On the p 2-Rank of Tame Kernels of Quadratic Fields

For any odd prime p, we prove some results connecting the p²-rank of the tame kernel of a quadratic field F with the p²-rank Cl(𝒪_E1 ), where E₁ is the maximal real subfield of F(ζ_p² ).

Let F be an imaginary quadratic number field and K ₂ O _F the tame kernel of F. In this article, we determine all possible values of r ₄(K ₂ O _F ) for each type of imaginary quadratic number field F. In particular, for each type of imaginary quadratic number field we give the maximum possible value of r ₄(K ₂ O _F ) and show that each integer between the lower and upper bounds occurs as a value of the 4-rank of K ₂ O _F for infinitely many imaginary quadratic number fields F.     

On the Mean 3-Rank of Quadratic Fields

The Cohen–Lenstra–Martinet heuristics give precise predictions about the class groups of a random number field. The 3-rank of quadratic fields is one of the few instances where these have been proven. We prove that, in this case, the rate of convergence is at least sub-exponential. In addition, we show that the defect appearing in Scholz';s mirror theorem is equidistributed with respect to a twisted Cohen–Lenstra density.

On the 3-Pfister Number of Quadratic Forms

For a field F of characteristic different from 2, containing a square root of -1, endowed with an F^×2-compatible valuation v such that the residue field has at most two square classes, we use a combinatorial analogue of the Witt ring of F to prove that an anisotropic quadratic form over F with even dimension d, trivial discriminant, and Hasse–Witt invariant can be written in the Witt ring as the sum of at most (d²)/8 3-fold Pfister forms.

两类虚二次域类数之间关系的一个注记

就素数d=5,13,29,53,173,293时给出了虚二次数域■(-k)与■(-kd)(k>2,k∈■)的类数之间的关系.     

二次矩阵方程X~2-bX-C=O的正定解

研究二次矩阵方程X2-bX-C=O(b>0,C为n×n阶正定阵)的正定解,证明了解的存在唯一性并且给出了求解方法.     

也谈实二次域类数的可除性

设ｄ无平方因子，ｈ（ｄ）是二次域Ｑ（ｄ）的类数，本文证明了：若１＋４ｋ２ｎ＝ｄａ２，ａ，ｋ＞１，ｎ＞２为正整数，且ａ＜０．９ｋ３５ｎ或ｎ的奇素因子ｐ和ｋ的素因子ｑ均适合（ｐ，ｑ－１）＝１，则除（ａ，ｄ，ｋ，ｎ）＝（５，４１，２，４）以外，ｈ（ｄ）≡０（ｍｏｄｎ）．同时，我们猜测：上述结果中的条件（ｐ，ｑ－１）＝１是不必要的．     

A Note on Factoring of Positive Definite Functions on Semigroups

The problem of characterizing those semigroups of class ℳ︁ such that every positive definite function factors via the greatest C ‐separative ∗︁‐homomorphic image is shown to be equivalent to several other problems, including that of characterizing flat semigroups. If the latter could be solved then the problem of characterizing perfect semigroups would be reduced to characterizing quasi‐perfect semigroups.
