Abstract

The notions of group coalgebra Galois extension and group entwining structure are defined. It is proved that any group coalgebra Galois extension induces a unique group-entwining map ψ = {ψα, β}α, β∈π compatible with the right group coaction, generalizing the recent work of Brzeziński and Hajac [Brzeziński, T., Hajac, P. We prove that a finite solvable group G admitting a Frobenius group FH of automorphisms of coprime order with kernel F and complement H such that [G, F] = G and C C G (F)(h) = 1 for all nonidentity elements h ∈ H, is of nilpotent length equal to the nilpotent length of the subgroup of fixed points of H.  相似文献

Flatness properties of acts over monoids and their connection with monoid amalgamation have been investigated for almost four decades and a substantial literature on the subject has now appeared. Analogous research, concerning the action of partially ordered monoids on partially ordered sets and its relation to pomonoid amalgamation, was begun in 1980s in two articles by S. M. Fakhruddin. The subject then remained dormant until the recent past when several articles on flatness in the setting of ordered monoids acting on posets (briefly, S-posets) appeared. It has now been established that the introduction of order results in severe restrictions as far as absolute flatness is concerned. Also, after formulating in the ordered context the Representation Extension and Right Congruence Extension Properties, first used by T. E. Hall to study semigroup amalgams, the authors recently observed in their article [4 Bulman-Fleming , S. , Nasir , S. ( 2010 ). Examples concerning absolute flatness and amalgamation in pomonoids . Semigroup Forum 80 : 272292 .[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]] that inverse monoids, though being amalgamation bases in the class of all monoids, may fail to possess this property when put in the ordered scenario. The purpose of the present article is to formulate an ordered version of the Strong Representation Extension Property of Hall and to explore its connections with absolute flatness and amalgamation of pomonoids. This enables us to prove that pogroups are (strong) amalgamation bases in the class of all pomonoids.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to determine the structure and to establish the isomorphic invariant of the finitely generated nilpotent group G of infinite cyclic commutator subgroup. Using the structure and invariant of the group which is the central extension of a cyclic group by a free abelian group of finite rank of infinite cyclic center, we provide a decomposition of G as the product of a generalized extraspecial Z-group and its center. By using techniques of lifting isomorphisms of abelian groups and equivalent normal form of the generalized extraspecial Z-groups, we finally obtain the structure and invariants of the group G.  相似文献

Here we find the structure of nilpotent Lie algebras L with dim(L′/L″) = 3 and L″ ≠ 0. Following the pattern of results of Csaba Schneider in p-groups, we show that L is the central direct sum of ideals H and U, where U is the direct sum of a generalized Heisenberg Lie algebra and an abelian Lie algebra. We then find over the complex numbers that H falls into one of fourteen isomorphism classes.  相似文献

In this article, the nilpotent orbits of the Witt algebra W 1 are determined under the automorphism group over an algebraically closed field F of characteristic p > 3. In contrast with a finite number of nilpotent orbits in a classical simple Lie algebra (cf. [5 Jantzen , J. C. ( 2003 ). Nilpotent orbits in representation theory . Progr. ABSTRACT

A (unital) extension R ? T of (commutative) rings is said to have FIP (respectively be a minimal extension) if there are only finitely many (respectively no) rings S such that R ? S ? T. Transfer results for the FIP property for extensions of Nagata rings are obtained, including the following fact: if R ? T is a (module-) finite minimal ring extension, then R(X)?T(X) also is a (module-) finite minimal ring extension. The assertion obtained by replacing “is a (module-) finite minimal ring extension” with “has FIP” is valid if R is an infinite field but invalid if R is a finite field. A generalization of the Primitive Element Theorem is obtained by characterizing, for any field (more generally, any artinian reduced ring) R, the ring extensions R ? T which have FIP; and, if R is any field K, by describing all possible structures of the (necessarily minimal) ring extensions appearing in any maximal chain of intermediate rings between K and any such T. Transfer of the FIP and “minimal extension” properties is given for certain pullbacks, with applications to constructions such as CPI-extensions. Various sufficient conditions are given for a ring extension of the form R ? R[u], with u a nilpotent element, to have or not have FIP. One such result states that if R is a residually finite integral domain that is not a field and u is a nilpotent element belonging to some ring extension of R, then R ? R[u] has FIP if and only if (0 : u) ≠ 0. The rings R having only finitely many unital subrings are studied, with complete characterizations being obtained in the following cases: char(R)>0; R an integral domain of characteristic 0; and R a (module-)finite extension of ? which is not an integral domain. In particular, a ring of the last-mentioned type has only finitely many unital subrings if and only if (?:R)≠0. Some results are also given for the residually FIP property.  相似文献

Determining the length of short conjugators in a group can be considered as an effective version of the conjugacy problem. The conjugacy length function provides a measure for these lengths. We study the behavior of conjugacy length functions under group extensions, introducing the twisted and restricted conjugacy length functions. We apply these results to show that certain abelian-by-cyclic groups have linear conjugacy length function and certain semidirect products ?d ? ?k have at most exponential (if k > 1) or linear (if k = 1) conjugacy length functions.  相似文献

In this article, we examine group-graded algebras R with color involution. If S is the symmetric elements and K the skew symmetric elements, it is shown that if S n  = 0 then R 3n  = 0, whereas if K n  = 0 then (R[R, R]ε R) n  = 0, where R[R, R]ε R is the ε-commutator ideal corresponding to a bicharacter ε. It is then shown that the bounds found for the degrees of nilpotence of R and R[R, R]ε R are best possible. We also examine the situation where R is graded by a finite group and only the identity component of either S or K is assumed to be nilpotent. We conclude by looking at some questions related to the Nagata-Higman theorem.  相似文献

For modular group algebras over an arbitrary field we define new type of blocks: blocks with nilpotent extensions, and describe their source algebras. To do it, a general pattern is proposed for relations between the source algebra of a block and the source algebra of a block appearing in its decomposition in a suitable extension of the field of coefficients.  相似文献

For a group G and a subgroup H of G, this article discusses the normalizer of H in the units of a group ring RG. We prove that H is only normalized by the “obvious” units, namely products of elements of G normalizing H and units of RG centralizing H, provided H is cyclic. Moreover, we show that the normalizers of all subgroups of certain nilpotent and metacyclic groups in the corresponding group rings are as small as possible. These classes contain all dihedral groups, all finite nilpotent groups, and all finite groups with all Sylow subgroups being cyclic.  相似文献

The nilpotent graph of a group G is a simple graph whose vertex set is G?nil(G), where nil(G) = {y ∈ G | ? x, y ? is nilpotent ? x ∈ G}, and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if ? x, y ? is nilpotent. In this article, we show that the collection of finite non-nilpotent groups whose nilpotent graphs have the same genus is finite, derive explicit formulas for the genus of the nilpotent graphs of some well-known classes of finite non-nilpotent groups, and determine all finite non-nilpotent groups whose nilpotent graphs are planar or toroidal.  相似文献

A near-identity nilpotent pseudogroup of order m 1 is a family f 1, . . . , f n : (-1, 1) of C 2 functions for which: for some small positive real number < 1/10 m+1 and commutators of the functions f i of order at least m equal the identity. We present a classification of near-identity nilpotent pseudogroups: our results are similar to those of Plante, Thurston, Farb and Franks.
