A method is proposed for calculating the energy dependence of the fusion cross section (in general, the sum of the cross sections for complete and incomplete fusion, quasifission, and reactions of deep-inelastic scattering) σ F (E) and the total cross section for peripheral (or quasielastic) reactions, σ D (E). The method is based on an analysis of a limited set of angular distributions for the elastic scattering in a given pair of nuclei. The predictive power of the method is illustrated by considering the 16O + 208Pb, 16O + 40Ca, and 16O + 28Si systems. For each of these systems, the calculations were performed at energies in the range extending from subbarrier values to those exceeding the barrier height substantially. The results of the calculations are found to be in good agreement with relevant experimental data, whereby the reliability of the method is confirmed. By virtue of this, it is proposed to employ the method to study the energy dependences σ F (E) and σ D (E) in collisions involving unstable nuclei, for which it is difficult to determine experimentally the above dependences because of a low intensity of secondary beams.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of the Bi1 ? x Ln x FeO3 (Ln is a rare-earth ion), Bi1 ? x A x FeO3 ? x/2 (A is an alkali earth ion), and BiFe1 ? x Ti x O3 + δ solid solutions in magnetic fields up to 14 T have been studied. The concentration ranges of the existence of the ferroelectric phase described by the space group R3c have been determined. It is shown that the substitution of the rare-earth ions for the Bi3+ ions leads to a sharp decrease in the critical fields inducing the metamagnetic transition from a modulated antiferromagnetic state to a weakly ferromagnetic one; however, the modulated structure in the concentration range of the R3c phase is mainly retained. The substitution of the alkali earth ions (x ~ 0.1) for the bismuth ions leads to the total destruction of the modulated structure and to the implementation of the weakly ferromagnetic state within the R3c phase. A homogeneous weakly ferromagnetic state has been revealed when the Ti4+ ions (x = 0.1) are substituted for the Fe3+ ions in the ferroelectric R3c phase.  相似文献

Liquid Argon was irradiated with bremsstrahlung from 18 to 31 MeV endpoint energy in steps of 2 MeV. The yields of the reactions Ar40(γ, n)+(γ, p) and Ar38(γ, n) were measured by detecting the 269a and the 35d rest activity with a low-level-counter. Cross section curves for the (γ, n)-processes could be found from the yield values, and they allowed together withσ N, σ(γ, p) andσ(γ, np) a determination ofσ(γ, 2n) and σγabs for Ar40. The integrated cross section forσ(γ, n) from threshold to 33 MeV yields (200±40) MeVmb for Ar40 and (210±40) MeVmb for Ar38, the corresponding value for σγabs being (450±60) MeVmb for Ar40.  相似文献

On the basis of data obtained by the incomplete fusion reactions 7Li(43A MeV)+232Th and 14N(34A MeV)+197Au, the energy dependence of the variance (σ M 2 ) of the fragment mass in fission of highly heated nuclei has been investigated for total excitation energies E tot * ranging from 50 up to 350 MeV. The dependence σ M 2 E tot * shows some unexpected features when E tot * exceeds a value of about 70 MeV. After this value, the steady increase of σ M 2 expected from its temperature dependence changes to some kind of plateau between 100 and 200 MeV. Further on, at E tot * in excess of about 250 MeV, the variance is found to increase again sharply. In order to analyze this behavior quantitatively, a dynamical stochastic model has been developed. The model employs the one-body dissipation mechanism and describes the decay of highly excited and rotating nuclei by fission and light-particle evaporation. It satisfactorily explains the measured prior-to-scission neutron multiplicities and the experimental mass variances up to E tot * ?250 MeV, but the stochastic treatment does not reveal any increase in σ M 2 at higher excitation energies in contradiction with the data.  相似文献

The reliability of experimental cross sections obtained for (γ, 1n), (γ, 2n), and (γ, 3n) partial photoneutron reactions using beams of quasimonoenergetic annihilation photons and bremsstrahlung is analyzed by employing data for a large number of medium-heavy and heavy nuclei, including those of 63,65Cu, 80Se, 90,91,94Zr, 115In, 112?124Sn, 133Cs, 138Ba, 159Tb, 181Ta, 186?192Os, 197Au, 208Pb, and 209Bi. The ratios of the cross sections of definite partial reactions to the cross section of the neutron-yield reaction, F i = σ(γ, in)/σ(γ, xn), are used as criteria of experimental-data reliability. By definition, positive values of these ratios should not exceed the upper limits of 1.00, 0.50, 0.33,... for i = 1, 2, 3,..., respectively. For many nuclei, unreliable values of the above ratios were found to correlate clearly in various photon-energy regions F i with physically forbidden negative values of cross sections of partial reactions. On this basis, one can conclude that correspondent experimental data are unreliable. Significant systematic uncertainties of the methods used to determine photoneutron multiplicity are shown to be the main reason for this. New partial-reaction cross sections that satisfy the above data-reliability criteria were evaluated within an experimental–theoretical method [σ eval(γ, in) = F i theor (γ, in) × σ expt(γ, xn)] by employing the ratios F i theor (γ, in) calculated on the basis of a combined photonuclear-reaction model. It was obtained that cross sections evaluated in this way deviate substantially from the results of many experiments performed via neutron-multiplicity sorting, but, at the same time, agree with the results of alternative activation experiments. Prospects of employing methods that would provide, without recourse to photoneutron-multiplicity sorting, reliable data on cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions are discussed.  相似文献

Basic methods for determining cross sections for photoneutron partial reactions are examined. They are obtained directly in experiments with quasimonoeneregetic annihilation photons or from the cross section for the (γ, xn) = (γ, 1n) + 2(γ, 2n) + 3(γ, 3n) +... neutron-yield reaction in experiments with bremsstrahlung photons by introducing corrections based on statistical nuclear-reaction theory. The difference in the conditions of these experiments, which leads to discrepancies between their results because of sizable systematic errors, is analyzed. Physical criteria are used to study the reliability of data on the photodisintegration of 133Cs, 138Ba, and 209Bi nuclei. The cross sections for partial and total reactions satisfying the reliability criteria are evaluated within the experimental–theoretical method (σeval(γ, in) = Fitheor × σexpt(γ, xn)) on the basis of the experimental cross sections σexpt(γ, xn) and the results of the calculations within the combined model of photonuclear reactions.  相似文献

The cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions are evaluated for the 63,65Cu and 80Se isotopes. The cross sections are free of systematic uncertainties from shortcomings of the experimental methods for neutron multiplicity sorting based on measurements of neutron energy used in experiments with quasimonoenergetic annihilation photon beams. An experimental-theoretical method is used to evaluate cross sections σeval(γ, in)= Fitheor σexp(γ, xn), where ratios Fitheor = σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor(γ, xn) = σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor[(γ, 1n) + 2(γ, 2n) + …] are calculated using a combined model of photonuclear reactions, and σexp(γ, xn) is the experimental cross section of the neutron yield reaction free from neutron multiplicity sorting problems. The cross sections are evaluated for reactions (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n) for the 63,65Cu and 80Se isotopes, and for the total photoneutron reaction σ(γ, Sn) = σ[(γ, 1n) + (γ, 2n) + …]. It is shown that noticeable deviations of the experimental cross sections from the evaluated values result from the unreliable sorting of neutrons between the channels with multiplicities 1 and 2.  相似文献

The static magnetic susceptibility (χ) of own-made HCl-doped polyaniline pellets is investigated experimentally over the full range of the protonation level Y and in the temperature (T) range 10–300 K.The obtained results suggest that χ and the electrical conductivity σ – which is known from previous work – are interrelated.Namely, there is a weakly Y dependent crossover temperature T * where both χ and σ undergo notable changes.In χ, this refers to a simultaneous enhancement (reduction) of the Pauli-type susceptibility χ P and reduction (enhancement) of the Curie constant C at T = T * when T increases (decreases).Below T < T *, where thermal effects are weak to moderate, a steep increase of χ P(Y) around Y = 0.3 occurs together with a drop of C(Y).The above findings are consistent with a picture in which, at T *, spins that disappear from C reappear in χ P, and vice versa.This model is used to address the longitudinal and transversal electron localisation lengths as functions of Y, the former being estimated to take values in the range 7–8 Åand the latter in the range 1–2 Å.  相似文献

We deposited amorphous Bi films with a thickness between 3 and 6.5 nm at 4.2 K on top of previously deposited Co clusters having a mean size of ~4.5 nm. The Co cluster layers thickness was between 2.3 and 5 nm. In-situ electrical transport measurements were performed between 2 and 100 K. Measurements on as-prepared samples having a Bi layer thickness of 3.0 nm show hopping (tunneling) conductivity as σ(T) = σ 0 exp[?(T 0/T)1/2] above the superconducting transition temperature T C and re-entrance behavior again with hopping (tunneling) conductivity below T C . Annealing of films having a Bi layer thickness of 5.5 nm results in a decrease of resistivity, with variable-range hopping conduction behavior as σ(T) = σ 0 exp[?(T 0/T)1/3 ]. Quite different are the findings for films having a Bi layer thickness of 6.5 nm: annealing of these films results in a power-law behavior as σ(T) = σ 0 T α with α = 2/3, indicating that these films are close to a quantum critical point separating superconducting and insulating phases. A phase diagram including all experimental observations is proposed.  相似文献

We have found a possible example of the rare decayσ + →nΜ + Ν, which violatesδS=δQ. The positive decay track of theσ + comes to rest in the hydrogen bubble chamber and decays into ane +. This track has all the characteristics of a stoppingΜ +. The decay neutron fortuitously scatters twice, producing two recoil protons. The only other possible interpretation of the event isσ +nγ(π + →Μ + Ν), where theπ + →Μ + Ν decay produces no deflection (θ<0.1 rad) and no significant change in curvature. Using thep-wave radiative decay predictions ofBarshay et al. we calculate that the integrated branching ratio for such “accidental” events isγ(σ + →nγ(π + →Μ stop + Ν))/γ(σ + →nπ +)=1.6×10?6. Most of the contribution to this “accidental” branching ratio comes from radiative decays where theπ + mesons have ranges less than 1 mm (p π<20 MeV/c). If one excludes thoseΜ's with ranges less than 1.2 cm the above “accidental” branching ratio becomes 5.5×10?7. With this figure we estimate that we should have seen 6.5×10?2 events of this type thusfar in our experiment. The neutron momentum does not help in deciding between the two hypotheses. We therefore assign a confidence level of 7% for the radiative hypothesis. For the leptonic hypothesis we obtain an estimate of the branching ratio,γ(σ + →nΜ + Ν)/γ(σ + →nπ +)=5×10?5. If one further accepts theσ + →nπ + Ν event reported byBarbaro-Galtieri et al. and theσ + →ne + Ν event reported byNauenberg et al., one obtains theδS=?δQ leptonic branching ratio [γ(σ + →nΜ + Ν)+γ(σ + →ne + Ν)]/γ(σ + →nπ +)=(4±3)×10?5.  相似文献

The Nc dependence of PPPγ vertices, where P is a pseudoscalar meson and Nc is the number of colors, is analyzed with allowance for the Nc dependence of the quark charges. It is shown that the reactions and π±γπ±η and the decay ηπ+π?γ are the best processes for determining Nc. The cross section σ(π?γπ?η) as measured by using the VES facility at IHEP agrees with the value of Nc=3.  相似文献

A modified Poisson-Boltzmann model has been proposed which makes it possible to describe the screening of strongly charged macroparticles in liquid electrolyte Z: Z solutions in the case when parameter B= ZeQ0RT?1(Q0 is the surface electric charge, T is the temperature, ε is the solution permittivity, and Z is the valence of ions) provided that the solution is dilute: κR ≡ (8πZ2e2ni0T)1/2R?1 (ni0 is the equilibrium number density of ions). It is assumed that the charge Q0 of a macroparticle appears as a result of adsorption of ions of a certain polarity on its surface. Quantitative criteria of division of dissolved ions into capable and incapable of adsorption are formulated. For aqueous solutions, the adsorption mechanism always leads to values of B ? 1. It is shown that the charge inversion effect predicted by other authors on the basis of different models must be observed for such solutions for all Z ≥ 1. The effect of Brownian movement of macroparticles on their screening is considered. It is shown that viscous forces emerging during such movement lead to peripheral destruction (“washing out”) of the screening ionic shell of macroparticles and, as a result, to violation of their electroneutrality. This results in the emergence of two types of oppositely charged compound particles with small radii close to R and with radii much larger than R, the charge polarity of the latter being opposite to the polarity of Q0. It is found that both types of ions of compound particles obey the “law of distribution” of the mean energy of their electric field, expressed by formula (29). The problem of ionic screening of gas bubbles accompanied by the formation of bubstons (bubbles stabilized by ions) is considered separately. It is shown that the bubston radius R in pure water and in aqueous solutions of electrolytes is equal to 14 nm irrespective of the ion number density ni0. The value of ni0 determines the number density n b of bubstons themselves, which are formed spontaneously under equilibrium conditions.  相似文献

The energy losses of fast structural ions in collisions with atoms have been considered in the eikonal approximation. The structural ions are ions consisting of a nucleus and a certain number of electrons bound to it. The effect of nuclear charge Z of the ion on its effective deceleration κ(p) (energy losses associated with excitation of only intrinsic ion shells) has been analyzed. It is shown that the allowance for the interaction of an atom with the ion nucleus for Z a Z/v > 1, where Z a is the charge of the atomic nucleus and v is the velocity of collisions in atomic units, considerably affects the value of κ(p), which generally necessitates taking into account nonperturbatively the effect of both charges Z a and Z on κ(p).  相似文献

An electric Molecular-Beam-Resonance-Spectrometer has been used to measure simultanously the Zeeman- and Starkeffect splitting of the hyperfinestructure of TlF. Electric fourpole lenses served as focusing and refocusing fields of the spectrometer. A homogenous magnetic field (Zeeman-Field) was superimposed to the electric field (Stark-Field) in the transition region of the apparatus. The observedΔm J =±1 -transitions were induced electrically. Completely resolved spectra of Tl205F19 in theJ=1 rotational, andυ=0 vibrational state have been measured. The obtained quantities are: The rotational magnetic momentμ J of Tl205F19 in the stateJ=1,υ=0, and the difference of the magnetic shielding (σ 1,±1?σ 1,0) of both nuclei as well as the difference of the molecular susceptibility (ξ 1,±1?ξ 1,0) in the states (J, m J)=(1,±1) and (J, mJ)=(1, 0). The sign of the rotational magnetic moment could be determined unambigously by the influence of offdiagonal matrix elements. The numerical values for Tl205F19 in the stateJ=1 andυ=0 are:μ J =?29,153(21) · 10?6 μ Bohr (σ 1,±1?σ 1,0)Tl=?0,002291 (33) (σ 1,±1?σ 1,0)F=?0,000206(9) (ξ 1,±1-ξ 1,0)=+3,02(15) · 10?30erg/Gauß2 The quantities in brackets are root-mean-square deviations in units of the last digit. From these data and the known values for the spin-rotational interaction constants a number of expressions are derived which characterise the electronic charge distribution in the molecule.  相似文献

The imaginary parts of microwave conductivity σ″(T<Tc) and resistivity ρ (T)=1/σ(T>Tc) along (σ ab and ρab) and across and (σ c and ρc the cuprate ab planes of a YBa2Cu3O7?x crystal with the oxygen doping level x varying from 0.07 to 0.47 were measured in the temperature range 5≤ T≤200 K. In the superconducting state, the σ ab (T)/σ ab (0) and σ c (T c (0) curves coincide for an optimally doped (x=0.07) crystal, but, with an increase in x, the slopes of the σ c (T)/σ c (0) curves decrease noticeably at T<Tc/3, on the background of small changes happening to the σ ab (T ab (0) curves. The two-dimensional (2D) transport along the ab planes in the normal state of YBa2Cu3O7?x is always metallic, but there is a crossover (at x=0.07) from the Drude to hopping (at x>0.07) conductivity along the c axis. This is confirmed both by the estimates of the lowest metallic and the highest tunneling conductivities along the c axis and by quantitative comparison of the measured ρc(T) curves with the curves calculated in the polaron model of quasiparticle transport along the c axis.  相似文献

We provide a series of arguments which support the idea that the peak seen in the \( \gamma\) p \( \rightarrow\) K + \( \Lambda\) reaction around 1920MeV should correspond to the recently predicted state of J P = 1/2+ as a bound state of K \( \bar{{K}}\) N with a mixture of a 0(980)N and f 0(980)N components. At the same time we propose polarization experiments in that reaction as a further test of the prediction, as well as a study of the total cross-section for \( \gamma\) p \( \rightarrow\) K + K - p at energies close to threshold and of dσ/dM inv for invariant masses close to the two-kaon threshold.  相似文献

Using objective physical criteria for data reliability, cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions (γ, 1n), (γ, 2n) and (γ, 3n) that are free of the shortcomings of neutron multiplicity sorting methods used on beams of quasimonoenergetic annihilation photons are obtained for 141Pr and 186W nuclei. Evaluation is performed using the experimental–theoretical method (ETM), based on the experimental cross section of neutron yield reaction σexp(γ, xn) = σexp(γ, 1n) + 2 σexp(γ, 2n) + 3 σexp(γ, 3n) + … and ratios F i theor= σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor(γ, xn) calculated within the combined model (CM) of photonuclear reactions, which stipulates that σeval(γ, in) = F i theor σexp(γ, xn). It is found that for 141Pr and 186W, ratios F exp i do not contradict the data reliability criteria only at energies up to ~21 and ~22 MeV, respectively. At the same time, there are notable discrepancies between F i theor and F exp i, and thus between the evaluated and experimental cross sections of reactions. It is shown that the discrepancies between the evaluated and experimental cross sections are due to the assumed unreliable experimental distribution of neutrons in the channels with multiplicities 1, 2, and 3.  相似文献

We experimentally determined the fraction of αv of lithium-like boron B2+ and nitrogen N4+ ions in the 4 P 5/2 state having a velocity of 3.6 au that are formed upon capture of two (α2) electrons by hydrogen-like B4+ and N6+ ions and upon capture of one (α1) electron by helium-like (1s2s)1,3 S metastable B3+ and N5+ ions in gaseous media (H2, He, N2, Ar), as well as upon passage through a celluloid film. In light-element media (H2, He), α2 increases proportional to the target thickness T g and reaches a maximum at T g ≈ 1016 atom/cm2 (for B ions, α2 ≈ 0.2 in H2 and α2 ≈ 0.4 in He). For boron and nitrogen ions passing through thin layers of heavier gases (N2, Ne), α2 depends considerably more weakly on T g , and, in Ar, becomes practically constant. It is assumed that, since hydrogen and helium do not contain electrons with parallel spins, autoionizing lithium-like ions are formed as a result of successive (one by one) capture of electrons, whereas, in the heavier gases, simultaneous capture of two electrons predominates. At T g ~ 1015 atom/cm2, the fraction α1 of boron ions is the highest in He, ~0.15, and the lowest in Ar, ~0.07, being in qualitative agreement with calculations.  相似文献

Based on our previous study of the QCD inspired eikonalized model for describing vector meson photoproduction, pp, and \(\bar p\) p elastic scattering at high energies, we apply the mode to high energy K ± p elastic scattering. The total cross section σ tot(s), differential cross section dσ/dt, the ratio of the real part to imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitude ρ(s), and nuclear slope parameter function β(s) are calculated in the model. Our results show that the theoretical prediction for σ tot(s) is in a good agreement with the experimental data within error bars of the data. For the other theoretical predictions there are no data to test the predictive power of the model. We need the corresponding experimental data to examinate the validity of our QCD inspired eikonalized model. However, our calculations clearly show that the Odderon exchange in the process makes a significant contribution to the observable of ρ(s) and β(s). Therefore, we may conclude that there is a good opportunity to find the QCD Odderon in the K ± p elastic scattering at high energies.  相似文献
