Let F be a non-formally real field of characteristic not 2 and let W(F) be the Witt ring of F. In certain cases generators for the annihilator ideal are determined. Aim the primary decomposition of A(F) is given. For formally d fields F, as an analogue the primary decomposition of At(F) = {f(X) ∈ Z[X]| f(ω) = 0 for all ω ∈ Wt(F)}, where Wt(F) is the torsion part of the Witt group, is obtained.  相似文献

On Minimal Realization Over a Finite Chain Ring   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Let R be a finite chain ring, e.g. a Galois ring. We give a compact recursive formula for a minimal realization of a finite R-sequence. In particular, we show how to obtain a monic minimal polynomial and a rational approximation of a finite R-sequence. We also show how to solve the classical key equation of Algebraic Coding Theory over R.  相似文献

LetR be a commutative ring,I an invertibleR-module, and consider quadratic spaces with values inI. The Clifford algebra of such a quadratic space is an algebra over the generalized Rees ring associated toI. We discuss the relation between the Witt module of quadratic spaces with values inI and the graded Witt ring and the graded Brauer-Wall group of the generalized Rees ring. This leads to the introduction of three distinguished subgroups of the graded Brauer-Wall group of the generalized Rees ring. The image of the Clifford functor is a subgroup of one of these three subgroups (the type 1 subgroup).  相似文献

Two fields are Witt equivalent if their Witt rings of symmetric bilinear forms are isomorphic. Witt equivalent fields can be understood to be fields having the same quadratic form theory. The behavior of finite fields, local fields, global fields, as well as function fields of curves defined over Archimedean local fields under Witt equivalence is well understood. Numbers of classes of Witt equivalent fields with finite numbers of square classes are also known in some cases. Witt equivalence of general function fields over global fields was studied in the earlier work [13 G?adki, P., Marshall, M. Witt equivalence of function fields over global fields. Trans. Am. Math. Soc., electronically published on April 11, 2017, doi: https://doi.org/10.1090/tran/6898 (to appear in print).[Crossref] [Google Scholar]] by the authors and applied to study Witt equivalence of function fields of curves over global fields. In this paper, we extend these results to local case, i.e. we discuss Witt equivalence of function fields of curves over local fields. As an application, we show that, modulo some additional assumptions, Witt equivalence of two such function fields implies Witt equivalence of underlying local fields.  相似文献

This paper contains two parts toward studying abelian varieties from the classification point of view. In a series of papers[Doc. Math., 21, 1607-1643 (2016)],[Taiwanese J. Math., 20(4), 723-741 (2016)], etc., the current authors and T. C. Yang obtain explicit formulas for the numbers of superspecial abelian surfaces over finite fields. In this paper, we give an explicit formula for the size of the isogeny class of simple abelian surfaces with real Weil number q. This establishes a key step that extends our previous explicit calculation of superspecial abelian surfaces to those of supersingular abelian surfaces. The second part is to introduce the notion of genera and idealcomplexes of abelian varieties with additional structures in a general setting. The purpose is to generalize the previous work by the second named author[Forum Math., 22(3), 565-582 (2010)] on abelian varieties with additional structures to similitude classes, which establishes more results on the connection between geometrically defined and arithmetically defined masses for further investigations.  相似文献

Given a finite field K, we prove that every algebraic number over K can be expressed by both linear and multiplicative forms in conjugates over K of another algebraic number. Furthermore, it is shown that every linear form over K in conjugates vanishes for some nonzero algebraic number. A multiplicative analogue of this result is also obtained.  相似文献

We generalize Joyals theory of species to the case of functors from the groupoid of finite sets to the category of varieties over Fq. These have cycle index series defined by counting fixed points of twisted Frobenius maps. We give an application to configuration spaces.  相似文献

We prove that an alternating e-form on a vector space over a quasi-algebraically closed field always has a singular (e-1)-dimensional subspace, provided that the dimension of the space is strictly greater than e. Here an (e-1)-dimensional subspace is called singular if pairing it with the e-form yields zero. By the theorem of Chevalley and Warning our result applies in particular to finite base fields. Our proof is most interesting in the case where e=3 and the space has odd dimension n; then it involves a beautiful equivariant map from alternating trilinear forms to polynomials of degree . We also give a sharp upper bound on the dimension of subspaces all of whose two-dimensional subspaces are singular for a non-degenerate trilinear form. In certain binomial dimensions the trilinear forms attaining this upper bound turn out to form a single orbit under the general linear group, and we classify their singular lines.  相似文献

The Gruenberg–Kegel graph GK(G) = (V G , E G ) of a finite group G is a simple graph with vertex set V G  = π(G), the set of all primes dividing the order of G, and such that two distinct vertices p and q are joined by an edge, {p, q} ∈ E G , if G contains an element of order pq. The degree deg G (p) of a vertex p ∈ V G is the number of edges incident to p. In the case when π(G) = {p 1, p 2,…, p h } with p 1 < p 2 < … <p h , we consider the h-tuple D(G) = (deg G (p 1), deg G (p 2),…, deg G (p h )), which is called the degree pattern of G. The group G is called k-fold OD-characterizable if there exist exactly k non-isomorphic groups H satisfying condition (|H|, D(H)) = (|G|, D(G)). Especially, a 1-fold OD-characterizable group is simply called OD-characterizable. In this paper, we prove that the simple groups L 10(2) and L 11(2) are OD-characterizable. It is also shown that automorphism groups Aut(L p (2)) and Aut(L p+1(2)), where 2 p  ? 1 is a Mersenne prime, are OD-characterizable. Finally, a list of finite (simple) groups which are presently known to be k-fold OD-characterizable, for certain values of k, is presented.  相似文献

In this paper we study asymptotic properties of families of zeta and L-functions over finite fields. We do it in the context of three main problems: the basic inequality, the Brauer–Siegel type results and the results on distribution of zeroes. We generalize to this abstract setting the results of Tsfasman, Vlăduţ and Lachaud, who studied similar problems for curves and (in some cases) for varieties over finite fields. In the classical case of zeta functions of curves we extend a result of Ihara on the limit behaviour of the Euler–Kronecker constant. Our results also apply to L-functions of elliptic surfaces over finite fields, where we approach the Brauer–Siegel type conjectures recently made by Kunyavskii, Tsfasman and Hindry.  相似文献

We give bounds for exponential sums associated to functions on curves defined over Galois rings. We first define summation subsets as the images of lifts of points from affine opens of the reduced curve, and give bounds for the degrees of their coordinate functions. Then we get bounds for exponential sums, extending results of Kumar et al., Winnie Li over the projective line, and Voloch-Walker over elliptic curves and Cab curves.  相似文献

We define and describe a class of algebraic continued fractions for power series over a finite field. These continued fraction expansions, for which all the partial quotients are polynomials of degree one, have a regular pattern induced by the Frobenius homomorphism.This is an extension, in the case of positive characteristic, of purely periodic expansions corresponding to quadratic power series.  相似文献
