π*(S0) for 2≤s≤p- 2, even though α1h2,0γs and β1α1h2,0 γs are not trivial. They also prove that βp-11α1 h2,0 γ3 is nontrivial in π*(S0) and conjecture that βp-11α1 h2,0 γs is nontrivial in π*(S0) for 3≤s≤p- 2. Moreover, it is known thatβp/p-1γ3 = 0 ∈ Ext5,*BP*BP(BP*, BP*), but βp/p-1γ3 is nontrivial in π*(S0) and represents the element βp-11α1 h2,0 γ3.     

Four Families of Nontrivial Product Elements in the Stable Homotopy Groups of Spheres

In this paper, the authors introduce a new effective method to compute the generators of the E1-term of the May spectral sequence. This helps them to obtain four families of non-trivial product elements in the stable homotopy groups of spheres.

Detection of Some Elements in the Stable Homotopy Groups of Spheres

Let A be the mod p Steenrod algebra and S be the sphere spectrum localized at an odd prime p. To determine the stable homotopy groups of spheres π＊S is one of the central problems in homotopy theory. This paper constructs a new nontrivial family of homotopy elements in the stable homotopy groups of spheres πp^nq＋2pq＋q-3S which isof order p and is represented by kohn ∈ ExtA^3,P^nq＋2pq＋q（Zp,Zp） in the Adams spectral sequence, wherep 〉 5 is an odd prime, n ≥3 and q = 2（p-1）. In the course of the proof, a new family of homotopy elements in πp^nq＋（p＋1）q-1V（1） which is represented by β＊i＇＊i＊（hn） ∈ ExtA^2,pnq＋（p＋1）q＋1 （H^＊V（1）, Zp） in the Adams sequence is detected.     

An Intrinsic Homotopy Theory for Simplicial Complexes, with Applications to Image Analysis

A simplicial complex is a set equipped with a down-closed family of distinguished finite subsets. This structure, usually viewed as codifying a triangulated space, is used here directly, to describe spaces whose geometric realisation can be misleading. An intrinsic homotopy theory, not based on such realisation but agreeing with it, is introduced.The applications developed here are aimed at image analysis in metric spaces and have connections with digital topology and mathematical morphology. A metric space X has a structure t X of simplicial complex at each resolution >0; the resulting homotopy group _n (X) detects those singularities which can be captured by an n-dimensional grid, with edges bound by this works equally well for continuous or discrete regions of Euclidean spaces. Its computation is based on direct, intrinsic methods.

In this paper, some groups Ext A^s.t （Zp, Zp） with specialized s and t are first computed by the May spectrM sequence. Then we make use of the Adams spectral sequence to prove the existence of a new nontrivial family of filtration s＋5 in the stable homotopy groups of spheres πpnq＋（s＋3）pq＋（s＋1）q-5S which is represented （up to a nonzero scalar） by β＋2bohh∈ExtA^s＋5,P^nq＋（n＋3）pq＋（n＋1）q＋s（Zp, Zp） in the Adams spectral sequence, where p ≥ 5 is a prime number, n ≥3, 0≤ s 〈 p - 3, q = 2（p - 1）.

Augmented Lagrangian Theory,Duality and Decomposition Methods for Variational Inequality Problems

In this paper, we develop the augmented Lagrangian theory and duality theory for variational inequality problems. We propose also decomposition methods based on the augmented Lagrangian for solving complex variational inequality problems with coupling constraints.     

Relative Projectivity of Modules and Cohomology Theory of Finite Groups

In the modular representation theory of finite groups the theory of projectivity relative to subgroups is of fundamental importance. To generalize this notion the theory of projectivity relative to modules was introduced by the first author. Our aim is to show some aspects of cohomology theory of finite groups concerning projectivity of modules relative to both subgroups and modules. We shall give some applications to the cohomology theory; especially we shall calculate the mod 2 cohomology algebras of finite groups with wreathed Sylow 2-subgroups.     

Generators and Dimensions of Derived Categories of Modules

Several years ago, Bondal, Rouquier, and Van den Bergh introduced the notion of the dimension of a triangulated category, and Rouquier proved that the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on a separated scheme of finite type over a perfect field has finite dimension. In this article, we study the dimension of the bounded derived category of finitely generated modules over a commutative Noetherian ring. The main result of this article asserts that it is finite over a complete local ring containing a field with perfect residue field. Our methods also give a ring-theoretic proof of the affine case of Rouquier's theorem.     

Incidence Category of the Young Lattice,Injections Between Finite Sets,and Koszulity

We study the quadratic quotients of the incidence category of the Young lattice defined by the zero relations corresponding to adding two boxes to the same row,or to the same column,or both.We show that the last quotient corresponds to the Koszul dual of the original incidence category,while the first two quotients are,in a natural way,Koszul duals of each other and hence they are in particular Koszul self-dual.Both of these two quotients are known to be basic representatives in the Morita equivalence class of the category of injections between finite sets.We also present a new,rather direct,argument establishing this Morita equivalence.
