In this survey article we discuss the origin, theory and applications of left-symmetric algebras (LSAs in short) in geometry in physics. Recently Connes, Kreimer and Kontsevich have introduced LSAs in mathematical physics (QFT and renormalization theory), where the name pre-Lie algebras is used quite often. Already Cayley wrote about such algebras more than hundred years ago. Indeed, LSAs arise in many different areas of mathematics and physics. We attempt to give a survey of the fields where LSAs play an important role. Furthermore we study the algebraic theory of LSAs such as structure theory, radical theory, cohomology theory and the classification of simple LSAs. We also discuss applications to faithful Lie algebra representations.  相似文献

作为非齐次结合经典Yang-Baxter 方程的代数抽象,带权无穷小双代数在数学和数学物理领域扮演着重要的角色. 本文引入了带权无穷小Hopf模的概念,证明了带权拟三角无穷小单位双代数上的任意模都有一个自然的带权无穷小单位Hopf模结构.利用一种新的方式装饰平面根森林, 并证明根森林的空间,连同它上边的余乘和一组嫁接算子是集合上权为零的自由多重1-余圈无穷小单位双代数. 给出了余乘的一个组合解释.作为应用, 得到了未装饰的平面根森林上的余圈无穷小单位双代数范畴中的初始对象,它也是(非交换)Connes-Kreimer-Hopf代数中的研究对象. 最后,分别从任意带权无穷小双代数和带权交换无穷小双代数导出了两个预李代数,其中第二个构造推广了Novikov 代数上的Gelfand-Dorfman定理.  相似文献

This paper is a continuation of [EK]. We show that the quantization procedure of [EK] is given by universal acyclic formulas and defines a functor from the category of Lie bialgebras to the category of quantized universal enveloping algebras. We also show that this functor defines an equivalence between the category of Lie bialgebras over k [[h]] and the category of quantized universal enveloping (QUE) algebras.  相似文献

We correct and complete Weinberg's classification of the lattice-orders of the matrix ring and show that this classification holds for the matrix algebra where is any totally ordered field. In particular, the lattice-order of obtained by stipulating that a matrix is positive precisely when each of its entries is positive is, up to isomorphism, the only lattice-order of with . It is also shown, assuming a certain maximum condition, that is essentially the only lattice-order of the algebra in which the identity element is positive.

The matrix exponential plays a fundamental role in the solution of differential systems which appear in different science fields. This paper presents an efficient method for computing matrix exponentials based on Hermite matrix polynomial expansions. Hermite series truncation together with scaling and squaring and the application of floating point arithmetic bounds to the intermediate results provide excellent accuracy results compared with the best acknowledged computational methods. A backward-error analysis of the approximation in exact arithmetic is given. This analysis is used to provide a theoretical estimate for the optimal scaling of matrices. Two algorithms based on this method have been implemented as MATLAB functions. They have been compared with MATLAB functions funm and expm obtaining greater accuracy in the majority of tests. A careful cost comparison analysis with expm is provided showing that the proposed algorithms have lower maximum cost for some matrix norm intervals. Numerical tests show that the application of floating point arithmetic bounds to the intermediate results may reduce considerably computational costs, reaching in numerical tests relative higher average costs than expm of only 4.43% for the final Hermite selected order, and obtaining better accuracy results in the 77.36% of the test matrices. The MATLAB implementation of the best Hermite matrix polynomial based algorithm has been made available online.  相似文献
