Locally Invariant and Semi-Invariant Right Cones

A right cone of a group G is a submonoid H of G so that for a, b ∈ H either aH ? bH or bH ? aH and G = {ab ^?1 | a, b ∈ H}. Valuation rings, right chain rings, the cones of right ordered groups provide examples. It is proved, see Theorem 17, that a semi-invariant right cone H with d.c.c. for prime ideals satisfies Ha ? aH for all a ∈ H, that is H is right invariant. Essential is the following Theorem 9: Let H be a locally invariant right cone in G with d.c.c. for prime ideals, and let I ≠ H be an ideal in H. Then P _l (I) ? P _r (I) for the associated left and right prime ideals of I.     

Primes of Gauss Extensions Over Crossed Product Algebras

Let K be a skew field with total subring V and G be a right ordered group with cone P, so that the crossed product algebra K*G has a skew field D of fractions. We consider total subrings R of D with R ∩ K = V, describe the overrings in D, as well as subrings of R. For particular extensions R of V we determine the prime ideals of R in terms of prime ideals of V and prime ideals of overcones of P in G.     

Power-Centralizing Automorphisms of Lie Ideals in Prime Rings

Let R be a prime ring with center Z, L a noncentral Lie ideal of R, and σ a nontrivial automorphism of R such that [u ^σ,u] ⁿ  ∈ Z for all u ∈ L. If either char(R) > n or char(R) = 0, then R satisfies s ₄, the standard identity in 4 variables.     

Associated and Attached Primes of Some Graded Modules Over Semigroup Rings

In this paper, algebras are finite dimensional over an algebraically closed field k, and modules are k-finite dimensional left modules. We prove the stable equivalence conjecture for algebras stably equivalent to algebras A with the following conditions: basic, connected and selfinjective; rad³A = 0 but rad²A ¬ 0; and the separated quiver Q³ _A of the quiver Q_A of A consisting of more than two connected components.

UNIQUE FACTORIZATION AND BIRTH OF ALMOST PRIMES

ABSTRACT

In studying unique factorization of domains we encountered a property of ideals. Using that we define the notion of almost prime ideals and prove that in Noetherian domains almost prime ideals are primary. We also prove that in a regular domain almost primes are precisely primes. Further, we define strictly nonprime ideals and study some inter relations between almost prime ideals, strictly nonprime ideals and factorization of ideals.     

Fuzzy Ideals and Fuzzy Interior Ideals in Ordered Semirings

The notions of fuzzy ideals and fuzzy interior ideals in ordered semirings are introduced and some of their characterizations are obtained through regularity criterion and with some operations on them.     

Irreducibility and Reduction Number of Ideals in a One Dimensional Analytically Irreducible Ring

Let R be a one dimensional analytically irreducible ring, and let I be an integral ideal of R. We study the irreducibility and the reduction number of I in relation with the corresponding semigroup ideal v(I) in v(R), where v(R) is the semigroup of values of R. It turns out that, if v(I) is irreducible, then I is irreducible, but the converse does not hold in general. We show also that the reduction number of I in R can assume any positive value less than the multiplicity of R and can be different from the reduction number of v(I).

Prime T-Ideals in Polynomial and Power Series Rings Over a Pseudo-Valuation Domain

Let R be an m-dimensional pseudo-valuation domain with residue field k, let V be the associated valuation domain with residue field K, and let k ₀ be the maximal separable extension of k in K. We compute the t-dimension of polynomial and power series rings over R. It is easy to see that t-dim R[x ₁,…, x _n ] = 2 if m = 1 and K is transcendental over k, but equals m otherwise, and that t-dim R[[x ₁,…, x _n ]] = ∞ if R is a nonSFT-ring. When R is an SFT-ring, we also show that: (1) t-dim R[[x]] = m; (2) t-dim R[[x ₁,…, x _n ]] = 2m ? 1, if n ≥ 2, K has finite exponent over k ₀, and [k ₀: k] < ∞; (3) t-dim R[[x ₁,…, x _n ]] = 2m, otherwise.

Generalised Chain Conditions,Prime Ideals,and Classes of Locally Finite Lie Algebras

A Noetherian (Artinian) Lie algebra satisfies the maximal (minimal) condition for ideals.Generalisations include quasi-Noetherian and quasi-Artinian Lie algebras.We study conditions on prime ideals relating these properties.We prove that the radicalof any ideal of a quasi-Artinian Lie algebra is the intersection of finitely many prime ideals,and an ideally finite Lie algebra is quasi-Noetherian if and only if it is qussi-Artinian.Both properties are equivalent to soluble-by-finite.We also prove a structure theorem for serially finite Artinian Lie algebras.     

Prime and Primitive Ideals in Graded Deformations of Algebraic Quantum Groups at Roots of Unity

Let G be a connected, simply connected complex semisimple Lie group of rank n. The deformations employed by Artin, Schelter and Tate, and Hodges, Levasseur and Toro can be applied to the single parameter quantizations, at roots of unity, of the Hopf algebra of regular functions on G. Each of the resulting complex multiparameter quantum groups F _,p [G] depends on both a suitable root of unity and an antisymmetric bicharacter p: Z ⁿ ×Z ⁿ C ^×. These quantizations differ significantly from their single parameter (root-of-unity) counterparts, and, in particular, may have infinite-dimensional irreducible representations. Our approach to F _,p [G] depends on a natural ×-action thereon, where is an n-torus, and our main result offers a classification of the primitive ideals: We use a multiparameter quantum Frobenius map to provide a bijection from (PrimF _,p [G])/× onto G/H×H, where H is a maximal torus of G. In the single parameter case, this bijection is a consequence of work by De Concini and Lyubashenko, and De Concini and Procesi; our results require their analysis. Our methods also exploit earlier work by Moeglin and Rentschler concerning actions of algebraic groups on complex Noetherian algebras. In contrast to generic quantizations of the coordinate ring of G, the primitive spectrum of F _,p [G] is not finitely stratified by the torus action.     

Perfect Pairs of Ideals and Duals in Numerical Semigroups

This article considers numerical semigroups S that have a nonprincipal relative ideal I such that μ _S (I)μ _S (S ? I) = μ _S (I + (S ? I)). We show the existence of an infinite family of such pairs (S, I) in which I + (S ? I) = S\{0}. We also show examples of such pairs that are not members of this family. We discuss the computational process used to find these examples and present some open questions pertaining to them.
