ABSTRACT

In studying unique factorization of domains we encountered a property of ideals. Using that we define the notion of almost prime ideals and prove that in Noetherian domains almost prime ideals are primary. We also prove that in a regular domain almost primes are precisely primes. Further, we define strictly nonprime ideals and study some inter relations between almost prime ideals, strictly nonprime ideals and factorization of ideals.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. Various generalizations of prime ideals have been studied. For example, a proper ideal I of R is weakly prime (resp., almost prime) if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? {0} (resp., ab ∈ I ? I 2) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. Let φ:?(R) → ?(R) ∪ {?} be a function where ?(R) is the set of ideals of R. We call a proper ideal I of R a φ-prime ideal if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? φ(I) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. So taking φ?(J) = ? (resp., φ0(J) = 0, φ2(J) = J 2), a φ?-prime ideal (resp., φ0-prime ideal, φ2-prime ideal) is a prime ideal (resp., weakly prime ideal, almost prime ideal). We show that φ-prime ideals enjoy analogs of many of the properties of prime ideals.  相似文献

Full Ideals
Contractedness of 𝔪-primary integrally closed ideals played a central role in the development of Zariski's theory of integrally closed ideals in two-dimensional regular local rings (R, 𝔪). In such rings, the contracted 𝔪-primary ideals are known to be characterized by the property that I: 𝔪 = I: x for some x ∈ 𝔪 ?𝔪2. We call the ideals with this property full ideals and compare this class of ideals with the classes of 𝔪-full ideals, basically full ideals, and contracted ideals in higher dimensional regular local rings. The 𝔪-full ideals are easily seen to be full. In this article, we find a sufficient condition for a full ideal to be 𝔪-full. We also show the equivalence of the properties full, 𝔪-full, contracted, integrally closed, and normal, for the class of parameter ideals. We then find a sufficient condition for a basically full parameter ideal to be full.  相似文献

We present two applications of a characteristic p analog of multiplier ideals, which is a generalization of the test ideal in the theory of tight closure. Namely, we give alternative proofs to Smith's result on base-point-freeness of adjoint bundles in characteristic p > 0 and results on uniform behavior of symbolic powers in a regular local ring due to Ein, Lazarsfeld and Smith, and Hochster and Huneke.  相似文献

Abstract

Eisenbud et al. proved a number of results regarding Gröbner bases and initial ideals of those ideals J in the free associative algebra K ?X 1,…, X n ? which contain the commutator ideal. We prove similar results for ideals which contains the anti-commutator ideal (the defining ideal of the exterior algebra). We define one weak notion of generic initial ideals in K ?X 1,…, X n ?, and show that generic initial ideals of ideals containing the anti-commutator ideal, or the commutator ideal, are finitely generated.  相似文献

Let I be a complete m-primary ideal of a regular local ring (R, m) of dimension d ≥ 2. In the case of dimension two, the beautiful theory developed by Zariski implies that I factors uniquely as a product of powers of simple complete ideals and each of the simple complete factors of I has a unique Rees valuation. In the higher dimensional case, a simple complete ideal of R often has more than one Rees valuation, and a complete m-primary ideal I may have finitely many or infinitely many base points. For the ideals having finitely many base points Lipman proves a unique factorization involving special *-simple complete ideals and possibly negative exponents of the factors. Let T be an infinitely near point to R with dim R = dim T and R/m = T/m T . We prove that the special *-simple complete ideal P RT has a unique Rees valuation if and only if either dim R = 2 or there is no change of direction in the unique finite sequence of local quadratic transformations from R to T. We also examine conditions for a complete ideal to be projectively full.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The generic initial ideals of a given ideal are rather recent invariants. Not much is known about these objects, and it turns out to be very difficult to compute them. The main purpose of this paper is to study the behaviour of generic initial ideals with respect to the operation of taking distractions. Theorem 4.3 is our main result. It states that the DegRevLex-generic initial ideal of the distraction of a strongly stable ideal is the ideal itself. In proving this fact, we develop some new results related to distractions, stable and strongly stable ideals. We draw some geometric conclusions for ideals of points.  相似文献

Abstract

For a class of prime ideals P of a cancellative semigroup S it is shown that the factors S/P have a structure of a monomial semigroup over a group. Consequences for the semigroup algebras K[S] are discussed.  相似文献

Several bounds on the number of generators of Cohen-Macaulay ideals known in the literature follow from a simple inequality which bounds the number of generators of such ideals in terms of mixed multiplicities. Results of Cohen and Akizuki, Abhyankar, Sally, Rees and Boratynski-Eisenbud-Rees are deduced very easily from this inequality.

In this article, all Macaulay–Lex ideals of k[x, y] are determined. For k[x, y, z], many non-Macaulay–Lex ideals and several Macaulay–Lex ideals are determined.  相似文献

For a (countable) graph E and a unital commutative ring R, we analyze the ideal structure of the Leavitt path algebra L R (E) introduced by Mark Tomforde. We first modify the definition of basic ideals and then develop the ideal characterization of Mark Tomforde. We also give necessary and sufficient conditions for the primeness and the primitivity of L R (E), and we then determine prime graded basic ideals and left (or right) primitive graded ideals of L R (E). In particular, when E satisfies Condition (K) and R is a field, they imply that the set of prime ideals and the set of primitive ideals of L R (E) coincide.  相似文献

An ideal of a ring is completely irreducible if it is not the intersection of any set of proper overideals. We investigate the structure of completely irrreducible ideals in a commutative ring without finiteness conditions. It is known that every ideal of a ring is an intersection of completely irreducible ideals. We characterize in several ways those ideals that admit a representation as an irredundant intersection of completely irreducible ideals, and we study the question of uniqueness of such representations. We characterize those commutative rings in which every ideal is an irredundant intersection of completely irreducible ideals.

In this paper, we introduce the notion of G-liftable ideals, which extends the liftable ideas defined by Assem and Le Meur. We characterize the G-liftable ideals and construct the Galois G-coverings of quotients of categories associated to the G-liftable ideals. In particular, we study the behavior of G-liftable admissible ideals under Galois G-coverings. Furthermore, we show that the ideals generated by finite dimensional projective modules over a locally bounded linear categories are admissible G-liftable ideals. As an application, we provide a reduction technique for dealing with the existence of Serre functors in the stable categories of Gorenstein projective objects.  相似文献

Abstract

In the present work, a procedure for determining idempotents of a commutative ring having a sequence of ideals with certain properties is presented. As an application of this procedure, idempotent elements of various commutative rings are determined. Several examples are included illustrating the main results.  相似文献

Let k be a positive integer. The structure of rings all of whose ideals are n-primary for some positive integer n ≤ k is studied, and several examples of such rings are constructed. Rings all of whose nonzero ideals are n-primary for some positive integer n ≤ k is also considered.  相似文献
