Motivated by an observation in Danz and Külshammer (2009) [3], we determine the source algebra, and therefore all the structure, of the blocks without essential Brauer pairs where the simple modules of all the Brauer corespondents have trivial sources.  相似文献

A module M is said to be square free if whenever its submodule is isomorphic to N2 = NN for some module N, then N = 0. Dually, a module M is said to be d-square free (dual square free) if whenever its factor module is isomorphic to N2 for some module N, then N = 0. In this paper, we give some fundamental properties of d-square free modules and study rings whose d-square free modules are closed under submodules or essential extensions.  相似文献

We give an example of anF-space which has non-trivial compact endomorphisms, but does not have any non-trivial continuous linear functionals.  相似文献

We show that in certain non-locally convex Orlicz function spacesL ϕ with trivial dual every compact convex set is locally convex and hence the Krein-Milman theorem holds. This complements the example constructed by Roberts of a compact convex set without extreme points inL p (0<p<1) and answers a question raised by Shapiro.  相似文献

Abstract

The two main classes of finite dimensional composition algebras, Hurwitz and symmetric, are characterized in terms of the flexible identity, and even of the third power associative identity, over fields of arbitrary characteristic.  相似文献

The concepts of strongly lifting modules and strongly dual Rickart modules are introduced and their properties are studied and relations between them are given in this paper. It is shown that a strongly lifting module has the strongly summand sum property and the generalized Hopfian property, and a ring R is a strongly regular ring if and only if RR is a strongly dual Rickart module, if and only if aR is a fully invariant direct summand of RR for every aR.  相似文献

For a prime p and a finite group G let Φp(G) denote the complex character associated to the projective indecomposable module in characteristic p with trivial head. Let Irr(Φp(G)) denote the set of irreducible characters occurring as constituents in Φp(G). We characterize all finite simple groups which satisfy Irr(Φp(G))∩Irr(Φq(G))={1G} for all primes pq.  相似文献

We prove birational boundedness results on complete intersections with trivial canonical class of base point free divisors in (some version of) Fano varieties. Our results imply in particular that Batyrev–Borisov toric construction produces only a bounded set of Hodge numbers in any given dimension, even as the codimension is allowed to grow.  相似文献

Trivial extensions of a certain subclass of minimal 2-fundamental algebras are examined. For such algebras the characterization of components of the Auslander-Reiten quiver which contain indecomposable projective modules is given.   相似文献

Given an integer n?≥?3, we investigate the minimal dimension of a subalgebra of M n (𝕂) with a trivial centralizer. It is shown that this dimension is 5 when n is even and 4 when it is odd. In the latter case, we also determine all 4-dimensional subalgebras with a trivial centralizer.  相似文献

We introduce a dual Zariski topology on the spectrum of fully coprime R-submodules of a given duo module M over an associative (not necessarily commutative) ring R. This topology is defined in a way dual to that of defining the Zariski topology on the prime spectrum of R. We investigate this topology and clarify the interplay between the properties of this space and the algebraic properties of the module under consideration.  相似文献

If the additive group of complex numbers acts algebraically on a normal affine variety, then the associated ring of invariants need not be finitely generated, but is an ideal transform of some normal affine algebra (Theorem 1). We investigate such normal affine algebras in the case of a locally trivial action on a factorial variety. If the variety is a complex affine space and the ring of invariants is isomorphic to a polynomial ring, then the action is conjugate to a translation (Theorem 3). Equivalently, ifC n , is the total space for a principalG a -bundle over some open subset ofC n–1 then the bundle is trivial. On the other hand, there is a locally trivialG a -action on a normal affine variety with nonfinitely generated ring of invariants (Theorem 2).Supported in part by NSA Grant No. MDA904-96-1-0069  相似文献
