We define the concept of a regular object with respect to another object in an arbitrary category. We present basic properties of regular objects and we study this concept in the special cases of abelian categories and locally finitely generated Grothendieck categories. Applications are given for categories of comodules over a coalgebra and for categories of graded modules, and a link to the theory of generalized inverses of matrices is presented. Some of the techniques we use are new, since dealing with arbitrary categories allows us to pass to the dual category.   相似文献

It has been a long standing open problem whether the finite exchange property implies the full exchange property for an arbitrary module. The main results of this paper are Theorem 1.1: For modules whose idempotent endomorphisms are central, the finite exchange property implies the countable exchange property, and Theorem 2.11: Over a ring with ace on essential right ideals, the finite exchange property implies the full exchange property for every quasi-continuous module. The latter can be viewed as a partial affirmative answer to an open problem of Mohamed and Muller [8].  相似文献

The following are equivalent for a skeletally small abelian Hom-finite category over a field with enough injectives and each simple object being an epimorphic image of a projective object of finite length.

(a) Each indecomposable injective has a simple subobject.

(b) The category is equivalent to the category of socle-finitely copresented right comodules over a right semiperfect and right cocoherent coalgebra such that each simple right comodule is socle-finitely copresented.

(c) The category has left almost split sequences.

We introduce the concept of cotensor coalgebra for a given bicomodule over a coalgebra in an Abelian monoidal category ?. If ? is also cocomplete, complete, and AB5, we show that such a cotensor coalgebra exists and satisfies a meaningful universal property which resembles the classical one. Here the lack of the coradical filtration is filled by considering a direct limit of a filtration consisting of wedge products. We prove that this coalgebra is formally smooth whenever the comodule is relative injective and the coalgebra itself is formally smooth.  相似文献

We show that coalgebras whose lattice of right coideals is distributive are coproducts of coalgebras whose lattice of right coideals is a chain. Those chain coalgebras are characterized as finite duals of Noetherian chain rings whose residue field is a finite dimensional division algebra over the base field. They also turn out to be coreflexive. Infinite dimensional chain coalgebras are finite duals of left Noetherian chain domains. Given any finite dimensional division algebra D and D-bimodule structure on D, we construct a chain coalgebra as a cotensor coalgebra. Moreover if D is separable over the base field, every chain coalgebra of type D can be embedded in such a cotensor coalgebra. As a consequence, cotensor coalgebras arising in this way are the only infinite dimensional chain coalgebras over perfect fields. Finite duals of power series rings with coeficients in a finite dimensional division algebra D are further examples of chain coalgebras, which also can be seen as tensor products of D, and the divided power coalgebra and can be realized as the generalized path coalgebra of a loop. If D is central, any chain coalgebra is a subcoalgebra of the finite dual of D[[x]].  相似文献

We introduce two new classes of fusion categories which are obtained by a certain procedure from finite groups – weakly group-theoretical categories and solvable categories. These are fusion categories that are Morita equivalent to iterated extensions (in the world of fusion categories) of arbitrary, respectively solvable finite groups. Weakly group-theoretical categories have integer dimension, and all known fusion categories of integer dimension are weakly group-theoretical. Our main results are that a weakly group-theoretical category C has the strong Frobenius property (i.e., the dimension of any simple object in an indecomposable C-module category divides the dimension of C), and that any fusion category whose dimension has at most two prime divisors is solvable (a categorical analog of Burnside's theorem for finite groups). This has powerful applications to classification of fusion categories and semsisimple Hopf algebras of a given dimension. In particular, we show that any fusion category of integer dimension <84 is weakly group-theoretical (i.e. comes from finite group theory), and give a full classification of semisimple Hopf algebras of dimensions pqr and pq2, where p,q,r are distinct primes.  相似文献

We generalize a well-known two-parameter quantization for the group GL 2(k) (over an arbitrary field k). Specifically, a certain class of Hopf algebras is constructed containing that quantization. The algebras are constructed given an arbitrary coalgebra and an arbitrary pair of its commuting anti-isomorphisms, and are defined by quadratic relations. They are densely linked to the compact quantum groups introduced by Woronowicz. We give examples of Hopf algebras that can be rowed up to the two-parameter quantization for GL 2(k).  相似文献

The coefficient coalgebra of r-fold tensor space and its dual, the Schur algebra, are generalized in such a way that the role of the symmetric group Σ r is played by an arbitrary subgroup of Σ r . The dimension of the coefficient coalgebra of a symmetrized tensor space is computed and the dual of this coalgebra is shown to be isomorphic to the analogue of the Schur algebra.  相似文献

We describe new structure on the Goodwillie derivatives of a functor, and we show how the full Taylor tower of the functor can be recovered from this structure. This new structure takes the form of a coalgebra over a certain comonad which we construct, and whose precise nature depends on the source and target categories of the functor in question. The Taylor tower can be recovered from standard cosimplicial cobar constructions on the coalgebra formed by the derivatives. We get from this an equivalence between the homotopy category of polynomial functors and that of bounded coalgebras over this comonad.  相似文献

Localisation is an important technique in ring theory and yields the construction of various rings of quotients. Colocalisation in comodule categories has been investigated by some authors (see Jara et al., Commun. Algebra, 34(8):2843–2856, 2006 and Nastasescu and Torrecillas, J. Algebra, 185:203–220, 1994). Here we look at possible coalgebra covers π : DC that could play the rôle of a coalgebra colocalisation. Codense covers will dualise dense (or rational) extensions; a maximal codense cover construction for coalgebras with projective covers is proposed. We also look at a dual non-singularity concept for modules which turns out to be the comodule-theoretic property that turns the dual algebra of a coalgebra into a non-singular ring. As a corollary we deduce that hereditary coalgebras and hence path coalgebras are non-singular in the above sense. We also look at coprime coalgebras and Hopf algebras which are non-singular as coalgebras.  相似文献

The wedge product of subcoalgebras of a coalgebra can be used to define coprime coalgebras. On the other hand, coprime elements in the big lattice of preradicals in module categories also lead to the definition of coprime modules. Considering a coalgebra C as a module over its dual algebra C*, this yields another notion of coprimeness for coalgebras. Under special conditions, the two definitions coincide. __________ Translated from Fundamentalnaya i Prikladnaya Matematika, Vol. 11, No. 2, pp. 45–49, 2005.  相似文献

We introduce and study the Picard group of a coring. We give an exact sequence relating the Picard group of a coring and its automorphisms generalizing the known exact sequences associated to an algebra and a coalgebra over a field. We also extend to corings the Aut–Pic property and we give some new corings satisfying this property.  相似文献

On the basis of the structure of Casimir elements associated with general Hopf algebras, we construct Liouville–Arnold integrable flows related to naturally induced Poisson structures on an arbitrary coalgebra and their deformations. Some interesting special cases, including coalgebra structures related to the oscillatory Heisenberg–Weil algebra and integrable Hamiltonian systems adjoint to them, are considered.  相似文献

We investigate cofree coalgebras, and limits and colimits of coalgebras in some abelian monoidal categories of interest, such as bimodules over a ring, and modules and comodules over a bialgebra or Hopf algebra. We find concrete generators for the categories of coalgebras in these monoidal categories, and explicitly construct cofree coalgebras, products and limits of coalgebras in each case. This answers an open question in Agore (Proc Am Math Soc 139:855–863, 2011) on the existence of a cofree coring, and constructs the cofree (co)module coalgebra on a B-(co)module, for a bialgebra B.  相似文献

We develop the fundamentals of hereditary noetherian categories with Serre duality over an arbitrary field k, where the category of coherent sheaves over a smooth projective curve over k serves as the prime example and others are coming from the representation theory of finite dimensional algebras. The proper way to view such a category is to think of coherent sheaves on a possibly non-commutative smooth projective curve. We define for each such category notions like function field and Euler characteristic, determine its Auslander-Reiten components and study stable and semistable bundles for an appropriate notion of degree. We provide a complete classification of hereditary noetherian categories for the case of positive Euler characteristic by relating these to finite dimensional representations of (locally bounded) hereditary k-algebras whose underlying valued quiver admits a positive additive function. In this note we develop a decomposition theory of comodules over a general coalgebra. We relate it with other known decomposition theories and apply it to the decomposition of categories.  相似文献

We introduce for any Grothendieck category the notion of stable localizing subcategory, as a localizing subcategory that can be written as an intersection of localizing subcategories defined by indecomposable injectives. A Grothendieck category in which every localizing subcategory is stable is called a locally stable category. As a main result we give a characterization of these categories in terms of the local stability of a localizing subcategory and its quotient category. The locally coirreducible categories (in particular, the categories with Gabriel dimension) and the locally noetherian categories are examples of locally stable categories. We also present some applications to the category of modules over a left fully bounded noetherian ring, to the category of comodules over a coalgebra and to the category of modules over graded rings.  相似文献

We introduce a finiteness property for braided fusion categories, describe a conjecture that would characterize categories possessing this, and verify the conjecture in a number of important cases. In particular we say a category has property F if the associated braid group representations factor over a finite group, and suggest that categories of integral Frobenius-Perron dimension are precisely those with property F.  相似文献

Group Corings
We introduce group corings, and study functors between categories of comodules over group corings, and the relationship to graded modules over graded rings. Galois group corings are defined, and a Structure Theorem for the G-comodules over a Galois group coring is given. We study (graded) Morita contexts associated to a group coring. Our theory is applied to group corings associated to a comodule algebra over a Hopf group coalgebra.
