The reactivity of cobalt(II) salts towards H(3)L (2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-bis[4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-azabut-3-enyl]-1,3-imidazolidine) was studied in different reaction conditions. Accordingly, the interaction of cobalt(II) acetate with H(3)L in methanol gives rise to the discrete complex [Co(III)(2)L(OAc)(2)(OMe)]*1.5H(2)O.MeOH, 1. Reaction of cobalt(II) acetylacetonate with H(3)L in the presence of dicarboxylic acids was also investigated. Thus, when cobalt(II) acetylacetonate and H(3)L are mixed with terephthalic or malonic acid in 4 : 2 : 1 molar ratios, the mixed valent [Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(p-O(2)CC(6)H(4)CO(2)H)][Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(OH)]*2H(2)O*2MeOH, 2 and [Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2)H)][Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(OH)]*7H(2)O, complexes are isolated. Decreasing the pH of the medium, by addition of a second mol of dicarboxylic acid, leads to [Co(II/III)(2)L(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2))(MeOH)]*2MeOH, 4, while the reaction with terephthalic acid does not proceed. 1, 2 and 4 were crystallographically characterised and all the complexes are dinuclear, with hydrogen bonds that expand the initial nodes. The magnetic characterisation, as well as the NMR spectroscopy, indicates a diamagnetic nature for 1, in agreement with the presence of Co(III), showing the aerial oxidation suffered by the cobalt(II) ions. Nevertheless, are paramagnetic. Temperature variable magnetic measurements were recorded for the crystallographically characterised complexes 2 and 4 and these studies confirm the mixed valence Co(II)/Co(III) nature of the compounds. The best fits of the magnetic data give an axial distortion parameter Delta = 628.7 cm(-1) for 2 and 698.8 cm(-1) for 4, and spin-orbit coupling constant lambda = -117.8 cm(-1) for 2 and -107.0 cm(-1) for 4. Therefore, this study shows that the oxidation degree of the initial cobalt(ii) salt by atmospheric oxygen can be controlled according to the pH of the medium.  相似文献

A new layered molybdenum cobalt phosphate, Na(2)[Co(H(2)O)(6)][(Mo(16)O(32))Co(16)(PO(4))(4) (HPO(4))(16)(H(2)PO(4))(4)(OH)(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)(C(5)H(4)N)(2)(H(2)O)(6)]·4H(2)O (1), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n with a = 15.6825(18) ?, b = 39.503(4) ?, c = 17.2763(17) ?, β = 93.791(2)°, V = 10679.4(18) ?(3), and Z = 2. A polyoxoanion of 1 exhibits an unusual organic-inorganic hybrid wheel-type cluster, in which two pyridine ligands link to the surface Co(II) atoms of a [H(24)(Mo(16)O(32))Co(16)(PO(4))(24)(OH)(4)(H(2)O)(6)] (namely, {Mo(16)Co(16)P(24)}) wheel via the Co-N bonds. Furthermore, each {Mo(16)Co(16)P(24)} wheel is connected to four adjacent wheels by four pairs of 4,4'-bipyridine linkers, forming a 2D layered network. The susceptibility measurement shows the existence of dominant antiferromagnetic interactions in 1.  相似文献

The synthesis and magnetic properties of 13 new homo- and heterometallic Co(II) complexes containing the artificial amino acid 2-amino-isobutyric acid, aibH, are reported: [Co(II)(4)(aib)(3)(aibH)(3)(NO(3))](NO(3))(4)·2.8CH(3)OH·0.2H(2)O (1·2.8CH(3)OH·0.2H(2)O), {Na(2)[Co(II)(2)(aib)(2)(N(3))(4)(CH(3)OH)(4)]}(n) (2), [Co(II)(6)La(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2)(H(2)O)(4)(CH(3)CN)(2)]·0.5[La(NO(3))(6)]·0.75(ClO(4))·1.75(NO(3))·3.2CH(3)CN·5.9H(2)O (3·3.2CH(3)CN·5.9H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Pr(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·[Pr(NO(3))(5)]·0.41[Pr(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(1.5)]·0.59[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.2(ClO(4))·0.25H(2)O (4·0.25H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Nd(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2.8)(CH(3)OH)(4.7)(H(2)O)(1.5)]·2.7(ClO(4))·0.5(NO(3))·2.26CH(3)OH·0.24H(2)O (5·2.26CH(3)OH·0.24H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Sm(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·[Sm(NO(3))(5)]·0.44[Sm(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(1.5)]·0.56[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.22(ClO(4))·0.3H(2)O (6·0.3H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Eu(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)OH)(4.87)(H(2)O)(1.13)](ClO(4))(2.5)(NO(3))(0.5)·2.43CH(3)OH·0.92H(2)O (7·2.43CH(3)OH·0.92H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Gd(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2.9)(CH(3)OH)(4.9)(H(2)O)(1.2)]·2.6(ClO(4))·0.5(NO(3))·2.58CH(3)OH·0.47H(2)O (8·2.58CH(3)OH·0.47H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Tb(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·[Tb(NO(3))(5)]·0.034[Tb(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(0.5)]·0.656[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.343(ClO(4))·0.3H(2)O (9·0.3H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Dy(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2.9)(CH(3)OH)(4.92)(H(2)O)(1.18)](ClO(4))(2.6)(NO(3))(0.5)·2.5CH(3)OH·0.5H(2)O (10·2.5CH(3)OH·0.5H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Ho(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·0.27[Ho(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.35)(H(2)O)(0.15)]·0.656[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.171(ClO(4)) (11), [Co(II)(6)Er(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(4)(NO(3))(2)(CH(3)CN)(2.5)(H(2)O)(3.5)](ClO(4))(3)·CH(3)CN·0.75H(2)O (12·CH(3)CN·0.75H(2)O), and [Co(II)(6)Tm(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)(6)]·1.48(ClO(4))·1.52(NO(3))·3H(2)O (13·3H(2)O). Complex 1 describes a distorted tetrahedral metallic cluster, while complex 2 can be considered to be a 2-D coordination polymer. Complexes 3-13 can all be regarded as metallo-cryptand encapsulated lanthanides in which the central lanthanide ion is captivated within a [Co(II)(6)] trigonal prism. dc and ac magnetic susceptibility studies have been carried out in the 2-300 K range for complexes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, and 13, revealing the possibility of single molecule magnetism behavior for complex 10.  相似文献

The 15-cobalt-substituted polyoxotungstate [Co(6)(H(2)O)(30){Co(9)Cl(2)(OH)(3)(H(2)O)(9)(beta-SiW(8)O(31))(3)}](5-) (1) has been characterized by single-crystal XRD, elemental analysis, IR, electrochemistry, magnetic measurements, and EPR. Single-crystal X-ray analysis was carried out on Na(5)[Co(6)(H(2)O)(30){Co(9)Cl(2)(OH)(3)(H(2)O)(9)(beta-SiW(8)O(31))(3)}].37H(2)O, which crystallizes in the hexagonal system, space group P6(3)/m, with a = 19.8754(17) A, b = 19.8754(17) A, c = 22.344(4) A, alpha= 90 degrees, beta = 90 degrees, gamma = 120 degrees, and Z = 2. The trimeric polyanion 1 has a core of nine Co(II) ions encapsulated by three unprecedented (beta-SiW(8)O(31)) fragments and two Cl(-) ligands. This central assembly {Co(9)Cl(2)(OH)(3)(H(2)O)(9)(beta-SiW(8)O(31))(3)}(17-) is surrounded by six antenna-like Co(II)(H(2)O)(5) groups resulting in the satellite-like structure 1. Synthesis of 1 is accomplished in a simple one-pot procedure by interaction of Co(II) ions with [gamma-SiW(10)O(36)](8-) in aqueous, acidic NaCl medium (pH 5.4). Polyanion 1 was studied by cyclic voltammetry as a function of pH. The current intensity of its Co(II) centers was compared with that of free Co(II) in solution. Our results suggest that 1 keeps its integrity in solution. Magnetic susceptibility results show the presence of both antiferro- and ferromagnetic coupling within the (Co(II))(9) core. A fully anisotropic Ising model has been employed to describe the exchange-coupling and yields g = 2.42 +/- 0.01, J(1) = 17.0 +/- 1.5 cm(-1), and J(2) = -13 +/- 1 cm(-(1). Variable frequency EPR studies reveal an anisotropic Kramer's doublet.  相似文献

The hydrothermal chemistry of a variety of M(II)SO(4) salts with the tetrazole (Ht) ligands 5,5'-(1,4-phenylene)bis(1H-tetrazole) (H(2)bdt), 5',5'-(1,1'-biphenyl)4,4'-diylbis(1H-tetrazole) (H(2)dbdt) and 5,5',5'-(1,3,5-phenylene)tris(1H-tetrazole) (H(3)btt) was investigated. In the case of Co(II), three phases were isolated, two of which incorporated sulfate: [Co(5)F(2)(dbdt)(4)(H(2)O)(6)]·2H(2)O (1·2H(2)O), [Co(4)(OH)(2)(SO(4))(bdt)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] (2) and [Co(3)(OH)(SO(4))(btt)(H(2)O)(4)]·3H(2)O (3·3H(2)O). The structures are three-dimensional and consist of cluster-based secondary building units: the pentanuclear {Co(5)F(2)(tetrazolate)(8)(H(2)O)(6)}, the tetranuclear {Co(4)(OH)(2)(SO(4))(2)(tetrazolate)(6)}(4-), and the trinuclear {Co(3)(μ(3)-OH)(SO(4))(2) (tetrazolate)(3)}(2-) for 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The Ni(II) analogue [Ni(2)(H(0.67)bdt)(3)]·10.5H(2)O (4·10.5H(2)O) is isomorphous with a fourth cobalt phase, the previously reported [Co(2)(H(0.67)bat)(3)]·20H(2)O and exhibits a {M(tetrazolate)(3/2)}(∞) chain as the fundamental building block. The dense three-dimensional structure of [Zn(bdt)] (5) consists of {ZnN(4)}tetrahedra linked through bdt ligands bonding through N1,N3 donors at either tetrazolate terminus. In contrast to the hydrothermal synthesis of 1-5, the Cd(II) material (Me(2)NH(2))(3)[Cd(12)Cl(3)(btt)(8)(DMF)(12)]·xDMF·yMeOH (DMF = dimethylformamide; x = ca. 12, y = ca. 5) was prepared in DMF/methanol. The structure is constructed from the linking of {Cd(4)Cl(tetrazolate)(8)(DMF)(4)}(1-) secondary building units to produce an open-framework material exhibiting 66.5% void volume. The magnetic properties of the Co(II) series are reflective of the structural building units.  相似文献

The reaction of [Mn(3)O(O(2)CMe)(6)(py)(3)](ClO(4)) (1; 3Mn(III)) with [Mn(10)O(4)(OH)(2)(O(2)CMe)(8)(hmp)(8)](ClO(4))(4) (2; 10Mn(III)) in MeCN affords the new mixed-valent complex [Mn(21)O(14)(OH)(2)(O(2)CMe)(16)(hmp)(8)(pic)(2)(py)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))(4) (3; 3Mn(II)-18Mn(III); hmp(-) is the anion of 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine), with an average Mn oxidation state of +2.85. Complex 3.7MeCN crystallizes in the triclinic space group P. The structure consists of a low symmetry [Mn(21)(micro(4)-O)(4)(micro(3)-O)(12)(micro-O)(16)] core, with peripheral ligation provided by 16 MeCO(2)(-), 8 hmp(-), and 2 pic(-) groups and one molecule each of water and pyridine. The magnetic properties of 3 were investigated by both dc and ac magnetic susceptibility measurements. Fitting of dc magnetization data collected in the 0.1-0.8 T and 1.8-4.0 K ranges gave S = (17)/(2), D approximately -0.086 cm(-)(1), and g approximately 1.8, where S is the molecular spin of the Mn(21) complex and D is the axial zero-field splitting parameter. ac susceptibility studies in the 10-997 Hz frequency range reveal the presence of a frequency-dependent out-of-phase ac magnetic susceptibility (chi(M)' ') signal consistent with slow magnetization relaxation rates. Fitting of dc magnetization decay versus time data to the Arrhenius equation gave a value of the effective barrier to relaxation (U(eff)) of 13.2 K. Magnetization versus applied dc field sweeps exhibited hysteresis. Thus, complex 3 is a new member of the small but growing family of single-molecule magnets.  相似文献

The synthesis and magnetic properties are reported of two new clusters [Mn(10)O(4)(OH)(2)(O(2)CMe)(8)(hmp)(8)](ClO(4))(4) (1) and [Mn(7)(OH)(3)(hmp)(9)Cl(3)](Cl)(ClO(4)) (2). Complex 1 was prepared by treatment of [Mn(3)O(O(2)CMe)(6)(py)(3)](ClO(4)) with 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine (hmpH) in CH(2)Cl(2), whereas 2 was obtained from the reaction of MnCl(2).4H(2)O, hmpH, and NBu(n)(4)MnO(4) in MeCN followed by recrystallization in the presence of NBu(n)(4)ClO(4). Complex 1.2py.10CH(2)Cl(2).2H(2)O crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1. The cation consists of 10 Mn(III) ions, 8 mu(3)-O(2)(-) ions, 2 mu(3)-OH(-) ions, 8 bridging acetates, and 8 bridging and chelating hmp(-) ligands. The hmp(-) ligands bridge through their O atoms in two ways: two with mu(3)-O atoms and six with mu(2)-O atoms. Complex 2.3CH(2)Cl(2).H(2)O crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1. The cation consists of four Mn(II) and three Mn(III) ions, arranged as a Mn(6) hexagon of alternating Mn(II) and Mn(III) ions surrounding a central Mn(II) ion. The remaining ligation is by three mu(3)-OH(-) ions, three terminal chloride ions, and nine bridging and chelating hmp(-) ligands. Six hmp(-) ligands contain mu(2)-O atoms and three contain mu(3)-O atoms. The Cl(-) anion is hydrogen-bonded to the three mu(3)-OH(-) ions. Variable-temperature direct current (dc) magnetic susceptibility data were collected for complex 1 in the 5.00-300 K range in a 5 kG applied field. The chi(M)T value gradually decreases from 17.87 cm(3) mol(-1) K at 300 K to 1.14 cm(3) mol(-1) K at 5.00 K, indicating an S = 0 ground state. The ground-state spin of complex 2 was established by magnetization measurements in the 0.5-3.0 T and 1.80-4.00 K ranges. Fitting of the data by matrix diagonalization, incorporating only axial anisotropy (DS(z)(2)), gave equally good fits with S = 10, g = 2.13, D = -0.14 cm(-1) and S = 11, g = 1.94, D = -0.11 cm(-1). Magnetization versus dc field scans down to 0.04 K reveal no hysteresis attributable to single-molecule magnetism behavior, only weak intermolecular interactions.  相似文献

Multifrequency electron paramagnetic resonace (EPR) spectroscopy and electronic structure calculations were performed on [Co(4)O(4)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)(CH(3)CO(2))(4)](+) (1(+)), a cobalt tetramer with total electron spin S = 1/2 and formal cobalt oxidation states III, III, III, and IV. The cuboidal arrangement of its cobalt and oxygen atoms is similar to that of proposed structures for the molecular cobaltate clusters of the cobalt-phosphate (Co-Pi) water-oxidizing catalyst. The Davies electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) spectrum is well-modeled using a single class of hyperfine-coupled (59)Co nuclei with a modestly strong interaction (principal elements of the hyperfine tensor are equal to [-20(±2), 77(±1), -5(±15)] MHz). Mims (1)H ENDOR spectra of 1(+) with selectively deuterated pyridine ligands confirm that the amount of unpaired spin on the cobalt-bonding partner is significantly reduced from unity. Multifrequency (14)N ESEEM spectra (acquired at 9.5 and 34.0 GHz) indicate that four nearly equivalent nitrogen nuclei are coupled to the electron spin. Cumulatively, our EPR spectroscopic findings indicate that the unpaired spin is delocalized almost equally across the eight core atoms, a finding corroborated by results from DFT calculations. Each octahedrally coordinated cobalt ion is forced into a low-spin electron configuration by the anionic oxo and carboxylato ligands, and a fractional electron hole is localized on each metal center in a Co 3d(xz,yz)-based molecular orbital for this essentially [Co(+3.125)(4)O(4)] system. Comparing the EPR spectrum of 1(+) with that of the catalyst film allows us to draw conclusions about the electronic structure of this water-oxidation catalyst.  相似文献

We investigated the reactions between cobalt-oxides and water molecules using photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional calculations. It has been confirmed by both experimental observation and theoretical calculations that dihydroxide anions, Co(m)(OH)(2)(-) (m = 1-3), were formed when Co(m)O(-) clusters interact with the first water molecule. Addition of more water molecules produced solvated dihydroxide anions, Co(m)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)(n)(-) (m = 1-3). Hydrated dihydroxide anions, Co(m)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)(n)(-), are more stable than their corresponding hydrated metal-oxide anions, Co(m)O(H(2)O)(n+1)(-).  相似文献

Two novel three-dimensional (3D) extended vanadogermanate-based frameworks, [Co(pdn)(2)](3)[Co(2)(pdn)(4)][V(16)Ge(4)O(44)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)]·5H(2)O (1), [Co(2)(en)(3)][Co(en)(2)](2)[Co(en)(2)(H(2)O)][V(16)Ge(4)O(44)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)]·10.5H(2)O (2), (pdn = 1,2-propanediamine, en = ethylenediamine) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions via changing the organic amine. X-ray crystal structure analyses reveal that both frameworks are built of [V(16)Ge(4)O(44)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)](10-) anions and different Co-amine cations. They represent the first example of incorporating elemental Co into the extended vanadogermanate frameworks. Compound 1 shows a 3D framework with NaCl topology based on {V(16)Ge(4)} clusters as nodes, while compound 2 exhibits a 3D (4,6)-connected network with a Schl?fli symbol of (4(6)·6(7)·8(2))(2)(4(2)·6(4)), which is found for the first time in polyoxovanadate chemistry. The diverse types of metal-organoamine subunits play critical roles in the formation on the final structures. Furthermore, variable temperature susceptibility measurements on compounds 1 and 2 demonstrate the presence of anticipated rare ferrimagnetic behavior.  相似文献

The outer-sphere oxidation of Fe(II) in the mixed-valence complex trans-[L(14S)Co(III)NCFe(II)(CN)(6)](-), being L(14S) an N(3)S(2) macrocylic donor set on the cobalt(III) center, has been studied. The comparison with the known processes of N(5) macrocycle complexes has been carried out in view of the important differences occurring on the redox potential of the cobalt center. The results indicate that the outer-sphere oxidation reactions with S(2)O(8)(2-) and [Co(ox)(3)](3-) involve a great amount of solvent-assisted hydrogen bonding that, as a consequence from the change from two amines to sulfur donors, are more restricted. This is shown by the more positive values found for DeltaS(#) and DeltaV(#). The X-ray structure of the oxidized complex has been determined, and it is clearly indicative of the above-mentioned solvent-assisted hydrogen bonding between nitrogen and cyanide donors on the cobalt and iron centers, respectively. trans-[L(14S)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], as well as the analogous N(5) systems trans-[L(14)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], trans-[L(15)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], and cis-[L(13)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], oxidize water to hydrogen peroxide at pH > 10 with a rather simple stoichiometry, i.e., [L(n)()Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(5)] + OH(-) --> [L(n)()Co(III)NCFe(II)(CN)(5)](-) + (1)/(2)H(2)O(2). In this way, the reversibility of the iron oxidation process is achieved. The determination of kinetic and thermal and pressure activation parameters for this water to hydrogen peroxide oxidation leads to the kinetic determination of a cyanide based OH(-) adduct of the complex. A second-order dependence on the base concentration is associated with deprotonation of this adduct to produce the final inner-sphere reduction process. The activation enthalpies are found to be extremely low (15 to 35 kJ mol(-1)) and responsible for the very fast reaction observed. The values of DeltaS(#) and DeltaV(#) (-76 to -113 J K(-1) mol(-1) and -5.5 to -8.9 cm(3) mol(-1), respectively) indicate a highly organized but not very compressed transition state in agreement with the inner-sphere one-electron transfer from O(2-) to Fe(III).  相似文献

Nitrile hydratases (NHases) are thiolate-ligated Fe(III)- or Co(III)-containing enzymes, which convert nitriles to the corresponding amide under mild conditions. Proposed NHase mechanisms involve M(III)-NCR, M(III)-OH, M(III)-iminol, and M(III)-amide intermediates. There have been no reported crystallographically characterized examples of these key intermediates. Spectroscopic and kinetic data support the involvement of a M(III)-NCR intermediate. A H-bonding network facilitates this enzymatic reaction. Herein we describe two biomimetic Co(III)-NHase analogues that hydrate MeCN, and four crystallographically characterized NHase intermediate analogues, [Co(III)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))(MeCN)](2+) (1), [Co(III)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))(OH)](+) (3), [Co(III)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))(NHC(O)CH(3))](+) (2), and [Co(III)(O(Me2)N(4)(tren))(NHC(OH)CH(3))](2+) (5). Iminol-bound 5 represents the first example of a Co(III)-iminol compound in any ligand environment. Kinetic parameters (k(1)(298 K) = 2.98(5) M(-1) s(-1), ΔH(?) = 12.65(3) kcal/mol, ΔS(?) = -14(7) e.u.) for nitrile hydration by 1 are reported, and the activation energy E(a) = 13.2 kcal/mol is compared with that (E(a) = 5.5 kcal/mol) of the NHase enzyme. A mechanism involving initial exchange of the bound MeCN for OH- is ruled out by the fact that nitrile exchange from 1 (k(ex)(300 K) = 7.3(1) × 10(-3) s(-1)) is 2 orders of magnitude slower than nitrile hydration, and that hydroxide bound 3 does not promote nitrile hydration. Reactivity of an analogue that incorporates an alkoxide as a mimic of the highly conserved NHase serine residue shows that this moiety facilitates nitrile hydration under milder conditions. Hydrogen-bonding to the alkoxide stabilizes a Co(III)-iminol intermediate. Comparison of the thiolate versus alkoxide intermediate structures shows that C≡N bond activation and C═O bond formation proceed further along the reaction coordinate when a thiolate is incorporated into the coordination sphere.  相似文献

The new phenol-imidazole pro-ligands (R)LH react with Co(BF(4))(2).6H(2)O in the presence of Et(3)N to form the corresponding [Co(II)((R)L)(2)] compound (R = Ph (1), PhOMe (2), or Bz (3)). Also, (Bz)LH, reacts with Co(ii) in the presence of Et(3)N and H(2)O(2) to form [Co(III)((Bz)L)(3)](4). The structures of 1.2.5MeCN, 2.2DMF, 3.4MeOH, and 4.4DMF have been determined by X-ray crystallography. 1, 2, and 3 each involve Co(II) bound to two N,O-bidentate ligands with a distorted tetrahedral coordination sphere; 4 involves Co(III) bound to three N,O-bidentate ligands in a mer-N(3)O(3) distorted octahedral geometry. [Co(II)((R)L)(2)](R = Ph or PhOMe) undergo two, one-electron, oxidations. The products of the first oxidation, [1](+) and [2](+), have been synthesised by the chemical oxidation of 1 and 2, respectively; these cations, formulated as [Co(II)((R)L*)((R)L)(2)](+), comprise one phenoxyl radical and one phenolate ligand bound to Co(II) and are the first phenoxyl radical ligand complexes of tetra-coordinated Co(II). 4 undergoes two, one-electron, ligand-based oxidations, the first of which produces [4](+), [Co(III)((Bz)L*)((Bz)L)(2)](+). Unlike [1](+) and [2](+), product of the one-electron oxidation of [Co(II)((Bz)L)(2)], [3](+), is unstable and decomposes to produce [4](+). These studies have demonstrated that the chemical properties of [M(II)((R)L*)((R)L)(2)](+)(M = Co, Cu, Zn) are highly dependent on the nature of both the ligand and the metal centre.  相似文献

Nanospheric hydroxo-bridged clusters of [M(20)(OH)(12)(maleate)(12)(Me(2)NH)(12)](BF(4))(3)(OH)·nH(2)O (M = Co (1), Ni (2)) with O(h) symmetry were afforded under hydrothermal condition with Co(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O/Ni(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O and fumaric acid in a DMF/EtOH mixed solvent. They are characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and X-ray diffraction. X-ray single crystal diffraction analyses show that these two complexes are isostructural containing an ideally cubic M(8) core in that each two M atoms are doubly bridged at the edges by one OH(-) and one maleate, while these OH(-) and maleate groups are coordinated further by exterior identical 12 M atoms which construct a perfect M(12) icosahedron to encapsulate the cubic core. To our knowledge, such large clusters with O(h) symmetry are seldom. The three novel heterometallic complexes [CuCo(III)Co(II)(2)(MeDea)(3)Cl(3)(CH(3)OH)(0.55)(H(2)O)(0.45)](H(2)O)(0.45) (1), [CuCo(III)Zn(2)(MeDea)(3)Cl(3)(CH(3)OH)(0.74)(H(2)O)(0.26)](H(2)O)(0.26) (2), and [CuCo(III)Zn(2)(MeDea)(3)Cl(3)(DMF)] (3) have been prepared using a one-pot reaction of copper powder with cobalt chloride (1) and zinc nitrate (2, 3) in a methanol (1, 2) or dimethylformamide (3) solution of N-methyldiethanolamine. A search of the Cambridge Structural Database shows that the tetranuclear asymmetric cores M(4)(μ(3)-X)(μ-X)(5) of 1-3 represent an extremely rare case of M(4)X(6) arrays. The magnetic investigations of 1 disclose antiferromagnetic coupling in a Co(II)-Cu(II)-Co(II) exchange fragment with J(Co-Cu)/hc = -4.76 cm(-1), J(Co-Co)/hc = -2.76 cm(-1), and D(Co)/hc = +34.3 cm(-1). Compounds 1-3 act as precursors for the mild peroxidative oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone with overall yields up to 23%. The synthetic and structural features as well as the thermogravimetric behavior and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry data are discussed.  相似文献

Divalent manganese, cobalt, nickel, and zinc complexes of 6-Ph(2)TPA (N,N-bis((6-phenyl-2-pyridyl)methyl)-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)amine; [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Mn(CH(3)OH)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1), [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Co(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (2), [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Ni(CH(3)CN)(CH(3)OH)](ClO(4))(2) (3), [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Zn(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (4)) and 6-(Me(2)Ph)(2)TPA (N,N-bis((6-(3,5-dimethyl)phenyl-2-pyridyl)methyl)-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)amine; [(6-(Me(2)Ph)(2)TPA)Ni(CH(3)CN)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (5) and [(6-(Me(2)Ph)(2)TPA)Zn(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (6)) have been prepared and characterized. X-ray crystallographic characterization of 1A.CH(3)()OH and 1B.2CH(3)()OH (differing solvates of 1), 2.2CH(3)()CN, 3.CH(3)()OH, 4.2CH(3)()CN, and 6.2.5CH(3)()CN revealed mononuclear cations with one to three coordinated solvent molecules. In 1A.CH(3)()OH and 1B.2CH(3)()OH, one phenyl-substituted pyridyl arm is not coordinated and forms a secondary hydrogen-bonding interaction with a manganese bound methanol molecule. In 2.2CH(3)()CN, 3.CH(3)()OH, 4.2CH(3)()CN, and 6.2.5CH(3)()CN, all pyridyl donors of the 6-Ph(2)TPA and 6-(Me(2)Ph)(2)TPA ligands are coordinated to the divalent metal center. In the cobalt, nickel, and zinc derivatives, CH/pi interactions are found between a bound acetonitrile molecule and the aryl appendages of the 6-Ph(2)TPA and 6-(Me(2)Ph)(2)TPA ligands. (1)H NMR spectra of 4 and 6 in CD(3)NO(2) solution indicate the presence of CH/pi interactions, as an upfield-shifted methyl resonance for a bound acetonitrile molecule is present. Examination of the cyclic voltammetry of 1-3 and 5 revealed no oxidative (M(II)/M(III)) couples. Admixture of equimolar amounts of 6-Ph(2)TPA, M(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O, and Me(4)NOH.5H(2)O, followed by the addition of an equimolar amount of acetohydroxamic acid, yielded the acetohydroxamate complexes [((6-Ph(2)TPA)Mn)(2)(micro-ONHC(O)CH(3))(2)](ClO(4))(2) (8), [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Co(ONHC(O)CH(3))](ClO(4))(2) (9), [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Ni(ONHC(O)CH(3))](ClO(4))(2) (10), and [(6-Ph(2)TPA)Zn(ONHC(O)CH(3))](ClO(4))(2) (11), all of which were characterized by X-ray crystallography. The Mn(II) complex 8.0.75CH(3)()CN.0.75Et(2)()O exhibits a dinuclear structure with bridging hydroxamate ligands, whereas the Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) derivatives all exhibit mononuclear six-coordinate structures with a chelating hydroxamate ligand.  相似文献

The title compound, Co(L)2(CH3OH)2Cl2 (L = 3-(1,2,4-triazole-yl)-6-chloro-pyridazine) 1, has been synthesized and its crystal structure has been determined by X-ray analysis. Complex 1 crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 6.018(3), b = 9.832(5), c = 9.921(5)A, a = 78.270(8), β = 74.550(8), γ = 83.807(8)°, V = 553.1(5)A^3, Z = 1, C14H16Cl4CoN10O2, Mr = 557.10, Dc = 1.673 g/cm^3, F(000) = 281,μ(MoKα) = 1.293 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0453 and wR = 0.1181 for 1539 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). The Co(II) ion is in a distorted centrosymmetric six-coordinate octahedral environment with two Ntriazole, two Omethanol and two Cl atoms. Via hydrogen bonds the configuration of 1 has been extended into 1D chains which are developed to 2D layers via π-π sticking action, and these layers are further extended into a 3D network by hydrogen bonds. The antibacterial activity of the title compound has been detected, and the results show that the ligands and cobalt(II) complex exhibit certain fungicidal activity against several bacteria. Furthermore, the spectral properties of the title compound have been also studied and discussed.  相似文献

We report a Rietveld refinement analysis and X-ray absorption study on a green-color Cl(-)-intercalated alpha-type cobalt hydroxide phase. The refinement clearly demonstrated that one-fifth to one-sixth of the Co(II) at octahedral sites was replaced by pairs of tetrahedrally coordinated Co(II) on each side of the hydroxide plane, represented by a structural formula of [Co(octa)(0.828)Co(tetra)(0.348)(OH)2](0.348+)Cl(0.348).0.456H2O. X-ray absorption spectroscopy also indicated that the divalent cobalt were in local neighboring environments of both octahedral and tetrahedral coordination. Furthermore, UV-vis spectroscopic measurements elucidate the typical green/blue color of an alpha-type cobalt hydroxide.  相似文献

The influence of the nature of alkali metal cations on the structure of the species obtained from the trivacant precursor A-alpha-[SiW(9)O(34)](10-) has been studied. Starting from the potassium salt 1, K(10)A-alpha-[SiW(9)O(34)].24H(2)O, the sandwich-type complex 2, K(10.75)[Co(H(2)O)(6)](0.5)[Co(H(2)O)(4)Cl](0.25)A-alpha-[K(2)(Co(H(2)O)(2))(3)(SiW(9)O(34) )(2)].32H(2)O, has been obtained. The crystal structures of these two compounds consist of two A-alpha-[SiW(9)O(34)](10-) anions linked by a set of potassium (1) or cobalt plus potassium cations (2), and the relative orientation of the two half-anions is the same. Attempts to link two A-alpha-[SiW(9)O(34)](10-) anions by tungsten atoms instead of cobalt failed whatever the alkali metal cation. Moreover, the nondisordered structure of Cs(15)[K(SiW(11)O(39))(2)].39H(2)O is described. Two [SiW(11)O(39)](8-) anions are linked through a potassium cation with a "trans-oid" conformation, and the potassium occupies a cubic coordination site.  相似文献

In acidic aqueous solution, a cobalt(III) complex containing monodentate N(9)-bound adeninate (ade(-)), cis-[Co(ade-kappaN(9))Cl(en)(2)]Cl (cis-[1]Cl), underwent protonation to the adeninate moiety without geometrical isomerization or decomposition of the Co(III) coordination sphere, and complexes of cis-[CoCl(Hade)(en)(2)]Cl(2) (cis-[2]Cl(2)) and cis-[Co(H(2)ade)Cl(en)(2)]Cl(3) (cis-[3]Cl(3)) could be isolated. The pK(a) values of the Hade and H(2)ade(+) complexes are 6.03(1) and 2.53(12), respectively, at 20 degrees C in 0.1 M aqueous NaCl. The single-crystal X-ray analyses of cis-[2]Cl(2).0.5H(2)O and cis-[3]Cl(2)(BF(4)).H(2)O revealed that protonation took place first at the adeninate N(7) and then at the N(1) atoms to form adenine tautomer (7H-Hade-kappaN(9)) and cationic adeninium (1H,7H-H(2)ade(+)-kappaN(9)) complexes, respectively. On the other hand, addition of NaOH to an aqueous solution of cis-[1]Cl afforded a mixture of geometrical isomers of the hydroxo-adeninato complex, cis- and trans-[Co(ade-kappaN(9))(OH)(en)(2)](+). The trans-isomer of chloro-adeninato complex trans-[Co(ade-kappaN(9))Cl(en)(2)]BF(4) (trans-[1]BF(4)) was synthesized by a reaction of cis-[2](BF(4))(2) and sodium methoxide in methanol. This isomer in acidic aqueous solution was also stable toward isomerization, affording the corresponding adenine tautomer and adeninium complexes (pK(a) = 5.21(1) and 2.48(9), respectively, at 20 degrees C in 0.1 M aqueous NaCl). The protonated product of trans-[Co(7H-Hade-kappaN(9))Cl(en)(2)](BF(4))(2).H(2)O (trans-[2](BF(4))(2).H(2)O) could also be characterized by X-ray analysis. Furthermore, the hydrogen-bonding interactions of the adeninate/adenine tautomer complexes cis-[1]BF(4), cis-[2](BF(4))(2), and trans-[2](BF(4))(2) with 1-cyclohexyluracil in acetonitrile-d(3) were investigated by (1)H NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of trans-[Co(ade)(H(2)O)(en)(2)]HPO(4).3H(2)O, which was obtained by a reaction of trans-[Co(ade)(OH)(en)(2)]BF(4) and NaH(2)PO(4), was also determined.  相似文献
