We consider R‐torsionfree modules over group rings RG, where R is a Dedekind domain and G is a finite group. We compare the (first order) theory T of al these modules and the theory T0 of the finitely generated ones (so of RG‐lattices). It is easy to realize that they are equal iff R is a field. The obstruction is the existence of R‐divisible R‐torsionfree RG‐modules. Accordingly we consider R‐reduced R‐torsionfree RG‐modules for a local R. We show that the key conditions ensuring that their theory equals T0 are: (1) RG‐lattices have a finite representation type; (2) each attice over the completion R̂G is isomorphic to the completion of some RG‐lattice.Some related questions are discussed.  相似文献

A ring R is called left P-coherent in case each principal left ideal of R is finitely presented. A left R-module M (resp. right R-module N) is called D-injective (resp. D-flat) if Ext1(G, M) = 0 (resp. Tor1(N, G) = 0) for every divisible left R-module G. It is shown that every left R-module over a left P-coherent ring R has a divisible cover; a left R-module M is D-injective if and only if M is the kernel of a divisible precover A → B with A injective; a finitely presented right R-module L over a left P-coherent ring R is D-flat if and only if L is the cokernel of a torsionfree preenvelope K → F with F flat. We also study the divisible and torsionfree dimensions of modules and rings. As applications, some new characterizations of von Neumann regular rings and PP rings are given.  相似文献

A left R-module M is called strongly P-projective if Exti(M, P) = 0 for all projective left R-modules P and all i ≥ 1. In this article, we first discuss properties of strongly P-projective modules. Then we introduce and study the strongly P-projective dimensions of modules and rings. Let R be a ring,X a class of R-modules and n ≥ 1 an integer.We intro-duce the concepts of Gorenstein n-X-injective and n-X-flat modules via special finitely presented modules.Besides,we obtain some equivalent properties of these modules on n-X-coherent rings.Then we investigate the relations among Gorenstein n-X-injective,n-X-flat,injective and fiat modules on X-FC-rings (i.e.,self n-X-injective and n-X-coherent rings).Several known results are generalized to this new context.  相似文献

We prove that the class of Gorenstein injective modules is both enveloping and covering over a two sided noetherian ring such that the character modules of Gorenstein injective modules are Gorenstein flat. In the second part of the paper we consider the connection between the Gorenstein injective modules and the strongly cotorsion modules. We prove that when the ring R is commutative noetherian of finite Krull dimension, the class of Gorenstein injective modules coincides with that of strongly cotorsion modules if and only if the ring R is in fact Gorenstein.  相似文献

In the Gorenstein homological theory, Gorenstein projective and Gorenstein injective dimensions play an important and fundamental role. In this paper, we aim at studying the closely related strongly Gorenstein flat and Gorenstein FP-injective dimensions, and show that some characterizations similar to Gorenstein homological dimensions hold for these two dimensions.  相似文献

A right R-module M is called glat if any homomorphism from any finitely presented right R-module to M factors through a finitely presented Gorenstein projective right R-module. The concept of glat modules may be viewed as another Gorenstein analogue of flat modules. We first prove that the class of glat right R-modules is closed under direct sums, direct limits, pure quotients and pure submodules for arbitrary ring R. Then we obtain that a right R-module M is glat if and only if M is a direct limit of finitely presented Gorenstein projective right R-modules. In addition, we explore the relationships between glat modules and Gorenstein flat (Gorenstein projective) modules. Finally we investigate the existence of preenvelopes and precovers by glat and finitely presented Gorenstein projective modules.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. There are several characterizations of Gorenstein rings in terms of classical homological dimensions of their modules. In this paper, we use Gorenstein dimensions (Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat dimension) to describe Gorenstein rings. Moreover a characterization of Gorenstein injective (resp. We study groups whose cohomology functors commute with filtered colimits in high dimensions. We relate this condition to the existence of projective resolutions which exhibit some finiteness properties in high dimensions, and to the existence of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces with finitely many n-cells for all sufficiently large n. To that end, we determine the structure of completely finitary Gorenstein projective modules over group rings. The methods are inspired by representation theory and make use of the stable module category, in which morphisms are defined through complete cohomology. In order to carry out these methods, we need to restrict ourselves to certain classes of hierarchically decomposable groups.  相似文献

Before his death, Auslander announced that every finitely generated module over a local Gorenstein ring has a minimal Cohen–Macaulay approximation. Yoshimo extended Auslander's result to local Cohen–Macaulay rings admitting a dualizing module.Over a local Gorenstein ring the finitely generated maximal Cohen–Macaulay modules are the finitely generated Gorenstein projective modules so in fact Auslander's theorem says finitely generated modules over such rings have Gorenstein projective covers. We extend Auslander's theorem by proving that over a local Cohen–Macaulay ring admitting a dualizing module all finitely generated modules of finite G-dimension (in Auslander's sense) have a Gorenstein projective cover. Since all finitely generated modules over a Gorenstein ring have finite G-dimension, we recover Auslander's theorem when R is Gorenstein.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the relations between Gorenstein projective modules and Gorenstein flat modules in terms of strict Mittag–Leffler condition. We give some conditions under which Gorenstein projectives are Gorenstein flat, and discuss when the direct limits of Gorenstein projective modules are Gorenstein flat.
