ABSTRACT

Let n be an integer greater than 1. A group G is said to be n-rewritable (or a Qn-group) if for every n elements x1, x2,…,xn in G there exist distinct permutations σ and τ in Sn such that xσ(1)xσ (2) ??? xσ(n) = xτ(1)xτ(2) ??? xτ(n). In this paper, we characterize all 3-rewritable nilpotent 2-groups of class 2. Also we have found a bound for the nilpotency class of certain nilpotent 3-rewritable groups, and have shown that 3-rewritable groups satisfy a certain law.  相似文献

Let $G$ be a finite group and $\mathfrak{c}(G)$ denote the number of cyclic subgroups of $G$. It is known that the minimal value of $\mathfrak{c}$ on the set of groups of order $n$, where $n$ is a positive integer, will occur at the cyclic group $Z_n$. In this paper, for non-cyclic nilpotent groups $G$ of order $n$, the lower bounds of $\mathfrak{c}(G)$ are established.  相似文献

In this paper, we study two classes of 2-generated 2-groups of nilpotency class 2 classified by Kluempen in 2002 and also a class of finite 2-groups of high nilpotency class for their Fibonacci lengths. Their involvement in certain interesting sequences of Tribonacci numbers gives us some explicit formulas for the Fibonacci lengths and this adds to the small class of finite groups for which the Fibonacci length are known.  相似文献

Let F be a relatively free algebra of infinite rank ?. We say that F has the small index property if any subgroup of Γ = Aut(F) of index at most ? contains the pointwise stabilizer Γ(U) of a subset U of F of cardinality less than ?. We prove that every infinitely generated free nilpotent/abelian group has the small index property, and discuss a number of applications.  相似文献

Let G be a non-abelian group and Z(G) be the center of G. The non-commuting graph Γ G associated to G is the graph whose vertex set is G?Z(G) and two distinct elements x, y are adjacent if and only if xy ≠ yx. We prove that if G and H are non-abelian nilpotent groups with irregular isomorphic non-commuting graphs, then |G| = |H|.  相似文献

The nilpotent graph of a group G is a simple graph whose vertex set is G?nil(G), where nil(G) = {y ∈ G | ? x, y ? is nilpotent ? x ∈ G}, and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if ? x, y ? is nilpotent. In this article, we show that the collection of finite non-nilpotent groups whose nilpotent graphs have the same genus is finite, derive explicit formulas for the genus of the nilpotent graphs of some well-known classes of finite non-nilpotent groups, and determine all finite non-nilpotent groups whose nilpotent graphs are planar or toroidal.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to determine the structure and to establish the isomorphic invariant of the finitely generated nilpotent group G of infinite cyclic commutator subgroup. Using the structure and invariant of the group which is the central extension of a cyclic group by a free abelian group of finite rank of infinite cyclic center, we provide a decomposition of G as the product of a generalized extraspecial Z-group and its center. By using techniques of lifting isomorphisms of abelian groups and equivalent normal form of the generalized extraspecial Z-groups, we finally obtain the structure and invariants of the group G.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the problem of classification of the nilpotent class 2 finitely generated torsion free groups up to geometric equivalence. By a very easy technique it is proved that this problem is equivalent to the problem of classification of the complete in the Maltsev sense nilpotent torsion free finite rank groups up to isomorphism. This result leads to better understanding of the complexity of the problem of the classification of the quasi-varieties of the nilpotent class 2 groups. It is well known that the variety of the nilpotent class s groups is Noetherian for every s ∈ ?. So the problem of the classification of the quasi-varieties generated even by a single nilpotent class 2 finitely generated torsion free group is equivalent to the problem of classification of the complete in the Maltsev sense nilpotent torsion free finite rank groups up to isomorphism.  相似文献

A subgroup of a group G is said to be Sylow-quasinormal (S-quasinormal) in G if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G. A subgroup H of a group G is said to be Supplement-Sylow-quasinormal (SS-quasinormal) in G if there is a supplement B of H to G such that H is permutable with every Sylow subgroup of B. In this article, we investigate the influence of SS-quasinormal of maximal or minimal subgroups of Sylow subgroups of the generalized Fitting subgroup of a finite group.  相似文献

In this article a class of subgroups of a finite group G, called Q-injectors, is introduced. If G is soluble, the Q-injectors are precisely the injectors of the Fitting sets. A characterization of nilpotent Q-injectors is given as well as a sufficient condition for the solubility of a finite group G, in terms of Q-injectors, which generalizes a well known result.  相似文献

The parameter coclass has been used successfully in the study of nilpotent algebraic objects of different kinds. In this article a definition of coclass for nilpotent semigroups is introduced and semigroups of coclass 0, 1, and 2 are classified. Presentations for all such semigroups and formulae for their numbers are obtained. The classification is provided up to isomorphism as well as up to isomorphism or anti-isomorphism. It follows from classical results of Neumann and Macdonald that a group G has finite commuator subgroup if and only if either the normalizers of cyclic subgroups of G have boundedly finite indices or cyclic subgroups of G have bounded indices in their normal closures.
