A rigorous approach of nonlinear continuum mechanics is used to derive nonlinear wave equations that describe the propagation
and interaction of hyperelastic cylindrical waves. Nonlinearity is introduced by means of metric coefficients, the Cauchy—Green
strain tensor, and the Murnaghan potential and corresponds to the quadratic nonlinearity of all basic relationships. Quadratically
nonlinear wave equations are derived for three states (configurations): (i) axisymmetric configuration dependent on the radial
and axial coordinates and independent of the angular coordinate, (ii) configuration dependent on the angular coordinate, and
(iii) axisymmetric configuration dependent on the radial coordinate. Four ways of introducing physical and geometrical nonlinearities
to the wave equations are analyzed. Six different systems of wave equations are written

Sets of physical constants are tabulated for three structural models of fibrous composites with fibers of four types: Thornel-300
carbon microfibers, graphite whiskers, carbon zigzag nanotubes, and carbon chiral nanotubes. The matrix for all the types
of composites is always éPON-828 epoxy rosin (in some cases with polystyrene or pyrex additive). The values of the physical
constants are commented on and used to study the distinctions in the evolution of three types of waves (plane longitudinal,
plane transverse, and cylindrical) propagating in materials with soft and hard nonlinearities

The paper presents theoretical results on the interaction of cubically nonlinear harmonic elastic plane waves in a nonlinear
material described by the Murnaghan potential. The interaction of two harmonic transverse waves is studied using the method
of slowly varying amplitude. Reduced and evolution equations and the Manley-Rowe relations are derived. An analysis is made
of the mechanism of energy transfer from the strong pumping wave, which has frequency ω, to the weak signal wave, which has
frequency 3ω because of this interaction. A switching mechanism for hypersonic waves in a nonlinear elastic material is described,
which is similar to the switching mechanism observed in transistors

本文讨论弹性有限长圆柱壳端部受冲击载荷作用,在轴向应力波传播和反射过程中的非对称动态屈曲问题。通过建立和求解扰动方程得到了动态屈曲的分叉条件,临界载荷和屈曲模态。数值结果表明:当壳壁厚不很薄时,轴对称屈曲临界载荷比非轴对称临界载荷高;反之,轴对称临界载荷会比非对称临界载荷低;由于应力波的反射,临界载荷降低,因而更容易发生屈曲,屈曲模态也有其不同特点。 相似文献

The paper examines the harmonic vibrations of an infinitely long thin cylindrical shell made of a nonlinear elastic piezoceramic
material and subjected to periodic electric loading. Amplitude-frequency characteristics are plotted for different amplitudes
of the load. Points of these characteristics are analyzed for stability. The transients occurring while harmonic vibrations
attain the steady state are studied

In literature, nonlinear traveling waves in elastic circular rods have only been studied based on single partial differential
equation (pde) models, and here we consider such a problem by using a more accurate coupled-pde model. We derive the Hamiltonian
from the model equations for the long finite-amplitude wave approximation, analyze how the number of singular points of the
system changes with the parameters, and study the features of these singular points qualitatively. Various physically acceptable
nonlinear traveling waves are also discussed, and corresponding examples are given. In particular, we find that certain waves,
which cannot be counted by the single-equation model, can arise.

A brief review of the literatures on the titled subject is given. A set of wave equations, taking the inertial coupling effect
between soil skeleton and pore water into account, are established for saturated soils. The preliminary analysis shows that
the nature of wave propagation is mainly influenced by permeability coefficient,k. There are three types of waves, two (P-and S-wave) propagating through soil skeleton and one(P-wave) through pore water.
For a soil with large value ofk, compression wave velocity through pore water will be greater than that through single-phased water, and ask→∞, the former could be
times as great as the latter. For a soil with extremely low permeability, the compression wave velocity could be either less
or greater than that through single-phased water, depending on the rigidity of the soil passing through. Some phenomena observed
from tests presented in the literature may be reasonably explained by the proposed theory herein, and thus more reliable parameters
of soil could be obtained from wave velocity measurements. Further studies on this subject are still needed.

The propagation of waves in a homogeneous isotropic micropolar elastic cylindrical plate subjected to stress free conditions is investigated. The secular equations for symmetric and skew symmetric wave mode propagation are derived. At short wave limit, the secular equations for symmetric and skew symmetric waves in a stress free circular plate reduces to Rayleigh surface wave frequency equation. Thin plate results are also obtained. The amplitudes of displacements and microrotation components are obtained and depicted graphically. A summary on transistors and some facts on nanocomposite materials and their classical models are provided. New models used here for computer simulation are described. Results from a theoretical study of the interaction of cubic nonlinear harmonic elastic plane waves in a Murnaghan material are presented. The interaction of two harmonic waves is analyzed using the method of slowly varying amplitudes. The mechanism of energy pumping from a strong pump wave to a weak signal wave is examined.
