ABSTRACT

Let K denote a commutative ring with unity and A be a K-algebra. An element, d ∈ A is said to be left self distributive, or LSD, if dxy = dx dy for all x, y ∈ A. Let ?(A) be the set of LSD elements. Similarly, one can define the set of right self distributive, or RSD, elements and let ?(A) be the set of RSD elements. Let 𝒟(A) = ?(A) ∩ ?(A), the set of self distributive, or SD, elements. An algebra, A, is said to be left self distributively generated, or LSD-generated, if A =  mod K (?(A)), the K-module generated by ?(A). Analogously, one defines RSD-generated and SD-generated algebras. If A =  mod K (?(A)) =  mod K (?(A)), then A is said to be LSD/RSD-generated, which is a strictly larger class than the class of SD-generated algebras. Examples are given to illustrate the variety of LSD-generated algebras.

This paper continues the study of LSD-generated, RSD-generated, LSD/RSD-generated and SD-generated algebras. This paper characterizes exactly which structural matrix rings are LSD-generated. The paper begins with an important lemma that characterizes LSD elements in a matrix ring in terms of the entries of the matrix. The main result characterizes those structural matrix rings that are LSD-generated, first in terms of a 2 × 2 generalized matrix ring, then strictly in terms of the shape of the matrix ring. Sharper results are obtained for LSD/RSD-generated and SD-generated structural matrix rings. The final section is devoted to an application of this result to endomorphism rings. If the endomorphism ring of a finitely generated module is a homomorphic image of a structural matrix ring, then the module is a direct sum of cyclic modules. Further conditions are given to describe when the structural matrix ring is LSD-generated, in terms of the annihilators of the generating set.  相似文献

Let F = ?x, y? be a free group. It is known that the commutator [x, y ?1] cannot be expressed in terms of basic commutators, in particular in terms of Engel commutators. We show that the laws imposing such an expression define specific varietal properties. For a property 𝒫 we consider a subset U(𝒫) ? F such that every law of the form [x, y ?1] ≡ u, u ∈ U(𝒫) provides the varietal property 𝒫. For example, we show that each subnormal subgroup is normal in every group of a variety 𝔙 if and only if 𝔙 satisfies a law of the form [x, y ?1] ≡ u, where u ∈ [F′, ?x?].  相似文献

Let λ K v be the complete multigraph, G a finite simple graph. A G-design of λ K v is denoted by GD(v,G,λ). The crown graph Q n is obtained by joining single pendant edge to each vertex of an n-cycle. We give new constructions for Q n -designs. Let v and λ be two positive integers. For n=4, 6, 8 and λ≥1, there exists a GD(v,Q n ,λ) if and only if either (1) v>2n and λ v(v?1)≡0 (mod 4n), or (2) v=2n and λ≡0 (mod 4). Let n≥4 be even. Then (1) there exists a GD(2n,Q n ,λ) if and only if λ≡0 (mod 4). (2) There exists a GD(2n+1,Q n ,λ) when λ≡0 (mod 4).  相似文献

Abstract

Let R = K[y 1,…,y t ] be an affine domain over a field K and I be a nonzero proper ideal of R. In Sec. 1 of this note, we characterize when (K + I, R) is a Mori pair. In Sec. 2 of this note, we prove the following theorem: Let A ? B be domains such that C/Q is Mori for each subring C of B containing A and for any prime ideal Q of C. Then dim A ? 1 ≤ dim B ≤ dim A + 1 and if dim A > 1 or dim B > 1 then dim A = dim B.  相似文献

Let D be an integral domain. We investigate when (∩ Aα) ?1 = ∑ Aα ?1 or (∩ Aα) ?1 =(∑ Aα ?1)v (equivalently, (∩ A α) v  = ∩(A α) v ) for certain families {A α} of nonzero fractional ideals of D.  相似文献

Let G be a nonabelian group and associate a noncommuting graph ?(G) with G as follows: The vertex set of ?(G) is G\Z(G) with two vertices x and y joined by an edge whenever the commutator of x and y is not the identity. In 1987, Professor J. G. Thompson gave the following conjecture.

Thompson's Conjecture. If G is a finite group with Z(G) = 1 and M is a nonabelian simple group satisfying N(G) = N(M), then G ? M, where N(G):={n ∈ ? | G has a conjugacy class of size n}.

In 2006, A. Abdollahi, S. Akbari, and H. R. Maimani put forward a conjecture (AAM's conjecture) in Abdollahi et al. (2006) as follows.

AAM's Conjecture. Let M be a finite nonabelian simple group and G a group such that ?(G) ? ? (M). Then G ? M.

In this short article we prove that if G is a finite group with ?(G) ? ? (A 10), then G ? A 10, where A 10 is the alternating group of degree 10.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative noetherian ring and A a noetherian R-algebra. Let P ? ∈ 𝒦b(𝒫 A ) with Hom𝒦(Mod-A)(P ?, P ?[i]) = 0 for i > 0. We will provide a sufficient condition for P ? to be a direct summand of a silting complex. Also, in case Hom𝒦(Mod-A)(P ?, P ?[i]) = 0 for i ≠ 0, we will provide a sufficient condition for P ? to be a direct summand of a tilting complex.  相似文献

We show that if A is a representation-finite selfinjective Artin algebra, then every P ? ? K b(𝒫 A ) with Hom K(Mod?A)(P ?,P ?[i]) = 0 for i ≠ 0 and add(P ?) = add(νP ?) is a direct summand of a tilting complex, and that if A, B are derived equivalent representation-finite selfinjective Artin algebras, then there exists a sequence of selfinjective Artin algebras A = B 0, B 1,…, B m  = B such that, for any 0 ≤ i < m, B i+1 is the endomorphism algebra of a tilting complex for B i of length ≤ 1.  相似文献

Abstract

Let A be a commutative ring with identity, let X, Y be indeterminates and let F(X,Y), G(X, Y) ∈ A[X, Y] be homogeneous. Then the pair F(X, Y), G(X, Y) is said to be radical preserving with respect to A if Rad((F(x, y), G(x, y))R) = Rad((x,y)R) for each A-algebra R and each pair of elements x, y in R. It is shown that infinite sequences of pairwise radical preserving polynomials can be obtained by homogenizing cyclotomic polynomials, and that under suitable conditions on a ?-graded ring A these can be used to produce an infinite set of homogeneous prime ideals between two given homogeneous prime ideals P ? Q of A such that ht(Q/P) = 2.  相似文献

Let R be a PID. We construct and classify all coordinates of R[x, y] of the form p 2 y + Q 2(p 1 x + Q 1(y)) with p 1, p 2 ∈ qt(R) and Q 1, Q 2 ∈ qt(R)[y]. From this construction (with R = K[z]) we obtain nontame automorphisms σ of K[x, y, z] (where K is a field of characteristic 0) such that the subgroup generated by σ and the affine automorphisms contains all tame automorphisms.  相似文献

Let frA denote the category of f-rings which are reduced and Archimedean, and let Φ be the (nonfull) subcategory of such rings with identity (each with the natural morphisms). Some time ago, the second author showed, using his representation theory, that for each A ∈ | frA| there is a certain minimal embedding u A :AuA ∈ | Φ|. More recently, he has revisited the representation theory, expanding it to include the representation of morphisms. Based upon this, the present article analyzes the operator u:| frA| → Φ: the construction of uA is tidied, several characterizations of the pair (u A , uA) are given, and the relation between the maximal ideal structures of A and uA is described. Membership in the class U of frA-morphisms that are “u-extendable” is characterized and it is shown that U = (| frA|,U) is a category in which Φ is a full essentially-reflective subcategory. The frA-objects are characterized for which, respectively, ? B(frA(A, B) = U (A, B)), and, ? B ≠ 0(frA(B, A) = U(B, A)).  相似文献

Let K be a nonempty closed and convex subset of a real Banach space E. Let T: K → E be a continuous pseudocontractive mapping and f:K → E a contraction, both satisfying weakly inward condition. Then for t ? (0, 1), there exists a sequence {y t } ? K satisfying the following condition: y t  = (1 ? t)f(y t ) + tT(y t ). Suppose further that {y t } is bounded or F(T) ≠  and E is a reflexive Banach space having weakly continuous duality mapping J ? for some gauge ?. Then it is proved that {y t } converges strongly to a fixed point of T, which is also a solution of certain variational inequality. Moreover, an explicit iteration process that converges strongly to a common fixed point of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings and hence to a solution of a certain variational inequality is constructed.  相似文献

Let K be a nonempty closed and convex subset of a real reflexive Banach space X that has weakly sequentially continuous duality mapping J. Let T: K → K be a multivalued non-expansive non-self-mapping satisfying the weakly inwardness condition as well as the condition T(y) = {y} for any y ∈ F(T) and such that for a contraction f: K → K and any t ∈ (0, 1), there exists x t  ∈ K satisfying x t  ∈ tf(x t ) + (1 ? t)Tx t . Then it is proved that {x t } ? K converges strongly to a fixed point of T, which is also a solution of certain variational inequality. Moreover, the convergence of two explicit methods are also investigated.  相似文献

Let n≥1 be a fixed integer, R a prime ring with its right Martindale quotient ring Q, C the extended centroid, and L a non-central Lie ideal of R. If F is a generalized skew derivation of R such that (F(x)F(y)?yx)n = 0 for all x,yL, then char(R) = 2 and R?M2(C), the ring of 2×2 matrices over C.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let X = Spec(R) be a reduced equidimensional algebraic variety over an algebraically closed field k. Let Y = Spec(R/𝔮) be a codimension one ordinary multiple subvariety, where 𝔮 is a prime ideal of height 1 of R. If U is a nonempty open subset of Y and 𝔪 a closed point of U, we denote by A ? R 𝔪 its local ring in X, by 𝔭 the extension of 𝔮 in A, and by K the algebraic closure of the residue field k(𝔭).

Then there exists a bijection γ𝔪:Proj(G 𝔭(A) ?  A/𝔭 k) → Proj(G(A 𝔭) ?  k(𝔭)K) such that for every subset Σ of Proj(G 𝔭(A) ?  A/𝔭 k), the Hilbert function of Σ coincides with the Hilbert function of γ𝔪(Σ). We examine some applications. We study the structure of the tangent cone at a closed point of a codimension one ordinary multiple subvariety.  相似文献

Let L be a finite-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra, L ? be the ?-span of a Chevalley basis of L, and L R  = R ?? L ? be a Chevalley algebra of type L over a commutative ring R. Let 𝒩(R) be the nilpotent subalgebra of L R spanned by the root vectors associated with positive roots. A map ? of 𝒩(R) is called commuting if [?(x), x] = 0 for all x ∈ 𝒩(R). In this article, we prove that under some conditions for R, if Φ is not of type A 2, then a derivation (resp., an automorphism) of 𝒩(R) is commuting if and only if it is a central derivation (resp., automorphism), and if Φ is of type A 2, then a derivation (resp., an automorphism) of 𝒩(R) is commuting if and only if it is a sum (resp., a product) of a graded diagonal derivation (resp., automorphism) and a central derivation (resp., automorphism).  相似文献

For a quiver Q, a k-algebra A, and an additive full subcategory 𝒳 of A-mod, the monomorphism category Mon(Q, 𝒳) is introduced. The main result says that if T is an A-module such that there is an exact sequence 0 → T m  → … → T 0 → D(A A ) → 0 with each T i  ∈ add(T), then Mon(Q, T) =(kQ ? k T); and if T is cotilting, then kQ ? k T is a unique cotilting Λ-module, up to multiplicities of indecomposable direct summands, such that Mon(Q, T) =(kQ ? k T).

As applications, the category of the Gorenstein-projective (kQ ? k A)-modules is characterized as Mon(Q, 𝒢𝒫(A)) if A is Gorenstein; the contravariantly finiteness of Mon(Q, 𝒳) can be described; and a sufficient and necessary condition for Mon(Q, A) being of finite type is given.  相似文献

If R is an integral domain, let be the class of torsion free completely decomposable R-modules of finite rank. Denote by the class of those torsion-free R-modules A such that A is a homomorphic image of some C ? , and let 𝒫 be the class of R-modules K such that K is a pure submodule of some C ? . Further, let Q and Q 𝒫 be the respective closures of and 𝒫 under quasi-isomorphism. In this article, it is shown that if R is a Prüfer domain, then Q  = Q 𝒫, and  = 𝒫 in the special case when R is h-local. Also, if R is an h-local Prüfer domain and if C ?  has a linearly ordered typeset, it is established that all pure submodules and all torsion-free homomorphic images of C are themselves completely decomposable. Finally, as an application of these results, we prove that if R is an h-local Prüfer domain, then  = Q  = Q 𝒫 = 𝒫 if and only if R is almost maximal.  相似文献
