Ideals Generated by Diagonal 2-Minors

With a simple graph G on [n], we associate a binomial ideal P_G generated by diagonal minors of an n × n matrix X = (x_ij) of variables. We show that for any graph G, P_G is a prime complete intersection ideal and determine the divisor class group of K[X]/P_G. By using these ideals, one may find a normal domain with free divisor class group of any given rank.     

A Prime Ideal Principle for Two-Sided Ideals

Many classical ring-theoretic results state that an ideal that is maximal with respect to satisfying a special property must be prime. We present a “Prime Ideal Principle” that gives a uniform method of proving such facts, generalizing the Prime Ideal Principle for commutative rings due to T. Y. Lam and the author. Old and new “maximal implies prime” results are presented, with results touching on annihilator ideals, polynomial identity rings, the Artin–Rees property, Dedekind-finite rings, principal ideals generated by normal elements, strongly noetherian algebras, and just infinite algebras.     

Asymptotic Growth of Associated Primes of Certain Graph Ideals

We specify a class of graphs, H _t , and characterize the irreducible decompositions of all powers of the cover ideals. This gives insight into the structure and stabilization of the corresponding associated primes; specifically, providing an answer to the question “For each integer t ≥ 0, does there exist a (hyper) graph H _t such that stabilization of associated primes occurs at n ≥ (χ(H _t ) ?1) + t?” [4 Francisco , C. A. , Hà , H. T. , Van Tuyl , A. ( 2011 ). Colorings of hypergraphs, perfect graphs, and associated primes of powers of monomial ideals . J. Implicative Ideals and Fuzzy Implicative Ideals of a Distributive Implication Groupoid

We introduce the notions of implicative ideals and fuzzy implicative ideals of a distributive implication groupoid. Some properties of these ideals will be investigated. In particular, the necessary and sufficient conditions for an ideal (fuzzy ideal) to be an implicative ideal (fuzzy implicative ideal) is given. By using the concept of level sets, we will characterize the fuzzy implicative ideals of a distributive implication groupoid. Primitive Ideals and Automorphisms of Quantum Matrices

Let be a field and q be a nonzero element of that is not a root of unity. We give a criterion for 〈0〉 to be a primitive ideal of the algebra of quantum matrices. Next, we describe all height one primes of ; these two problems are actually interlinked since it turns out that 〈0〉 is a primitive ideal of whenever has only finitely many height one primes. Finally, we compute the automorphism group of in the case where m ≠ n. In order to do this, we first study the action of this group on the prime spectrum of . Then, by using the preferred basis of and PBW bases, we prove that the automorphism group of is isomorphic to the torus when m ≠ n and (m,n) ≠ (1, 3),(3, 1). Decompositions of Ideals of Minors Meeting a Submatrix

We compute the primary decomposition of certain ideals generated by subsets of minors in a generic matrix or in a generic symmetric matrix, or subsets of Pfaffians in a generic skew-symmetric matrix. Specifically, the ideals we consider are generated by minors that have at least some given number of rows and columns in certain submatrices.     

Semiprime Ideals and Separation Theorems for Posets

The concept of a semiprime ideal in a poset is introduced. The relations between the semiprime (prime) ideals of a poset and the ideals of the set of all ideals of the poset are established. A result analogous to Separation Theorem is obtained in respect of semiprime ideals. Further, a generalization of Stone’s Separation Theorem for posets is obtained in respect of prime ideals. Some counterexamples are also given.      

Integral Closures of Cohen-Macaulay Monomial Ideals

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to present a family of Cohen-Macaulay monomial ideals such that their integral closures have embedded components and hence are not Cohen-Macaulay.
