We prove that both the embedding of the category of Hopf algebras into that of bialgebras and the forgetful functor from the category of Hopf algebras to the category of algebras have right adjoints; in other words, every bialgebra has a Hopf coreflection, and on every algebra there exists a cofree Hopf algebra. In this way, we give an affirmative answer to a forty-years old problem posed by Sweedler. On the route, the coequalizers and the coproducts in the category of Hopf algebras are explicitly described.  相似文献

Loday and Ronco defined an interesting Hopf algebra structure on the linear span of the set of planar binary trees. They showed that the inclusion of the Hopf algebra of non-commutative symmetric functions in the Malvenuto–Reutenauer Hopf algebra of permutations factors through their Hopf algebra of trees, and these maps correspond to natural maps from the weak order on the symmetric group to the Tamari order on planar binary trees to the boolean algebra. We further study the structure of this Hopf algebra of trees using a new basis for it. We describe the product, coproduct, and antipode in terms of this basis and use these results to elucidate its Hopf-algebraic structure. In the dual basis for the graded dual Hopf algebra, our formula for the coproduct gives an explicit isomorphism with a free associative algebra. We also obtain a transparent proof of its isomorphism with the non-commutative Connes–Kreimer Hopf algebra of Foissy, and show that this algebra is related to non-commutative symmetric functions as the (commutative) Connes–Kreimer Hopf algebra is related to symmetric functions.  相似文献

Let H be a cosemisimple Hopf algebra over a field k, and π : A→ H be a surjective cocentral bialgebra homomorphism of bialgebras. The authors prove that if A is Galois over its coinvariants B=LH Ker π and B is a sub-Hopf algebra of A, then A is itself a Hopf algebra. This generalizes a result of Cegarra [3] on group-graded algebras.  相似文献

Takeuchi’s famous free Hopf algebra construction is analyzed from a categorical point of view, and so is the construction of the Hopf envelope of a bialgebra. Both constructions in fact can be described as compositions of well known and natural constructions. This way certain partially wrong perceptions of these constructions are clarified and their mutual relation is made precise. The construction of Hopf envelopes finally is shown to provide a construction of a Hopf coreflection of bialgebras by simple dualization. The results provided hold for any commutative von Neumann regular ring, not only for fields.  相似文献

In this paper, the notion of a twisted partial Hopf coaction is introduced. The conditions on partial cocycles are established in order to construct partial crossed coproducts. Then the classification of partial crossed coproducts is discussed. Finally, some necessary and sufficient conditions for a class of partial crossed coproducts to be quasitriangular bialgebras are given.  相似文献

We introduce bidendriform bialgebras, which are bialgebras such that both product and coproduct can be split into two parts satisfying good compatibilities. For example, the Malvenuto-Reutenauer Hopf algebra and the non-commutative Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebras of planar decorated rooted trees are bidendriform bialgebras. We prove that all connected bidendriform bialgebras are generated by their primitive elements as a dendriform algebra (bidendriform Milnor-Moore theorem) and then is isomorphic to a Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra. As a corollary, the Hopf algebra of Malvenuto-Reutenauer is isomorphic to the Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra of planar rooted trees decorated by a certain set. We deduce that the Lie algebra of its primitive elements is free in characteristic zero (G. Duchamp, F. Hivert and J.-Y. Thibon conjecture).  相似文献

We associate to each infinite primitive Lie pseudogroup a Hopf algebra of ‘transverse symmetries,’ by refining a procedure due to Connes and the first author in the case of the general pseudogroup. The affiliated Hopf algebra can be viewed as a ‘quantum group’ counterpart of the infinite-dimensional primitive Lie algebra of the pseudogroup. It is first constructed via its action on the étale groupoid associated to the pseudogroup, and then realized as a bicrossed product of a universal enveloping algebra by a Hopf algebra of regular functions on a formal group. The bicrossed product structure allows to express its Hopf cyclic cohomology in terms of a bicocyclic bicomplex analogous to the Chevalley-Eilenberg complex. As an application, we compute the relative Hopf cyclic cohomology modulo the linear isotropy for the Hopf algebra of the general pseudogroup, and find explicit cocycle representatives for the universal Chern classes in Hopf cyclic cohomology. As another application, we determine all Hopf cyclic cohomology groups for the Hopf algebra associated to the pseudogroup of local diffeomorphisms of the line.  相似文献

Let D be the set of isomorphism types of finite double partially ordered sets, that is sets endowed with two partial orders. On ZD we define a product and a coproduct, together with an internal product, that is, degree-preserving. With these operations ZD is a Hopf algebra. We define a symmetric bilinear form on this Hopf algebra: it counts the number of pictures (in the sense of Zelevinsky) between two double posets. This form is a Hopf pairing, which means that product and coproduct are adjoint each to another. The product and coproduct correspond respectively to disjoint union of posets and to a natural decomposition of a poset into order ideals. Restricting to special double posets (meaning that the second order is total), we obtain a notion equivalent to Stanley's labelled posets, and a Hopf subalgebra already considered by Blessenohl and Schocker. The mapping which maps each double poset onto the sum of the linear extensions of its first order, identified via its second (total) order with permutations, is a Hopf algebra homomorphism, which is isometric and preserves the internal product, onto the Hopf algebra of permutations, previously considered by the two authors. Finally, the scalar product between any special double poset and double posets naturally associated to integer partitions is described by an extension of the Littlewood-Richardson rule.  相似文献

Abstract

The category HopfR of Hopf algebras over a commutative unital ring R is analyzed with respect to its categorical properties. The main results are: (1) For every ring R the category HopfR is locally presentable, it is coreflective in the category of bialgebras over R, over every R-algebra there exists a cofree Hopf algebra. (2) If, in addition, R is absoluty flat, then HopfR is reflective in the category of bialgebras as well, and there exists a free Hopf algebra over every R-coalgebra. Similar results are obtained for relevant subcategories of HopfR. Moreover it is shown that, for every commutative unital ring R, the so-called “dual algebra functor” has a left adjoint and that, more generally, universal measuring coalgebras exist.  相似文献

Let H = X? R A denote an R-smash product of the two bialgebras X and A. We prove that (X,A) is a pair of matched bialgebras, if the R-smash product H has a braiding structure. When X is an associative algebra and A is a Hopf algebra, we investigate the global dimension and the weak dimension of the smash product H = X? R A and show that lD(H) ≤ rD(A) + lD(X) and wD(H) ≤ wD(A) + wD(X). As an application, we get lD(H 4) = ∞ for Sweedler's four dimensional Hopf algebra H 4. We also study the associativity of smash products and the relations between smash products and factorization for algebras.  相似文献

This paper provides a primer in quantum field theory (QFT) based on Hopf algebra and describes new Hopf algebraic constructions inspired by QFT concepts. The following QFT concepts are introduced: chronological products, S ‐matrix, Feynman diagrams, connected diagrams, Green functions, renormalization. The use of Hopf algebra for their definition allows for simple recursive derivations and leads to a correspondence between Feynman diagrams and semi‐standard Young tableaux. Reciprocally, these concepts are used as models to derive Hopf algebraic constructions such as a connected coregular action or a group structure on the linear maps from S (V) to V. In many cases, noncommutative analogues are derived (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Abstract

This paper, mainly gives a Fundamental Theorem of weak Doi–Hopf modules, which is not only generalizes the Fundamental Theorem of weak Hopf modules but also generalizes the Fundamental Theorem of relative Hopf modules. Moreover, it gives a sufficient and necessary condition for weak smash product algebras to be weak bialgebras, and a sufficient condition for weak smash product algebras to be semisimple weak Hopf algebras.  相似文献

We define Hopf monads on an arbitrary monoidal category, extending the definition given in Bruguières and Virelizier (2007) [5] for monoidal categories with duals. A Hopf monad is a bimonad (or opmonoidal monad) whose fusion operators are invertible. This definition can be formulated in terms of Hopf adjunctions, which are comonoidal adjunctions with an invertibility condition. On a monoidal category with internal Homs, a Hopf monad is a bimonad admitting a left and a right antipode.Hopf monads generalize Hopf algebras to the non-braided setting. They also generalize Hopf algebroids (which are linear Hopf monads on a category of bimodules admitting a right adjoint). We show that any finite tensor category is the category of finite-dimensional modules over a Hopf algebroid.Any Hopf algebra in the center of a monoidal category C gives rise to a Hopf monad on C. The Hopf monads so obtained are exactly the augmented Hopf monads. More generally if a Hopf monad T is a retract of a Hopf monad P, then P is a cross product of T by a Hopf algebra of the center of the category of T-modules (generalizing the Radford–Majid bosonization of Hopf algebras). We show that the comonoidal comonad of a Hopf adjunction is canonically represented by a cocommutative central coalgebra. As a corollary, we obtain an extension of Sweedler?s Hopf module decomposition theorem to Hopf monads (in fact to the weaker notion of pre-Hopf monad).  相似文献

Multiplier Hopf algebroids are algebraic versions of quantum groupoids that generalize Hopf algebroids to the non-unital case and weak (multiplier) Hopf algebras to non-separable base algebras. The main structure maps of a multiplier Hopf algebroid are a left and a right comultiplication. We show that bijectivity of two associated canonical maps is equivalent to the existence of an antipode, discusses invertibility of the antipode, and presents some examples and special cases.  相似文献

We begin by considering the graded vector space with a basis consisting of rooted trees, with grading given by the count of non-root vertices. We define two linear operators on this vector space, the growth and pruning operators, which respectively raise and lower grading; their commutator is the operator that multiplies a rooted tree by its number of vertices, and each operator naturally associates a multiplicity to each pair of rooted trees. By using symmetry groups of trees we define an inner product with respect to which the growth and pruning operators are adjoint, and obtain several results about the associated multiplicities.

Now the symmetric algebra on the vector space of rooted trees (after a degree shift) can be endowed with a coproduct to make a Hopf algebra; this was defined by Kreimer in connection with renormalization. We extend the growth and pruning operators, as well as the inner product mentioned above, to Kreimer's Hopf algebra. On the other hand, the vector space of rooted trees itself can be given a noncommutative multiplication: with an appropriate coproduct, this leads to the Hopf algebra of Grossman and Larson. We show that the inner product on rooted trees leads to an isomorphism of the Grossman-Larson Hopf algebra with the graded dual of Kreimer's Hopf algebra, correcting an earlier result of Panaite.

Lattice congruences, fans and Hopf algebras   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We give a unified explanation of the geometric and algebraic properties of two well-known maps, one from permutations to triangulations, and another from permutations to subsets. Furthermore we give a broad generalization of the maps. Specifically, for any lattice congruence of the weak order on a Coxeter group we construct a complete fan of convex cones with strong properties relative to the corresponding lattice quotient of the weak order. We show that if a family of lattice congruences on the symmetric groups satisfies certain compatibility conditions then the family defines a sub Hopf algebra of the Malvenuto–Reutenauer Hopf algebra of permutations. Such a sub Hopf algebra has a basis which is described by a type of pattern avoidance. Applying these results, we build the Malvenuto–Reutenauer algebra as the limit of an infinite sequence of smaller algebras, where the second algebra in the sequence is the Hopf algebra of non-commutative symmetric functions. We also associate both a fan and a Hopf algebra to a set of permutations which appears to be equinumerous with the Baxter permutations.  相似文献

Central bialgebras in a braided category are algebras in the center of the category of coalgebras in . On these bialgebras another product can be defined, which plays the role of the opposite product. Hence, coquasitriangular structures on central bialgebras can be defined. We prove some properties of the antipode on coquasitriangular central Hopf algebras and give a characterization of central bialgebras.  相似文献
