We first study the quasi-Baerness of R[x; σ, δ] over a quasi-Baer ring R when σ is an automorphism of R, obtaining an affirmative result. We next show that if R is a right principally quasi-Baer ring and σ is an automorphism of R with σ(e) = e for any left semicentral idempotent e ∈ R, then R[x; σ, δ] is right principally quasi-Baer. As a corollary, we have that R[x; δ] over a right principally quasi-Baer ring R is right principally quasi-Baer. Finally, we give conditions under which the quasi-Baernesses (right principal quasi-Baernesses) of R and R[x; σ, δ] are equivalent.  相似文献

We show that, if a groupoid graded ring has a grading satisfying a certain nondegeneracy property, then the commutant of the center of the principal component of the ring has the ideal intersection property, that is it intersects nontrivially every nonzero ideal of the ring. Furthermore, we show that for skew groupoid algebras with commutative principal component, the principal component is maximal commutative if and only if it has the ideal intersection property.  相似文献

In order to give an elementwise characterization of a subintegral extension of ℚ-algebras, a family of generic ℚ-algebras was introduced in [3]. This family is parametrized by two integral parameters p ⩾ 0,N ⩾ 1, the member corresponding top, N being the subalgebraR = ℚ [{γn|n ⩾ N}] of the polynomial algebra ℚ[x1,…,x p, z] inp + 1 variables, where . This is graded by weight (z) = 1, weight (x i) =i, and it is shown in [2] to be finitely generated. So these algebras provide examples of geometric objects. In this paper we study the structure of these algebras. It is shown first that the ideal of relations among all the γn’s is generated by quadratic relations. This is used to determine an explicit monomial basis for each homogeneous component ofR, thereby obtaining an expression for the Poincaré series ofR. It is then proved thatR has Krull dimension p+1 and embedding dimensionN + 2p, and that in a presentation ofR as a graded quotient of the polynomial algebra inN + 2p variables the ideal of relations is generated minimally by elements. Such a minimal presentation is found explicitly. As corollaries, it is shown thatR is always Cohen-Macaulay and that it is Gorenstein if and only if it is a complete intersection if and only ifN + p ⩽ 2. It is also shown thatR is Hilbertian in the sense that for everyn ⩾ 0 the value of its Hilbert function atn coincides with the value of the Hilbert polynomial corresponding to the congruence class ofn.  相似文献

For a ring R, endomorphism α of R and positive integer n we define a skew triangular matrix ring T n (R, α). Abstract

If R ? T is an extension of (commutative integral) domains, Λ(T/R) is defined as the supremum of the lengths of chains of intermediate fields in the extension k R (Q ∩ R) ? k T (Q), where Q runs over the prime ideals of T. The invariant Λ(T/R) is determined in case R and T are adjacent rings and in case Spec(R) = Spec(T) as sets. It is proved that if R is a domain with integral closure R′, then Λ(T/R) = 0 for all overrings T of R if and only if R′ is a Prüfer domain such that Λ(R′/R) = 0. If R ? T are domains such that the canonical map Spec(T) → Spec(R) is a homeomorphism (in the Zariski topology), then Λ(T/R) is bounded above by the supremum of the lengths of chains of rings intermediate between R and T. Examples are given to illustrate the sharpness of the results.  相似文献

We introduce a notion of left nonsingularity for alternative rings and prove that an alternative ring is left nonsingular if and only if every essential left ideal is dense, if and only if its maximal left quotient ring is von Neumann regular (a Johnson-like Theorem). Finally, we obtain a Gabriel-like Theorem for alternative rings.  相似文献

By testing quotient rings, we give another viewpoint concerning the relationship between PI and Goldie properties, etc., and f-radical extensions of rings. The main result proved here is as follows: Let R be a prime algebra without nonzero nil right ideals. Suppose that R is f-radical over a subalgebra A, where f(X 1,…, X t ) is a multilinear polynomial, not an identity for p × p matrices in case char R = p > 0. Suppose that f is not power-central valued in R. Then the maximal ring of right (left) quotients of A coincides with that of R. Moreover, R is right Goldie if and only if A is.  相似文献

Marks showed that F2Q8, the F2 group algebra over the quaternion group, is a reversible nonsymmetric ring, then questioned whether or not this ring is minimal with respect to cardinality. In this work, it is shown that the cardinality of a minimal reversible nonsymmetric ring is indeed 256. Furthermore, it is shown that although F2Q8 is a duo ring, there are also examples of minimal reversible nonsymmetric rings which are nonduo.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A (unital) extension R ? T of (commutative) rings is said to have FIP (respectively be a minimal extension) if there are only finitely many (respectively no) rings S such that R ? S ? T. Transfer results for the FIP property for extensions of Nagata rings are obtained, including the following fact: if R ? T is a (module-) finite minimal ring extension, then R(X)?T(X) also is a (module-) finite minimal ring extension. The assertion obtained by replacing “is a (module-) finite minimal ring extension” with “has FIP” is valid if R is an infinite field but invalid if R is a finite field. A generalization of the Primitive Element Theorem is obtained by characterizing, for any field (more generally, any artinian reduced ring) R, the ring extensions R ? T which have FIP; and, if R is any field K, by describing all possible structures of the (necessarily minimal) ring extensions appearing in any maximal chain of intermediate rings between K and any such T. Transfer of the FIP and “minimal extension” properties is given for certain pullbacks, with applications to constructions such as CPI-extensions. Various sufficient conditions are given for a ring extension of the form R ? R[u], with u a nilpotent element, to have or not have FIP. One such result states that if R is a residually finite integral domain that is not a field and u is a nilpotent element belonging to some ring extension of R, then R ? R[u] has FIP if and only if (0 : u) ≠ 0. The rings R having only finitely many unital subrings are studied, with complete characterizations being obtained in the following cases: char(R)>0; R an integral domain of characteristic 0; and R a (module-)finite extension of ? which is not an integral domain. In particular, a ring of the last-mentioned type has only finitely many unital subrings if and only if (?:R)≠0. Some results are also given for the residually FIP property.  相似文献

In this article we consider simple birational extensions of power series rings in one variable over one-dimensional Noetherian domains having infinitely many maximal ideals. For these rings we describe the partially ordered sets that arise as prime spectra. We characterize the prime spectra in the case that the coefficient rings are countable Dedekind domains. The prime spectra over Dedekind domains are the same as the prime spectra that arise for simple birational extensions of power series rings over the integers and the same as the prime spectra of simple birational extensions of k[[x]][z], where k is a countable field and x and z are indeterminates.  相似文献
