Abstract

Let F be a free profinite group of countably infinite rank and 𝒞(Δ) the class of all finite groups whose composition factors are in Δ for a non-empty class Δ of finite simple groups. Let R Δ(F) be the intersection of all open normal subgroups N of F such that F/N is in 𝒞(Δ). Then we prove that, if 𝒩 is the class of finite groups which have no non-trivial 𝒞(Δ)-quotient, then R Δ(F) is a pro-𝒩 group of countable rank and every finite 𝒩-embedding problem for R Δ(F) is solvable.  相似文献

A monomial basis and a filtration of subalgebras for the universal enveloping algebra 𝔘(𝔤 l ) of a complex simple Lie algebra 𝔤 l of type A l is given in this note. In particular, a new multiplicity formula for the Weyl module V(λ) of 𝔘(𝔤 l ) is obtained in this note.  相似文献

Abstract

Let 𝒢 be a simple finite dimensional Lie algebra over the complex numbers and let 𝒢¯ = 𝒢1 ⊕…⊕ 𝒢 k be a regular semisimple subalgebra of 𝒢 with each 𝒢 i being a simple algebra of type A or C. It is shown that the lattice of submodules of a generalized Verma 𝒢-module constructed by parabolic induction starting from a simple torsion free 𝒢¯-module is almost always isomorphic to the lattice of submodules of an associated module formed as a quotient of a classical Verma module by a sum of Verma submodules. In particular, it is shown that the Mathieu admissible Verma modules involved have maximal submodules which are the sum of Verma modules.  相似文献

Let S = 𝕂[x 1, …, x n ] be a polynomial ring over a field 𝕂 and I a monomial ideal of S. It is well known that the Poincaré series of 𝕂 over S/I is rational. We describe the coefficients of the denominator of the series and study the multigraded homotopy Lie algebra of S/I.  相似文献

Abstract

For each adjoint functor U: A → X where X is an (?, M)-category having enough ?-projectives, we construct an (?, M)-algebraic hull E: (A, U) → (Â, Û), i.e., (Â, Û) is (epsiv; M)-algebraic and E has a certain denseness property. We show that there is a conglomerate of functors over X with respect to which the (? M)-algebraic categories are exactly the injective objects and characterize (? Denote by 𝒯n and 𝒮n the full transformation semigroup and the symmetric group on the set {1,…, n}, and ?n = {1} ∪ (𝒯n?𝒮n). Let 𝒯(X, 𝒫) denote the monoid of all transformations of the finite set X preserving a uniform partition 𝒫 of X into m subsets of size n, where m, n ≥ 2. We enumerate the idempotents of 𝒯(X, 𝒫), and describe the submonoid S = ? E ? generated by the idempotents E = E(𝒯(X, 𝒫)). We show that S = S1S2, where S1 is a direct product of m copies of ?n, and S2 is a wreath product of 𝒯n with 𝒯m?𝒮m. We calculate the rank and idempotent rank of S, showing that these are equal, and we also classify and enumerate all the idempotent generating sets of minimal size. In doing so, we also obtain new results about arbitrary idempotent generating sets of ?n.  相似文献

Generalizing the notion of Galois corings, Galois comodules were introduced as comodules P over an A-coring 𝒞 for which P A is finitely generated and projective and the evaluation map μ𝒞:Hom 𝒞 (P, 𝒞) ?  S P → 𝒞 is an isomorphism (of corings) where S = End 𝒞 (P). It has been observed that for such comodules the functors ? ?  A 𝒞 and Hom A (P, ?) ?  S P from the category of right A-modules to the category of right 𝒞-comodules are isomorphic. In this note we use this isomorphism related to a comodule P to define Galois comodules without requiring P A to be finitely generated and projective. This generalises the old notion with this name but we show that essential properties and relationships are maintained. Galois comodules are close to being generators and have common properties with tilting (co)modules. Some of our results also apply to generalised Hopf Galois (coalgebra Galois) extensions.  相似文献

Let (A, ?) be a structurable algebra. Then the opposite algebra (A op , ?) is structurable, and we show that the triple system B op A(x, y, z):=Vopx,y(z)=x(y¯z)+z(y¯x)?y(x¯z), x, y, z ∈ A, is a Kantor triple system (or generalized Jordan triple system of the second order) satisfying the condition (A). Furthermore, if A=𝔸1?𝔸2 denotes tensor products of composition algebras, (?) is the standard conjugation, and () denotes a certain pseudoconjugation on A, we show that the triple systems B op 𝔸1?𝔸2 ( x , y¯, z) are models of compact Kantor triple systems. Moreover these triple systems are simple if (dim𝔸1, dim𝔸2) ≠ (2, 2). In addition, we obtain an explicit formula for the canonical trace form for compact Kantor triple systems defined on tensor products of composition algebras.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Baez and Birman introduced the singular braid monoid on n + 1 strings, 𝒮B n+1, which Birman uses in understanding knot invariants. 𝒮? n+1 is the type A n case of an infinite class of monoids known as singular Artin monoids and denoted by 𝒮G M for a Coxeter matrix M. Birman conjectured, and Paris proved, that 𝒮B n+1 embeds in the complex algebra of the braid group under the desingularisation map or Vassiliev homomorphism, η. In effect, Birman's conjecture generalizes to arbitrary types since, as noted by Corran, the Vassiliev homomorphism from 𝒮G M to the algebra of the corresponding Artin group is well defined. We deduce general combinatorial results regarding divisibility in positive singular Artin monoids, and when M is of finite type, a well-defined positive form for 𝒮G M is produced. These facts are then invoked to infer that, when M is of finite type, η is injective on pairs of words such that a common multiple exists for their positive form.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper we study the possible torsion in even-dimensional higher class groups Cl 2n (Λ)(n ≥ 1) of an order Λ in a semisimple algebra A over a number field F with a ring of integers 𝒪 F . We show that for certain orders, called generalized Eichler orders, bip-torsion in Cl 2n (Λ) can only occur for primes p dividing prime ideals ? of 𝒪 F , at which Λ is not maximal. In particular, the results apply to Eichler orders in quaternion algebras and to hereditary orders.  相似文献

Let S be a semigroup and 𝔽 be a field. For an ideal J of the semigroup algebra 𝔽[S] of S over 𝔽, let ?J denote the restriction (to S) of the congruence on 𝔽[S] defined by the ideal J. A semigroup S is called a permutable semigroup if α ○ β = β ○ α is satisfied for all congruences α and β of S. In this paper we show that if S is a semilattice or a rectangular band then φ{S; 𝔽}J → ?J is a homomorphism of the semigroup (Con(𝔽[S]); ○ ) into the relation semigroup (?S; ○ ) if and only if S is a permutable semigroup.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let X be the surface 𝕋 × 𝕋, where 𝕋 is the complex torus. This article is the third in a series studying the fundamental group of the Galois cover of X with respect to a generic projection onto ??2.

Van Kampen Theorem gives a presentation of the fundamental group of the complement of the branch curve, with 54 generators and more than 2000 relations. Here we introduce a certain natural quotient (obtained by identifying pairs of generators), prove it is a quotient of a Coxeter group related to the degeneration of X, and show that this quotient is virtually nilpotent.
